There is a lot of missions, bosses, PVP, underground farming, etc. Although almost all activities, all missions in "The Division" are pretty much the same - go from A to B by killing everything in your way (solo or with group) it's still quite fun for me.
However, I believe this game is worth buying only for those who are true enthusiastic gamers and have a lot of free time, because "The Division" is very time consuming game and it takes quite a while to get top end gear. And that's the problem with this game - you HAVE to have best gear if you want to get maximum fun of it, because without best weapons and gear sets you will do no damage at all, you will die quickly and you will be pissed off because of it in no time.
In conclusion I would recommend this game, but only if you have much time to play it, because it demands a lot of grinding to acquire better gear and to get you among the best.

Graphics and gameplay mechanics are great, but in contrast to Ghost Recon Wildlands the story is no good. Do not get me wrong: I do not criticise the idea of the story: restore order, but there are hardly no dialogues, cut scenes or other ways to communicate the story.

There is so much wrong with this game. The absurd bar of entry in the multiplayer, repetitive missions/encounters, 60% of my time was spent running around, and fast traveling, A.I can be really dumb, and maybe more I missed. But I still enjoyed it. New York here, is amazing. It's barren, cold, and unsafe due to the Dollar Flu. Never really felt boring to look around. The combat, it's a mixed bag. Unlike Outriders, cover will actually be necessary. The first combat encounter will emphasize this, standing out in the open is not a good idea, at all! The cover system is fine, works pretty well, and is a moderate annoyance at worst. I don't like that you can heal instantly. I thought D2 did it better where you had to take time to do it and you were very vulnerable. Gunplay is pretty nice, the recoil makes sense, the sound design is pretty neat, and the impact is noticeable. Enemy variety, is unfortunately lacking here. There are generic rioters, the cleaners with flamethrowers attached to them, which will force you out of close range, and need to take them down from a distance. Rikers don't feel much different from normal rioters. I said A.I can be really dumb, and sometimes it is. But the enemies do flank you from time to time, and can create interesting encounters depending on where you're fighting. Now of course, the loot, basically the only reason to play this genre. It's great, especially when you finally get to move to a higher loot tier. The mods are a nice way to slightly alter your weapons, and aren't insanely complicated. The skills are pretty nice, and can be used to compliment your build. And build flexibility, is at its best here. Loadouts in this game can be used to save a certain build and can be changed when out of combat in an instant. This applies to armor, guns, and skills. It's especially useful when needing the right tool for the right job. Now... The always online bs is a bad practice. Give us an option to play offline. PLEASE. There are so many things wrong with this idea, crashing servers, screwing over console players with no ps plus or xbox live gold, annoying players, the list goes on. And for what? So I guess I need to talk about the story, and characters. Not interested. Not bad, just don't really care. Borderlands 2 is the only game that got me interested. So I guess that's it. Love it or hate it, the Division is something unique, a unique dumpster fire, or a unique game that's not terrible. Expand

It's an average game, simple entertainment for the simple mind. Division is a typical AAA product, on the outside nice and shiny, on the inside mundane and primitive systems reveal themselves.

Carrot on a stick: Basically the whole game revolves around you searching for loot in order to be stronger than your enemies, there no other real substance right now, but this will probably be covered by all the pay DLC that they have planned out for the 1 year to finish their game and provide more worthwhile content, or they deliver a batch of more stale Fast Food, we will see.

This gear dependency alone makes PVP a chore to balance and to set foot in as casual gamers, let alone enjoy the Dark Zone with it's severe penalties to engage in PVP. It's like the game highly encourages you to stick to pve or create a second character where you can cut away the risk of losing loot.

I can understand when people enjoy the simple things, but this turn off brain & shoot everything game shows me that the AAA industry has no balls or are simply not willing to release something really worthwhile. This is basically the Destiny formula in a modern setting, with a nice carrot on a stick as core mechanic to keep people interested. I already see streamer after streamer getting bored from the game, since it's really all the same over and over.

Wait for a sale where they sell everything for 30 bucks. imo the game is not worth more than that.

It looks good and I think that with a little more work, effort, polish and imagination this game could have been something wonderful instead of something simply mediocre.

