Ubisoft said this would be a solo game with optional pvp in their interviews, so I bought it.
What they didn't tell you are:
*best loot is found in the DZ(pvp) *the endgame is the DZ I don't get that companies do this kind of crap all the time. Making pve people forced to do the game mode that they don't want. If i want to be camp sniped when entering an area i would have bought DayZ.

It has that feel of "Make your own story" kinda game because the devs could not be bothered to write a real good one.
Despite it's good graphics, it's just an f2p game with a AAA price when you realize the small content that it has.
    I'm done with this game.

Empty shell of a game. Very repetitive. Graphics in the initial trailer are totally not representative of what you will find in the final build. So I don't recommend this game.

You only defend, attack or get someone/something...thats it!
This game is following the boring Watch Dogs game design.
Also this game has tons of bugs and crashes...sometimes you will get stuck in the console-ish menu's.
And if you think you can later meet great "bosses", no way! Even the boss enemies are are just the same on and on, no special abilities, no fancy design, just always the same "human" boss with no special gun.
Well okay, the only "interesting" boss is the last boss in this game.

So if you think this game is worth paying 40-60$ for just 22 hours and many grinding, go buy it...
Even diablo 3 was more fun, because it has a nice creature design, interesting bosses and items.
But the division has nothing always the same guns, same enemies, same missions, the map.
I can say, i will never ever buy a ubisoft game again, i will always wait for cheap sales, because they never worth it.
Watch Dogs has warned me, never pre-order a ubisoft game again, but it did...and here i am, warning other players wasting their money on this copy&paste game.

I gave this game a 9 until this happened. 4 days of falling through the world, missions not starting, getting to the end up challenge modes to only get mike errors which disco you from the game, and again falling through the world. It wears on you and people should be aware that there is a complete lack of communication from the Dev team to the players. They will lightly talk about it on twitch feeds but avoid the subject. They don't respond on the forums. They don't send in game messages, they have so many avenues to talk to people and let them know whats going on yet they are quite as church mice.

The exploiters are the worst. They should have rolled this patch back, yet they chose to bulldoze forward. Now the changes to crafting that upped the cost was a direct cause by people using exploits. Everyone suffered because of these cheaters. Now we have super human like hacking in the DZ. There is so much evidence, yet they don't do anything. They did do 3 day bans, but nothing else that I have seen. They refuse to name the users or say what bans handed out. They won't talk about the elephant in the room.

Okay character customization, not the best but you will look unique for the most part after a few hours.

    Cons:
    Frame Rate Drops
    Controls are **** stupid
    game-play gets old fast
the open world is very empty, as you run from one mission to the next with little to nothing in between.

The game is a little atmospheric, and thats all the game has going for it, but its not even at atmospheric as like dark souls or tomb raider

The idea for the game is not new but its cool coming in the form of a big AAA game. However, the idea and ground works for a game only takes you so far. honestly I like to judge games on the game feel, progression, and story. Well the story dose not leave you wondering at all, the second you boot up the game you know what caused the virus. The mystery behind the virus is known that, oh some organization did it by placing the virus on some twenty dollar bills; so I just didn't give a **** anymore. The gameplay is that of gears of war aside from some gadgets mixed in that don't amount to much.

This game is just a cheap cash in that does nothing original. It's just a shallow third person cover shooter with other players and loot (whoop de do). The graphics are good but they pulled a Watch Dogs again, meaning they lied to their consumers. There are microtransactions and plenty of connection problems. Just a overall shallow and cheaply made game for the casual gamers everywhere.

The end game is nothing but an endless grind for gear. You can get geared up in 1 night and spend the rest of your time doing the same stuff over and over again for a minor increase in stats.

This game is so incredibly dull and boring I have never been so turned off by a game before in my life, I'm actually a little offended at how lazily this thing was put together.

Many of the design decisions make absolutely no sense and the PC port is complete garbage, and on top of that the game itself is boring as hell. You spend 90% of your time just running around looking for some NPCs/Rogues/Agents to kill the end game content consists of harder versions of the same missions you'd completed dozens of times while leveling... the Dark Zone is the sole redeeming factor of this game because it's tends to be actually FUN in stark contrast to the rest of the game, however without any structure it's just a sandbox pew pew fest for trolls and lols and it's very, very uneven considering how some players are super geared from farming exploits which are RAMPANT in this game.

