If you don't like PVP you eventually won't enjoy this game. So lets get started. This game is a melting pot of multiple genres of games and gives off this jack of all trades master of non kind of vibe. The game itself takes place in a freshly Re-Uncivilized New York, that has been struck with a virus that broke down the city. Rioters roam the streets and the military can't control the violence. So the government calls in The Division: a group of elite soldiers, in an attempt to retake the city from the gangs. This is where the mission structure comes in. Most of the missions in the game have you going to a certain area, clearing out all the thugs there, fighting a boss, and getting loot. This same structure is used for almost every main mission. I feel this game is best experienced with a group of people that you play through the missions with. Ity doesn't even have to be the same group of people every time but I still recommend you play them with a group as it makes for a better experience. This is where the game being repetitive comes into play. As said the mission structure is almost the same for every main mission And for some people this is a huge problem. If you enjoy left 4 dead then you'll get what i am talking about. The story of the mission changes while the structures is basically the same. Which can really bother some people but as a person who grew up on beat em ups I don't bother it and I thinks it's part of the reason i enjoy the hell out of this game. The division Is a shooter with slight MMO elements and an RPG type loot and xp system. It's clearly built to be like destiny in a sort of way. The game has a HUGE area in which players can PVP in the Dark Zone. You can find better loot in the Dark Zone. (BTW know the command to do jumping jacks by heart.) The way the Dark Zone is set up to assure that you don't get screwed over by someone way higher level then you. The game itself looks beautiful even on the low settings the my 660ti can handle. I had minor problems when first starting up the game but those were fixed easily. Ubisoft is usually really good about making well optimized games. So my final Verdict? If you can't enjoy a game because its repetitive then this is definitely not for you, but if you think you'll enjoy it you probably will. Expand

Still to this day, The Division is still a graphically great game, I'm running the game all on High settings and the scenery is just jaw-dropping. I really wish this game had a photo-mode. I'm 5 hours into the game writing this review and for some reason I want to do all the side missions and encounters, something that I rarely do nowadays because in some games it serves no purpose. In this game, it has a purpose so you can upgrade your headquarters. Sure the enemies are bullet spongy but that's what makes this game. If everything was 1 shot kill, then it would have just become another Wildlands or Breakpoint but taking place in New York.

As someone who hates the newer Assassin Creed titles (Origins, Odyssey & Valhalla) for being an RPG title now, I would rather play this MMO-RPG title, a game that's 4 years old than those newer games. And that's very interesting to say since I love the Assassin Creed titles (everything before Syndicate).

I'll be back to update this review after I beat the game.

    ----

After beating the game, here's my thoughts.

    (I'm playing on 'Normal' difficulty)

The Division has 18 main missions. Each district has it's own side missions and encounters that you can gather by going into safe houses along with district bosses that you can defeat. After completing all of the side missions, head back to the safe house to earn a blueprint and XP.

I did most of the side missions and encounters before I started to play the main missions, after that was done I played the main missions and I completed the game in ~ 24 hours and played the last few missions on World Tier 2. To put that into perspective, I completed all the side missions from district levels 5 - 23 and I only had 4 out of the 18 main missions completed. I went to level 25 by just completing each district. Sadly I had to stop at the 24+ districts because I didn't have the Tech wing unlocked so I can't get better weapons to defeat these enemies with Gold health bars.

You can co-op through the entire time or solo the entire time (you just have to be pretty good at the game). I personally did it solo since people in matchmaking are pretty horrible at shooting. With this game not being 1 shot kill like Wildlands, stealth can't be done... sadly so don't try it. I haven't tried out the Dark Zone, I don't think I will. Based on watching other people play it, it's very loot-based where you need to have the best gear and a team before going in. If not, you will lose the fights.

In The Division, you can play however you want, whether it's doing all the side missions first or the main missions first, it's not very linear nor it doesn't hold your hand. If you go under-geared in a higher tier district or Dark Zone, you will get destroyed.

Districts are very repetitive with very similar encounters and side missions, but I don't mind it, though some will dislike the game because of this. Each district adds new scenery which kinda makes it new'ish in a way. As I stated, I enjoyed the game to the point where I did the side missions first (to get the repetitive content out of the way).

The only issue I really have with the game is what whenever I launch the game, it launches in Windowed mode. Pretty annoying, but nothing game breaking. I get fantastic FPS on High settings and I haven't had any server issues.

A lot of people dislike The Division but it's really a great game, I loved every second of it... as you can tell by how many hours I put into it. The Division is definitely a game if FPS gamers that want an MMO-RPG game, they should have this game in their library.

Admittedly after a lengthy absence from MMO I was dubious to expect too much from Ubisoft with such a hyped release, but after hearing positive reports from colleagues I invested my time into The Division.

The plot has you assume the role of a paramilitary agent and while while enjoyable, there isn't really a morale system or dialogue choices, just choices in the missions.. But that said i found myself abit confused the first few confrontations with the enemy, coming in quietly and observantly and struggling to come to terms while being in an open world as it is there is no option for stealth nor is it rewarded apart from triggering the next battle.. It's almost a sin in the world of MMO and classes and opens worlds to not have that freedom, a perplexing mistep, lazy even and I believe holds it back. The rest of the game becomes a borderland-esque mission fest.. it's only RPG as so much as picking what you wear and where you go next, and the game world feels fairly alive and interesting, most of all starkly beautiful.

(An important note: I think Ubisoft and Nvidia should be commended for this well optimised game, my pc didn't meet minimum specs.. lol and yet still it runs beautifully and i have fairly decent experience on low/medium with a late model GTX 570 and 2600k i7 running completely stock)

-Character: I like the basic character customization for this game. I don’t have to spend 30 min deciding if I want a pointed chin or a round one, like in most of the newer RPG's. I don’t even see my face most of the time, so the lack of character customization does not bother me. I can still make a super-hot chick that decimates the weak.
-RPG: Once again if you read most of the reviews