All the trash and all the chaos right within the details. If you ask me, I want to play this game, when this mayhem was happening, not after!! Playing the game, I can't get over the feeling that I missed all the action, I'm just there as a clean up crew. The settings and the visuals really tells about a terrible event taking place months (or years?) before my arrival.
Now..onto the game mechanics and gameplay. While the idea about the game itself may work on paper or in a book, it just doesn't. While having all the details and brand new game engine, which seems like something I want to be utilized for more games, instead of the decade old cry-engine or unreal engine; despite all the details and back story, the game feels dull and boring, including the settings.
Once you seen 3-4 streets, you've seen them all. Plastic bags, broke down cars, garbage and body bags. There just isn't anything spectacular to see or experience.
Same with the gameplay. New players hoping to experience something better after 3-4 hours, are in for a sour disappointment, that the entire game will be, just like the first 2-3 hours. Run around the streets and shoot hoodies or guys with a flamethrowers. It just becomes an endless grind, especially with the side missions.
Upgrades are extremely dull. I just can't get excited about a new baseball hat. Especially, if it doesn't even do anything, it's just barbie-doll dressing, it serves no function. Weapon mods- giving me 3% increase in stability and such - are so pointless, that I don't care if I have it or not. I mean..3% or 5% does it even matter, when you shoot 100 bullets into a boss, so now instead of a 100, you shoot 97? Think about it. You disassemble 5 guns to have 5 weapons parts and from the 5 weapon parts you create one weapon mod, that gives you an upgrade, that is essentially equal to nothing?
I just can't fathom what the developers were thinking about while making this game. Really I can't. Just bad ideas on top of bad ideas. A waste of resources, a waste of time to create a a mediocre shooter on a next gen engine, with a lack of comprehension of what makes a good gameplay. Like, they never made a game before, or they lack an insight about what people think is fun and impressive and pleasing. Like the developers were robots, which work by a conveyor belt in a factory and the only fun they can relate to is doing the same thing over and over with no end in sight.
I won't even mention the "Dark Zone". I tried it, it's either full of hackers or just as boring and empty as the rest of the game area. Houses and streets and garbage, with hoodies and various level bullet sponge bosses roaming around.
I hate to say, but after leveling 15 times, the most fun I had was shooting at various objects (car windows, construction site cones etc) and see how they react or brake.
I will be fair. Credit is given where it's due, and the game gets a 5, instead of 1. Why?
Because, obviously they spent some crazy amount of time on the graphics and settings. So thumbs up for the game engine devs and whoever worked on the details. Unfortunately giving credit ends there. The rest of the game could have been made in 1997, when mouse aiming and collecting items were probably a thing.
Not sure if it's a great idea gone wrong, or the the idea was wrong all along, but nobody noticed?

    -Interesting variety of weapons
-Interesting main plotline story although not as engaging as it should really be
    -Grouping can be fun
    -Gunplay is, initially, fun

    Cons:

-Bugs. Graphical glitches and bugs specific to being in a group like the teleport to your teammate dialogue never going away despite him being right in front of you. Your teammate "moonwalking" in front of you, seeming to never take cover and shooting with the wrong weapon looking like an action figure. Relogging seems to be the only way to fix this.
-AI is dumb as bricks. They make poor use of cover, grenades and tactics as a whole. Melee enemies will charge you without support of supressing fire from allies. Headshots don't seem to do much. It could be worse, true, but still disappointing, given the hype surrounding this title
-"Upgrades" don't seem to follow a logical progression and stats on gear seem to be a little too random. I've gotten green level 7-8 guns that weren't as good as my green quality level 3 Poice M4A1 carbine. All I can say is ?????. It makes things more confusing than they need to be. Being used to min-maxing from other games, I can deal with this shortcoming but it's a little annoying.
-Lag and disconnects. I experienced a lot of lag and disconnects trying to group up but I expect this will be eventually fixed. Still, annoying that it creeped into release.
-World feels even more lifeless than it needs to be. I understand about the plague, etc but still there's just something missing. You just don't feel invested in trying to make things better for these people. There is little to tug at your emotional strings. If they'd added some non-combat missions where you care for the sick or something like that it would have at least tried to get you more invested in trying to improve things for these people. A missed opportunity on the part of Ubisoft I think.
-Hacks. I haven't experienced these myself because I am not high enough level to venture into the Dark Zone but it's basically a hack-ridden gank-fest from everything people have described. It kind of runs counter to the lore of the game. Ultra-top-secret government operatives supposedly working towards a common goal murdering each other in cold blood without penalty for loot? How does that make any sense?

All in all, it's not a bad game but not great either. The inclusion of microtransactions in the game irks me. We already paid full price for the game and there is a DLC pack that costs almost as much as the game itself. The game hit the top sellers list on Steam and probably on other vendors like GMG, EBGames, etc. Microtransactions were not required to make them any more cash yet they just couldn't resist.

At this point I can only give it a 5/10. It's ok for short-term fun but I question f the longevity of the game's appeal. It's like a more boring version of Destiny, the other shooter that also tries to be an MMO.

Would have been a lot better if the darkzone was co-op vs npcs instead of PvP because obviously, that was going to cause hackers to appear and naturally, they did making it virtually unplayable. This was a learning experience for Ubisoft and sadly wrecked the Division from becoming the game it promised to be.

Its worth playing for the single player experience for about $10, thats about it.

What started as a 12/10 game has quickly devolved into repetitive nonsense and a sense of violent anger towards my monitor at the lack of progression.

I suppose we can start with the good. I live in NYC and the map is extremely realistic. The story is believable: A bioterrorist unleashes a deadly virus that quickly ravages New York City. You are part of an elite government military organization called The Division that's sent in to restore order, mainly by shooting the same hooded/masked red names until you hit max level. Then you do it some more.

The weapons are nice and there are a lot of them, though due to balance issues, you'll probably only find yourself using a few. Each weapon has a few mod slots where you can improve your magazine or scope to better suit your style of play. However build diversity is limited due to poor balance. For example, for some reason you have an ability that shoots an explosive device and the damage of that item is capped at 250k and has a long cooldown. Meanwhile your sniper rifle can reach upwards of a million damage and that has no cooldown except how well you can aim. It makes no sense.

