    저도 이 게임을 해봐서 압니다. 문제가 굉장히 많고 밸런스, 포탄 관통력, 실제로 참전한 전차 삭제, 네트워크 핑, 서버 등 많고 그리고 고인물 때문에 저는 이 게임을 그리 추천하지 않습니다. 문제를 대부분 고치면 제 친구들한테 추천하겠지만, 지금 현재 상태로는 추천 않합니다.

    I've been playing this game on and off since air open beta, and at this point the game is beyond saving if they continue like this. The only way to progress at any sane rate is to have a premium vehicle and premium account, otherwise you are actively losing silver lions every match. Just don't play anymore, they have the gall to threaten closing the game so let's see if they're bluffing or not.

    This game is just awful, Gaijin couldn't care less about the game and the community, Germany players just whinning and crying everywhere about Germany suffers even though it's the best nation in the game with 70% winrate and they still get buffed and get new op tanks. There is no simulation or realism in this game, just 2 modes called Realistic Battles and Simulator.     Раньше было забавно, но последние обновления превратили игру в доильню, где уже толком невозможно заработать и прокачаться без премиум аккаунта. Зато мыло, баги с физикой и отсуствие баланса как было, так и осталось.

Features are released in half baked states and the publisher actively implements harmful mechanics which are designed to make the game more frustration to play.     Good luck to players who intend to play higher than tier 4-5, top tiers require premium, and preferably premium + premium vehicles.

    Playing without a premium account totally misses the point, you will rarely be able to collect enough points to come out on plus with Silver Lions.     The last update with the new economy (VERY invasive by the way) only activated an avalanche of rage from people - who have been struggling with the economy of this game for years - for years the economy has been worsened to force people to buy a premium account.

    Gaijin should be ashamed, apologize and improve the economy of the game immediately - preferably by removing the cost of vehicle repairs - that would probably be enough.

    It is a great pity that such a situation has occurred, because the game itself is unique, there is simply no other such game with such mechanics.    … Expand

    If you want to be a fighter pilot, this is your game. If you want to fly a bomber or drive a tank, you'll spend your time getting killed by fighters or helicopters. They refuse to add a mode for tanks-only.

    Total trash game completely pay to win, you can grind the game for months and be tier 5 or pay £50 and get to max tier, don't download its a waste of space

    Planes have their own mode since release 2012 but the company is unable to provide this for Tanks despite the player numbers going up.

    Bad balancing attempt via repair costs(if you fail you get punished double).
    Airplane only modes exist for years but no Tank only mode.
    Tank mode is always with airplanes/Helicopters than kill you out of thin air. Gets worse the higher you go. This is one of the reasons why I stopped playing Ground Forces.
    Naval mode is boring, going to the dentist is more fun.
    "Events" are never fun.
    Lack of PvE/Coop modes for chill game.
    Made only PvE mode ridiculously harder in order to force players back into Ground mode.
    The higher the Battle rating you come, the less fun the game becomes.
    Introduced more and more guided missiles and higher Air battles remind more an more of Ace Combat, except Air Combat is fun.
    Bugs: Invisible tanks, planes, trees with buggy large collision boxes... Immortal Airfields. Failing hit registration for Air and Ground battles. Disconnects, crashes.

    Suspect payed Forum users that act as undercover moderators, that being said the Forum moderation is feces. Company buys likes for their Youtube videos.    … Expand

    2000 hours into this game. 1200$ also.

    RUN AWAY from this game it's not worth your time I swear. It's after your money and only your money. Everything is pay to play or pay to win inside the game. The devs made everything a cashgrab.
    Like the frog and the boiled water, it's made to take away your money without you realising it.

You jump on this son of b*tch game from a son of a b*tch dev, just to get your a** blazed by some level 100 players on lowest tier games, worse, their crews have maximum training and definitely are better than your sh*tty newly bought crews. But it's fine, you may think, it's just game after all. You queue for the next and the next games. In one game, you want to chill with your scrub tier 1 tank and BAM, uptiered MOFO. And in another game, BAM you get shot by some glorious plane warrior in a game full of tanks, to make it worse, now there're planes with bloody cannons. Because planes need attention too said our "beloved" Dev aka Gaijin aka RUSSIANS. Finally, you overcome all the negative feelings just to realize the MOFO on other side paid more than you and he's plowing through your team with his premium babies. After many games, your researching vehicle progress still stuck at about 10% and the option to pay for research point appears.

