    Yes, I played this game.
    Why?
    1. The whole game is like GTA 3.5 - ok, not a BIG problem.
    2. Bugs? Ok, it's 'normal' ...
    3. Camera - where is dynamic camera?
    4. Collision system.. really?
    5. Crowd system control - I thought after all ACs this would be mastered to perfection.
    6. Physics?
    7. Mechanics?

and so many other 'little' things...

Very boring missions, terrible car handling and bad performance sums this game up.

When I played some of the missions I was like uh **** I don't want to do that let me do something fun. When driving the cars they handled horribly. The handling is comparable to that of saints row 3. When driving at high speeds my game would stutter and the game looks ugly as hell on max settings.

Graphic looks awful, worse than GTA IV or some old games. Hacking with one button? Well, this is not hacking at all! What is different on this game than other's? Definitively bugs, more than any game what you have played. I'm going to run this game on xbox 360. I know, graphic will be much worse but at least I can play it. If you have AMD graphic, forget about this game, luckily I don't. Don't waste time with that game, it's completely trash. Expand

Bare through the game for the first 20-30 minutes and you'll be rewarded richly.

The hand-holding tutorial is a bit too much and you aren't given any time to adjust your settings without missing some parts of the story which caused me to have to restart the campaign. Which meant I had to sit through the entire unskippable intro movie one more time than I would have liked, but

Which meant I had to sit through the entire unskippable intro movie one more time than I would have liked, but fortunately it was only one time and not with every save/load.

The driving takes some getting use to, it is different from what I would have expected. I crashed into everything at first but after 30 minutes or so I was weaving through traffic like a pro.

The story is better than I expected so far, and I'm enjoying it.

The in-game minigames are awesome fun - especially the carmaggeddon and spider tank games. I also enjoyed Alone.

The multi-player is amazingly fun. I still remember the feeling when the first person invaded my game. The ensuing panic was just epic! Couldn't wait to return the favour.

There are some issues with the game however. The vehicle damage model doesn't update properly in the event of a major collision. If I crash head-on into a truck the car should be totalled, not just have a tiny scratch. The game definitely supports more collision models as your car will look really bad after a few minutes of crashing into things, but it needs to jump to this state faster for bigger collisions.

There are still some framerate issues as well which I hope they resolve soon. I was using the Watch dogs ready drivers from Nvidia.

The graphics looks really good and I am spoilt for choice.

Current review is 8, but I will make it a 9 once the frame rate issues are resolved and the collision models jump sufficiently on a high magnitude collision.

The Graphics is good at night, but i hate the plastic Faces of most of the characters, it should be better for a new generation game.

The driving mechanics also feels terrible, and if u want to adjust the camera, sometimes it just jumps way too far.

The killing animation with the baton is always the same and sneaking feels terrible because of it. I dont think hitting someone with a baton is silent and you can't stranglehold someone for a shooting. Its not much but it should be possible.

There are plenty good open world games, which have more to do, better animation even if they are some years older. I just dont understand why Ubisoft isnt able to make a game with penty more features. Like every other game of ubisoft u can discover everything in Act 1 and test every hacking skill.

Terrible PC port. The optimization is abysmal. The story is completely boring. Regarding the game play, think of it as a glorified assassins creed set in current time. I have a pretty high end PC and suffer from fps drops while driving or doing any other stuff. Also, ultra settings don't live up to the quality of the demo shown a while back. Don't buy it, or just wait until Ubisoft fixes it.

All in all, this is a freaking abomination. The graphics looks nothing like the 2012 trailer, with all the poor texture and visual effects. Hell, they said that this game's engine got some parts of Assassin's Creed IV and FarCry 3's visual combined, but I'd rather play FarCry 3 or Assassin's Creed IV for better visuals. Also, the driving mechanic is a huge train wreck that I'd rather walk or run most of the time. The acceleration and turning performance is super sensitive that it's so hard to drive straight. And the cover system, I love that I could stick myself to any piece of cover I could find and then switch cover quite easily. But press C to enter cover and press V to leave cover?? What the hell is that? Ubisoft has released many games utilizing cover mechanic, and some worked really nicely and here I thought they would have taken adventage of that, but no. And the main event - hacking is needless to say, disappointing. All you have to do is press and hold one single button on your keyboard and "boom!", whatever you were aiming to hack is taken care of. No deep hacking mechanic whatsoever although it was the one thing Ubisoft has been talking about a whole lot. And performance is also a pain in the ass. When I first played this game, it reminded me of Total War Rome II on its release. It's just so bad...all around. Expand

The voice acting of the main character is definitely terrible and unfitting. Story is decent but how it is presented is won't amaze you. As for PC elements, maxing out the game is easy with my graphics card (GTX 770M). HOWEVER you won't notice a difference much between low and ultra settings even with maxed MSAA besides the water. The Critic reviews on this are obviously bought and paid for, so take them with a grain of salt.