NO end game exclusive content , just the same crap over, and over. Oh Incursions you say?! They are just a warehouse you fight waves of enemies in! That's right! This is one of the most underdeveloped, boring, monotonous, laziest game Ubisoft has made since Watchdogs. Ubisoft has lost me as a customer, I will never again buy one of their games without waiting for in-depth reviews and I would recommend you do the same. Unless you really liked this game in which case you are insane, because it's complete, utter garbage.

Expectations were high when the game was released, and yet it crushed all hope set in it. I don't even know where to start... first, I played it ~41 hours in all possible ways, a lot of PvE, a lot of PvP, solo, in groups, etc. So you know what my opinion is based upon.

    So let's start.

First of all the graphics. While The Division looks really good, it is not as good as seen in several trailers (which is a quite common problem with games, I guess). Also, you'll experience significant FPS drops while playing, for no reason. This could be caused by your PC, but most likely, it's a server-sided problem.

Next point: the servers are very, very unstable, resulting in random disconnects, login problems and all the other known issues. Plus the servers aren't divided into areas, it's quite possible for you to read korean, russian and a lot of other languages in the chats.

Now the multiplayer. Well. Cooperative is fun with friends, gotta admit, and playing with a good team is really cool. But on the other side, the Dark Zone (open PvP zone with PvE elements) and all its gameplay is neither balanced, nor fair, nor funny. It's grinding, and nothing else, just grinding, all the time.

Yet another problem in this game: Its items, its inventory, its weapons. The weapon system is similar to that of Borderlands/Borderlands 2, meaining the weapons have levels which define a weapons traits, like damage per second (DPS) and skills. The inventory itself is very overloaded and confusing, it'll take a while until you can actually handle it.

But now, something more positive: the games missions and plot. Most missions are very, very repetitive, you do them in the one sector, after having finished them, you proceed to the next one, do the same ones again, and all the same again. Sounds not very positive? True, but most missions are good ones in the first place, they just start getting boring after a few hours. The plot itself is interesting, and the whole game shows a realistic post-apocalyptic Manhattan after a huge catastrophe. The atmosphere is really good and immersive, and by collecting various collectibles, you'll get a lot of side informations about what could happen in an apocalyptic scenario, but also about main characters, villains etc. The plot itself is okay, with the Division being a secret government department which is activated after the catastrophe became too hard to handle for other departments, such as police and army (JTF, in this game, =Joint Task Force). But well, that's pretty much it.

Overall, this game can be very frustrating, boring and repetitive, especially after you finished the main storyline, but it can also be funny in multiplayer - beside technical difficulties and bugs. What annoys me the most is the lost potential, because Manhattan, even though it looks graphically good, seems so... lifeless and empty. There's not much to do for you except missions and occasionally help a citizen, and this is just a waste for the good and interesting setting.

Because of all of this, it gets 3/10 from me.

The graphics were dumbed downed, the features they promised are there, but in a somewhat diminished capacity from what was originally promised, I can't really blame them though, the game still looks fantastic.

The Problem is with the artificial scaling, lack of meaningful content at endgame, repetitive nature of the dailies and the boundless, exploits, glitches and hackers, ohhh god the hackers....
The dark zone has become polluted with too many cheaters to be really fun, the drop rates have been nerfed and then now they are guarenteed, but only the gear that drops is no longer relevant so you will likely only get something useful maybe 2-4% of the time. The addition of Supply Drops, meant to be a catalyzing force to draw players together, do just that. but the stuff that drops out of it is so meaningless most of the time, your hoping players show up because they likely have better loot, yea you don't have to extract it but after clearing dozens of these things, the best piece of gear i got was something I had already gotten from the raid/Incursion. That brings me to my next point, the Incursion, cause there is only to one right now and to be honest it is god awful, yes there were some new enemy types and yes there was the slight introduction of what would be considered mechanics, but it can all be ignored and glitched so you don't actually have to fight any of it, chessing the boss directly which the just drops your loot and de-spawns all the enemies, no mess, fuss, no hassle just free loot.

So what does all this mean to the game, well as many other have already stated the game is basically a Diablo style game with guns, set in third person and if you like that style of game, of runnign the same thing over and over and over again just on the of chance you will get something that is slightly better than what you got from it already then even still this game is mediocre at best, looks great, astonishing at times, down right annoying at others (snowstorms come to mind). but in the end even a mediocre game is marred by exploits, glitches and hackers. I can't rightly recommend this game to anyone in its current state, and if the patches and fix priority that the developers have shown so far, not any time in the near future either.