    Terrible developers, refuse to address any of the issues with the game, such as miniscule maps, CAS spam and spawn camping, in favour of adding more overpowered premiums, have not once listened to anyone who has played more than 20 minutes of the game and it shows in their continued ineptitude. Avoid at all costs.

Вы не собьёте противника до тех пор, пока игра сама этим не распорядится. То же самое и в танковых боях. Вы уверены, что пробьёте эту Пантеру подкалибером? Не-а. Вы не пробьёте её. Игра всё спишет на мифический рикошет, на баг, на что угодно, но пробития не будет. Когда вдоволь настрадаетесь, МОЖЕТ БЫТЬ, данная механика станет на вашу сторону и поможет вам.
    - Топы. Здесь постараюсь быть лаконичным. Просто возьмите F-104 Starfighter и попробуйте повоевать против всяких МиГов, Фантомов и прочих. Сразу увидите что к чему.
    - Графика. Казалось бы, за графику я мог бы подрисовать единичку в оценку к игре, но нет, я не буду этого делать. Объясню почему. Вернёмся снова на землю. Попробуйте включить и выключить траву в прицеле. Да и не только в прицеле, а и вообще. Чувствуете разницу? Верно. Чем хуже у тебя настройки графики, тем виднее тебе противника. В то время, когда я хочу насладиться ультра настройками, меня вполне может выцелить какой-нибудь нубик с минимальными настройками графики, которого я бы даже в упор не разглядел. Разрабы подыгрывают "бичарам"?
    В общем, игра для тех, кому некуда девать свои кровные. Никому не советую.    … Expand

    The icing on the cake, an endless number of bugs and cheats that spoil the game. Don't throw any more, the yard is full!

    There are still very nice graphics and sometimes realistic ballistics, but that's not enough to make a good game.
    It's really sad, because War Thunder has elements that could make it a real gold nugget.

The game is not that hard to hack or cheat in small ways like say making your ammunition ignore collision with objects making it possible to shoot through rocks, terrain, and buildings that normal players cant shoot through in tank realistic mode, I have seen about 3 of these in a single day. There are many many bugs that Gaijin refuses to patch or fix, the maps are just outright awful. They keep taking away things that used to be free or awesome features from players, for example it used to be possible to paint your entire biplane red. Not only have they removed that feature but removed the players paintjobs they (when it was a thing) spent hours painstakingly making it just right why?? Because the Gaijin devs according to what they told me, quote "realized they could just charge people for it and then remove it". This game was very fun back in like 2015 or so, every few years I come back to see if Gaijin finally improved things, but the reality is it just gets worse every time. Avoid this game! I imagine everyone would avoid it if there was a game that filled in the niche better.… Expand

    - TOO MANY HACKERS - Top tier has too many cheaters especially since the Asia server shut down. I have found 6 aimbot+wallhackers (confirmed via replay from their perspective) in just a week of playing at top tier! And the worst part is that I reported them in every way possible weeks ago. Their accounts are still up.

Their accounts are still up.

NATO tanks don't get their correct armor and are often 10+ years older than the Russian counterparts. Don't bother playing top tier if russia is not generally on your team.
    - ANTI FRANCE ITALY BIAS - One of their wives must have cheated on them with a french-italian man, because these two nations are gimped in incredibly petty ways that make them pure pain to play especially at high-top tier.

Repair costs which make you need to pay real money to get in-game funds, as the match rewards are inadequate. Gaijin manipulates its player base into paying more and more money.     Then they "fix" the game for a week or two, they fix the bugs they want, "smaller" ones they see as non esential linger for longer if not for ever as some trademark or something....

