A story thinner than the moons atmosphere, forgettable characters, almost no mission variety and not a single good boss are making this game inspite the good ideas involved mediocre at best. The Darkzone is broken and the rest is just a endless grind on steroids.

Game-play is super fun and the world is beautiful. Coop is some of the best I've played in a recent game. It does however sometimes get a little repetitive however during a long solo play session, but finding a good piece of gear brings you right out of it.

This game is very mediocre with some good aspects. The cover mechanics are decent but on PC it can take a while to get used to. One of the best things about the game is the abilities, perks and talents. One of the best things about the game is the abilities, perks and talents. They allow for so much customization with each ability being unique and have different perks to them if you want like the sticky bomb can have a bigger explosion and deal more damage. The perks and talents affect your character with the all the talents being different with some being better than others. The perks are unlocked by upgrading you Base of Operations. The guns and armor can all have different perks and that is nice as you will hardly ever find the same piece with the same buffs but there are so many that it is difficult to completely customize your character the way you want as there can sometimes be to much to control. The "story" mission are fun and interesting with all of them being different but it lacks interesting characters on the "good" side with some of the "bad" guys being unique and interesting. The world it is in has a very depressing and ominous feel to it when you discover things like mobile recordings and echo's. The collectibles are cool and give a back story to a game that has no story but there is so much to collect that sometimes it can get annoying when the next one is on the other side of the map.

Next is PVP which isn't the best but can sometimes have fun moments. However, the problems are numerous and even with the recent patches there are still huge problems. I feel like enemies don't spawn outside of landmarks which forces you to fight extremely hard enemies that are like Chuck Norris on speed. Also, don't bother going in solo as every enemy will kill you in seconds and you can be an easy target for rogue agents. The drops in general are OK but I find it annoying that I get greens or blues when I have full purples as there is no point in picking them up as you can only carry 7-9 items that you should save for purples or yellows. This game is OK but there are many problems with it and the problems are easy to fix with a few patches but we shouldn't have to wait 1-2 months before we get the game we were meant to get. It is a trend that could severely damage the industry.

    Thanks for reading.

+1 Mods More in depth weapon modding than Destiny had. Although game is pretty lame in the fact the currently everyone builds a Vector, which is instantly give you a huge power buff. I wish after level 30 there were multiple paths that made since but currently building Vector is the only logical direction.

Problems - Going Rouge in Dark zone is not worth it
    - After you play through game the world is pointless, only the instanced dailies and dark zone matter. The rest of the work is just a waste of space you have to fast travel over.
    - Shotguns are terrible. Sub machine guns destroy shotguns. Unless you are a bot, then you 1 hit everyone.
    - The cosmetic crap is pretty lame. I have 50 trapper hats I hate them all. out of my 100 hats one is half way cool. would much rather have cosmetic armor showing.
    - Sponge. The bullet sponges didn't bother me to much till end game. now it is just annoying. Really something to consider in future shooter RPGs, but shooting a computer in the head with 30 sniper bullets and they are running around no big deal is pretty annoying.
    - Story mode well existing is pretty underwhelming and more often than not annoying.
    - Minor glitches. anything from fast traveling to wrong place, no being able to get down cover, no shooting over cover properly, and errors that drop me from game, I can be shot by a player but they don't go rouge and they just grief you by shooting you once every 10 seconds till you go rouge, or when I beat a mission all of a sudden the dialogue that was suppose to play throughout the missions starts and its like 10 minutes of nonstop chatter.

Overall its a cool idea but not worth investing in further. Will not purchase the DLCs. The entire end game concept is broken because in the end your best gear is crafted and you either do that by doing dailies and slowly earning enough credits, or ban with a bunch of people in DZ and go around in a large circle instantly getting you best gear in one night.

DZ is overrun with hacker and cheater. Gladly that doesn't matter because PvP is not worthwhile.

