I understand you guys who are like"oh i don't understand why people don't like it just because it's not like L4D" but you simply don't get that it is yet another game that tries to be L4D... We had Overkill's which was horrible and made us dislike that approach. This game might be better than OTWD but you have to ask yourself "do i really want to play a game that just try hardOkay so...     Never rated a game before but deemed it necessary for this game as I'm so disappointed.

    Region locked, no servers for certain regions with no mention of it prior to purchase, so for some (including me) unless you enjoy 300 ping this is a pass. Overall the game has great stability and for the amount of zombies it's nice to see how well it runs.     The game feels pretty lackluster with features although this could be due to the fact I'm reduced to playing single player only.

    May re-review it if they decide to add support for more regions but I personally think it's a little ridiculous that the game was released in regions that they have no servers for, fair enough if it was a free to play but charging people the same price for a quarter of the experience is more than a minor annoyance.

    With that said, the devs have been extremely lazy with feedback, while I can understand and appreciate fixing major bugs (such as game crashes on startup and well basically anything stopping the current playerbase from playing the game at all) the fact that it has been 3 days since they said they're looking into the whole region thing and have given no response as to whether its going to be happening or not is extremely frustrating.

    Myself and my friends are all waiting to get a simple yes they're coming or no there's not a large enough playerbase to extend servers so we can decide whether or not we want to refund the game.

    They themselves have even mentioned they're well aware of the requests for the OCE servers and that it has been highly requested and yet it's not enough to get a straight forward answer.

    The game has great potential if they add in some more maps and longer campaign levels, they're extremely short at the moment and are quite repetitive.

    The weapons upgrades are extremely linear, while I know this isn't uncommon they basically have no reason for them and should just be implemented with general leveling.

    Customization is questionable, no fov slider, sensitivity options aren't great and

    There's a common issue at the moment with audio not being in sync or cutting in and out.

    Voice lines are pretty limited and you'll often hear the same line said 5-6 times throughout the same campaign level, if not more.

    While I understand there's a limit to these sorts of things it just feels like an early access title with no real substance.

    I'm sure in future it'll have improvements but for now it really feels like a beta.    … Expand

This game proves that somehow, a game with tons of money put into it can still be garbage. Left 4 dead is worth more of your time than this garbage.     Left 4 Dead 2! With the title of a famous book/film.
    It is fun if you like simple co-op zombie-killing games.
    But it is such a huge copy/paste of L4D that it's not worth the full price imho.
    I refunded this one of wait until its on discount for like 10€!

    E-sport garbage focused for multiplayer has nothing to do with the World War Z book of Max Brooks it's extremely repetitive there is almost no story or any character development and you just do the same boring combat and defense in few stages around the world and as for the AI it's extremely stupid. Another cash-grab made for kids and the brainless masses of the web.     It looks nice and would be quite good if not for the fact that the companion AI is abysmal (I like to play solo with bots). This is enhanced by the fact that many missions have you defend places but the AI is terrible at protecting stuff so you end up losing missions instantly because you failed to defend some point that you have to defend yourself while the AI don't care (these instantIt looks nice and would be quite good if not for the fact that the companion AI is abysmal (I like to play solo with bots). I give it a 4 because it is fun to a degree, but gets boring quickly, and the amount of options is limited. Match lobby times are long, and the random people you are matched with vary greatly in their individual level. You will be matched with people who are far more advanced, or have access to options you don't have yet. This puts you at a distinct disadvantage in game leading to frustration.     That 1 Zombie? Can down you. A bug can take you out of the game entirely. This will not be fixed. Why you ask? It's one of the ways it feigns difficulty. The game is difficult at higher levels, don't get me wrong. What I'm talking about are those little things that they do intentionally to make the game seem harder than it should be.

    This IS a serious issue, because of 1 reason. The hordes are enough. Maybe not on the lower levels when you're experienced. On Insane , and Extreme though? It's just a bug that ruins the game entirely. Can and will down you in 2-3 hits while being a cars distance or more away?

    Sometimes it tries TO hard and just spawns a creeper directly on top of you, ready to attack. Not near you. Not even enough time for it to make its noises. You check all your corners, get where you're going, turn around to head back, and it's sitting right outside the door you just came through a second earlier. Why? To make it seem harder, and to punish you for going for that med kit.

    Glitched and grinding game and a waste of your time. The reward of completing on higher difficulties does not scale enough and the game play is too simple and repetitive. They have tried to extend the duration of the game by making it harder and make it a grinding game. In 2019 this is simply cheap game development.

    The game itself looks and plays very well, I enjoy the way they made the hordes really feel like hordes and like a threat to the player. The selection of weapons and classes increased it's replay-ability and it actually rewards you for finishing a campain.

    Why in the world is there no option to create private lobbies?! Isn't that the most common feature a coop-based shooter should have from the very beginning? I mean, sure, Sabertooth said that they're gonna add the option to create a private lobby but that shouldn't be something you have to add!!
    Trying to start a game with less than 3 other friends is a chore because you will mostly get matched with someone who's already in a mission and you are either forced to join into that mission or you have to leave and try it with another campain.
    It is so frustrating that it often makes me ragequit before I even got to play the game.

