    Warcraft 3: reforged it's like ecce homo recreation. Warcraft 3 not was just a game, it was "The Game" which inspired several popular games such as "Dota 2", "league of legends" among others. In the most basic aspects of the game it is exactly the same as its classic version, a "modern" redouble was made in the voices of the characters without any innovation. The HUD is exactly the same as the previous one but with "better" texture. Cinematics like all of the above remain exactly the same, despite the fact that Blizzard is known for doing very high quality cinematics, which is quite disappointing since it highlights the little and low interest that was had to create something of better quality with love that both the game was given to both the community and the former staff of warcraft 3. On the other hand we have the low publicity made, plus the advances that showed a game with better HUD, updated stories and fluid interludes which never arrived and probably will not arrive in some near or distant future, this fact can become denouncible to other players and distributors. In audio the game is a 3.5, it had a decent redouble, however it was only a recycling. As for the cinematics of the game a 1 due to the total recycling of these. Game-play 1.5 remains under the old hotkeys and can only be modified through a blog of notes something totally unforgivable in 2020. Animations 3 decent remodeling but rather buggy's and unclear in their attack renderings. Multiplayer 1 the game came out with a huge lack of features needed to create a community.
    final thoughts: The failure of this game is mainly due to the little dedication and lack of affection of a company to perhaps one of its greatest commercial successes, apart from demonstrating that their interest in the community that was created so long ago, they are not interested at all. Perhaps this bad edition definitely marks the fall of the rts genre and the reputation of the company responsible for this thing called "Warcraft 3: Reforged"    … Expand

    W3 was (and still is) a fantastic experience, created by developers who truly cared about making an exceptional game. Reforged, however, is clearly a production helmed by a profit driven corporation, not the developers. It just feels like the finance/marketing department is running the show on this one. Blizzard was never "just a AAA developer", they were THE AAA developer. Everything they did screamed quality and polish. Reforged is an example about how much Blizzard as a company has changed. It's full of failed promises, inconsistent artwork, rushed design, and a drive to capitalize on the work of the community creators. Am I enjoying this game? Sure.. it's..... fine... I mean it's the same great game it was 20 years ago. Am I ok with Blizzard going back on promised features, downgrading the original game, cutting corners at every turn, attempting to take ownership of other peoples work and stifling the creative community and their fanbase.. no... this game is a brittle shell of what was originally promised. It's not worth the price tag offered, and there is absolutely no transparency to their fans. The only good things I can say are that the character models, for the most part look much more detailed and better animated, which is nice sure, and the core game remains the same.. everything else, the game environments, the voice acting, the cutscenes, the missing features, all feel half-baked. Big two thumbs down Blizzard. What happened to delaying until it's ready, and canning disappointing games that don't meet expectations?? why frantically push out something to make a quick buck when your reputation is on the line?     I'm playing it for 3 days now. First 2 days we had that matchmaking bug that was forcing us to restart the game, but yesterday it didn't happened to me at all (7-8 1v1 games), so I guess/hope it was hotfixed.
    At the beginning we had no MMR, but now we already have the implemented hidden MMR. We received a big post from Blizzard, explaining why things are like this atm, and    Positives:

    As of this moment, campaign, variety of custom games, 1v1 + 2v2 + 3v3 + 4v4 + FFA are working just fine for me, so I'm glad I bought it. My game never crashed, and I saw 0 lag (my PC is "budget" at best).
    Also buying this game is a way for me to say thank you to the game developer, for many many hours of fun in the net cafe's with friends.

    Negatives:
    Although I see sometimes streamers are getting desync issues in 4v4, and complain about interface some issues, but I honestly can't even notice them.
    Not much new compared to old WC3 Classic, even missing thins like clans, proper chat, profile.
    New graphics (you can choose between old classic graphics and new reforged ones) make things like "unit surround" very hard. Generally targeting doesn't feel good enough atm.