Leveling up is extremely repetitive. You progress through leveled zones and every few zones there is a main mission that progresses the story, basically the only saving grace of the level up process. Between that every zone has the same side quests that you repeat over and over again until you hate yourself.

Once you actually hit the max, there's not much else to do. You can repeat the missions you've already done, just on a harder difficulty, meaning the bad guys will begin to shrug off 100 or more rounds to the head with ease. These challenge missions reward you with some gear and crafting materials to craft the stronger stuff. It doesn't take a long to obtain a decent set of gear. Once you're at that point, the grind begins to obtain the very best, and I do mean grind.

There is a resource called Division Tech that you need to craft powerful equipment which can only be obtained in the Dark Zone, mainly through chests that are scattered around. Each chest has an inexplicably long respawn timer meaning you could run around the Dark Zone for hours and not even find an unopened one. Furthermore, Division Tech comes in 3 flavors, green, blue, and yellow, and only the yellow ones are worthwhile. So not only do you have to be lucky enough to find a chest, you'll have to pray to Lord GabeN that you get a yellow. There's no refinement system currently in the game to refine green to blue or blue to yellow. Weird.

Now the Dark Zone is the PvPvE area that the devs have implemented, touting it as a new and exciting PvP experience. This is neither new nor exciting. It's essentially world PvP, a concept that has existed for decades. Also noteworthy is that world PvP frequently devolves into players griefing other players and The Division does not disappoint. It is also not exciting as should you choose to engage other players, you'll be highlighted to the entire world. Everyone will be able to see where you are. If they are nearby, they'll see you through walls and other obstacles. There's even a distance tracker so they'll always know the exact distance between you two up to 150 meters. It doesn't make for exciting PvP play, nor is there any structured PvP in the game. The Dark Zone is it, and as the game progresses further and the more veteran players obtain better gear, the lack of content outside the Dark Zone will relegate these players to the Dark Zone to slaughter newer and/or undergeared players to seek their enjoyment. This will not help the longevity of the game.

Again, balance is an issue. Certain weapons are rendered obsolete. For example, even though there's a plethora of sniper rifles to choose from, you should only be using one: the M1A. It fires as fast as you can click and the damage rivals that of its slower, bolt action, and supposedly powerful cousins. You'd be mad to use something else. There's also a skill called Survivor Link which makes you and your party immune to all crowd control, near immune to all damage, and gives you a speed boost. The only counter to Survivor Link is Survivor Link (or to run and hide) and when the only counter to a skill is that very skill, it's indicative of a major balance problem.

There are bugs galore, some minor and some gamebreaking. A lot of the time your stats page will not display your correct stats. Sometimes NPC dialogue will become inaudible. Infinite loading screens will completely prevent you from playing the game. There's also a lot of cheaters, who apparently aren't even banned permanently. If you are caught cheating, you receive a 3 day ban.

All in all, The Division suffers from Star Wars: Battlefront syndrome. The developers have created a beautiful world void of any meaningful content. The stuff they are planning will be locked behind multiple paid DLC. It's truly a sad case for a game that absolutely has so much potential.

however, for me it just doesn't all come together to make a great game.
the graphics, whilst pretty, just aren't very exciting. both characters and environments are constrained by 'realism' - ie, greyness. which just isn't very interesting. yes there's a variety of different cosmetic items you can wear! but... what's the point? you don't notice them on other players, so why would they notice them on you?

the weapons all end up feeling the same, with the exception of sniper rifles and shotguns. there is generally little to choose between smgs, assault rifles and lmgs apart from the their dps stat. which is the only real difference between the gun i started with and the gun i'm using now. obviously, because its 'realistic' all the guns look basically the same too.

the story, so far at least, feels very lacklustre - mostly because it seems you start already knowing all about the outbreak! there's no mystery - you know that some mad scientist type put the plague together and infused it in dollar bills that he then spent on Black Friday. There's no real urgency to finding a cure/vaccine, since it seems very straightforward to not catch it anyway.

the gameplay is very repetitive. every mission is just 'go here kill some people'. though there are elements of hacking and investigation they don't entail you actually doing it - they entail you standing in the correct spot and pressing F. this wouldn't be such a problem if the environments and enemies were more varied (a la destiny), but they're just not.
the bullet sponge enemies are also not fun, and fit in with the overall feel of the game. with so much of the game seeming to attempt realism, why have boss enemies that take hundreds of shots to the head to kill? i can forgive this in Destiny, due to the futuristic/alien aesthetic, but in The Division it just feels silly and out of place.

the bugs - well it wouldn't be a modern AAA title without bugs, would it. whether its that you can't start the game properly (sound plays, but no video) or you fall through the floor, you'll be sure to encounter something.

if you like destiny... stick to destiny. i was hoping this would be a suitable PC replacement for destiny, but its just not.

If you have played Watch Dogs, or Ghost Recon you have already tried out the gunplay/cover mechanic.. If like me, you have zero interest in pvp, and you absolutely despised the Dark Zone, and further lack of content, than this game isnt for you (us).. Theres occasional npc's to fight in DZ, always with numerous fellow agents around..

