    -No single player campaign.
-80% of the content requires vast amounts of grind to unlock.
-A max of 6v6 players per match.
    -Requires Origin to run.
    -Average graphics.
    -The parkour is quite fun.

It is everything I've wanted in a PC shooter recently, and it doesn't have all the baggage a COD or BF has to lug around. I feel like I got my money's worth. I do desire additional customization and matchmaking options in game, and I would gladly buy paid DLC for more content. Expand

First of all I want to congratulate Respawn for the perfect start of the game, I only saw one bug in the game for the first 2 weeks which surprised me and I was happy that we had a problem free release, not li other titles which I will not mention (CoD Ghosts, Battlefield 4). The game is fresh and dynamic, but nothing special.
This game does not cost 60€, it’s 30€ max. So we have small maps, that are static, some destruction would have been good, but a little and not Battlefield 4 level of destruction, because if we have no walls we can’t wallrun. Extremely small customization options which is an insult to players, 12 weapons with 3 attachments each from which you can only use 2, are you kidding me? Call of Crap Casper has more options than that. 3 of the maps are boring and are designed for campers, where you can just take a sniper and not day even once. The single player campaign is a joke, you play it and you have no idea who the characters are and the levels are with pre-determent outcomes: on one match of Hardpoint Domination we totally destroyed the other team with 400 to 0 and we lost….WTF? I had the luck to play on the single player with a clan of ninjas and we finished both campaigns in less than 2 hours, it was in the likes of an hour and a half. With titles like CoD and Battlefield on the market I don’t understand how could you publish this kind of a game and expect it to be competitive to the big titles. There was even a rumor that Titanfall will replace Battlefield…..that is BS. May be it could have and advantage over CoD, but that is only if Respawn introduce something mindblowing with the Season Pass.
That was the bad, now there are good thing about the game. Most of the maps are very well designed with breath taking backgrounds, I especially liked the one with the giant 4 legged animal which is fired upon buy a big ass turret. They are giving you more options in means of movement and stalking your enemies but not be able to camp in the corner like a little b*tch. The difference between the individual kits can actually be felt and seen, they are not just window dressing. And for the people that complain from the smart pistol….why don’t you guys try not dying for a change, because I’ve been on both ends of that gun and any good player will tell you that it’s not that easy to play with it and that is easy to avoid it, but if you have a brain. My advice, play 2-3 hours with the smart gun, see how it works and you will be able to avoid been killed buy it.
I give this game a 6, because it’s not a total loss, it has it’s good parts, if you are enthusiastic and want to play it go ahead and buy it, but not from Origin, because it’s not a 60€ game. Go online and get it from an alternate online store, where it’s discounted to 30-35€ max because that is the actual price of the game.