The graphics in the game are underwhelming to say the least -- and this was supposed to be it's strong selling point. This is also under the premise that the game is playable for you at a decent frame rate, which as of the date of writing this it isn't for everyone. Lots of trouble there.

That being said, go look at the last review of Grand Theft Auto and add in a that it's an awful port with a less than engaging story involving characters you'll find it very hard to care about, the controls are about as sluggish as possible with no hope of fine movements without a lot of trial and error sensitivity changes outside of the game, and a story line that just doesn't make much sense.

This game is at best Grand Theft Auto with a focus on hacking. At worsts, it's a really bad Grand Theft Auto with a focus on hacking. Don't get me wrong, the idea of hacking is a great inclusion -- you just can't insert it into what looks like an attempt at a rockstar game and hope it carries the weight all by itself.

Compared to GTA IV, the NPCs are much, much more "real." They react as you would expect. Just taking out a gun starts to make people panic and run away. In GTA IV you can run around carrying a missle launcher without anyone caring -- really? They also tend to actually get out of your way -- unless they're facing the other direction, of course. Then just a gentle tap will get their attention.

Anyway, what really makes Watch_Dogs great is that it sets the world up to allow you to be immersed. If that's not your thing, you probably won't be rating it 10/10. Even then, it's still a nice main story.

PS: Why compare it to GTA IV? Well GTA V doesn't even exist on the PC. Hardly fair to compare games cross console. That's really just a rant - at least Ubisoft is still fully willing to make PC games. That's more than I can say for R*. A game with some Day-One bugs is much, much better than no game at all. Although personally, I've only run into a couple of graphical glitches.

first of all: Don't let the low user score scare you from this title. It's a good game.
Ubisoft made people wait a hole year for this game, and after that, another year. That made impossible surpass the expectations. That probably happened because the game is too ambitious.
The game lacks its own style and looks like a copy of GTA, but that don't make it a bad game.

Car driving should be improved. I agree it's **** right now. Feels I'm driving with a d-pad rather than analog. Runs fine on my hardware too.

Runs fine on my hardware too. Some people are upset because they don't know how to adjust the settings of the game to suit their machine and have good performance. They think adjusting = everything ultra + should run @ 60FPS. I've seen even people with low end machines complaining they cant play at max settings with 60 fps... smh.

Go play on consoles then, the experience will be worst by a far margin.

I don't understand why people are saying there is nothing to do in the city. It is, quite literally, littered with side quests and missions to accomplish. I was only 3 to 4 missions in when I ended up spending about 6 hours just doing side missions. Voice acting is top notch and so is the sound design. Weapons have a really good feel and hit targets squarely and with nice effects.
Upgrades and perks are really good as well. You get a vast array of upgrades tied to contant perks your doing in game. You also get upgrades for side missions and other things as well. To be honest, there's so much to upgrade you'll be choosing wisely.
Don't believe the haters. There's a LOT to do in the city. A lot. There's a plethora of vehicles to be had and some really nice weapons to attain. The story is done well enough and the cars handle about the same as GTA V or Sleeping Dogs. Motorcycles are done much better. If you're looking for something fun to play with an interesting premise then give it a try. Rent it if you must. The game is not breaking any barriers in the adventure/shooter department but it is really fun to ride it out and find everything you possibly can to do. I never ran out of missions on my first playthrough and I had quite a few missions give me a run for my money. All in all, I'm quite happy with my purchase and will be playing it again tackling different objectives from a different angle.
Between Watch Dogs and the release of the new Wolfenstein it has been a great two weeks or game releases. Decide for yourself, do NOT read into all these negative reviews. One thing is very certain on forums such as these. 99% of the posts will be angry, illiterate and nonsensical. While 99% of the posts are bad, that 99% only makes up 1% of actual players. The rest of the 99% playing the game is enjoying it immensely and have no reason to even post anything because they're not having any problems of any sort. I'd give Metacritic a few weeks until some positive reviews from people that are actually playing the ame with no problems and wickedly enjoying themselves put in their two cents. Bunch of haters on here to be honest.