The AI is so dumb, that they will literally walk at you, stand out in the open, and pop out of cover like clock work.. To cover for this, enemies were made bullet sponges.. A dozen rounds to the head, is an easy kill.. Theres also very little variation in enemy archetypes.. Even when donning a different asthetic, they act exactly the same as others.. It makes for very bland gameplay, when the main function is too easy..

While beautiful (though severely downgraded from what was shown, also becoming the norm with AAA companies) walking the city, its barren! You will encounter occasional npcs fighting over a scrap, or ask you for water, or running in fear for their life of you for seemingly no reason.. Its like walking through "The Last of Us", only this is a shooter, and we want to shoot ****

The weapons and armor itself servers its purpose, but is very unappealing.. "Upgrades" are only so, in incremental amounts.. 2% less recoils, etc.. Since the game pretends to ground itself in realism (except when in need of excuse) that the guns, and armor arent very "oh cool, new weapon"! It will shoot exactly like the last one you had, probably look almost identical, etc.. Kneepads wont make muh difference, but you may get a puffy coat to change the look vs a hoodie?!

So-called "rpg".. this is where had issue.. Because there are 8 faces to choose from in the character creator, and theres a talent tree, it apparently classifies itself as rpg..Well.. Not in my book! Theres got to be a compelling narrative, characters, progression, customization, etc.. Theres very little of it here, with a grand total of 26 main story missions.. All replayable, but the side missions are not.. Wheres the longevity here? While playing, its hard to shake the feeling that very large chunks of the game are being with held, to be sold separately, at a later date.. Its painfully dull, and boring to play.. You are allowed 2 active abilities at any given time, which you can also augment, and switch in and out at will.. But the majority of them are, like the rest of the game, uninspired, and dull.. Deploy a Turret, is kinda neat, but another grenade? Group Heal, Riot Shield? Its like there was a QA, and the favored pcs of other games were thrown into a hodgepodge of what works over there, and show horned into a tactical shooter, so it could be labelled a rpg! If this is rpg, its shallow, at best! Theres also little to no meaningful plot decisions, character interaction (That isnt cinematic), theres no real player choice here.. As far as story, its very on rails.. I fail to see where this whole "rpg" element comes from?! I can choose 1 of 8 faces, and theres a skill tree.. Ok.. So not only will 1 in 8 people LOOK the same, everyone will also have exactly the same skills as well? Ok, so just everyone pick 2 different abilities each before this mission.. Fun! Not that youll 'need' them, since its rather straight forward combat.. Some people claim enemies attempt to flank.. What i see is more that they just move toward your general direction.. On a wide street, they may happen to flank.. Mostly though, they stick out stupidly in the open, for no real reason!

Its no wonder they wouldnt allow pre release reviews.. And i havent even gotten to all the bugs, terrible server issues, lag, texture pop ins and tearing, etc.. Even on consoles this is being reported..

Which leads me to my next point.. Uplay, is widely known to be bottom barrel software.. Having this game be online only, with this system is terrible.. There is no offline mode, for you to enjoy solo, if your internet fails, you havent paid your bills or, more likely, Uplay goes down.. Why? Hackers? The game is already riddled with them!!! Another wonderful aspect of Dark zone.. And, theres no anti cheat system to boot.. Just "file a report, take a screen shot of the offense".. WTF?!?

It was over hyped, deliberately with held until release day, bare bones, dull half implemented features.. Yet another Ubisoft let down.. I used to be the biggest AC fan i knew, and even that i can no longer support.. If i had actually paid cash for this game, i would have refunded it it! Thank goodness i went with my gut here, and kept my promise to myself never to purchase another Ubisoft product.. Or EA, Activision, Bethesda for that matter..

I too want an to scratch that itch i have, for the TPS genre, but this aint it.. Guess its back o another round of Mass Effect.. I no longer support Bioware, but i already own that trilogy atleast..

Many design mistakes in the mechanics prevent from really enjoying your progress (ie. unable to use good DZ gear unless you are DZ level 30 even despite you are let's say still at normal level 15 or 20 or anything else). I hope endgame is not that dull as getting there.
From technical point of view - I can;t say a single bad word - works with no flaws, no hangs or sudden fps drops, I once got stuck in a box and the game detected it and fixed my position right away.

Next thing you know a ladder kills you, because of a new bug. Or you're doing one of the Incursions where you fight waves of enemies, only to have a game crash at the final wave. What started as a good looking and interesting game with possibilities is continuously turning unplayable and unfun. The players have noticed and there seem to be less and less players from day to day. The game itself would be a 7 or 8 itself if everything would be working but in the state it is in and since the game developers seem to have skipped some programming and quality assurance courses, the game is not worth anything above a 4. Elitist mentality has lead to Ubisoft caving to the most vocal, but least representative members of the community.

Frankly, if 1.1 is the line that The Division is taking, I don't care to see how it all winds up. Like many of the Twitchcasters and YouTubers I follow who are Division fanbois, I'm probably just going to step back and see what happens. Looks like this is going down the Destiny route. No more "D" titled MMO lites (or ANY MMO lites for that matter, as we all know it's just disguised DRM).