    Neutral:
    It seems that most of the players forgot that Blizzard said that they will implement ranked/ladder the same way it was done for Star Craft Remastered - after first season (which I think is matter of some weeks, but don't quote me on that). I'm glad that there is no ranked atm, bcz if bugs were making players loose games due to unresolved technical issues, and those looses would have stayed forever in their acc match/statistics/history, it would be way worse.    … Expand

    Le jeu ne tient pas ses promesses, il propose uniquement une expérience Warcraft 3 mais sans le côté Reforged. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi ils ressortent le même jeu, en moins beau avec énormément de bug et de problèmes d'optimisation.
    À l'époque j'aurais mis dans problème un 5 à la version originale, mais celle ci ne mérite pas une note positive de la part

    Blizzard's stance on the custom map community shows that they did not understand the appeal of wc3 was its custom games - by limiting the creative rights of map makers, they destroyed the only thing wc3 was good for.

    sad as it is to admit, this game defined a big part of my growing up. to this day the original still has a robust and interesting community it spawned maps that went on to become stand alone games that are huge in the gaming world and this redesign let down everything about the original and everyone who loved it, shame on you blizzard you are nothing but corporates now

Oh wait I mean Activision-Blizzard. It’s amazing how you can completely destroy one of the best games ever made in less than 24 hours. And the fact they merged the older client into the new one is the cherry on top. I’d give this lower than a zero if I could . What a disgrace. They had such an opportunity here but again it’s all about the money .     It's fine. Aside from needing to be connected online to play and having lost access to some custom maps, it is a welcome update with many great features. Fans of the old school chunky graphics are in luck, thanks to blizzards continual support for this game they can enjoy a refreshing experience at no extra cost.

Does not make any economic sense to destroy the Blizzard brand like this. Sold all my ATVI stocks as well, I don’t believe in the current management.     - The game doesn't work. (if you get in it barely runs)
    - They lied about new UI (Not there)
    - They lied about new cutscenes (Not there)
    - They took out old features.
    - Now if you come up with a creative idea for a new gamemode and you make it, they now own it.
    - They ruined the old game by making the old game share client with the new "Refunded" version.
    I could make the list longer but I'm not gonna bore you anymore.

    Complete trash disconnects every other vs. Game. Spend 45 mins playing to win only to disconnect a few minutes before you do. It was broken still in the beta why was it released? I would have preferred waiting to wasting time.

    So I was never interested in this in the slightest. I believed the classic version didn't need any remastering. I thus never bought this. I recently had the urge to revisit this game in its original form. The game prompted me to download a patch and I just rolled with it. Apparently the game downloads the reforged client whether you bought it or not and are now stuck with this horribleSo I was never interested in this in the slightest.     Estragaram um jogo que marcou uma geração, fazer algo desse jeito, não deveriam ter lançado, não agregou em nada, bastava melhorar o gráfico e inserir novas cenas, talvez aprofundar a história enfim temos ótimos exemplos no mercado de como pode ser feito.

    Ah the memories... My brothers and I loved Warcraft 3. We would play it almost every day back in the days. All those community created maps conveyed the passion and dedication each member had in crafting a unique experience for the rest of the community. Endless genres would spawn each week, and each map are truly unique.

    Now? Among the many problems present is that they want to respond to the community's passion and love with the threat of hijacking their custom maps, instead of potentially developing the most popular ones together with the community, simply because they failed to recognise the potential of DotA when it was staring at them right in the face. They moved away from Blizzard to expand further and Blizzard was pissed that they missed profiting from it, even though they were the one that ignored them in the first place. Before Reforged was released, they deflected their inability to do a detailed retcon by claiming that the community rejects it. Oh really? It was so suspicious. So many warning signs... No longer are these games made for gamers, but for those people in business suits so that they can buy another summer home somewhere.

    Now I am just crying inside. The Blizzard we know is dead. All that is left is an abomination that must be purged.

    This is a huge disappointment. False advertising, broken promises, ignoring criticism, refusing to admit your mistakes, repression of creator rights, hypocrisy. I made a Metacritic account just for this, and I own all of Blizzards games. At least until I refunded Warcraft 3: Refunded.