I must admit the driving is god awful and I get constant frame skips whilst driving so I had to lower the texture quality from High to Medium even though the game runs really smooth whilst on foot. Controlling driving is probably the worst I have seen in a third person open world game ever, EVER, even with a gamepad. Besides driving, the game is really solid, the world feels alive, and with the help of the profiler gadget, it really helps humanise the NPC's. The hacking game mechanic is a really nice feature and can cause some really amazing action sequences and cop chase strategies. Stealth is really fun, gunplay is nice and smooth, haven't finished the story mode yet but from what I've played it's not too bad. Do I recommend you get this game? Probably not. They must be kidding. So much hype on this game visuals and no crossfire support?? Texture flickering? No Dynamic lightning? Static shadows? And the textures, were made in 2005? Only two police models. The helicopter and the generic vehicle. Many bugs and stupid AI. Very repetitive.

The game is mediocre at best.

Average at best. The story in itself isn't too bad but the cutscenes feel awkward and forced.
Gameplay wise, there is a quite a bit to do in the city but things become repetitive quickly and many of the rewards you just don't need. I've also encounted a tonne of bugs with missions not being completable or unlockables being blocked by clipping issues with other items. Running this on an

Running this on an i7 and a 780ti it looks pretty but still struggles with frame rates.

All in all, the the concepts are good in this game but it feels like they've been bolted together without any thought. The hacking becomes dull quickly and the vehicles have zero weight and therefore are terrible to drive.

Personally, I'd give this a miss.

I don't take sides while reviewing an usually review games with an open mind. Watch dogs indeed did not live up to the hype which was provided at E3 but it still provides a fair experience worth $60.
    The pros.
    1. It's nice to see a new concept such as hacking being introduced into a game like this. It can though get somewhat repetitive. 2. The graphics are quite nice at high settings

    The pros.
    1. It's nice to see a new concept such as hacking being introduced into a game like this. It can though get somewhat repetitive.
    2. The graphics are quite nice at high settings and I get a steady 45 FPS with my nvidia 650 ti boost. If no one has been watching there was a driver released optimism watch dogs.
    3. The open world and the sheer volume to explore is astounding. Many times I find myself just wandering off from the story mission to explore the open world.
    4. Relatable story. I found I had quite a number of hair raising situations during the story. The feeling of just was ting to slap Damien( the antagonist) was constantly there.
    The cons.
    1. The driving as many said was absolutely horrendous. I found many cars were either over steering or under steering. It becomes an absolute headache at times during fixer contracts and story missions. It does become easier with a controller such as an xbox controller.
    2. The MENU is atrocious. It was clearly made for consoles. Many times during fire fights I switch to guns I don't want and the phone is also hard to navigate. How hard is
It to put a mouse there?
    3. Enemies apparently have pixel perfect accuracy especially snipers who seem to hit you with every shot even while running.
    4. The uplay service is just...ugh I won't even say it. I also get hackers into my game like way too often so much so that I disable it.
    5. Citizens over react 90% of the time. EVEN WHEN BEHIND A WALL. I hid behind a wall with a spec ops 1911 they apparently spotted me through the wall and called the police.
    6. Unrealistic guns. I had a M107 and it took 2 damn shots to kill an elite? It's a damn .50 bang round not even the best body armor can protect against that. So much for realism. This brings another point, elites absorb bullets like BBs and even a goblin with a with a whole mag won't being them down. This fondly reminds me of a review done on ride to hell where only headshots do anything.
    Conclusion.
It was still a fun game but many flaws pull the whole rating down. I still enjoyed it though much like saints row.

    Watch Bugs 60$

I was so hyped for this game and its so bad and broken that im going to roll back the charge on my cc. I upgrade my old card for a r9 290x and i cant pass beyond 30 fps in high setting, so i can only say that this game is highly highly unoptimized or its probably another lame/console port. If you want to put ports do it right or at least don't rob people with 60$

Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

There are some strong gameplay elements in Watch Dogs, but overall it's merely an adequate open world game. [July 2014, p.46]

Nothing could have realistically lived up to the immense level of hype that Ubisoft stirred up for this game, and while I value strong narratives and envelope-pushing technological advancements, I place just as much importance in the ability to enjoy the gameplay that's being offered to me. Watch Dogs is one of the more exciting sandbox games of the last few years, and if this is to become Ubisoft's next big franchise, I'm excited to see where they take it.