    Now lets dive into their "coding"
    Match maker is a joke, one fight you get a steamroll team where you look at the enemy tank and before you fire or just as you fired some of "maniacs" in your team kills it
    Other option is epic fail team, that has 15 kills (5-10 usually mine) and 12 tickets left, yday i had a "privilege" of being in air realistic with 3 epic bots, got one kill in unaviodable headon and died after doing some ground targets, so im spectating 3 "team mates" and one enemy bomber circling around his airfield
    All this bots should have done is pick of ground targets to get the ticket lead but that one bomber won after 10 minutes of pathethic bots insulting him for "airfield camping"
    Comunity is mostly, plane and simple, retarded, learning curve of a dead stone (i know stones cant be alive but i like to emphasize) on the bottom of a lake...
    Gaijins fault, because its their game, and they failed miserably at geting new players to learn the game through decent tutorial, famous youtubers make things worse with dumbass oversimplified advices
    Further more, the "toxicity" of some players is simply logical, if you consider how annoying the game can be, so basicly, gaijin makes a p.o.s. game that annoys the hell out of people, and than all of a sudden people are toxic without any reason (i know its not cool but lets face it, if your pissed off because you wasted 500 bulets from couple guns on a bot player that is flying straight after your bomber without even trying to dodge the bullets only to get couple hits and maybe a crit just to get killed by that persistant bot you will sooner or later call him a retarded monkey...)
    Tutorial in the game is teaching players wsad left right klick, basic driving and shooting, in a game that can have 50% of the keyboard keybinded with something usefull.....
    God forbid they explain stuff like flanking or cooperation, helping team mates in need of fliping over after bomb blast fliped them if they were lucky enough to survive...
    Air realistic with a bomber is a nice example how stupid game can be, instead of telling people how much bombs of what "caliber" they need to take down a base you are left out there to guess, and since i stated that thing about learning curve all you can see is how people are dive charging the closest base and droping all they can on the base and quite often dying in the next min or two...
    In a real war, pilot gets his mission, 99% of the cases in great detail....
    It is also very "heart warming" when a patch changes the base hp, and they tell you they changed the base hp, but they dont say from what hp to what hp....
    Hitboxes
    I would dare to say that hitbox is the single most important part of shooter game, so there you are, waiting behind a cover of some building rubble for a "rabbit" that will probably try and zoom into uncaped base over the clearing, you see one, you smile, 250m away, clean side shoot with 90% chance of one shoot, pop out of cover, shoot, and hit the rubble....that is shown to be 0.5m left of your barrel when you look at it.....
    Or you are flying low 5-10 meters over the buildings, just to hit a rooftop, that is shown to be atleast 5m bellow you....
    Maybe some invisible alien satelite dish...
    This was just two examples from two maps in two game mods
    There is also naval
    Where people charge a ship with their airplane, flying straight at the ship, not trying to avoid the bullets, out of 20x2x20mms, plus couple 40mms, 4-5 100mm secundary guns with proximity shells, just so you can get a plane kill just as he droped a bomb on you and killed you, because science times number of bullets divided by that bot not avoiding.....
    They basicly took pure math game (penetration minus armour equals pen or no pen) and they added some "x factor" in it

    And after all said they charge 30-40-50-60 euros per tank/plane/ship (ofc there is around 100 or even more premiums available)

    -Horrible in-game economy that punishes players with poor match performances with lost of in-game currency (Sliver Lions) due to repair cost of vehicles that just get higher and higher the further up the tech tree you go. If you buy GL you can buy SL, if you buy Perm Account you get more SL after a match (even then you can still lose SL), buy a Perm Vehicle if gives you a boost in SL earned. The **** wine/lose reward system incentive using real game money to be able to play the game on constant bases even with a few poor match here and there. If you run out SL you can't repair vehicles after match and have to wait X amount real world days for those vehicles to be repaired.
    -A Company that say their listening but really doesn't; numerous issue with the game that players have been preaching about for YEARS from the forums to reddit to YouTube.

The developers will tell you they deserve more because monetization, but they've been doing amazingly well since the player boom from the pandemic, and lots of newbies giving out free high reviews, this is not what the game actually looks like, or is even after say, 10-20 hours of playing. (and you will be playing a lot if you want even a low rank vehicle)

    To anyone reading about this for the first time, tread carefully since this game is addictive, and soul crushing. The monopoly it holds in this genre is astounding, and the developers refuse to admit their fault when it comes to handling the game by "using statistics over years" over actually playing the game or listening to players.     Overall, the game is kinda balanced, but playing it you'll experience and notice certain vehicles for certain nations are being quite a bit favoured by the developers, some vehicles being too weak for what they encounter, some vehicles definitely being too strong. Then there is also the fact that pretty much all vehicles when initially researched are not really capable to compete with its counter parts as they come stock. Crucial components being locked till you either pay real money to unlock them, or by grinding the vehicle. High tier planes being hurt the most from this approach as all enemies will have Anti Air Missiles and you not having flares to counter these as you have to research them first.