Verdict: Go play a real shooter if you want to player a shooter. Go play a real Rpg if you want to play an Rpg. This game does a disservice to both genres, and it had so much potential too, the developers missed the ball by a long shot here.

An incredible beautiful game graphically, audio and UI wise. You feel you are in New York for real.
But the game has no meaning as long as the cheat prevention is absent. You will miss half the game because og this. Hence you are stuck with lots of gear you have no use for. The use of aimbots and wallhacks are extreme, and nothing is done to remove it.

The game is also unnecessarily burdened with daily and weekly lockout timers on content. This isn't a subscription-based game, and there's no need for it. Because of those lockouts, people exploit game bugs to farm more quickly than you can by playing legitimately.

The entire game is an overall mess. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it. Pass on this title. Wait a year or so until all the bugs and content are updated, and HOPE that it goes on sale.

The games content is extremely grindy even before end game, every mission or encounter is the exact same.

Incursion is just one giant meat grinder. Survive wave after wave in the same small area, with 0 save points. I can understand why people would rather glitch it then run it right, there is nothing rewarding about the gameplay in this mission.

+1 3rd person shooter - Although when using a scope on a sniper it becomes a less interested FPS this is a great COVERBASED 3rd person shooter which the PS4 needed.

+1 Mods More in depth weapon modding than Destiny had. Although game is pretty lame in the fact the currently everyone builds a Vector, which is instantly give you a huge power buff. I wish after level 30 there were multiple paths that made since but currently building Vector is the only logical direction.

Problems - Going Rouge in Dark zone is not worth it
    - After you play through game the world is pointless, only the instanced dailies and dark zone matter. The rest of the work is just a waste of space you have to fast travel over.
    - Shotguns are terrible. Sub machine guns destroy shotguns. Unless you are a bot, then you 1 hit everyone.
    - The cosmetic crap is pretty lame. I have 50 trapper hats I hate them all. out of my 100 hats one is half way cool. would much rather have cosmetic armor showing.
    - Sponge. The bullet sponges didn't bother me to much till end game. now it is just annoying. Really something to consider in future shooter RPGs, but shooting a computer in the head with 30 sniper bullets and they are running around no big deal is pretty annoying.
    - Story mode well existing is pretty underwhelming and more often than not annoying.
    - Minor glitches. anything from fast traveling to wrong place, no being able to get down cover, no shooting over cover properly, and errors that drop me from game, I can be shot by a player but they don't go rouge and they just grief you by shooting you once every 10 seconds till you go rouge, or when I beat a mission all of a sudden the dialogue that was suppose to play throughout the missions starts and its like 10 minutes of nonstop chatter.

Overall its a cool idea but not worth investing in further. Will not purchase the DLCs. The entire end game concept is broken because in the end your best gear is crafted and you either do that by doing dailies and slowly earning enough credits, or ban with a bunch of people in DZ and go around in a large circle instantly getting you best gear in one night.

If you are more of MMO person and want to play with friends, you will soon hit the wall and discover that the game is broken in so many ways. In theory you can build your character the way you want but in fact... upon doing some calculations there is 0.01% change the boss will drop the item you really want (I'm simplifying for all six stats on each high lvl item). Usually it takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete a mission that drops one of those high level items. If that doesn't speak to you, let me put it another way. I have approx 250 hours of gameplay and my friend has 50. You would think that my gear is so much better than his... oh well, not at all. The difference is 7 points in the gearscore (206 vs 199) - which translates to, 'no noticable difference'. I'll let you think about it. I have never came across a game with such a 'cruel' drop system. Yes, the game provides some customization of perks on the items you have but this is extremely limited (only 1 spec can be edited out of 5+), and each time you want to change it, you have to roll and pray. This is because each time you roll a new perk it costs more. To add to it, there are a lot of hackers in the game who walk around with miniguns (usually SMGs hacked to provide crazy damage without the need to reload). Few weeks back the dev team banned some hackers for 2 weeks... I guess you know where I'm going with this.
Furthermore the Dark Zone, which is the multiplayer zone, is so small that 3 teams of 4 can successfully clear 95% of the loot areas (where the bosses are with good *stuff). In the last 2 weeks of gameplay I enjoyed maybe 2 hours of gameplay in DZ.
I can keep going like this but there is no point. I have highlighted most transparent flaws of the game.
Is the game pretty, yes. Is the game fun, very... very rarely... take it from someone who 'wasted' so many hours.