    Original review:
Yea, I have to say I'm impressed. As a Twitch caster I watch said, "It's not like a Ubisoft game. It's actually good." I have to say, after watching both the PS4 and PC version, I'm happy to say that I was COMPLETELY wrong and they didn't gimp the PC version for parity. Even after the "Watch Dogs" debacle, I believed that they wouldn't change their stance. It still sold quite well, despite the flak. "Money talks and BS walks", the axiom goes. I fully expected Ubisoft to treat us as they should have, given "Watch Dogs" and the latest series of "Assassin's Creed" financial successes.

I have to say I've moved back to a guarded positive about the big publishers, such as Bethesda and Ubisoft, who didn't take the EA "Screw 'em. They still come back." attitude.

Now that I've reached the endgame, it's VERY apparent that there was not much bug hunting, or testing. It's rather a bit of a mess. This has the potential of Destiny, really good in concept, but it's lack of sufficient testing will cost it in the long run.

This game shouldn't disappoint, but it's certainly not worth full value, either. Twenty percent off is the lowest discount I'd tolerate (I had a bit more). If you are cheap like me and $5 is good for a two hour movie, then you will get 20 hours of enjoyment out of the game. If you are looking for a long haul actual MMO experience, Ubisoft will have to pull a magical golden talking rabbit out of their collective bums.

-The cover system is utter garbage and very confusing...you'll often have to break out of it just to move to another place to take cover.
-The A.I. is awful. They don't even know how to react to the players so they either charge at you or stay behind cover as you blow them away.
-The enemies are generic and pretty much the same.
-The side missions of the game are all the same thing:
    1. Rescue hostages
    2. Defend your Position
    3. Kill enemies located in a specific area
-The shops are awful. Everything sells for too low of a price(Or everything costs too much. Depends on which side you'll take).
-You cannot trade with other players....I am serious.
    -Character creation is very limited.
    -Glitches, glitches everywhere.
-Uplay(It adds DRM to the game :/)
-Exploring the open world is actually pointless as whatever you pick up consists of mostly the same thing(Unless it is for crafting but no one crafts anything).
-The crafting system is useless as you can buy much better gear from the stores :/
-Grinding is useless as getting experience takes quite a while(Unless you do those big missions...but they are quite boring as well).
-Graphical downgrade from what was shown..yadadadada!
-Gear pretty much looks the same(Excluding the guns and the appearance choices).
-There's barely any late game content except the dark zone...which is basically the rest of the game but with PvP and no quests-Oops I mean "Side Missions"
-There are only THREE classes! THREE! When most MMOs have more than that(And yes Destiny may have had three classes but those classes had three varieties...something The Division doesn't)
And the ultimate sin is that The Division is basically a modern Destiny clone in essentials. If you want a good MMORPG go play something like Warcraft, or Archeage. This is just another Ubisoft game made to steal your money.

The Division falls nowhere near short of the mark at a great attempt at breaking this cycle. Unfortunately it does not. It has gorgeous graphics and a Tom Clancy story line what more could you ask? Well, dept, substance, and support to name just three. Depth; the game lacks anything to drive players to play past the point that all three systems are at 100%. The dark Zone is full of boss fight experiences that will keep you occupied for about 2 days, after that you are mindlessly running around killing the same old guys and encountering players. Substance; The game feels hollow after you get a good bit of gear the daily hard missions can be soloed in 10 to 15 minutes. The daily challenging is a bit harder but a group of three player can clear them in about 35 to 45 minutes. Support; This is UBI's weakest point in any endeavor. Armor and health exploits in the Dark Zone that allows the unscrupulous player to have endless armor and health and players teleporting to and fro leading to super villain antics of "Poof, I shoot you and take your stuff." Known issues such as daily missions that won't reset for days on end leading to the inability of players to acquire the much needed resources such as in-game credits and crafting materials. These are problems that are known issues and UBI seem to do nothing other than lead their player base to wait for days on end for simple solutions. But hey they are bringing out their first part of "Incursions". Steer clear of this and all UBI titles as long as you can....if you need to fill your gaming void, go play Plants vs Zombies as it is less repetitive than The Division. Expand

This game is so incredibly dull and boring I have never been so turned off by a game before in my life, I'm actually a little offended at how lazily this thing was put together.

Many of the design decisions make absolutely no sense and the PC port is complete garbage, and on top of that the game itself is boring as hell. You spend 90% of your time just running around looking for some NPCs/Rogues/Agents to kill the end game content consists of harder versions of the same missions you'd completed dozens of times while leveling... the Dark Zone is the sole redeeming factor of this game because it's tends to be actually FUN in stark contrast to the rest of the game, however without any structure it's just a sandbox pew pew fest for trolls and lols and it's very, very uneven considering how some players are super geared from farming exploits which are RAMPANT in this game.

NO end game exclusive content , just the same crap over, and over. Oh Incursions you say?! They are just a warehouse you fight waves of enemies in! That's right! This is one of the most underdeveloped, boring, monotonous, laziest game Ubisoft has made since Watchdogs. Ubisoft has lost me as a customer, I will never again buy one of their games without waiting for in-depth reviews and I would recommend you do the same. Unless you really liked this game in which case you are insane, because it's complete, utter garbage.