So the imbalances will last until the losing players leave (which they will). Respawn is working on a fix. But it’s already too late. Anticheat was missing at launch, which is inexcusable. Titanfall is not a next gen game. It’s a decent shooter, not a ground breaker. And I’m tired of games having to be fixed weeks/months after launch. By the time Titanfall is patched up, I will have moved on to the next shooter. If you have $60 to spare, this is still a worthy title to own. But the lack of content leaves me scratching my head. Why can’t EA simply launch a game with everything intact? I think many players will leave before the Titanfall project matures. That’s understandable with a game that squandered so much potential. The following is my original review with a few tweaks.
Overall, Titanfall isn't a bad game. I'm impressed with its smooth launch. But Titanfall has several mech-sized flaws. Foremost, the game is huge at 50gb; and nearly 35gb's of that are just sound files. For all that heft, the visuals and sound don't really blow me away. The textures are bland and random pop ups plague the environments. In fact, the game looks merely average. Despite the average graphical fidelity, the game will require most machines to work extra hard to pump out max graphics. COD Ghosts is huge as well, and it doesn't look great either. I hate to say it, but Titanfall doesn't look like a next gen game. But it's certainly a resource hog. And considering many PC gamers will install it on expensive (and limited capacity) SSD drives, a 50gb game is nuts.
Next flaw: the game modes are little boring. The "campaign" is a series of team death match rounds with a half-baked, forgettable story. There are a handful of other game modes, but not the variety you'll see in Black Ops 2 or Insurgency. Respawn may add more game modes, but that's a big if. I think the developers where hoping that players would be blown away by giant mechs and parkour combat. It's fluid, but Crysis and Mirror's Edge still deliver the best parkour experiences to date.
The maps are large enough, but I'm surprised by the complete lack of destructibility. Giant mechs running around and they can't overturn a car or shipping crate. This absence is extremely disappointing for a next gen game. Environmental chaos would have given Titanfall a tremendous edge and probably allow it to put BF4 and Ghosts to rest. Without destructive power, the Titan's are nothing more than metal suits with big guns. And that absence is so obvious I'm left wondering why Respawn left it out. So what if a pilot can jump high? I would have more fun punching thru walls and kicking trucks on my opponents while trudging around in a Titan.
And obviously, the lack of skill based matchmaking and anticheat is a huge knock against Titanfall. Is this another example of EA pushing games out the door too soon? Or are the developers at Respawn that clueless?
So what's good about the game? It runs smooth. Titanfall easily puts BF4 and Ghosts to shame. BF4 is still buggy months after launch, whereas I put 10 hours on Titanfall with only one crash. Titanfall also offers in game voice chat. So players won’t have to find third party alternatives. Considering all the baddies running around, I'm hoping more players will use chat. The gunplay is tight. The hit detection is darn accurate too. In fact, it’s impressive. But weapon balance is merely OK. One hit melee kills, powerful shotguns, and auto lock pistols rankle nerves. Most players run with the same 3 guns. Much like COD. And the guns lack punch. Crysis 3 offered better weapon selection/upgrades that felt powerful. Finally, everyone gets a Titan! No building up a killstreak to drop a Titan. You get one simply by playing. This is a welcome divergence from COD's camp and build your killstreak formula. This should encourage players to move about more since death won't prevent them from hopping into their mechs.
Final verdict. The game delivers a bigger rush than COD or Battlefield. Titans and random AI controlled grunts running around really pump up the pace. Additionally, I think many gamers will agree that BF4 and COD Ghosts are disappointing. Titanfall changes the formula enough while delivering gameplay we’re all familiar with. I agree that the game is a too streamlined, but it’s certainly fun to play. Titanfall trims the fat off shooters, a risky move. But despite its high production values, Respawn didn't quite deliver the game we hoped it would. The graphics are surprisingly average. The gunplay is tight, but boring. And the static, indestructible, environments are hard to process when piloting a walking tank. On the upside, the game runs smoothly. It's a blast to play. Controls are fluid and the parkour elements are easy enough to master.

The only reason I declined to give this game a 10/10 would be the simple lack of content. After progressing 40 levels, I've found the same 15 maps and limited loadouts have begun to feel repetitive. I'm sure players out there have given up earlier, though many continue and prestige, so it's up to preference. Anyway, I think once DLC comes out, it should help. Titanfall has a lot of potential. It does well in most areas to treat the player to a balanced and fast paced experience, but I feel it doesn't quite reach the brilliance which people seem to praise.

Making players feel like they already know Titanfall as soon as they pick up the controller/mouse keyboard is good. Making players fell like they have accomplished things is also good.

Making players feel like they already know Titanfall as soon as they pick up the controller/mouse keyboard is good. Making players fell like they have accomplished things is also good. Making players feel like they are doing well in each game no matter what is even better. The Titanfall developers know what it takes to make a successful multiplayer shooter. AI controlled enemies on each team allow weaker players to still enjoy themselves as well as giving a faster pace to the game. Having these Titans and bots gives the game an interesting angle when it comes to completing objectives. It is fresh at first, but becomes stale early on. Wallrunning, Double Jumping etc also adds to the pace, and are a blast to use.