A few months before the release I got into that Beta. I hated it, it was clunky, buggy and just overal sad. So I decide not to buy the game, since I'd probably never play it. But soon after, my brother managed to convince me to buy it anyway, so I was like okay what the hell. Lets do it. I don't regret it, even though this game frustrates me at times, but it's really enjoyable.

    PROS
The overall game play is just really enjoyable to me. I visited New York City once in my life, and its just fun too see the little things I still recognize. I really like the missions, and collecting different appearance items. And nothing is more enjoyable than bragging about a new cool piece of gear to my brother. The game is pretty challenging at times which makes it more fun. The skills are pretty cool, but I do feel like they could have done more. I could say something about the graphics, but I honestly do not care.

    CONS
The AI frustrates the hell out of me, even though the challenging part is fun. There is just something really annoying about fighting 6 Rikers in front of you and getting 6 other Rikers in your back because for some reason they feel compelled to fight you. Some AI just storm you whenever you in cover and shoot you from the side. Which kind of beats the purpose of cover. I personally don't enjoy the DZ, It's high risk high reward, but right now Rogue agents just swarm the extraction points and wait. And lastly, some missions trigger while walking, and you pull the mobs. Which is really annoying whenever you just want to do another mission. Yes i get that this is an RPG and that's just what happens, but in this game its just a little frustrating. There are still a few bugs, but I'm not going to judge the game on it.

It looks like they are improving, and I love to play this game, since i'm not paying monthly I don't feel forced to play it. So it's nice casual MMORPG shooter. Which i can generally recommend to people who enjoy these type of settings and games.

An important game in game history. It takes many aspects of gameplay and graphics to a new and up-to-date state. For what it is, this game is amazingly stunning. The option to build teams quick and spontanious is one of the best ideas ever (and the mechanics behind this). Iam addicted and now other games can build on that new level of design.

If you don't like PVP you eventually won't enjoy this game. So lets get started. This game is a melting pot of multiple genres of games and gives off this jack of all trades master of non kind of vibe. The game itself takes place in a freshly Re-Uncivilized New York, that has been struck with a virus that broke down the city. Rioters roam the streets and the military can't control the violence. So the government calls in The Division: a group of elite soldiers, in an attempt to retake the city from the gangs. This is where the mission structure comes in. Most of the missions in the game have you going to a certain area, clearing out all the thugs there, fighting a boss, and getting loot. This same structure is used for almost every main mission. I feel this game is best experienced with a group of people that you play through the missions with. Ity doesn't even have to be the same group of people every time but I still recommend you play them with a group as it makes for a better experience. This is where the game being repetitive comes into play. As said the mission structure is almost the same for every main mission And for some people this is a huge problem. If you enjoy left 4 dead then you'll get what i am talking about. The story of the mission changes while the structures is basically the same. Which can really bother some people but as a person who grew up on beat em ups I don't bother it and I thinks it's part of the reason i enjoy the hell out of this game. The division Is a shooter with slight MMO elements and an RPG type loot and xp system. It's clearly built to be like destiny in a sort of way. The game has a HUGE area in which players can PVP in the Dark Zone. You can find better loot in the Dark Zone. (BTW know the command to do jumping jacks by heart.) The way the Dark Zone is set up to assure that you don't get screwed over by someone way higher level then you. The game itself looks beautiful even on the low settings the my 660ti can handle. I had minor problems when first starting up the game but those were fixed easily. Ubisoft is usually really good about making well optimized games. So my final Verdict? If you can't enjoy a game because its repetitive then this is definitely not for you, but if you think you'll enjoy it you probably will. Expand

I give it 2/10 only for the nice visuals and athmoshpere before you get into the end-game called "Dark Zone".
In theory DZ is great concept of PvPvE area where you meet other agents, cooperate to defeat hard mobs and someone may be tempted to turn against you for a pvp combat to get your loot. Then they have to deal with the other agents nearby who will try to hunt them down.