I don’t even see my face most of the time, so the lack of character customization does not bother me. I can still make a super-hot chick that decimates the weak.
-RPG: Once again if you read most of the reviews people cry about how simple the RPG system is. I agree it lacks real depth. You basically have three choices, tank, assault, and support. I know you can make a marksmen but I consider that to be a support or assault class. The RPG aspect of the game is just enough to give you some difference. It gives you the options to make a character that is not like everyone else. Sure some will be the same and some builds are better than others. I have not seen a build that hinders your ability to get through the game. All in all the RPG aspect of the game is good and enough for me.
-Graphics: The game looks amazing on my system. GTX780 on maxed out settings. I know this will change depending what card you run and the system. I can only speak from personal experience on my system. Sometime I catch myself just looking at lighting or water/ground objects. There is great detail in most items and structures. Overall the graphics are amazing and I could not ask for more. Enough said!
-Progression: The games progression flows well enough going through the first 30 levels. There is never a time where you have to look for something to do or grind like in a normal RPG. The missions are simple enough to find and as you progress and they become more difficult as you gain levels. Many people do not like the repetition factor. The main missions do not repeat at all. NO MAIN MISSION IS THE SAME. That being said I am speaking from the progression standpoint not endgame. Yes I know the side-missions are just different variations of the same 5-8 missions you come across. There is enough break in the side missions to where you don’t do the same per area. IE: Water missions, after the first few zones you don’t have to do one for a while. This is enough break for me to not get annoyed with side-missions while progressing. Level progression is seamless, and works out to where you are never behind and have to catch up to be able to move to the next area. Another thing about progression it is complete solo if that’s what you want. I don’t like playing with people all the time so the solo aspect of the game works for me.
-Combat: “This is where the game shines.” First let’s get the bad out of the way. The enemies are bullet sponges and yes the cover system and be a little clunky. Could you imagine if you killed an enemy with 1-5 bullets and bosses with 6-10 bullets? There would be no point in playing the game. When playing a shooter like this you have to expect the enemies to take a lot of damage. Second the cover system is good probable a 6.5-8 out of 10. I can count on both hands how many times my character has been stuck or messed up in some way with cover. A lot is user error, if you slow down just a little and plan out moves. You can easily cut the time you mess up in cover. With the two biggest complaints out of the way let’s focus on the good things. Pure and simple the combat is challenging and exciting. I have personally experienced multiple time where me and my group mates talked about how intense the combat sequence was. No two combat experiences will be the exact same. There are so many different ways to approach combat that it really lets you handle combat in a new and fun way every time. The cover system combined with the grenades and different character builds is refreshing and really showcases what is great about The Division.
-What I did not cover: I did not have much interaction with the Dark Zone. I have been in there for around an hour and from what I can see its going to be fun and scary all at the same time. It has a real Survivor feel to it and I am always watching my back. Especially when getting my gear out. I also just reached level 30 and only have a gear score of 145. So I am not sure how the end game will treat me or how much I will either hate it or love it. I have been on the grind for a week so I do have some experience, just not enough to commend on the end game at the moment.
-Final Thoughts: Overall the game is great for both players who solo and group. Great Graphics/combat. Some things need to be fixed, but overall it feels complete. I have only experienced two glitches so I can’t comment on them as they did not harm my game play all that much. The game is only a little over a month old. Give it sometime and I am sure it will become the masterpiece I know it can be.
    Thanks for reading,

I must admit, this being Ubisoft's game I didn't even kid myself about the quality, but hey - here we are with a quality product. My friend took the risk and bought the game on day 1, but after some time playing he recommended I get it too and I'm having a blast so far. The graphics are great, the gameplay flow is very Destiny-esque or Borderland-y (in terms of weapons).

If yes to these then this is a solid, solid game. I understand where the negativity comes from but this game has so much going for it and it has a lot of gameplay coming.

    Pros:
1.) Beautiful, beautiful world... I can't stress how amazing the game looks on the PC and Ubisoft did a great job at re-creating New York City. (I am by no means a fan of Ubisoft. Only games I own from them is the Farcry series and The Division)

2.) Co-op is very, very fun. I have two other buddies that I plan with and it makes the whole experience great!

3.) Missions are fun. All the missions are pretty fun. Side missions are okay but is more geared towards getting gear and blueprints. The game is laid out like this... there are regions many regions within the game with different lvl requirements. You jump from one safe house to another finishing problems the neighborhood has and doing encounters to unlock your skills/talents and technology for your base. I would say about 35 hours of gameplay for missions and single player

4.) The fights are fun. It starts pretty slow but soon enough you will have enemies coming from all directions with snipers in the back, assault/LMG in the middle and shotgunners charging you while grenades are being tossed to blow your cover.

    Cons:

1.) server issues... this will get better. I actually didn't have any issues lately
2.) end game is weak and the dark zone still needs some revamping but Ubisoft already laid out 3 paid expansions with content and 2 free expansions

Bottom line: World looks great. The gun fights feel authentic(some bugs with AI, but still tough at times). One of my favorite co-op games (Please find friends to play with). Lots of promising new content. It is worth the $48 I spent on the PC version download from GMG. I think you can get it for $44.

To me, it's worth the money. I have already had 35 hours of fun gameplay with friends. The story is great too if you pay attention to it. If you hate loot grind games like Diablo, Warframe, etc.. then I don't think it is worth it for you to get this game. I love loot games so I thoroughly enjoy it.

Very Repetitive. The gunplay itself is fun, but the cover system is janky, and cumbersome.. If you have played Watch Dogs, or Ghost Recon you have already tried out the gunplay/cover mechanic.. If like me, you have zero interest in pvp, and you absolutely despised the Dark Zone, and further lack of content, than this game isnt for you (us).. Theres occasional npc's to fight in DZ,

Gameplay wise it is okay I guess, there is quite a bit of repetition to it, go from A to B and kill C or go from A to B to C to D and find person E. It's variety comes from the landscape that these missions take place in, different parts of NYC. There are some elements which are very undersold or not well explained - like the crafting mechanics, I just don't get it - they're so basic but not explained to you in any shape or form.

The characters in the game are quite good, they're actually well acted well thought out and some of them are likeable. I particularly like the vendors who randomly yell things at you like as you are walking to another part of the map they yell - "You won't buy quality things over there!". Missions are good, but just like the side activities - feel repetitive and the excitement comes from the locations you're playing them out in.

The PVP dark zone is great, you can be a complete pain in the behind and murder everyone or go in there and find some great equipment and leave. Depending on what you want out of it, it can be interesting.

Finally Graphics - yes it has been lightly downgraded from the initial E3 demo we were showed, you aren't getting dynamic textures which change with weather and snow any more and the fidelity of the cars seems less. But by and large this is the most beautiful game open world game I have ever played. The atmosphere of NYC is brilliant and it really feels like a damaged city. Sounds / Atmospheric effects and music are all excellent.

However don't think you will run this at 60fps on 1080p/Ultra settings on anything less than a 980ti. I have not experienced any bugs or glitches, but it is a beast to run.

Overall it is a good game, but there is a caveat that it isn't as great as you are probably going to think it will be and the repetitive nature of the game will likely grate on you.