The atmosphere is fantastic and you really get the feeling of being in NYC following a catastrophic event. I didn't mind the grind to 30 and there was enough instances to enjoy along the way. It was fun to watch your BoO transform and for people to being to populate it. The mechanics are pretty solid, with the exception of moving in and out of cover can cause frustration. These are the reasons I gave it a score of 2, because everything else about the game has been a disappointment.

There is very little class variation or ability to play a different style of game, such as being a tank or a healer. It's obvious there was some effort to create different classes, but it fall way short. So regardless of what build or talents you pick the game basically feels the same.

One of the issues with this game is the lack of end game content. The best equipment and weapons in the game are crafted, which defeats the purpose and fun of defeating a boss or instance. The last patch supposedly addressed this, but it truly failed to do so. Once you get enough materials to craft a new weapon or piece of equipment you are left to the mercy of a RNG and it doesn't seem random at all. In fact it seems to be weighted to prevent you from getting the kind of stats you are looking for. I crafted about 30 of the same gun and ended up with one that was acceptable, not ideal.

Glitching bosses is another issue. Players purposely glitched the game to kill the same boss over and over again. Where's the fun in that? While I never did it, I can understand it to a degree when you are subject to crafting the best stuff in the game and facing an imbalanced RNG. I dislike when people exploit an online game because it tends to ruin the over all feel and community of the game.

The biggest issue with this game is that hackers run rampant in the Dark Zone. Even after going through the process of reporting them it seems like nothing happens. One time my friends and I even had a guy in the DZ admit he was hacking and teleporting and said he would only get a two day ban so it was no big deal. This was after he had killed us with one shot and was hiding inside a vehicle, which isn't normally accessible, so it was impossible to shoot back at him.

How can you release an online multiplayer game without any form of anti-cheat requirements???? It's as though the developers and publisher want people to cheat. I know they say they are addressing the issue, but this is a game breaker that responding to such a serious oversight after release amounts to too little, too late for most players.

In a game where grinding levels and gear is required by running the same instance or route over and over and over again, even to the point of complete boredom, to have another player instantly kill you because they are cheating is infuriating. At first my friends and I were angry with the cheaters, but after it was obvious that cheaters were running around unchecked it became obvious that the true issue is Ubisoft and the game itself.

Don't waste your time or money. I wish it was different because this game has such potential.

Once we have the strongest points of the game out of the way, let's talk about the negative aspects. Overall, the game feels very empty. Being repetitive helps a lot with this. The enemies are not that different between them, in comparison with other RPGs. The areas are basically the same, and the accessible buildings are copy-paste. But the worse thing is the RPG elements. The character customization is a joke. The "skills tree" is the shortest I've ever seen, which also makes you feel like you're playing an empty game.

In conclusion, the graphics are great. But that's not all, Ubisoft. The funny part of the RPGs, which is progressing with your character, customizations, etc. are just a joke. The "campaign" is short, and after that you can only repeat again and again the same missions. Looking for a good shooter? Look elsewhere. Looking for a good RPG? Look elsewhere.

You will die in one hit and you cannot run away. It can be 4v1 and it won't matter. Trust me. It gets even better if he has a party of 2, 3, 4. PvP is a joke. Whoever spends the most time grinding since release is the "best players" (so sad to call them that). What does that leave you with? Redoing the missions 1,000 times in the hope for end game gear that will still not compare to the super grinders who have gotten the best possible combos of gear. If you really enjoy grinding for loot killing guys over and over in the same fashion then this game is totally for you. I really don't recommend doing it without 3 buddies who are going to play through the game and go dark zoning with you. Expand

I cant even say the multiplayer experience is that entertaining, it doesnt bring anything really new when you cooperate with teammates, its just your ordinary shooting experience. It is hard for me to get what ubisoft truly tried to achieve, i cannot see what their original goal was, but the result is an average shooting game with rpg mechanics. I cannot recommand it if you want a sinngle player experience because story is poor, but its not either your best choice if you want to play in multiplayer. I had already written one review on The Division around 2 months after it had released, I gave it a 5 then and since have had a change of heart in regards to that score. I had racked up 250 hours before writing the first review and have done considerable hours since.

Initially I had enjoyed playing this game, I'm not going to go into detail about that as it is in my initial review, I'm just going to concentrate on my experience after that which was not good. The game has so many flaws it really does beggar belief how it made it to retail, even now given the state of the game is should still not be released, bugs, exploits, glitches and the massively unbalanced nature of pvp, be it the glitch exploiters who farm the incursions for all the best gear or just plain cheaters.