My main problem with Titanfall is the lack of customizability. The lack of weapons, equipment and attachments also seem to be forgiven because the game was apparently designed for the competitive scene. Less weapons = easier balancing. I don't really see this game taking over the competitive scene at all, seeing as it also has the bots running about. But really there is no excuse for no customizability to guns and such. Even CoD has been doing that for years, and they rarely put effort into anything.

In the end I feel Titanfall falls short of greatness because of it's lack of polish. It seems that the game is a demo of sorts, with a bunch of cool ideas moulded into a good time, but if given more time and love this could have been amazing. Here is hoping for Titanfall 2 to do it right huh?

Normally I don't like faster paced shooters, but this game was different to me. It was(at first) frustrating and unforgiving. I couldn't tell what was a bot and who could actually kill me. I didn't understand how to use the guns effectively or anything of that sort. To be honest, I was just about ready to put the game down and uninstall it out of frustration.

But first I decided to play the campaign. No, the campaign is not anything special, but I found it to be a good place to learn how to play. By the time I finished the campaign my frustrations were still there, but I was hooked and found myself doing really good. After passing the initial learning curve I began to notice differences between player and AI, fight multiple titans while on foot, and all that fun stuff that I saw players doing when I just started an wanted to flip a table because of it.
The idea behind the game was absolutely brilliant- pilot super soldiers who can call in heavy mechs fighting each other? Sign me up!
The execution was pretty good minus one issue- For a game literally built on multiplayer for $60 there is little to do. There is a handful of guns, mechs, and achievements to unlock. Doing all of that takes around 10 hours, and after that I was just playing just to make that poor new player's day miserable by smashing his face into the concrete a few dozen times. A game built on multiplayer needs something to progress towards that will take a long time if it plans to stay alive. This game is lacking that- and what worries me is that there is already talk of a sequel, meaning that there is not much intention to change that fact.
Regardless, there is a bit of a learning curve and a lack of content to unlock/progress towards, but I would take this over another AAA shooter almost any day. It is a good entry into the "next gen" and I hope to see it grow with time.

Visuals: The game is pretty but in such a fast paced game the visuals are pretty secondary unless you are only paying attention to the explosions and titans running around. It is nice to have some awesome scenery but with all of the action you're better off glancing at it only when coming from the dropship.

Sound: The game is pretty epic about this. Every weapon sounds amazing and hearing a titan's footsteps as it is drawing closer to you is pretty intense. Also hearing the footsteps of other pilots as they are chasing you or moving across the map is pretty epic.

Gameplay: The meat and bones of the game. I have to say the combat can become pretty intense. When you finally get to call out your titan and you're currently on another titan's back it can be a pretty gratifying feeling to call yours down on theirs and jump off at the same time. Having a 1v1 with another pilot can also be very scary as you both are jumping around trying not to get shot or coming up from behind for the execution animation. The fact that the game includes elements of parkour makes the game even better. It is quite enjoyable to wall run around and not spend 5 minutes just trying to catch up to your buddies.

As many have said about the matchmaking, it needs to be revamped but if you can look past it it's a very fun game.

I didn't think I'd like the game at first but after playing it for a few days now I've already regenerated and i'm still finding the fast paced combat quite enjoyable and have yet to not feel on edge when running around.

    -Good

Visually, and audibly, the game shines. there's so many sounds and vocal calls going on that are influenced by what's around you.The graphics are fantastic, and run extremely smooth in even the most congested of fighting spaces.

I enjoyed the intro/outro cinematics of the campaign greatly and wish they were just built into all the maps and gameplay modes. My only real gripe is the lack of more cinematics in the regular gameplay modes.

The Weapons are (for the most part) balanced with one or two exceptions.

Pilot loadouts allow you to change your gameplay style with many variations.

The titan's the aesthetic doesn't grab me strongly, but they feel real in that everything on them has an apparent reason for being there besides "Looking cool" Their animations make them feel heavy, yet fast and deadly when needed. The loadouts available for the various titans can drastically change the way you play.

