Undercover: Operation Wintersun may have its flaws, but that doesn’t prevent it from being a very satisfying exercise in espionage. Besides, with so many games being dumbed down to accommodate gamer’s allergic to a healthy challenge, it’s hard not to appreciate a title that demands more of players than simple blind clickery.
-
AceGamezA fine example of a traditional adventure game, with an engaging storyline, challenging puzzles and visuals and sound that combine for a good atmosphere. It's without a doubt the best point and click game I've played in a long time, despite its flaws.
-
Overall, Undercover: Operation Wintersun is well worth playing for fans of traditional adventures.

PC GamerAlso, the stability of the mission is precarious--it may crash abruptly and cause you to restart from your most recently saved information. [Mar 2008, p.78]
-
Enjoyable. Still, lots more could have been done with this setting, particularly in terms of adding in more types and settings that reinforce the War. The story, though brief, is definitely enjoyable but the voice actors just can't manage to work up enough energy to really get things going.
-
It’s just so frustrating. Not only the puzzles, for all the wrong reasons, but the fact that what could have been a perfectly decent adventure has been yet again held back by the same old ridiculously common mistakes.
-
Spy-story noir meets ridiculous adventure-game puzzles in this misguided tale of Nazis and nukes.