    I didn't buy reforged, and still they forcefully updated my old good game into some bizarre abomination with cut functionality. No more custom campaign, no more LAN, no clans, no tournaments - I have hoped that they will in time add all this good features in new games, and instead they deleted them in the old one! Beyond all metaphors, this remake has failed by all aspects of it's creation. And with it, it has destroyed what was before as well.     The question is, does it deserve a zero? Do we review Warcraft 3 or the "fancy" new paint job. Do we review our disappointment or are we just sick of "evil" video game companies taking advantage of us?

    I understand why people are upset with professional critics. It's known that if you don't give a game game a good review they will loose their perks. Youtubers will loose their early review copies making them miss out of hype view counts and behemoths like Ign and Gamespot will loose exclusive trailers and interviews which is the only reason why they are so big.

    I just read the Ign review for this game i understand why they gave the game a 7. Yes, 7 is the score you give a bad game from a business daddy but reading the review i saw this was a person who loved Warcraft.

    I still like the game. It's Warcraft 3. It's one of the best RTS's of all time. But given all that has been going on with Blizzard and just the video game industry in general. I'm not happy.

    I can't give this game the same review as the original. But it's Warcraft 3! I have the option of playing with the old graphics but i don't. So i can't give it a 0 either. I'm just going to give this a a bland 5 for the bland remake it is.    … Expand

    This is clearly a project abandoned midway (at best) by a company that has gotten themselves into 1 PR scandal after another through their moronic and condescending decisions towards their fan-base at every possible turn.

    It's exceedingly hard to spend several years effectively destroying an existing successful product, but Activision-Blizzard somehow managed to pull that off.

    Not only that, but Blizzard also had the mind boggling lack of conscience, basic moral decency, and respect for their active fanbase, to effectively kill the entire map-making community in this game, claiming not only full intellectual ownership, but also moral rights, to anything made with their engine. This not only leaves their old game unplayable and the fanbase disappointed in the remaster, but also desecrates one of the most highly influential frontiers in game development to date. The WCR3 map editor has trained and inspired countless game developers, and has birthed entire genres of games through the creative tools that the powerful editor left the players able to use. It is a hallmark of a bygone era, that has now been soiled in absolutely moronic corporate greed by monkeys in suits who thinks that they pulled a fast one on a bunch of dumb kids who will make them a free profitable IP like DOTA that they missed out on in the past.
    Obviously, the far more predictable outcome of this, is that almost EVERY existing project in this game, has been CANNED. Effective immediately.

    I think that this takes the crown as THE worst game release in history. Beating Bethesda's Fallout 76 is a tough feat, but at least that game only ruined itself, and not 2 decades worth of glorious legacy and memories.

    First of all I am a huge player of Warcraft frozen throne. I discovered this game when I was 15, 16 years ago. I have played thousands games and this is my favorite game of all time. When I hear for a remastered I was so exited, I even buy a new computer to be prepared.

    The beta scared me a lot but I completly trust blizzard which reputation has been proved. And came the 29th of January,    First of all I am a huge player of Warcraft frozen throne. I discovered this game when I was 15, 16 years ago. I have played thousands games and this is my favorite game of all time. When I hear for a remastered I was so exited, I even buy a new computer to be prepared.

    The beta scared me a lot but I completly trust blizzard which reputation has been proved.

    And came the 29th of January, and I am so sad to say that this is a mess. I will only talk about multiplayer, the campaign seems cool but this is not the core of the game so :

    You cant join something like 20% of the games (you have to kill the game and launch it again)
    You can be disconnected during the game for no reasons
    Tournament are missing
    No player profile No matchmaking : I haven’t played just a single game versus someone of my level
    No stats
    No classic voices
    No channels
    I tried to link my classic account with 2k games but this is not working
    Pathfinding of bugued So I wanted to go back to tft classic waiting they patch all of this. But they have just delet the game : you cant even download tft classic and go on old battlenet.

    I am wondering if this « reforged » wasn’t an excuse to close old bnet server and make some money.

    This game is great indeed, but it’s not Warcraft 3. Warcraft 3 is dead. Blizzard is dead. RIP    … Expand

    Trailers that were demonstrated before and the game trailers and other things 146% match. The game meets all my expectations and I can recommend this game only my worst opponents.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.