    Map design
    I can only assume its made by the unpaid intern. Some maps are cool, a lot are complete **** Especially so considering that some maps are impossible to be properly played on certain tiers, but Gaijin doesn't care, limiting certain maps to certain tiers is too hard for them I guess.

    So yeah tl.dr.:
    Gaijin keeps making the grind harder and harder so that even just having a premium account is not enough any more.
    Balancing is often based on made up lies without any transparency on actual statistics.
    Maps are often a complete joke. (Getting killed in spawn from the enemies spawn and vice versa)
    Bugs and Bug reports are regularly being ignored or dismissed.
    Certain cosmetics are giving you a unfair advantage and Gaijin is refusing to fix this issue.

    If you wanna play the game, go for it, but I suggest not to pay any money on the game till Gaijin actually starts fixing these issues.    … Expand

    The game at its core its good but the greedy devs have ruined the economy for them to be able to milk to the last penny of his playerbase with in-game micro transactions, premium account and vehicles.

    since the last update it is unplayable, it is harder to get any new vehicle and ur stuck either in low tier or having to buy premium vehicle for 70$ just to get a little easier

    I have been playing since the early days of this game before jets and tanks were even a thought in this game.

    I have played on the stand alone client and then moved to the steam client version when it came to steam.     Since I started playing top tier I've bought premium time every time it's on sale. Even then it doesn't solve the economy issues, it just makes them a little more bearable.

    The thing is, the net rewards I get now WITH PREMIUM TIME are less than the net rewards I got a few years ago without it. How does that work? Gaijin creates a problem, and sell the solution, except the solution doesn't work.

    Playing Sweden is downright impossible, and having fun at anything over 7.0 in any nation is a laughable suggestion.

    It's almost as if Gaijin has learnt that a lot of the playerbase 'subscribe' to war thunder, mainly due to gaijin's continuous negative economy changes, that war thunder is pretty much now accepted as a subscription game, especially over 7.0. given the large proportion of subscribers, the general earning of vehicles get skewed up, thus gaijin has to change them in order to push more premium vehicles, and premium time onto players. The problem is, most of those players are already paying for premium time. Premium time is no longer an option that lets you progress faster, it's a subscription to the game, and you suffer the same as F2P players at lower tiers do. This is Unacceptable.

    Gaijin has even admitted that tech tree vehicles are balanced to not be profitable. In a game that relies on players making in-game money to progress, giving them vehicles that are designed to cause them to lose SL does not make them want to spend more on the game, it turns them away.

    More and more premium vehicles get added every update, but the F2P and premium subscription players get shafted with rewards decreases and repair cost increases.

    As much as I appreciate Gaijin needs to make money, their operating costs haven't significantly increased, yet the playerbase and number of paying customers has. Many players, myself included, would be far more inclined to spend money on the game if the changes benefitted the paying players. Selling a premium jet for the price of an AAA game is ridiculous, given this is generally not a one-off purchase for the individual, they may buy others. AAA games that sell for half as much still get continuous updates, despite the sales pretty much being the purchase of the game. I'm sure MANY players would pay for war thunder, even subscribe (as a lot do already) if the game actually rewarded them for spending their hard earned money on it.

    Again do not play or spend any money on this game till Gaijin turns the greedy ass around and makes the game something that is enjoyable to play.    … Expand

    While the game itself are great with spot that can be improved upon. The developer or the people who made the decision are the champion in hating it fanbase while also milk the aforementioned fanbase wallet dry.

    Absolutely horrible game.

    Rewards are horrible (even with premium), getting to the very top vehicles can take over a year of you time and the game just isn't fun.

    The game is going downhill, devs constantly increasing the repair cost of vehicles making the game really frustrating and honestly not fun anymore, they are testing to what limit they can push this and get away with it, we cannot let them do this.

    One of the cornerstones of War Thunder is that player’s skill is more important than his wallet. Premium vehicles offer no combat advantages, there is no “microtransaction-only” ammo or consumables, so no amount of cash will buy you a spot on the top of the food chain. [Issue#216, p.56]

    The official launch of War Thunder reminded me why I like this game so much. It's adorably chaotic - in contrast to the reliably designed World of Tanks. That's why it can be really fun and frustrating at the same time. There's tons of great vehicles (and the planes are superb!) and a difficult simulation mode, but there are also balance and technical issues.