You’re part of the division, sent in by the US government to assist emergency responders and restore order.
The game starts in Brooklyn but opens up when you enter Manhattan…
This game is online only and is absolutely brutal…
Probably one of the hardest if not hardest third person shooter I’ve ever played…
If you’re playing by yourself… you’re not making it to the end unless you’re a 360 no scope mlg pro..
I am not... so I teamed up with a squad the entire way….
But this isn’t your typical 3rd person shooter…
    There are no head shots...
Enemies have hp rather than just being vulnerable humans... they’re armored up and bullet spongy…
I didn’t realize the type of game this was at first so I felt frustrated, only to remind myself borderlands is the same way…
So this is more or less a 3rd person borderlands with none of the color or humor…
My Love for the Division slowly grew on me… and I did eventually fall in love…
But halfway through the game, my love evaporated.
In the division you can explore the city of Manhattan either alone or with a crew of up to 4 players, there are 19 main story missions in this game that increasingly have a higher level requirement…
Each mission will give you roughly 1 level.. And you also gain xp from killing enemies, doing side missions, discovering new locations and finding collectibles…
And at first this feels great...
You’ll run down the street and run into an encounter and help whoever out and move on to the mission you were heading too…
You gain your first 5 levels without even trying…
Then you’re doing mission after mission... killing these insanely tough enemies… picking up their dropped weapons, finding loot and armor..
Getting supplies to work on the different wings of your base to unlock new skills and abilities...
Assigning these abilities to your 2 and eventually 3 ability slots…
It’s so frustrating and so addictive at the same time…
Coming up with strategies with your teams mates during tough sections..
    Providing health, cover, and distraction…
This is why it’s important to play with others…
On your own you can’t be revived… enemies do take less damage... but it isn’t worth being sent back to a checkpoint each time you die to an area of respawned enemies…
You’re heading into the dark zone to look for contaminated but more powerful loot, killing other players to increase your dark zone level to leave with better gear
And you’re halfway through the game..
You’re level 13... The next missions enemies are level 16 no big deal…
You’ve got your awesome crew... you can handle anything.
    Nope.
You can’t play missions more than 2 levels ahead of you… and by the way... from the halfway point forward... every single mission is going to be 3 levels ahead of you
No big deal, levels have been handing out levels…
Surely side missions and encounters and collectibles will do the same.
    They don’t.
XP is so insanely slow in this game and I’m convinced there’s only a leveling system here to slow the player down... to make them do the boring side stuff instead of shoot their way through these hour long main missions….
There’s really nothing else to explain it…
It isn’t to make you more powerful in battle…
Fights are just as hard from the start as they are at the end... Enemies level with you…. And most of the time unless you grind with the boring stuff are even 2 plus levels ahead
And it isn’t to unlock perks or new weapons... because you get all of this from enemies and completing main stories…
You can replay mast missions on hard mode for better loot.. but it rewards to xp at the end which is complete nonsense…
Level requirements for main missions kill pacing…
and the laughably small amount of xp you get for killing enemies which by the way is the exact same you get for killing a boss is even more of a joke.
There’s not a chance you’ll level up mid story mission…
It’s not happening you’re gonna be just as weak in the final boss battle as you were going in…
The combat here is extremely fun though and offers a great deal of variety in its perks, weapons, and mods to make your character feel like yours…
I’m not sure why they smack you with a wall halfway through and force you to do the fetch quest nonsense around Manhattan
The division takes some time to grow on you.. And once it finally does it turns into an unfun forced grind. I Give the Division an 8.0/10

It's kind of an MMO, but lacking features; it's kind of an RPG, but lacking depth; it's kind of a tactical 3rd person shooter, but lacking realism. However, as a whole the game simply works... surprisingly well I might add.

    Anyway, let's break it down:

    The Bad
    - Still a bit buggy (getting stuck in objects, disconnecting, falling through levels).
    - Enemies don't need to be far above your level to make them severe bullet sponges. This leads to...
    - Grouping issues, since characters more than 3 levels above/below cause severe balancing issues.
    - Skills are unlocked by doing side-missions instead of levelling up. This leads to...
    - ...if you spend a while doing missions in a block (without going back to the safe house), you feel like you are getting nowhere until you do finally get back and suddenly unlock tons and tons of skills all at once.
    - The loot is very "meh". Other than increasing damage/dps/armour numbers, nothing really makes you too thrilled with getting new loot. It is also replaced very quickly as you level.
    - No incentive to start another character - every one is EXACTLY the same and there is no permanent skills/classes to "shake it up".
    - It's repetitive. 1-30 is fun, but end-game will not be for everyone. To be fair, I am never a fan of these end-game MMO-ey things anyway... it's the journey there that I prefer and will not be playing the endless grinding raids etc. If you do not plan on doing this then this may not be so much of a "con".

    The Good
    - Combat is very enjoyable. It is fluid, tactical and the cover mechanics are spot on.
    - Great fun co-op with a group of friends.
    - Ability to respec whenever you wish.
    - It looks gorgeous and runs surprisingly smoothly too.
    - Easy to pick up and play.
    - Lot's to do and a large open world to explore.
    - 4 Character slots so that you can have several different leveled characters in play.
    - Plenty of skills (and mods for them), talents and perks to choose from.

So, in summary, it's a flawed, but very enjoyable game. Worthy of a thumbs up and certainly not deserving of all the negativity. With any luck, patches and DLC may fix some of the issues and add some required features.

Really fun game to play with your friends and coordinate as a team. Some server stability issues at launch but that is understandable. I feel like some of the negative reviews are just because they expected an entirely different game or set their expectations through the roof.

I would call it a good game that should provide a couple hundred hours of enjoyment at least. It's a fun shooter best enjoyed with your buddies. The graphics are butter smooth, and the attention to details like *auto run" are nice. The servers have been solid for me after the release day hiccup. The character skills and loot have depth (still discovering things). This game is not a grinder (Ark Survival Evolved is a grinder). It is a bit repetitive and the bad guys all look very similar. That said, much like in the Rainbow Six Vegas series that didn't matter, it was still a lot of fun to group up with buddies and throw bullets at bad guys. The bad guys are a bullet sponges by I personally enjoy that play once in awhile. Coming from playing ARMA III a military simulator where 1 well placed round kills you and you lose everything and must start from scratch. I found The Division to be a refreshing less serious shooter. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Ubisoft, and the fact that we have to tie a UPlay account to the game (even if somewhat automated through Steam) is lame. That said, reviewing The Division on the merit of the game and separating my opinion from the developer. This game is enjoyable. It has gaps, it's nowhere near perfect but what game really is. If you want to enjoy some co-op shooter play that brings you back to the good ol' days of Rainbow Six Vegas with some additional depth, The Division might be just what you are looking for. Expand

Let's get on to it. The graphics are awesome, the sound environment is not too bad. You can feel that you are in a city left in ruin. It can get repetitive to hear the same scream sometimes but, it is not the worst sound environment that i heard in a video game.

At the beginning, the game is trying to insert you as an operative part of the Division. I was a little bit disappointed when i realize the weakness of the character creation. It's frustrating when you're entering a Safe House and you encounter a bunch of clones. Ubisoft should have made a character creator solid as the Skyrim one in my opinion. After that, you are eager to build you char and unlock the most of the Skills to be able to try them. After a while, it's getting boring and repetitive.
The Dark Zone is not a bad idea but, it takes a bunch of low life to destroy the fun and that's what you usually meet. I don't care to be stripped of the items i successfully found but after that, give me a break!! Go away! Anyway. The Division do not deserve a 0 or a 3, it deserves a 7 and over. Ubisoft did not reinvent the wheel with The Division but it's a nice wheel ;-) Maybe in the future, they will innovate by listening to the users.

    But a 0!?!?! Not a chance....

If you believe this is a twitch shooter in the ilk of COD or HALO, look elsewhere. If you are a Tom Clancy fan, this game is REALLY thin in terms of the Clancy universe and it's use of the license. In fact, I am still not sure why they decided to use the Tom Clancy brand for this game, other then for marketing purposes. If you saw the movie Contagion, then you know EVERYTHING this game has to offer regarding plot and story. However, what does make it effective; and even frightening; is that this is highly plausible today as well.