The new game-play mechanic of the drop-ship escape when you lose is fun, and psychologically, doesn't make a complete beat-down feel that bad.

    -The Mediocre

The level design allows for all game-play modes to be played on every map, but you can tell that certain maps had certain gameplay modes in mind when they were designed making playing them in other modes “awkward”
The layouts of the indivdual maps have a great "Flow" to them to allow for multiple routes and circuits to and from specific areas and around the map, but there each map has an area which is "awkward" to get to and doesn't serve an intended role in any gameplay type.

The game feels like it was rushed out about 6 months too early and that large and grandiose elements of the original game design were cut for time constraints and console compromises.

GAME MODES are old and tired. I'd like to see different game modes that I haven't seen 20 years ago. Adding in an assault mode like Unreal Tournament 2004 or even looking at MMO's such as World of Warcraft, or even Defense of the Ancients/League of Legends shows many other gameplay types that would work extremely well in the FPS genre.

The generation/leveling up concept is okay, but there's no real benefit to hopping a generation except for reaching the next generation faster. I would have liked to see something in-game available exclusive to generations, such as more burn-card space or a specific ordinance unlocked. Oh, and the 50 goose kills for Generation 6 is god-aweful, but rumour has it they're going to nerf/change that requirement.

Only 1 rider/rodeo per titan makes sense from a gameplay standpoint, but it is difficult to tell when a friendly is rodeoing an enemy titan in the heat of battle.

Player/NPC names are occasionally not displayed, making for annoyance when you start shooting your own grunts/players by mistake.

    -The Bad

Matchmaking SUCKS. There have been countless times where I've sat in the lobby for 10 or 15 minutes and watch my side fill up, and the other side remain empty. Even back in 1999 FPS games got team based matchmaking right with quickly balanced teams, instead of the (very frequent) lopsided matches of 4v6 or (as my experience as an utter newb in the game) being a Generation 1, level 10 facing Genereation 3+ and nothing but level 40+ There needs to be a way to “bracket” matches based on level and/or generations. Take a look at how Guild Wars and World of Warcraft allow you to “shuffle” between game modes while waiting so that you can quickly get into an available game.

Wonky Titan physics/mechanics crop up at least once a game: There have been several times where I jump onto a titan to rodeo it from above and I fall through the model and it registers as being stepped on. dropping a titan right in front of me, or so I thought, and it turns out the game dropped it on the opposite side of the map, about 300m away. If you're riding/rodeoing a titan, and accidentally jump off and off a cliff (it happens occasionally), the pilot who damaged you last (even if it was minutes ago) gets credit for your death.

Getting on the jump ship is BUGGY. If you drop onto the jump ship from above you fall straight through to the ground. Also somewhat related, you cannot jump onto NPC planes that are zooming around maps despite the occasion where it looks to be in the perfect position to parkour off of.

    Misc

Map damage is something that feels like it should have been in the game, but probably cut to make it playable on consoles.

Overall, a great game, but still falling greatly short of it's potential and original grandiose concept.

You can tell the developers at Respawn put a lot of time and effort to create a well-balanced and fun shooter game for everyone. It's definitely become of the main games that I will be playing for the next few months. I mean the game really tries to make you feel good in every way possible. For people who are not too good at FPS, they can stack up XP points by killing AI-controlled soldiers and obtaining titans in that fashion. Basically, everyone has a fair chance of doing well in the game. There's really nothing that tips the scale one way or the other. They even allow you to escape the map on an evacuation ship if you are the losing team. In a way, if you (individually) do escape, you "win" as well. Anyways, it feels really great to jump on walls and buildings and get to the other side of the map in matter of seconds while destroying giant robots along the way with some easy AI kills.

Despite all the praise about the gameplay, I have to knock off a point for not having a great campaign mode or any sort of meaningful story line. All the components are there for a great story but they totally blew it on that part. I wish they had a single-player offline story mode that at least takes you through the story about why they are in a civil war and how titans were created to begin with. Other than that, it's a great multiplayer online FPS game with tremendous potential for the future. I see this game escalating into a franchise at the level of Halo and COD.