In theory DZ is great concept of PvPvE area where you meet other agents, cooperate to defeat hard mobs and someone may be tempted to turn against you for a pvp combat to get your loot. Then they have to deal with the other agents nearby who will try to hunt them down.

    Thats about the theory...

In practise, the DZ is a place where you will loose your faith in humanity. If you are nto enjoying backstabing, betraying and murdering innocent people, you will be the one who gets backstabed, betrayed and murdered even by those who could have died by your hand multiple times if you only wished so, but you didnt cause you dont like it, and was sure they will be a little gratefull for that - what kind of person murder someone who just helped them, right?

Devs really made a great arena for all kind of sociopaths. People who run around there, will always murder anyone weaker than them (2v1, 4v1, 4v2 and so on...), having delight in backstabbing and nuking people within so little time, there is no way to even call it a combat.

Deserted lands of Darkzone completly negate the theory of high risk and high reward for the rogues. Rogues who within short time will become "non-hostile agents" again, safe from any form of justice and retribution.

So you have to strip the DZ end game of the illusion of some advanced systems of risk, rewards and retributions, and call it what it is: A very beautiful in terms of visual, but crude, clunky, unbalanced pvp shooter, where everyone will backstab you if you dont backstab them. So if you arent sociopath, you wont have fun. You need to know that once you reach endgame you must forget about the lore, the visuals and the concept of the Division agents - it ends there. Insetad you will just hear the proximity chat of some weird sounding people acting like psychopaths. Its disgusting place to be in. There is no game to be found there, its more like social experiment where people with absolutely no moral code dominate the ones who wont act like serial killers.

You just reached extraction point and see 2 people loosing to the NPC waves, one of them down on the ground? If you wont execute them on sight, you lose, becouse if you help them, after you all finish the mobs, they will kill you. If you arent cold blood psychopath you are free kill loot hoarded. Why free kill? Becouse when smoene decide to murder you, it happens in 1-2 seconds.

Just remember this is not a tactical shooter, or any kind of shooting simulation.
This is a loot based game (like Diablo, Torchlight or similar action RPG's where you collect better and better gear as you progress) in a "real world" enviroment and GTA style combat with cover system (as in Mass Effect). You shoot things until they die. If your weapon DPS is weak, you will have to shoot longer in onder to bring their HP to 0, just like in other action RPG's.

Weapon variety is great, with ridiculous amount of different mods.

Potential of this game is just huge...but you need to try it to believe it, you will not be dissapointed! (unless you seek tactical shooting simulator).

I was very torn between giving this an 8 or a 7. I would've gone with 8 for breadth alone, it is a very large and fleshed out game, but it's scale doesn't cover its lack of depth.

In the end, The Division feels like another play-and-put down AAA title that I've become all too accustomed to seeing. Huge budget, zero heart.

PVE does and will be receiving some love for players after level 30. Up until then it is a ton of fun but after 30 it does lose some luster. I would suggest taking it slow, enjoying the game, and getting in some DZ time. There is planned DLC and if you are on the fence perhaps wait to buy the game until some more DLC has come out.

First of all, to all the reviewer who gave between 0 and 4 as a score, honesty is not a quality in your personality. Come on!!
Let's get on to it. The graphics are awesome, the sound environment is not too bad. You can feel that you are in a city left in ruin. It can get repetitive to hear the same scream sometimes but, it is not the worst sound environment that i heard in a video game.

At the beginning, the game is trying to insert you as an operative part of the Division. I was a little bit disappointed when i realize the weakness of the character creation. It's frustrating when you're entering a Safe House and you encounter a bunch of clones. Ubisoft should have made a character creator solid as the Skyrim one in my opinion. After that, you are eager to build you char and unlock the most of the Skills to be able to try them. After a while, it's getting boring and repetitive.
The Dark Zone is not a bad idea but, it takes a bunch of low life to destroy the fun and that's what you usually meet. I don't care to be stripped of the items i successfully found but after that, give me a break!! Go away! Anyway. The Division do not deserve a 0 or a 3, it deserves a 7 and over. Ubisoft did not reinvent the wheel with The Division but it's a nice wheel ;-) Maybe in the future, they will innovate by listening to the users.