Needless to say he fired one bullet and I was dead.

On the other hand we have a difficult game, in which the engagements with the enemy must be calculated instead of just runin' and shootin'. Also the story is kinda interesting, compared with some newer games.

Once we have the strongest points of the game out of the way, let's talk about the negative aspects. Overall, the game feels very empty. Being repetitive helps a lot with this. The enemies are not that different between them, in comparison with other RPGs. The areas are basically the same, and the accessible buildings are copy-paste. But the worse thing is the RPG elements. The character customization is a joke. The "skills tree" is the shortest I've ever seen, which also makes you feel like you're playing an empty game.

In conclusion, the graphics are great. But that's not all, Ubisoft. The funny part of the RPGs, which is progressing with your character, customizations, etc. are just a joke. The "campaign" is short, and after that you can only repeat again and again the same missions. Looking for a good shooter? Look elsewhere. Looking for a good RPG? Look elsewhere.

The frostbite engine looks amazing but makes it impossible to track and ban hackers as said by the developers and is quite and oversight of using this engine. As detailed as the map of New york is its just so DAMN EMPTY, put more npcs patrolling or allow players with open matchmaking to encounter each other sometimes as they're navigating the city. The darkzone feels just as desolate, you expect 24-28 players to occupy the 9 segments of the DZ? The fact that rogues can end their manhunt through rogue terminals proves otherwise. I've seen 4 man teams go manhunt 4 times before anyone tried to stop them from redeeming their manhunt.

There's lots of HUD items on your screen, particularly in the center of it, which I don't like. You can hide only some of it, some of the time. Even the enemies have health bars...

The guns aren't fun to use, and the general gameplay isn't fun.

Headshots don't seem to matter, and it takes anywhere from a dozen bullets to a full clip to kill someone. This seems to tie into the fact that the game is designed for multiplayer, so they expect enemies to get shot at by multiple people. Problem is, even if you wanted to, I wasn't able to find any partners in matchmaking.

There's no stealth killing. No crouch. No sneaking up on people and taking them out from behind.

The graphics are nice, run well, and aren't heavily demanding. But unfortunately they're the only good thing about this game. And they're not good enough to counter all the other deficits.

The graphics were dumbed downed, the features they promised are there, but in a somewhat diminished capacity from what was originally promised, I can't really blame them though, the game still looks fantastic.

The Problem is with the artificial scaling, lack of meaningful content at endgame, repetitive nature of the dailies and the boundless, exploits, glitches and hackers, ohhh god the hackers....
The dark zone has become polluted with too many cheaters to be really fun, the drop rates have been nerfed and then now they are guarenteed, but only the gear that drops is no longer relevant so you will likely only get something useful maybe 2-4% of the time. The addition of Supply Drops, meant to be a catalyzing force to draw players together, do just that. but the stuff that drops out of it is so meaningless most of the time, your hoping players show up because they likely have better loot, yea you don't have to extract it but after clearing dozens of these things, the best piece of gear i got was something I had already gotten from the raid/Incursion. That brings me to my next point, the Incursion, cause there is only to one right now and to be honest it is god awful, yes there were some new enemy types and yes there was the slight introduction of what would be considered mechanics, but it can all be ignored and glitched so you don't actually have to fight any of it, chessing the boss directly which the just drops your loot and de-spawns all the enemies, no mess, fuss, no hassle just free loot.

So what does all this mean to the game, well as many other have already stated the game is basically a Diablo style game with guns, set in third person and if you like that style of game, of runnign the same thing over and over and over again just on the of chance you will get something that is slightly better than what you got from it already then even still this game is mediocre at best, looks great, astonishing at times, down right annoying at others (snowstorms come to mind). but in the end even a mediocre game is marred by exploits, glitches and hackers. I can't rightly recommend this game to anyone in its current state, and if the patches and fix priority that the developers have shown so far, not any time in the near future either.

Verdict: Go play a real shooter if you want to player a shooter. Go play a real Rpg if you want to play an Rpg. This game does a disservice to both genres, and it had so much potential too, the developers missed the ball by a long shot here.

Так же хотелось бы отметить персонажей и их характеры. +1 Mods More in depth weapon modding than Destiny had. Although game is pretty lame in the fact the currently everyone builds a Vector, which is instantly give you a huge power buff. I wish after level 30 there were multiple paths that made since but currently building Vector is the only logical direction.

Problems - Going Rouge in Dark zone is not worth it
    - After you play through game the world is pointless, only the instanced dailies and dark zone matter. The rest of the work is just a waste of space you have to fast travel over.
    - Shotguns are terrible. Sub machine guns destroy shotguns. Unless you are a bot, then you 1 hit everyone.
    - The cosmetic crap is pretty lame. I have 50 trapper hats I hate them all. out of my 100 hats one is half way cool. would much rather have cosmetic armor showing.
    - Sponge. The bullet sponges didn't bother me to much till end game. now it is just annoying. Really something to consider in future shooter RPGs, but shooting a computer in the head with 30 sniper bullets and they are running around no big deal is pretty annoying.
    - Story mode well existing is pretty underwhelming and more often than not annoying.
    - Minor glitches. anything from fast traveling to wrong place, no being able to get down cover, no shooting over cover properly, and errors that drop me from game, I can be shot by a player but they don't go rouge and they just grief you by shooting you once every 10 seconds till you go rouge, or when I beat a mission all of a sudden the dialogue that was suppose to play throughout the missions starts and its like 10 minutes of nonstop chatter.