I play it on the PC and you will not have a hard time finding people for your match. I just played Capture the Flag mode all night and it was almost always 6 v 6 every game.

Titanfall is a derivative of COD, with a giant gimmick of mechs, which unsurprisingly is poorly implemented.

PC gamers have higher standards for their first person shooters.

Hawken is a better game than Titanfall.

I truly don't understand how so many people agree with the negative posts here. They all miss the point of Titanfall's creation in the first place. This game is fun, albeit repetitive, and it's innovative. What do you expect to innovate in an FPS? Magical death pony guns of zombie laser money cannons?

Titanfall's about as innovative as FPS games will get, and infinitely more fun than any CoD out there. I feel it defines the genre of FPS. While it is true that it doesn't have enough to be worth $60 contextually, it's worth it if you've been looking for a shooter that isn't either bad, or CoD. Or Battlefield, but don't get me started.
All in all, worthy game, extremely fun, and only going to get better as more stuff is added in (hopefully not in the season pass. That's the only major negative).
The worst part is: EVERYONE uses the same downright IDIOTIC argument: "zomg cod with mechs zomg time to go sacrifice me son to the gods of half life 2 now zomg", when that argument is wrong. Parkour fits into the game. Titans fit into the game. Does CoD have this? No. It has a terrible community, and that's all. Titanfall is unique. If anything, HAWKEN is CoD with mechs. It plays exactly like it, but you're in a box made from a kindergartener in a scrapyard. It isn't CoD with mechs. Stop being stubborn.
I find it hilarious how people continually downvote the positive threads, even if it's only a 5. Evidence, you ask? Almost EVERY rating between 3 and 0 has EXACTLY 7 opinions on it, and usually 6-7 people who agree with it. It seems like a community of basement trolls has gotten together to hate and rage. The hilarious part? Most of them have the telltale signs of a raging retard who was too bad at the game to enjoy it. A fairly obvious tone of extreme anger, PITIFUL grammar application, and extremely low credit for slight flaws. This website isn't the slightest bit creditable when you want a non-bias review. I'd rather read one from Ignorant than one of the "terminate-all-originality" idiots here. Anyways, Fanboy attack from Battlefield headquarters? Batten down the hatches, grab an Amped R-101C Carbine and let's HUNT SOME **** NUBS!

If you can’t expand your mind on how to play the game better there is no way you will like this game.

    ITS ALIVE!
    Cons:
    Content
    Graphics
    Normal Annoying FPS problems.
    Price

    PRICE!!!!!!

Now for the more in depth:
The game is so much fun with the wall runs and the jumps and the mantles etc etc, and that is very very smooth and it feels as normal as walking on the ground. The titans also feel very normal, its just as if youre on the ground, but instead of human size, youre giant. But where the game shines is in between these two. The balance between the two game play styles is so well thought out its damn near perfect. Any pilot can take on any titan, it may be dangerous, but its possible, and vice versa. If you want to just run on walls and play the game play CoD, well then do so! drop your titan in and make him follow and help you, or have him lock an area down! and speaking of titans, they are well made and balanced, with very few flaws about them, and the flaws are just annoying rather than gamebreaking. Now lets move on to the (kinda) cons.