    But a 0!?!?! Not a chance....

Overall, The Division's MMO aspirations tie its hands a bit and get in the way of its shooter personality and fundamentals. Its an incredible experience and one that no one should miss. I just wish there was more variety to the leveling.

what really really bugs me about this game is the enemys. no motion capture used at all, they run around like they have come straight from syphon filter 1 on the original playstation. a kind of wooden leg **** themselves type of run. can take 5 steps to get nowhere doing a forward moonwalk. they have no detail all lookng the same and will run towards you even when your locked on shootingwhat really really bugs me about this game is the enemys. no motion capture used at all, they run around like they have come straight from syphon filter 1 on the original playstation. a kind of wooden leg **** themselves type of run. can take 5 steps to get nowhere doing a forward moonwalk. they have no detail all lookng the same and will run towards you even when your locked on shooting in there face. years spent making the game look decent then a day copy and pasting said enemy all over the map. they look ****e! gameplay is basically use 1000 bullets killing 5 enemys. run a few blocks do the same again. boring. more realistic characters with better a.i and no bullet sponges would have made the game playable for me Expand

I was not realy hyped for this game, not even after the Beta. But I was really interested in the setting so I thought I could take a look. I would always recommend it.

Empty shell of a game is a best description for this product. I will not complain about graphics, despite the downgrade its still very pretty game. Sound is also very good. Looks pretty and handles well. Thats about it, sub-par everything else. The shift from leveling to end game grinding is harsh making it super repetitive. The DZ holds little value and seems tacked on. The game seemed like a really good concept but poorly executed. Something about pve mobs taking entire clips from military weapons and still going is also very immersion breaking.

Afer more than 60 hours of gameplay: Its a tech demo with a mediocre game on top.

Especially the Dark Zone: I would call it Rage Zone. If you want to have good gear, you must go into the Dark Zone. But getting good gear requires you to reach level 50 to buy their blue prints. The high level gear drops from mobs are so rare. And if you happen to have a yellow drop, you are probably

This experiment of having PvP and PvE combined, has failed. If you die in die Dark Zone, you lose so much that you simply rage quit and wait for a game which is worth raging in (looking at you, Dark Souls 3).

    Positives are:

It's an average game, simple entertainment for the simple mind. Division is a typical AAA product, on the outside nice and shiny, on the inside mundane and primitive systems reveal themselves.

Carrot on a stick: Basically the whole game revolves around you searching for loot in order to be stronger than your enemies, there no other real substance right now, but this will probably be covered by all the pay DLC that they have planned out for the 1 year to finish their game and provide more worthwhile content, or they deliver a batch of more stale Fast Food, we will see.

This gear dependency alone makes PVP a chore to balance and to set foot in as casual gamers, let alone enjoy the Dark Zone with it's severe penalties to engage in PVP. It's like the game highly encourages you to stick to pve or create a second character where you can cut away the risk of losing loot.

I can understand when people enjoy the simple things, but this turn off brain & shoot everything game shows me that the AAA industry has no balls or are simply not willing to release something really worthwhile. This is basically the Destiny formula in a modern setting, with a nice carrot on a stick as core mechanic to keep people interested. I already see streamer after streamer getting bored from the game, since it's really all the same over and over.

Wait for a sale where they sell everything for 30 bucks. imo the game is not worth more than that.

It took The Division a lot of time to reach our computers and consoles, but it was worth waiting for. We have already spent about 200 hours with it collectively and we’re not planning on abandoning it, because it is, simply put, outstanding and shows amazing potential for the future. [05/2016, p.30]

An immensely thrilling action-MMO hybrid, but good for 30 hours rather than the hoped-for 300. [May 2016, p.70]