    It's so frustrating that this is my only reason I give this game only a 6/10 because private lobbies or at least the option to turn off "Join already ongoing missions" or something.    … Expand

    Actually better than i thought but still not so good. Enemy variety is missing and the special enemies which are in the game are so worthless and not threat at all. Progression system is pretty good though. Story sucks. Graphics looks nice i guess. It looks an unfinished game. The final chapters from each campaign is so average that it can easily pass for the first chapter as well. You may get lost in what to do sometimes especially before fighting the horde ("get prep to fight the horde" and the silence until it's too late. They at least put on a timer). The AI is the worst I've ever seen. They simply ignore you when you're down. Way worse than l4d in this aspect. At least I wasn't hyped for this game.… Expand

    The game is filled with technical problems. My example is that when I play online I can play for only 4 minutes, and then it just throws me into the main menu.     World War Z, esattamente come il gioco della Valve, è sviluppato a capitoli e livelli, anche se in questo caso sono di numero decisamente inferiore. Le location sono tutte molto precise, anche se alcuni elementi sono ripetuti un po' troppo spesso e si finisce per impararne le caratteristiche (ad esempio se un furgone contiene oggetti, se può essere aperto o se è semplicemente scenico).

    Gli zombie sono identici a Left 4 Dead, ovvero oltre ai nemici base ne sono presenti alcuni "speciali" e più difficili da sconfiggere. Anche questi zombie speciali sono gli stessi. Gli unici assenti rispetto a L4D sono il Tank e la Witch, ma si possono ritenere sostituiti dalle orde di zombie, che sono esageratamente grandi e a tratti anche buffe (gli zombie arrivano come un fiume in piena lanciandosi dai palazzi).
    Proprio per contrastare queste orde sono presenti nel gioco delle armi fisse, come mitragliatrici e mortai, che sono un'aggiunta interessante ma che personalmente non mi convince appieno.

    Le differenze principali da Left 4 Dead, e che personalmente mi piacciono molto, sono la visuale in terza persona (di cui sono un grande fan) e il sistema a classi. Quest'ultimo è ben sviluppato in quanto ogni classe (che prescinde dal personaggio selezionato) ha caratteristiche precise che si sviluppano ancora di più utilizzandolo e quindi facendolo salire di livello. Allo stesso modo salgono di livello anche le armi e questo permette di acquistarne modifiche.

    Per concludere posso dire che non è un gioco originale e se sotto certi aspetti è meglio rispetto a Left 4 Dead è solo perchè è uscito diversi anni dopo e parte da una base consolidata che non ha necessitato di molto studio. Ottenuto gratis sull'Epic Store però merita di essere giocato con gli amici, che magari non sono in possesso del titolo Valve.

    World War Z is not an outstanding shooter, but a very successful license implementation and, above all, fun. Still, it never really keeps me in front of the screen for long, it just gets boring too quickly.

    With only 16 maps, the key to replayability is character progression and scalable difficulty. Focus nails this aspect with 6 classes and dozens of skills to develop.

    Another way to give the game replayability is by adding challenges and horde mode. Not encountered a challenge that I was remotely close to being able to complete, but Horder mode is the real star anyway. Waves of increasingly taxing zombies, equipment that wears out, and a shop where you can replace it. Except this is where the whole thing falls apart. A key (and bloody irritating mechanic in the game) is a rapid countdown timer. You can't do anything instantly - reload, change weapons, or pick up new ones. They all have a 1 or 2 second timer to prevent you being able to just do what you want to do in the midst of an attack. Bad enough when it comes to picking up a new weapon, but when the same timer is used on the ingame horde mode shop, it becomes infuriating - not for the time delay, but because the "Open shop" button is also the purchase item button. So you're waiting for the poxy timer to go down and trying to judge so that you don't.... accidentally... buy.... NO DAMN IT, I bought another bloody electric kit.
    Whoever came up with and signed off on this mechanic should be fired IMMEDIATELY. It totally ruins what is otherwise an EXCELLENT mode in a pretty decent game.
    At NO POINT do I want to have to battle a game's interface, and even less so when I have limited time, limited resources, and a single wrong purchase can cost me hours of effort.
    I'd give the game 3 points more if that single mechanic was fixed..    … Expand

    The real successor to the Left for Dead series, World War Z hits the fun notes, massive hordes of Zombies and a lot of mindless pew pew. The game attempts to inject the same teamwork like L4D, and it does so credibly. Though like any game, the hardcore gamers can solo the game. A great game and a fun romp. Just don't think too deep into the simple mechanics.

I also like that the game is sold at discounted price. it plays beautifully on my Ryzen 2400g with Vega 11. 1080p at medium settings without a problem. Those who give this game 0 because the game is only available through Epic store do not get it that competition is only good for us. SteamFun zombie co-op game.     World war Z initially is a bare bones 6.5or 7 / 10. Late game it reaches 7.5-8/10, it is a good game. The creative aspect of it is NOT well developed: the characters are forgettable and the story is just as weak. HOWEVER It's late game you will realise, THIS is a good PROGRESSION OF L4D. The skills work, the maps are well made and I found it not only    (just short of 8/10)

    World War Z is a genuine fun and entertaining Left 4 Dead clone that does add a bit of its own stuff to a mix in the old formula. The only issue is that bugs, glitches, and poor connectivity are can be annoying, but hopefully, that will be sorted.

    All in all, World War Z is a pretty fun experience. It’s one that definitely surprised me, as the developers in my opinion didn’t put their best foot forward with the trailers. It still may not appeal to people who weren’t fans of the movie, but if you’re a fan of zombie games, especially co-op experiences like Left 4 Dead, it’s a solid experience at a relatively cheap price for the amount of gameplay and replay value you’re getting. Just make sure you’re playing with friends, as playing with randoms is often as bad as playing with the single player AI.