About the game, I was involved in the beta process and thought the game was thin and left a lot to be desired. The Rouge system and the Dark Zone were defiantly intriguing mechanics that the game offered and I thought there was true innovative potential to be had there. But after investing a fair amount of time into the game, and having 30 level maxed my open world agent and partaken in quite a bit of endgame content, this game is thin on content at the moment, but a surprising blast to play through. I found myself highly addicted and hooked, minus the repetitive nature to grind some of the supplies for the 3 wings.

I did buy the Season Pass, but I would recommend holding off on that until the first couple waves of expansions are rolled out.

The fusion between loot-shooter and open world RPG is both fascinating and interesting at the same time. I can see what Ubisoft had envisioned when developing this game and fleshing it out, but this vision is still a work in process.

New York being digitally rendered into the game is truly breathtaking, as are the various weather effects used within the game. This game might be a trend-setter for all to come in that department. How you progress through the game is well-handled as well; having to collect supplies to unlock various stages of progression in each of the 3 primary wings of your base; which is the post office located next to Madison Square Garden in downtown Manhattan.

Without droning on, or spoiling anything; I would highly recommend this game if you have a decent rig and like 3rd person shooters, open world explorers, or RPG progress-ers. If your a 1st person shooter fanatic, this game just isn't for you. Important to note, it is quite possible to beat the Open World portion of the game solo; but you will need to pair up with other agents if you wish to effectively tackle the endgame content. If this turns you off, also steer clear.
In closing, the loot system is great; very effective at awarding appropriate trinkets for the effort invested, and the story, while thin, is great at setting up the "world" of post-pandemic New York. The factions in the game are well fleshed out and utilized too; my favorite being the Cleaners, who are both menacing to look at, but hilarious to gun down.

However, everything here, from dialogues to general visual exploration it’s a solid base even for a possible movie considering that a passive entertainment will never give the same grade of immersion, logically.
Technically it’s one of the most changed game since day one that will be forever remembered. We got many issues, from simple environment bugs such enemies behaviors, respawns, bullets impact to the most frequent connectivity problems related to Ubisoft servers (initially wrongly managed from the company then strongly protested from many users around the globe, including myself) that took a minimum of 6 months of fixes, patches during (even) our online testing and several problems on the firsts add-ons like “Underground” that kept us away few additional months from playing it decently.
Now, everything is pretty much fixed, with plenty of rooms for improvements especially on the last add-ons. DirectX12 gave a considerable enrichment to textures detail and lights that are absolutely stunning due to the fact that also the frequent drivers updates (Nvidia on my system) came back as well on framerates. Visually it’s very close to realism and probably a good reference for many other similar games that will come. But this depends from the main artistic direction. It is a cinematic product because the story it’s relatively serious and realistic (a possible real future? I hope not, it will be dramatic!). The main story isn’t so short and is part of the initial character development that will follow up with the add-ons genuinely designed for increasing the players experience. I found Underground particularly nice and playable now, it basically gives a random dungeon structure that takes a little break, variant from the usual game play but also the rest follows the same logic in order to avoid the most common problem of many games: repetitiveness.

So, avoiding that common “black cross” inside gaming sphere we all have experienced a title that initially presented the price that you have to pay when a game, no matter how much sophisticated and spectacular is, will be entirely designed to be online. However, The Division still suffer from something that should be the strongest point: effective cooperation between players. You are almost forced to organize yourself outside the game in order to join into a decent group of players because what is missing here is exactly the same thing that made Destiny one of the strongest co-op games: the ability to have someone that may join in anytime and anywhere. At any point of the game. The Division depends from briefing rooms that basically are a bottleneck, a paradox compared to the potential and other many things that could offer but at the same time is strongly dependent due to the necessity to update the character equipment buying/selling/crafting items. It was maybe too much difficult for the developers to make the choice of building just one giant HQ (like Destiny) where players can do general briefing. It’s just designed differently and it’s dependent from Manhattan structure itself where only the central area is available, excluding Central Park that could be lovely to explore and play as an alternative dark zone for a possible next update. It’s an ideal area for some extra extraction point, in my opinion.

At this point, the developers will update for something cool to come or just will use their achieved experiences for a more substantial sequel? Who knows. One thing is for sure: The Division will reach something important if all the positive, actual things will be kept then others will be implemented for something really unique inside this type of gaming.
The Division put a chance, like a match point, to become a pioneer of a new era if (especially) the marketing campaign will act more honestly at the very beginning. Ubisoft advised!

    Cheers!

ABOUT THE GAME: could have been much better, but is decent. the story is good. I am a lone wolf so I can't say much about the cooperative and multiplayer side of the game. if you choose missions in hard mode or go against enemies with highier level than yours, then you need to shoot them for a long time before they die, while they can kill you with two or three punches and bullets. the exploration is nice. you can enter some buildings and explore alleys and inside neighborhoods and parks. it makes you want to visit the real city. but most secondary missions are simple, repetitive or forgettable. the protagonist has no story nor voice. you are just one of many agents. there are more than a hundred articles of clothing, but less than a dozen faces for your character, and you can't modify the facial features. the soundtrack is forgettable. you can't do stealth kills with silencer nor knife. but you can hide from NPCs walking through streets if they are too powerful. you can find dozens of pages, audios and other things that build a better picture of what happens in the city.

this is no short game. you will spend many many hours exploring and doing missions. you probably won't hate this game. but neither will love it.

Most "main" missions seem exciting so far. You can choose to play any "main" mission at higher difficulty for better rewards but I couldn't do it while playing solo and with the lvl of weapons I had.

No bonus gear because vendor is broke or something, support says they are working on it. Not surprised with game with this scope but disappointed. By the time we get the gear it might be below our level except for the appearance gear.

World of Warcraft, Diablo3 and SW TOR had worse issues at their initial launch. I am surprised that the servers have been so stable. (so far)

Seems lots of different things to collect if your into that. (I'm not)

Overall Game is fun to play and can't wait to play some after work. Hoping the content keeps up.

As you uncover more of the story you start fighting against tougher enemies and the objectives start to change a bit. It still suffers from the majority of the missions being similar but I will say the game is a lot of fun once you've settled in.

Story as you expect from Tom Clancy games is pretty good. The shooting controls feel just fine for a 3rd person shooter, with the option of going 1st person using scopes. You can mod weapons, collect gear, change your appearance and build up your skills.

Matchmaking makes the game a lot of fun, and I recommend putting it on harder difficulty settings cause it's too easy on normal. The map isn't too big but it's big enough. But you should know this is the very definition of a cover shooter. You even have abilities that let you create cover. Taking a lot of hits will kill you very fast, but if you use cover and use your abilities optimally you won't encounter too much difficulty.

All in all it's a fun game to play with some friends... but I would recommend maybe waiting for it to go on sale or wait till they add more content. It isn't breaking new ground but it's not completely unoriginal. It's good, not great but good.