Overall its a cool idea but not worth investing in further. Will not purchase the DLCs. The entire end game concept is broken because in the end your best gear is crafted and you either do that by doing dailies and slowly earning enough credits, or ban with a bunch of people in DZ and go around in a large circle instantly getting you best gear in one night.

Expectations were high when the game was released, and yet it crushed all hope set in it. I don't even know where to start... first, I played it ~41 hours in all possible ways, a lot of PvE, a lot of PvP, solo, in groups, etc. So you know what my opinion is based upon.

    So let's start.

First of all the graphics. While The Division looks really good, it is not as good as seen in several trailers (which is a quite common problem with games, I guess). Also, you'll experience significant FPS drops while playing, for no reason. This could be caused by your PC, but most likely, it's a server-sided problem.

Next point: the servers are very, very unstable, resulting in random disconnects, login problems and all the other known issues. Plus the servers aren't divided into areas, it's quite possible for you to read korean, russian and a lot of other languages in the chats.

Now the multiplayer. Well. Cooperative is fun with friends, gotta admit, and playing with a good team is really cool. But on the other side, the Dark Zone (open PvP zone with PvE elements) and all its gameplay is neither balanced, nor fair, nor funny. It's grinding, and nothing else, just grinding, all the time.

Yet another problem in this game: Its items, its inventory, its weapons. The weapon system is similar to that of Borderlands/Borderlands 2, meaining the weapons have levels which define a weapons traits, like damage per second (DPS) and skills. The inventory itself is very overloaded and confusing, it'll take a while until you can actually handle it.

But now, something more positive: the games missions and plot. Most missions are very, very repetitive, you do them in the one sector, after having finished them, you proceed to the next one, do the same ones again, and all the same again. Sounds not very positive? True, but most missions are good ones in the first place, they just start getting boring after a few hours. The plot itself is interesting, and the whole game shows a realistic post-apocalyptic Manhattan after a huge catastrophe. The atmosphere is really good and immersive, and by collecting various collectibles, you'll get a lot of side informations about what could happen in an apocalyptic scenario, but also about main characters, villains etc. The plot itself is okay, with the Division being a secret government department which is activated after the catastrophe became too hard to handle for other departments, such as police and army (JTF, in this game, =Joint Task Force). But well, that's pretty much it.

Overall, this game can be very frustrating, boring and repetitive, especially after you finished the main storyline, but it can also be funny in multiplayer - beside technical difficulties and bugs. What annoys me the most is the lost potential, because Manhattan, even though it looks graphically good, seems so... lifeless and empty. There's not much to do for you except missions and occasionally help a citizen, and this is just a waste for the good and interesting setting.

Because of all of this, it gets 3/10 from me.

There are only humans to fight. Never thought id get bored of shooting people. The end game is incredibly dull, consisting of RERUNNING THE SAME MISSIONS you ran to when leveling. The bullet sponge NPCs require a ridiculous amount of damage to kill, multiple magazines from high powered rifles, this is not, nor was it ever, a tactical Tom Clancy game.

The end game is reliant on crit chance, meaning any and all PVP is based on gear score alone. Don't expect to get any good fights, because you will either destroy your target or empty magazines of ammo into someone only to have them turn around and one shot you....with an SMG.

PVE is good, story line is fun to play, but once you get into dark zone (PVP area) is basically cheater area, if you are not using any hack you are just a sheep in a wolf den, getting kill over and over by teleporter who can 1 shot you through any walls with their aim bot. (Right now Ubisoft not doing anything about hackers so unless you find the hack, otherwise don't even buy it)

Once you hit level 30 if you want to join a group doing missions, well make sure they are real life friends, because you won't have the gear score other groups are looking for and will be dropped consistently. That leaves you to the dark zone and again as a fresh level 30 expect to be completely rolled over as soon as you have the perception of anything valuable on you or just for the lolz by hackers.

I got this game for free and I still feel like I was ripped off/salty based on the time investment to get to level 30. Maybe revisit this game in 6 months but honestly once you're done with the story, you're done with this game in my opinion.

I just can't play. I have a good Internet, good PC but I get bugs. For example, enemies just do not load . It's like I'm playing with the invisible. Instead give the enemies of intellect , Ubisoft just gave them a lot of health. They just run at me, and my weapons do not cause them any damage. Very glad, that not spent on this game their money . In theory DZ is great concept of PvPvE area where you meet other agents, cooperate to defeat hard mobs and someone may be tempted to turn against you for a pvp combat to get your loot. Then they have to deal with the other agents nearby who will try to hunt them down.

    Thats about the theory...

