Its mechanics purely based on tabletop rules and thus it has very steep learning curve for those who are not familiar with them.
This game has probably Legendary difficulty level by the current standards and you can't change it. The missions are hard as your resources (gold and troops) are very limited. If your unit is completely destroyed it is gone for good. And you can save progress only between missions, so be ready to replay them and replay a lot, until you know every good spot on map and have precise step by step plan how to overcome heavy odds thrown at you. On top of that, WH tabletop rules are chance based due to 6 sided dice. And you may have the same case with different outcomes (positive or negative) pretty often.
The gameplay is really challenging and I love it as a hardcore gamer.
The campaign story is interesting and quite non-linear which increases some replayability value. I still play it from time to time.
Except Dark Omen, there was no sequel for a long time, unfortunately and if there won't be any in the future I will make it.… Expand