Ubisoft's reputation for repetition will only get worse thanks to this game. It sucks cause their games are visually impressive and they're well designed too. I just wish they would put a little more creativity into the objectives.

The world building is The Division strongest feature, with NYC represented in such a meticulous way, with an added sense of despair, and dread that really makes you feeling as if this city is in the clutches of disease. Unfortunately the story does not elaborate on characters much, and is more of a tone setter for the multiplayer components.

The gun play is solid, and the mechanics are respectable, but this is very much an RPG then it is a shooter. The loot drops are good, however most drops are similar and the feeling of progression isn't high. The main missions are the best part of The Division, with varying objectives, and fun moments, however the side quests get very repetitive after a while, and this leads to a sense of tedium.

Overall i feel like the division is a well created world, with a great sense of immersion, however mission structure, and lackluster loot drops pull down the experience for me.

Technically it was great, with good performance, visuals, audio, voice work and gameplay, it's a very well made game and just solid overall. It did get a little repetitive towards the end but in general the quests were quite varied and I never felt particularly bored. The only real technical issue I had was in the PvP DLC Last Stand which didn't run anywhere near as well as the main game, often dropping under 60fps whereas the main game never did.

Overall it's a very well made game with tons of content for solo players and groups alike, it's in a really good state now, most of the negative reviews are pre patch 1.5 when there wasn't much to do, the game is considerably better than it was at launch.

The Division was a games that promised more than it could actually provide. There was a huge hype train for this game and many people considered it as a "modern" version of Destiny. The gameplay is is very fun for the first couple hours until it becomes very repetitive and the graphics are average and definitely way worse than the graphics we saw in all of the trailers at E3 before the game was released. The combat feels like a generic cover-based 3rd person shooter. The voice acting is not that good and sounds very dull. Even at 30fps, the game still has many frame rate drops on consoles and the open world does not feel that "natural" and feels more artificial and fake. It is pretty empty. The character customization is average but not the best. But players can still look unique among others. The game had a great idea but was put in the hands of the wrong developer which is what my opinion is. So much content is being locked out and put in 3 expansions! However, I have hope that with further updates, this game still has potential to be a great game. But for now, this game needs plenty of improvement. Thank you for reading this review! :)

One thing I must **** about is the lack of character customization. You get 8 face choices, with some minor adjustments. And that's about it. So you will be shooting your clone when you PVP. This was a big disappointment for me.

I like the concept of games that rely heavily on a loot system, and Division certainly offers that. It also offers a great detailed city, with pretty graphics and stuff to explore (I mean, you can listen to lost mobile phones for hours alone).

My main issue with this game is the gameplay itself. The game tries it's best to be realistic but kinda half-asses it all the way through.

My main issue with this game is the gameplay itself. The game tries it's best to be realistic but kinda half-asses it all the way through. Granted, my impressions of Division might be tainted a bit because I've sunk quite a lot of hours in Warframe last month, the game that has a really vague concept of cover simply because you have no time nor reason to sit in it since you can jump fifteen meters in the air, then glide in bullet time firing akimbo shotguns before impaling someone to the ground with the sword twice the size of you. After that the Division, the game where "take cover" is bound to the LARGEST button on the keyboard by default seems like an unpleasant change of pace. Oh sure, it's meant to be realistic, but did it make the game more fun? Unlike Warframe (yes I will keep bringing the comparsion up) where movement is crucial to your survival, you spent half of your time staring at beautifully detailed cracks in a traffic barrier.

Guns. While there are a lot of them, they all feel the same (since all of them pretty much fire different variations of bullets). Sure, games like BF4 offer a lot of customizable weapons that fire variations of bullets, but since BF4 is an FPS, the gun always takes the major part of your screen, you see the chamber and reload animations in all their glory. In the Division there's no such feeling. Sure, the guns might be rendered and animated very well, but you see so little of them and the fact that every gun turns into a peashooter if you see an enemy with a slightly higher number next to his health bar does not help. Seriously, Ubisoft, why couldn't you throw in a grenade launcher? There's so much military-grade **** littered throughout NYC, surely there must be one or two M320s in the pile.

Same problem goes for customizing guns. Yeah, you can put a sight on your weapon, but you will always peep at an unsuspecting enemy with the same third-person reticule nonetheless firing the same hitscan bullets.

I want to like this game, I really do, and it's not a bad game by any means (except for the atrocious cover system). But it seems unnecessary slow (blame Warframe for this one), and I don't see a single reason it was anything but improved if it was in first-person.

Quests outside of 'daily's' and the Dark Zone (pvp enabled quest area) are very limited but still very fun for the few days that they are original. It is very enticing up to that end game content (again a week probs) and you will enjoy it with a group or on your own. You're looking at about a weeks play perhaps sooner if you have a high level friend that wants to race you through. I don't recommend that as you become a mere spectator in missions as his level dictates how strong the enemies are.

So it's been a few days and you're at end game.

There is plenty of customisation available to make the agent you desire. You can be an in your face shotgun playa or you can hang back and provide support to the team with great heals or big damage bombs. Much like any MMO there are a lot of build customisation options. I'd go as far to say more options than a usual MMO, build wise. Perhaps solely because no cookie cutter builds are really documented as yet. It's great but with the lacklustre controls that are the result of a console port it's easy to get stuck on the cover you intended to jump with guns blazing enough to eliminate the enemy twice over... Instead you're still stuck on the front bumper of a burnt out car saying 'one sec please' just gotta get unstuck by this car.. gonna jump right over.. wait no i'm still stuc on the other side but just wanting to separate and I got this... one sec no on the bonnet now just gimme another moment man.. actually can you please tell that grenade guy not to send his 13th grenade because I am still stuck and really that isn't fair. Who takes 13 grenades into a fight.

This game is enticing much in the way the Diablo 3 was. In fact it is a very similar game except for 3rd person / first person combat style. It does incorporate PVP however they've actually made attempts to balance it and you'll find yourself compelled to fill that gap in your item list just to compete. There's no auction house so it does feel good when you get an upgrade. Just know you'll fee bored with repetition until you finally get the item that fills a gap and can actually be used.

I'm enjoying playing this but not sure if it just due to lack of a better game to play or i really like it

The Division is a 3rd person shooter with RPG elements. We play in a post apocalyptical Manhattan that was caught by a human engineered disease that wiped almost the entire population. I've always asked myself why this sort of stuff always happens in Manhattan. Poor people...

The graphics are quite impressive, I must say. I do not know the city, but all stuff that I've seen seemed quite close to what I imagine. It seems real. It's not common for me to get this kind of feeling. Buildings, streets, cars, people, animals... I quite like how all those elements were mixed to create this world.

All the sounds set together create an immersive environment to walk around. NPCs have a proper amount of voicelines, and sometimes we pass by them and they are making a proper dialogue. We are quite able to sense desperation. When we see someone in need and we are able to help him, it's quite rewarding, at least it was to me.

The only sound I do not like a lot was the one from the guns. It can be quite accurate, but it seems quite "short" like it was a paintball gun. Despite that, I guess I just had low tier weapons, and maybe that's not the case in the better ones.