When the Underground dlc dropped I was hoping that it would put the game back on track and fix some of the issues as well as give players some much needed variation, sadly after a week or so I realized that the Underground was also as linear as the rest of the game and just as tedious and repetitive. To make matters worse, the rewards for finishing in Challenging and Heroic were horrendously poor, the infinite grind (for me at least) was never rewarding. i tried pvp again and it was just as awful as last time, my character was reasonably strong 500damage and 400stamina yet while I was wasting masses of ammo clips on players, a few shots would always take me down, despite popping my alt and using the strengths of my build. Something was glitching or I was just always matched up against people who I had no chance of beating, the balance was way off, I lost interest after that and haven't been back since and I doubt I will.

I learned a valuable lesson though, never pre order and never buy dlc early, I threw a lot of money into this game and despite having done around 300 hours on it I still don't feel I have had my moneys worth. I should still be playing this game, sadly its faults are too big to be ignored and it just becomes boring, unrewarding and extremely repetitive to play. It's deleted from my hard drive and will probably stay that way.

So initially I gave it a 5/10, my experiences thereafter and the fact that fixes are still proving to be elusive have made me reconsider. I now give it a 1/10 and it can be lucky it got that 1 for the overall concept. The execution of everything in this game is what contributes to my new score of 1/10, shoddy, unfinished and extremely poor execution have sullied my perception of a game that initially at least I enjoyed.

Massive and Ubisoft promise fixes, sadly I have waited long enough and while 1.4 is imminent, sadly for Ubnisoft and Massive so is Battlefield 1, FIFA 16, Mafia 3 and a host of other games that will forever bury my interest in returning to this sorry spectacle of a game.

I seriously urge anyone who hasn't bought it yet to read extensively on it before buying or even better, get a hands on play from friends or something, I don't think it's current price is justifiable, especially when including the dlc. In fact, if I could I'd ask for a refund but I've already played too much of it. Be careful with this game and do your homework.

    1. Can't use my Crossfire set up, I have to disable one of the cards so I can play without having graphic issues. Yes my drivers are up to date.
    2. Endgame is bad and is unsatisfying, with a $60.00 price tag and to end it like they did, it burns me.
    3. Character Creation is basic, with all the work they put into the World, levels textures, lighting and effects, clothing and this is what you get, a few faces with a few hairstyles and tattoos?
    4. Really no replay value, unless you really want to replay the same mission over & over & over & over again with friends or without before moving off to another game.
    5. The Incursions are linear in design (what a waste with all that effort the DEV's did in building that world) .
    6. Pvp, Rogue, Crafting and Loot system is broken and terribly unbalanced, plus there is really no point to make the effort to grind at all in the Dark Zone. Especially if your a new player trying to grind solo for better equipment or to complete your DZ daily mission or trying to grind to craft better equipment. Check the Steam forums for additional problems
    7. Enemies re-spawning / appearing out of nowhere (DZ is really bad).
    8. Boss's in the game are just bullet sponges and it gets worst as the player progresses in the story. Instead of one magazine worth of bullets in the beginning and by the time player hits the middle of the story, it would take about 5-10 magazines worth of bullets. By the time the player is near the end of the story, they will need a restock box to refill their inventory of bullets.

In theory DZ is great concept of PvPvE area where you meet other agents, cooperate to defeat hard mobs and someone may be tempted to turn against you for a pvp combat to get your loot. Then they have to deal with the other agents nearby who will try to hunt them down.

    Thats about the theory...

In practise, the DZ is a place where you will loose your faith in humanity. If you are nto enjoying backstabing, betraying and murdering innocent people, you will be the one who gets backstabed, betrayed and murdered even by those who could have died by your hand multiple times if you only wished so, but you didnt cause you dont like it, and was sure they will be a little gratefull for that - what kind of person murder someone who just helped them, right?

Devs really made a great arena for all kind of sociopaths. People who run around there, will always murder anyone weaker than them (2v1, 4v1, 4v2 and so on...), having delight in backstabbing and nuking people within so little time, there is no way to even call it a combat.

Deserted lands of Darkzone completly negate the theory of high risk and high reward for the rogues. Rogues who within short time will become "non-hostile agents" again, safe from any form of justice and retribution.