In practise, the DZ is a place where you will loose your faith in humanity. If you are nto enjoying backstabing, betraying and murdering innocent people, you will be the one who gets backstabed, betrayed and murdered even by those who could have died by your hand multiple times if you only wished so, but you didnt cause you dont like it, and was sure they will be a little gratefull for that - what kind of person murder someone who just helped them, right?

Devs really made a great arena for all kind of sociopaths. People who run around there, will always murder anyone weaker than them (2v1, 4v1, 4v2 and so on...), having delight in backstabbing and nuking people within so little time, there is no way to even call it a combat.

Deserted lands of Darkzone completly negate the theory of high risk and high reward for the rogues. Rogues who within short time will become "non-hostile agents" again, safe from any form of justice and retribution.

So you have to strip the DZ end game of the illusion of some advanced systems of risk, rewards and retributions, and call it what it is: A very beautiful in terms of visual, but crude, clunky, unbalanced pvp shooter, where everyone will backstab you if you dont backstab them. So if you arent sociopath, you wont have fun. You need to know that once you reach endgame you must forget about the lore, the visuals and the concept of the Division agents - it ends there. Insetad you will just hear the proximity chat of some weird sounding people acting like psychopaths. Its disgusting place to be in. There is no game to be found there, its more like social experiment where people with absolutely no moral code dominate the ones who wont act like serial killers.

You just reached extraction point and see 2 people loosing to the NPC waves, one of them down on the ground? If you wont execute them on sight, you lose, becouse if you help them, after you all finish the mobs, they will kill you. If you arent cold blood psychopath you are free kill loot hoarded. Why free kill? Becouse when smoene decide to murder you, it happens in 1-2 seconds.

If you are more of MMO person and want to play with friends, you will soon hit the wall and discover that the game is broken in so many ways. In theory you can build your character the way you want but in fact... upon doing some calculations there is 0.01% change the boss will drop the item you really want (I'm simplifying for all six stats on each high lvl item). Usually it takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete a mission that drops one of those high level items. If that doesn't speak to you, let me put it another way. I have approx 250 hours of gameplay and my friend has 50. You would think that my gear is so much better than his... oh well, not at all. The difference is 7 points in the gearscore (206 vs 199) - which translates to, 'no noticable difference'. I'll let you think about it. I have never came across a game with such a 'cruel' drop system. Yes, the game provides some customization of perks on the items you have but this is extremely limited (only 1 spec can be edited out of 5+), and each time you want to change it, you have to roll and pray. This is because each time you roll a new perk it costs more. To add to it, there are a lot of hackers in the game who walk around with miniguns (usually SMGs hacked to provide crazy damage without the need to reload). Few weeks back the dev team banned some hackers for 2 weeks... I guess you know where I'm going with this.
Furthermore the Dark Zone, which is the multiplayer zone, is so small that 3 teams of 4 can successfully clear 95% of the loot areas (where the bosses are with good *stuff). In the last 2 weeks of gameplay I enjoyed maybe 2 hours of gameplay in DZ.
I can keep going like this but there is no point. I have highlighted most transparent flaws of the game.
Is the game pretty, yes. Is the game fun, very... very rarely... take it from someone who 'wasted' so many hours.

Okay character customization, not the best but you will look unique for the most part after a few hours.

    Cons:
    Frame Rate Drops
    Controls are **** stupid

the open world is very empty, as you run from one mission to the next with little to nothing in between.

The game is a little atmospheric, and thats all the game has going for it, but its not even at atmospheric as like dark souls or tomb raider

The idea for the game is not new but its cool coming in the form of a big AAA game. However, the idea and ground works for a game only takes you so far. honestly I like to judge games on the game feel, progression, and story. Well the story dose not leave you wondering at all, the second you boot up the game you know what caused the virus. The mystery behind the virus is known that, oh some organization did it by placing the virus on some twenty dollar bills; so I just didn't give a **** anymore. The gameplay is that of gears of war aside from some gadgets mixed in that don't amount to much.

    1. Can't use my Crossfire set up, I have to disable one of the cards so I can play without having graphic issues. Yes my drivers are up to date.
    2. Endgame is bad and is unsatisfying, with a $60.00 price tag and to end it like they did, it burns me.
    3. Character Creation is basic, with all the work they put into the World, levels textures, lighting and effects, clothing and this is what you get, a few faces with a few hairstyles and tattoos?
    4. Really no replay value, unless you really want to replay the same mission over & over & over & over again with friends or without before moving off to another game.
    5. The Incursions are linear in design (what a waste with all that effort the DEV's did in building that world) .
    6. Pvp, Rogue, Crafting and Loot system is broken and terribly unbalanced, plus there is really no point to make the effort to grind at all in the Dark Zone. Especially if your a new player trying to grind solo for better equipment or to complete your DZ daily mission or trying to grind to craft better equipment. Check the Steam forums for additional problems
    7. Enemies re-spawning / appearing out of nowhere (DZ is really bad).
    8. Boss's in the game are just bullet sponges and it gets worst as the player progresses in the story. Instead of one magazine worth of bullets in the beginning and by the time player hits the middle of the story, it would take about 5-10 magazines worth of bullets. By the time the player is near the end of the story, they will need a restock box to refill their inventory of bullets.