    2 – GAMEPLAY

The gunplay is based on a cover mechanism, that I usually do not like. Most time it reminded me of Spec Ops: The Line, a game that I've loved, and probably that's the reason it gets me playing more at first. Glad I did it since the mechanics are very well balanced. We can do missions in co-op, up to 4 players, and it was quite easy to find players from my level to join me in any mission. With proper tactics, the game becomes quite fun and engaging. When 4 players are able to work together some very interesting moves can be done, and sometimes we get a great sensation of accomplishment when we are able to defeat some stronger boss. NPCs are some sort of bullet sponges. Probably it would be possible to make them harder to beat without using that, but I admit is not the best system in the world... it's ok.

Unfortunately, we spend tons of time walking around, and that gets quite annoying after a while.

Main missions are balanced and exciting, but you will spend most of your time doing side missions to find loot, gear and level up your character. That's not optional. You have to do those or you will not be able to progress in the main plot since the NPCs get stronger way faster than you. For me, both of these aspects are the worst part of the game.

I got stuck in the main plot quite fast, and I was forced to start doing all the side missions suited to my character level... ohhh, and those are standalone missions... all to spend some time doing the main missions with 3 other guys.

I'm not entirely sure about the replay value of the singleplayer. I suppose that after you beat the game, and since you are forced to do so many side missions, there's not much interest in playing again, except if you are a completionist.

    3 – CONCLUSION

This is just a first impressions video. I've not tested many things, like multiplayer. I was not very tempted to try it also, I think the risk is bigger than the reward, and I wanted to give my best at the main mission.

I loved the way they have implemented the co-op. It's quick and easy to find someone to play with us.

People that have played with me was friendly, but the community on Reddit was not very talkative. Maybe since the game is mostly singleplayer, I do not know.

Without a sale, the price is quite high, but with a sale, the game is totally worth it just for the singleplayer alone. I think most of the initial bugs are now gone. It may not be the best game in the world, but I think most of the criticism is not deserved at this point.

    Very good game!

    Good UI Design

Game can get a bit repetitive at points, because of the low variety in mission types.
Controls are mediocre (no manual crouching, forced cover system.)

Character design/creation is of abysmal quality, with just a few very generic options.
expect to come across tons of people looking exactly like you.

Character clothing, even though there are many options,
most of them are simply recolors/retextures of the same item and feel very lackluster.
(no long coats, cool facemasks or puting your hoodie up)

No open world mutiplayer, if you play this game alone without friends, you will only see people inside the safehouse.

Dont bother getting any of the DLC , its not worth the money.
Just buy the base game only.

Free giveaway by Ubisoft on the Uplay store so that being said. Nothing amazing about this game beyond wandering around a massive city. Not really much interaction within the city really beyond loot, shoot and climb/descend a few ladders.

The Division looks almost as nice as the Division 2. I do really like the snowy theme of the game. Wow this game is more unforgiving than the sequel.

The Division looks almost as nice as the Division 2. I do really like the snowy theme of the game. Wow this game is more unforgiving than the sequel. I am getting murdered pretty quick for sure in PvE.

Whoa the bad guys are so accurate even at distance with like only pistols. Even more annoying they do that gangsta pose while shooting. So the bad guys are not even aiming for crap, but have dead eye sniper accuracy.

When I am done with Division 2 (only over a hundred hours in ). I will come back to this one as it is obviously more of challenge due to the dead aim A.I. I'd say Division 2 is more casual friendly to start out the Division experience for sure.

On revisiting I got into my rhythm. I only die when doing dumb stuff or not paying attention. Oh yeah I think I like this one more than two now. From the UI, the city, the story, the combat. I like the sniping better, but the close up hit detection and general hit boxes not so much.

This has some more nicer noticeable details over D2. Like the physics with general rubbish and litter. D2 looked more static and less interactive. D1 one also seems to have more verticality than D2. WIth lots of climbing and roof firefights. Even NPC people wandering around the city go into scavenging animations. So overall D1 has a more natural organics feel to it all than D2.

Got to level 30 and beat the story mode and yes soloing is doable. The way the Division games work after story mode is all about the chase for the better gear, pvp and Darkzone which doesn't really interest me.

Me as a lover of single games, quite liked the idea of online, so you can play alone or take on a few missions, players from the car selection, if you don't have a team. Just like, a large number of different equipment crafting system, upgrades, but the skill system is particularly scarce and can not identify which branch to play. It is necessary to highlight first impressions of "the Dark zone", where everything is much more fun and more serious and there definitely needs friends who will cover for you otherwise you'll die alone, but there is a downside, the constant arrival of enemy waves and appearing out of nowhere. Don't know how much is enough of this game in terms of hours, but I would've easily played about 25+, the gameplay is of course repetitive and can be boring even after a couple of hours.

-Another disadvantage is boring gameplay. After 10 hours of playing you may have feeling, like watching how the paint dries. But if you play with friend it may not feel like it.

If to talk about advantages we may see good atmosphere, which will make you walk around snowy streets and abandoned buildings. Graphics are worse, then in trailer, but still pretty ok, if you'll forget about 0.01 polygon birds and other things like that.
-To me, tactics are one of the most amazing things here, only here, without saying a word, my team did what was necessary.

-Cool feature that haven't bored me yet is that you can close car doors. But it is nothing to compare with the fact, that you can shoot off a chunk of big quantity of walls. It may sound stupid, but it is really hyper-satisfying.

-I hardly hold back to vote 10/10.

This game takes place in New York and even though I've never been to NYC i still got a good idea of the sense of scale of a big city with the design of the map in The Division. This city felt dense, it felt live in and alive even though most people have left or died from the pandemic. The environment was well designed with the side streets having a few cars scattered around yet the main arteries are jam packed with abandoned cars giving the impression that there was lots of panic and chaos. Also the streets had lots of luggage, garbage, checkpoints, and random messages and signs around that gave me lots to look at and immerse myself with, there was great story telling with the environment alone.

For the most part the guns felt okay at best, i really enjoyed the LMGs, but as someone who enjoys snipers, the sniper rifles in this game felt so weak and just not like a sniper at all as did some of the assault riles, the main mechanic which is gun fighting felt somewhat unsatisfying and it could definitely be worked on for future releases. One mechanic i did like was the cover system, it was a bit gears-like but more refined, i loved the indication system for where you move from cover to cover and maps out your course, it took a bit to see that cover was crucial but once i did the game became much easier to play, but if you hit heal button while trying to flee your character glitches out and just stands there like a fool to be killed that was somewhat annoying.

I'll end by talking a bit about the enemies in the game and this is where the game has it's faults. From the beginning to almost the end you fight the same hoodie blue jean thugs with the random super armour enemy thrown in to spice things up, and at the end it's just all super armour enemies. It was becoming a bit stale how as you rank and get these amazing guns and good loot but all you go up against are just higher level hoodie guys, and it was getting somewhat ridiculous how i was just emptying multiple clips into a hoodie thug just because he's a level 20.

From the amazing atmosphere of all the skyscrapers, thick snow storms and great loot to get i enjoyed this game and give it a good rating, but just barely good because the brainless bullet sponges almost did it for me, regardless this game won me over and i can't wait to play The Division 2.