So you have to strip the DZ end game of the illusion of some advanced systems of risk, rewards and retributions, and call it what it is: A very beautiful in terms of visual, but crude, clunky, unbalanced pvp shooter, where everyone will backstab you if you dont backstab them. So if you arent sociopath, you wont have fun. You need to know that once you reach endgame you must forget about the lore, the visuals and the concept of the Division agents - it ends there. Insetad you will just hear the proximity chat of some weird sounding people acting like psychopaths. Its disgusting place to be in. There is no game to be found there, its more like social experiment where people with absolutely no moral code dominate the ones who wont act like serial killers.

You just reached extraction point and see 2 people loosing to the NPC waves, one of them down on the ground? If you wont execute them on sight, you lose, becouse if you help them, after you all finish the mobs, they will kill you. If you arent cold blood psychopath you are free kill loot hoarded. Why free kill? Becouse when smoene decide to murder you, it happens in 1-2 seconds.

    Cons-
-The cover system is utter garbage and very confusing...you'll often have to break out of it just to move to another place to take cover.
-The A.I. is awful. They don't even know how to react to the players so they either charge at you or stay behind cover as you blow them away.
-The enemies are generic and pretty much the same.
-The side missions of the game are all the same thing:
    1. Rescue hostages
    2. Defend your Position
    3. Kill enemies located in a specific area
-The shops are awful. Everything sells for too low of a price(Or everything costs too much. Depends on which side you'll take).
-You cannot trade with other players....I am serious.
    -Character creation is very limited.
    -Glitches, glitches everywhere.
-Uplay(It adds DRM to the game :/)
-Exploring the open world is actually pointless as whatever you pick up consists of mostly the same thing(Unless it is for crafting but no one crafts anything).
-The crafting system is useless as you can buy much better gear from the stores :/
-Grinding is useless as getting experience takes quite a while(Unless you do those big missions...but they are quite boring as well).
-Graphical downgrade from what was shown..yadadadada!
-Gear pretty much looks the same(Excluding the guns and the appearance choices).
-There's barely any late game content except the dark zone...which is basically the rest of the game but with PvP and no quests-Oops I mean "Side Missions"
-There are only THREE classes! THREE! When most MMOs have more than that(And yes Destiny may have had three classes but those classes had three varieties...something The Division doesn't)
And the ultimate sin is that The Division is basically a modern Destiny clone in essentials. If you want a good MMORPG go play something like Warcraft, or Archeage. This is just another Ubisoft game made to steal your money.

If Tom Clancy was still alive he'd be sad to see what Ubisoft has done to his name

The dark Zone is full of boss fight experiences that will keep you occupied for about 2 days, after that you are mindlessly running around killing the same old guys and encountering players. Substance; The game feels hollow after you get a good bit of gear the daily hard missions can be soloed in 10 to 15 minutes. Like many of the Twitchcasters and YouTubers I follow who are Division fanbois, I'm probably just going to step back and see what happens. Looks like this is going down the Destiny route. No more "D" titled MMO lites (or ANY MMO lites for that matter, as we all know it's just disguised DRM).

    Original review:
Yea, I have to say I'm impressed. As a Twitch caster I watch said, "It's not like a Ubisoft game. It's actually good." I have to say, after watching both the PS4 and PC version, I'm happy to say that I was COMPLETELY wrong and they didn't gimp the PC version for parity. Even after the "Watch Dogs" debacle, I believed that they wouldn't change their stance. It still sold quite well, despite the flak. "Money talks and BS walks", the axiom goes. I fully expected Ubisoft to treat us as they should have, given "Watch Dogs" and the latest series of "Assassin's Creed" financial successes.

I have to say I've moved back to a guarded positive about the big publishers, such as Bethesda and Ubisoft, who didn't take the EA "Screw 'em. They still come back." attitude.

Now that I've reached the endgame, it's VERY apparent that there was not much bug hunting, or testing. It's rather a bit of a mess. This has the potential of Destiny, really good in concept, but it's lack of sufficient testing will cost it in the long run.

This game shouldn't disappoint, but it's certainly not worth full value, either. Twenty percent off is the lowest discount I'd tolerate (I had a bit more). If you are cheap like me and $5 is good for a two hour movie, then you will get 20 hours of enjoyment out of the game. If you are looking for a long haul actual MMO experience, Ubisoft will have to pull a magical golden talking rabbit out of their collective bums.

This game really does deserve a zero. There are so many problems it boggles the mind. I have never been more certain that a game has been given false positive reviews than I am with The Division. Everything negative you are reading in the reviews is true.