Okay. So.. No singleplayer. Yeah, it sucks.. but honestly, if you bought this friggin game and thought there was single player then you deserved to lose your money, because Respawn said very clearly that there is no singleplayer. Now, that being said, its still unfortunate that its not included, but the multiplayer campaign really isnt that bad. Sure, its generic and not too creative, but in all honesty, isnt generic supposed to be good? Not to mention theres some REALLY cool parts of the game that are only shown in campaign. But alas, no campaign is still unfortunate, perhaps a DLC will include some kind of survival mode. Okay. Now to the graphics. Contrary to what people seem to say, the graphics are fine.. Are they next gen? No.. Are they "HOLY HELL THATS SO REAL"? No, theyre not. Theyre acceptable though, and theyre more than serviceable. Oh, make sure you actually go to the setting and change your texture quality, because im guessing half the people on here never did.
Okay, now the biggest problem of the game? The price. 60 bucks for a PC game? No. No PC game should ever be 60. At most it should be 50, and thats still too much. When you buy a digital copy of a game, you dont get a box, or anything that comes with it and that takes away from the price. This game might be worth 60 bucks, but it shouldnt be priced as so. Content does not affect gameplay, there are about 10 primary guns (or somewhere, i dont know for sure), and these guns are different enough to make you use each one, and never leave one behind and not use it. Its not that Titanfall doesnt have enough content, its that Call Of Duty has too much. How many times have you played CoD and only used a total of 8 different guns. Thats what i thought. Content is NOT a problem with Titanfall, and it should not be said that it is.

Oh, and while im thinking of it: people seem to complain about the bots. Well, imagine a 12v12 game of titans and then tell me that sounds fun, because it sounds awful. I think the Specters should do more damage, but hey, its not a big deal. The bots are fun, and they make the world feel alive. Its crazy to see a squad of grunts fall from the sky, and as they rush out of their pod, a giant pterodactyl monster flies down and takes one away.

    Conclusion:
The games worth 60 bucks, but shouldnt be priced as so, so wait for a sale or for it to drop to 40-50.
The game is intuitive, new, and smooth. The titan vs pilot is balanced, and its a seamless transition.
No singleplayer campaign, but honestly, if you didnt know there wasnt one, then why were you buying a game without looking at it first?
The online campaign is very generic, yet still fun and epic. I sometimes play it over classic modes simply because i like the story, however little of one there is.
Content is not a problem, guns are diverse, and you will use each one because you will need to.

Titanfall was great for the first few rounds, then it started to lose it's whole essence for parkour and high-speed action with the lack of those elements throughout the maps, and it started to feel annoyingly frustrating how there was no system for choosing which maps you wanted to play on whatsoever, and the in-game story didn't help ruining my experience either. Although it's optional to play the campaign, and optional to go through the in-game dialogue for this so called "story", it still feels irritating playing through the campaign missions, and just listening to the background noise the story really is. There is practically no story in the game, and the underdeveloped side characters that pop-up on the right-hand side of your screen seem to irritate even more and more the more often they speak. If the game wasn't put out as a "super high-speed fps", maybe I would even have time to listen to what they were saying, but it just helped to play some standard multiplayer without going through the campaign. The in-game menu for choosing loadouts felt weak, and lifeless, and was definitely the most bland out of all the shooters I've ever played. Without having the ability to name loadouts, without a real way to choose which stages you wanted to play on, and without having a proper set of game modes, the game made me feel that it was rushed, and was only put out earlier, not to keep fans waiting. All of that aside, Titanfall gave me freedom in it's category on a such a new level of gameplay, when I actually jumped into the action without any errors in the loading screen, or trouble getting to actually play, it was hard not to marvel how much of a technological advancement this game was, and how it tries and succeed to revolutionize the fps genre. The weapons are very balanced out, and I feel like the balancing between man and machinery was spot-on, and it was a masterpiece to play through. Overall, Titanfall surprised me in one sense, but left me hanging, begging for more in another, this is a fun, fast paced game, and definitely is will not be a waste of money... If you don't care about background noise, and a silly loadout screen anyway... Expand

There are 2 cool campaign Normany invasion style maps, other than that not much. After you finished campaign the only thing to do is play online and do the same thing over and over. There is some fun to be had. The action is fast paced, Titans bring a new element to the gameplay and Smart Pistol is an unique weapon that could be a lot of fun. But, honestly where is the rest of the game? Did EA really charge us 59.99 for this? I don't care if the DLCs coming up will make the game legendary. They lost their trust and reputation by holding back content so they can release it in a future DLC... that is the risk they take by doing that. The competitive feeling is absent because you are pretty much killing bots most of the time. Titan gameplay is pretty much shoot, kite and regen shield. The Titan upgrades that exist are not balanced at all. Some upgrades are useless while others are OP. Not even the main attraction; Titans, don't make it worth it. Little unlocks and it doesn't feel satisfying. The first thing I noticed about shooting a Titan is how unsatisfying it is. It's like they forgot the animations for taking direct damage. The only thing that signals damage is sparks and fire after a Titan loses x amount of health. Is this new gen or old gen?