Okayish game. A nice concept but badly developed story. Not much detail on the lore... Everything is being pushed by emails, phone recordings etc. All those do a good job conveying the "chaos" feeling that the city has due to the outbreak. Graphics... I found it amazing. Even for a 4 year old game, this game is great on the graphics side. I didn't even play on ultra, just high settings. I also found the game engine very good. It was very detailed and I had lots of fun shooting things around. Lightning was spot on, snowy places and snow itself was done very well.

The Pve part is great, engaging story and it's fun upgrading your toons. Where is suffers is to remain competitive you have to go into PVP in "the dark zone" where it's a griefers paradise. And when the Rogue types kill you it's bye bye to experience, money and keys. If the game had a pve version of the dark zone this would be a 9 or 10 game. As it is, I'd recommend you pass on it.

The themepark currency kills off any atmosphere and right now just sitting at drop-off locations calling helicopters and killing off the spawning goons (which are no challenge whatsoever) is the most efficient way of getting said currency - with which you can buy gear to get more currency with which you buy more weapons to get more... you get the idea. But what works in lootershooters or mmos doesn't work here because there is no threat. You don't need that stuff.

The Division is an odd mix of an ARPG Lootershooter and an MMO, without ever truly being either due to a woeful lack of meaningful character customization and loot. The best description of the game really is a shell -- because it could have so many great things, but instead it gives you 3 and you do them over and over for 30 levels in pve, and 50 or so of them in pvp.

The pve mode is enjoyable, but prepare to do a lot of the same things over and over with a different voice telling you what you're doing. 5-6 side quest missions per area with a different voice over in each area, and a main-story-ish mission per area... and when I say main story, I mean something vaguely linked to the last thing you did in the area to try and save the city.

Pvp is incredibly lackluster, and suffers from typical problems -- no balance between weapons and skills leading to a dominant weapon type and skill set, oh.. and it only really exists in the "dark zone". Sure, it sound ominous but it really means about 8 blocks worth of area you have to repeat kill stuff in for 50 levels. Yes. 50.

End of the day Destiny is a far better game, but it lacks the gritty ambiance of The Division -- which on systems that can support 4k resolutions looks fairly amazing. The problem with the game is what rests on the inside, and in that space there just isn't that much to do.

The story is okay but doesn't really have a conclusion in the game.

The integration of MP into the single player is also a pain in the neck. To enter the dark zone you need support and that is where the best loot is. Plus you end up meeting some hacker who grief kills you constantly.

Mission variety is also lacking - it is pretty much kill everything and the "detective" elements are totally wasted.

On the PC the controls are also a bit janky, most of my deaths happened as a result of not being able to get out of cover when a grenade was flung or failing to double tap the heal button quickly enough..

Some of the missions which I consider like instances in wow... are extremely difficult and with a group you can heal each other and revive each other but if by yourself you start over. Put simply the game is just repetitive. Every mission just consists of shooting waves of enemies, it's the same thing every time, kill a few weak enemies and then take out some bosses. There's no variety to the game, nothing which makes you want to play it more than 20 hours or so.

Despite the large map it just feels dead, everywhere you go looks and feels the same, and NPCs are just the same copied and pasted people everywhere. It seems like there's so much area to explore, yet there's nothing to actually obtain from exploring. Unless you have friends to play the game with it's an incredibly lonesome experience, and even with friends after about 10 missions you'll be bored of shooting thugs in hoodies.

Performance on PC also isn't great. Whilst I've had no technical issues so to speak the requirements to run the game are ridiculous. I'm using a GTX 980Ti and have to put everything on low/medium just to stay above 60fps, for those of you with 100+Hz monitors this game is practically impossible to run at that refresh rate without a crazy SLI setup.

Overall the game is alright, just nothing worthy of the hype surrounding its release. I'd recommend only getting this game if it's on sale, or if you genuinely enjoy just shooting waves of enemies endlessly.

-the world feels empty and shallow. Fits the setting, but sucks.
-Walking around sucks because of the above reason
-Encounters and side missions are very similar to each other
-Story is also shallow, characters are bland

It is a good game, but at least in my opinion, the hype was large but the game is hardly innovative. As I said, the realistic setting is great, but spongy enemies are a big contrast to that. It makes the game feel weird, for me.

If you like third person shooters, lots of loot and RPG mechanics, this game will please you. It is very shallow, but it has the potential to become something very cool as time goes by. Lets wait and see.

First of all .. the story was fun and entertaining. Done all side missions and everything, but after that .. came the big nothing. I regretted to buy this after 45 hrs spent, although that 45 hour was good, but expected something long term from the title. Unluckily it became just boring after finished story line and spent 10 hrs is DZ -.-

The enemies are very repetitive, and again very stupid. The gangsters running around 'popping caps' and taking about 384 bullets to kill seems really daft. With a team of people it definitely has fun moments, but I would never want to play this solo.

If the enemies were varied, the voice acting wasn't THE WORST, the AI was smarter, the story was better this game could be amazing. It's a great concept done very averagely. Here's hoping Ghost Recon Wildlands is done right!

I will carry on playing this - but I'm not overly impressed.

The world is incredibly detailed and depicts a populated city after an apocalyptic fallout very well. I personally found the combat fun, especially with friends.

Unfortunately, the game has some major short comings. The biggest one for me is the AI's utter stupidity. The game uses an aggro system where the AI will focus on one of your team mates over the rest, which is a fun mechanic. Except the AI are terrible at changing focus onto somebody else. It's not uncommon for the AI's to completely ignore you even when you're a couple feet beside them, gunning them down for several seconds. Enemies can also be suppressed behind cover by shooting at them for a bit. Which again is a great mechanic. Except they'll often remain turtled behind cover, doing absolutely nothing as you stand beside them, slowly shooting away their health bar. And lastly, they love climbing on top of vehicles, whilst being mowed down, for no discernible reason.

The other aspect I found incredibly disappointing is the lack of story. The story missions don't have any cinematics and since your character barely ever talks, most of the dialogue is just people telling you what to do. There's a problem that needs fixing, you fix it, fight a dull boss battle because his aggro AI gets bugged and that's it. Most of the story telling is done through phone recordings and 'echos' which are 3D freeze frames of an event that you can go around clicking on echo people to get voice recordings of what was happening at the time. (Which I found really boring). The game has very few cinematics and most of them tend to be just listening to some person talk about problems that need fixing. There's very little drama or action. Some of the best cinematics are brief clips of video footage taken at various places in the city, which seem to have been added as an after thought. The 'bosses' are also very dull and generic. They don't really come off as real people so much as just placeholders for something to fight against.

So all in all, the combat could have been better, but I still found it a lot of fun for the most part. I wish the story had been executed with more cinematics, rather than voice recordings.

Down to its core, the game is underwhelming, very little mission variety, go from A to B and shoot clones of hooded figures, and scavenge for loot until you feel like a conveyor belt worker.