This game really does deserve a zero. There are so many problems it boggles the mind. I have never been more certain that a game has been given false positive reviews than I am with The Division. Everything negative you are reading in the reviews is true.

If you have ever wondered why it is a bad thing to have to always be connected while playing a game, then look no further than this game as a perfect example. You get disconnected, or can't connect in the first place, for so many reasons. It's lots of fun being almost finished with a brutally hard mission and then being disconnected. It's also a great time when your profile needs to be rebuilt and you lose hours of progress or have to completely start over again.

The AI in this game is the worst I have ever seen. I understand that AI in a game usually involves some kind of cheating to make sure it is not too easy, but this AI has no intelligence at all and consists of nothing more than flat out cheating. Your enemies can shoot you before they see you. They can shoot you through barriers, including walls. They can shoot you from incredible distance no matter what weapon they have. Their standard weapons can shoot you from further away than any sniper rifle you may have. Their weapons will also kill you in the blink of an eye. So much so that you may not even have a second to take cover before your dead. Then they will often just walk or run right up to you and kill you while your blasting them in the face the whole time. Their accuracy is incredible. They can face away from you and still hit you while firing their gun. Apparently the AI is set up so they don't have an accuracy rating, it's just an automatic hit. You, on the other hand, have to put with things like laptops and flimsy barriers completely blocking your fire while they fire right through them. It's not just enemy AI that is awful, the NPCs are terrible. The voices are disconnected from the people who are supposedly speaking. They face away from you and talk to walls when they are supposed to be addressing you. You see the same couple of interactions wherever you travel. It's so stupid they would have been better off just leaving the city empty. The civilians just casually walk right into your firefights. The soldiers who sometimes "assist" you literally never hit anything and walk casually among the enemies who have no interest in hurting them even though they are supposedly firing at them. They will, however, do as much as possible to get in your way.

The mission design is very poor and repetitive. The fact that you have to grind so much makes that aspect even more unpleasant. Everyone talks about all of the "loot", but what is the point? Most of the items are worthless and any upgrades are immediately nullified by the enemy AI being upgraded. Getting an "upgrade" will often make things more difficult for you as the enemies more than offset any new weapons or armor.

I wouldn't touch "Tom Clancy's The Division 2" with a ten foot pole. Gamers buying garbage like this make me sad, and are ruining gaming.

Three months in and the developers still haven't fixed day 0 issues. Meanwhile the publisher has opted to push a DLC scheduled for June into August at the request of Microsoft. I'm going to think twice before I spend my money with Ubisoft or Massive in the future.

Too much RNG, the devs did not learn from the mistakes of destiny and diablo 3. Despite those games ironing out their issues. Massive keeps trying to reinvent the wheel and ends up with a flat tire.

The season pass is a joke. The monthly rewards are are a slap to the face, the monthly event is just a repurposed dark zone supply drop that gives more RNG crap.

Their idea of new content is inflating damage numbers, health and armor numbers and increasing grenade spam.

Attempts to stop them have come in the form of random updates to the game to fix the glitches they exploit, but there are no GMs watching the game. I realize not all hackers are Chinese, however in this game its like 95% of them.

There are only humans to fight. Never thought id get bored of shooting people. The end game is incredibly dull, consisting of RERUNNING THE SAME MISSIONS you ran to when leveling. The bullet sponge NPCs require a ridiculous amount of damage to kill, multiple magazines from high powered rifles, this is not, nor was it ever, a tactical Tom Clancy game.

The end game is reliant on crit chance, meaning any and all PVP is based on gear score alone. Don't expect to get any good fights, because you will either destroy your target or empty magazines of ammo into someone only to have them turn around and one shot you....with an SMG.

Continues amounts of new bugs and very little fixes for bugs that been around since Closed Beta. It is a fun game for the first 50 hours or so, than you just want to shoot yourself. Hackers, only hacker detection is players reporting them and Massive "looks into it". 3 day ban before 2nd offense Perm ban. Just keep changing your user name to avoid this.

Massive is more concerned playing the game at work and streaming it, rather than doing actual patch work to fix issues. Massive is more for, change something little like unable to cause damage with your gun, after a week of people cheating this way. To now, use Sticky bombs and explosive ammo to kill the target while today they announced the next "patch" will make it so only C4 (as the mission is attended for it to be) will do damage. While the major reason to the glitches that been on going for weeks, still is allowed. But hey, what do you expect from a company that makes a joke about a credit glitch called Bullet King. They took their time to patch that, than just made it into big ha ha on Ubisoft site with showcasing clips of people doing the glitch; no punishment is ever handed out for glitching. Just tweaks to the system like crafting that punishes the legit players more than anything.