The solo play is ok, but no challenge, it's always more of the same, unless you pump it up to hard difficulty to feel like it's worth clenching your buttcheeks, but that also gets old fast. The story is..interesting, but still nothing too memorable. You're just cleaning the streets and relive the same patterns like you're the main star in Groundhog Day.

The map looks bland and quite sterile compared to the trailers in the past, i'm afraid we'll have another case of Destiny with this one.

The Dark Zone was of little interest to me, but i guess it could be a nice relief from solo grind and boring A to B incursions.

The loot system is nice and boring at the same time. It all depends on your burnout meter, if you can handle the brief grinding sessions, then more power to you!

Currently, the 60$ price does not justify the shallow content. If they add more stuff in the future, i hope it's free or at least somewhere in the range of 5 dollars, but something tells me that will not be the case.

My suggestion: wait several months or maybe an entire year, for the complete edition with all dlcs to come out, maye wait for a sale, because right now this game feels like it's bone dry.

It's another bland Ubisoft product that still has chance to prove itself. It all depends on the future content.
Not holding my breath with this one.

The Division have been in development for quite some time as of now, although extremely hyped thanks to the misleading trailer released at the E3 2014 the game is indeed playable and enjoyable with a small group of friends but nothing memorable.

The game try to fit in two categories who are in contrast: it could be a tactical third person shooter but the extremely semplified enemy AI doesn't require extreme coordination to get rid of hordes of standing-by peons shrouded with hoodies and scarfs which, apparently, are made of some mystical material that absorb damage as if you were shooting with a NERF gun. This because the developers felt to blend in MMO or even MMO-RPG elements. But is The division a MMO-RPG? With a poor character customization , both aesthetically (a pool of 8 faces to choose from) and technically (few skills to choose from and no talent system so far), and non existing decisions to be taken , all set in a completely ignorable story in a nearby future, with no particular enemy , or no point in doing what you are doing if not for the sake of doing something, i would say "No". I'd also like to add that there is no way of crouching if not behind cover, no way to crawl, no stealth, no melee attacks, the little interaction with the surrounding (the above stated "crouching behind cover" and thats it) feels clumsy.

Is this game worth 60€? I feel the answer is negative. The actual state of the game doesn't have the variety that would hook you for more than 20 hours. The developers showed a promising planning for the year to come so maybe the game will gain interesting aspects during the course of 2016. If you are really into this genre of game, although i can't really imagine what genre of game this is, i would suggest to wait for Steam sale or some G2A deal.

I give this game a 6/10 while hoping that future releases will add contents and variety to what seems a dull game.

While this game was in development phase, it gave me hope and i was quite anxious to see the end result. I kept telling myself that Ubisoft got over their half-assed ways of building a game and actually learned from the past "mishaps."
    Nope, far from it.

+graphics. Yea, they nailed the graphics with this one, even if they downgraded, it still looks good.
+atmosphere. You can easily get immersed in the desolate streets and you can feel the chaos caused by the viral infection.
+ the audio has some nice synthy vibes, reminds me a bit of John Carpenter's 80s flicks.

~ gunplay and gameplay in general. It feels responsive and really satisfying. The cover based system is more of a neutral for me, i got pretty fed up with it in Gears of War, so it's nothing new here. Heck, i think even Mass Effect had a more fluid cover system.

~ story is really not speaking to me. It feels like a filler, a "nice to have" fragment that keeps you somewhat motivated to push from A to B.

~bugs and glitches, more of a neutral stance with this one, because they will probably get fixed soon, but still, it would be nice if you stopped from falling into the map once every 2 hours or so.

    - mission variety is lacking and repetition is mind numbing. I keep hearing from a lot of people that it has a lot of content. Yea, more of the same is technically a lot of content, but the quality of said content is thrown out the window. This is where you will get most of your godawful Destiny flashbacks. It's quantity over quality in this segment. There are a few types of side missions that follow the same repeating patterns until you feel sick to your stomach.

-/+ PvP. Not much of a pvp person myself, i guess it could be a nice change of scenery for some people, i pesonally don't really care, unless i can get a few friends together and just explore the DZ for other types of loot.

    - crafting is useless. You can get better stuff from shops. It's a waste and a constant grind that i cannot stand in a game of this caliber.
    - character customization is shallow. I like to spend a bit of time to fool around with my character's looks, but there are not too many options here. It's a bit tiresome to see players that are nothing more than walking mirrors. I expected more out of this feature. Same problem is with the enemy npcs. They all look like xeroxed gang members, with very few exceptions. This is one of those things that break immersion.

All in all, this game looks good, sounds good, but it's bland as hell.
Very little depth and almost no variation, no innovation, nothing special to write home about.
I give this game a 6.5, it still has a lot of potential for the near future, but right now it is NOT worth 60$. No way.

Also, to the people giving this a perfect 10: you are being ridiculous.
I keep seeing these flimsy arguments like "CoD kids should look elsewhere." It's the tunnel vision fanboys that give this game more bad rep, praising mediocrity into the high heavens and getting buttblasted over honest criticism. I think people need to be more vocal and more constructive with their criticism, otherwise we'll keep seeing the same boring patterns in future gaming.

They allow for so much customization with each ability being unique and have different perks to them if you want like the sticky bomb can have a bigger explosion and deal more damage. The perks and talents affect your character with the all the talents being different with some being better than others. The perks are unlocked by upgrading you Base of Operations. The guns and armor can all have different perks and that is nice as you will hardly ever find the same piece with the same buffs but there are so many that it is difficult to completely customize your character the way you want as there can sometimes be to much to control. The "story" mission are fun and interesting with all of them being different but it lacks interesting characters on the "good" side with some of the "bad" guys being unique and interesting. The world it is in has a very depressing and ominous feel to it when you discover things like mobile recordings and echo's. The collectibles are cool and give a back story to a game that has no story but there is so much to collect that sometimes it can get annoying when the next one is on the other side of the map.

Next is PVP which isn't the best but can sometimes have fun moments. However, the problems are numerous and even with the recent patches there are still huge problems. I feel like enemies don't spawn outside of landmarks which forces you to fight extremely hard enemies that are like Chuck Norris on speed. Also, don't bother going in solo as every enemy will kill you in seconds and you can be an easy target for rogue agents. The drops in general are OK but I find it annoying that I get greens or blues when I have full purples as there is no point in picking them up as you can only carry 7-9 items that you should save for purples or yellows. This game is OK but there are many problems with it and the problems are easy to fix with a few patches but we shouldn't have to wait 1-2 months before we get the game we were meant to get. It is a trend that could severely damage the industry.

    Thanks for reading.

THe gameplay is fun, but you can get bored of it really quick.
The games does have an story, but is a pretty forgetable story, quickly in the game you'll lost interest of it and will be doing things only because the fun the game may offer to you.
The map is divided by level and that may take the exploration factor away, your qyests will also be go here get "x" object and return, main quest are a bit longer.
Enemies are also not a strong point in this game, you wll be fighting the same guys over and over again, with an occasional boss only being a stronger version of the the usual mobs.
I recommend this if you have a group of firends to play with, if not the game may get boring really fast.