Game could've been something great. Just too large of a project for a company that is so new and has basically all fresh out of school employees. Ubisoft should've left it in Red Storms hands to build or another with experience and understanding of the gaming community to not make jokes at large issues that they avoided to repair for long periods of time.

Could be a great game but at present there are too many cheaters and hackers in the dark zone. They are ruining the experience for the casual player. The amount of times I have been shot through a wall. I even emptied a full magazine into the face of one rogue and it didn't even dent his health bar. Needless to say he fired one bullet and I was dead.
Ubisoft need to sort out these issues

End-Game GamePlay - Extremely Repetitive & Limited - Missions (4) or Incursions (1 for now) & Dark Zone (PvP), that's it!
Elite enemies (especially in incursions) take multiple magazines of bullets to take down 1 enemy, while they all have 1-shot kill ability and they send 1/2 a dozen at a time & they don't miss.
Gear is very randomized and getting the specs you want is less than 1%

PvP (DZ) is chalked FULL of hackers, although they seemed to have fixed the problem temporarily with a slew of 2-week bans, now the DZs are virtually empty! LOL
The game has been full of glitches & exploits from the beginning, plus random DC issues all the time due to Uplay cloud syncing issues.
Basically not much to do and a lot for Ubi-Soft to fix. Not much of an RPG experience, just mindless gear grind for perhaps PvP fun with hackers that can one-shot you from a mile away across the map and then teleport to you and steal your gear.

Insanely repetitive game with not nearly a strong enough story or depth to over come it. Getting to level 30 and completing all the missions and finding all the cell phones, drones, survival guide, etc.. was all that there is really to do.

Once you hit level 30 if you want to join a group doing missions, well make sure they are real life friends, because you won't have the gear score

Once you hit level 30 if you want to join a group doing missions, well make sure they are real life friends, because you won't have the gear score other groups are looking for and will be dropped consistently. That leaves you to the dark zone and again as a fresh level 30 expect to be completely rolled over as soon as you have the perception of anything valuable on you or just for the lolz by hackers.

I got this game for free and I still feel like I was ripped off/salty based on the time investment to get to level 30. Maybe revisit this game in 6 months but honestly once you're done with the story, you're done with this game in my opinion.

The real problem of the game lies with the loot variety and enemy variety there are very very few weapons and only 5 enemy variations you will be fighting for 100s of hours with only one of them with unique mechanics and the others just skin changes.

Another huge problem the game has is the story it's nearly non existing and told through videos and text you have to gather on the map. You will be wishing the story was as good as Diablo 3 and that is saying a lot (Diablo 3 story sucked).

PC Port : The optimization is horrible there are a couple game breaking bugs and random disconnections as we all expect from a ubisoft title.

Conclusion: The game is solid at its foundation but lacks content (in enemies and loot) ,those that played the second beta those are all the enemies and all the weapon variations you will find in the game even in lvl 30.
I don't recommend the game to anyone at least untill huge content patches optimizations and fixes come out.

P.S : I am about 10 hours into the game and I will play no more as I am bored already killing the same enemies and getting the same weapons.

To begin with, I was looking for an open world RPG, but that is not what I have received. They promised a compelling MMO experience, but so far all the MMO elements have achieved is letting people block the doorway for the entire beginning of the game, making it unplayable.
Online, no one actually joins games when you're looking, because the matchmaking is worse than the Microsoft Zune.

The stale elements of an RPG are completely irrelevant, when all you have is a linear world. I think Ubisoft have failed to realise that a game isn't really open-world, if there is absolutely nothing between the mission and base camp. If I run straight from one side of the map to the other, I get maybe 10 minutes of random events in between, which is pathetic. I've seen people comparing this game to Fallout 4's map, but at least Fallout 4 gives you a dense map, with lots to explore.

And finally, the RPG elements are simply: run to this place, and shoot some people... pick up some **** loot...run back to base camp. The upgrades system is uninspired and dull, and the game itself does very little to componsate for it's CONSTANT frame drops. I run a high-end system, and the game can't even keep 60fps on medium settings.

Poorly optimised for PC, Stale RPG elements, not open world, poorly executed network and matchmaking.