I can't believe all these major reviews that gave this game such high marks. That's the only reason why I bought this game. I'm convinced a large percentage of those major reviewers are bribed by EA. There is nothing innovative about this game at all. It's a joke. Wall running is nothing new and it doesn't offer some new FPS mechanics... it's only used to get around places. Titans doesn't feel innovative as well. It basically feels like a BF4 tank that move faster, can punch and use other powers. I had more fun playing as a Mech in Natural Selection 2(which is an indie game that often goes on sale for $2 and is far and beyond better than Titanfall). This game doesn't change anything. It's just another over rated shooter that proclaims to be the next best thing. Unfortunately, you can see the greed of EA by the lack of content in this game. They want people to buy their season's pass. I learned my lesson, if it's by EA and offers a season's pass: DO NOT BUY IT.

It can be a fun game if you like fast paced action. The severe lack of content and unbalanced game play however, simply ruins the game for me. Not worth the full retail price. Wait for the game to go on sale or just don't buy it. I'm only giving this a 0 because there are way too many over rated reviews. I would have given it a 4. If you are put off with games that are repetitive and have no content than do not buy this.

Bottomline is game's not worth it. I know other successful games like TF2 you only kill stuff, but there is much more to do in TF2 and you don't get bored of it. The only thing you are doing in Titanfall is shoot stuff and call your lackluster titan. I regret buying this game. If I can stop even one person from buying this game then it makes writing this review worth it.

    Pros
    - Fast paced action
    - Smart Pistol
    - It does a good job of making every player feel like a badass because of the endless wave of bots

    Cons
    - Shocking lack of content
    - Graphics are nothing good
    - Sound is not memorable
    - Campaign is a pointless addition that tries to add something but fails horribly
    - No Story
    - No Single Player
    - Almost forces people to buy the season's pass because there is not enough content
    - Super repetitive
    - Matchmaking is awful(wait times are too long, unbalanced teams are common, can't switch sides, only 6 players per side)
    - Too much greed with EA

I hope that Titan fall season pass will give a player more than just maps because this game definitely wouldn't last on maps alone it needs to more burn card varieties, weapons etc because the repetitiveness already kicked in. The game pretty much is strictly multiplayer with a story line going on in the background if you play campaign to get the other titan chasis for customization. You cannot make private rooms either and there needs to be some more modes like maybe kill the captain or something like that to keep players interested its a great game but overall its not something that I think will last a person for more than a few days atm. Where BF is kinda stuck in a more hardcore, tactical, clunky and "realistic" approach, Titanfall is more focused on fun which I think is a good thing. Also unlocking everything via playing is doable unlike BF where you pretty much have to buy DLC to get all of the stuff. The sci-fi setting is nice. What I like less is that players can sometimes be very hard to shoot since they move extraordinarily fast which I think is annoying in an FPS. Also for example hardpoint capture mode is a bit counterintuitive since you can't capture most of the hardpoints while in a Titan. A real single player campaign would have been nice, but I don't regret my purchase. And I bought it at european pricing which is 55€, $76.

First let me state that the low user score for this game are related to ps4 fanboys and cod haters.

Titanfall is simply great however it is not revolutionary. It mixes the fast paced, low recoil gunplay of cod with parkour and mechs. It may seem like just cod with mechs but it is much more advanced than that.

Titanfall is a diffrent kind of fps. It feels sortof like a moba. There's early game, mid-game and late game. There are minions. There are diffrent lanes which have their own advantages. You have to kill minions and other players to shave your time off so you can get your titan early. Since titans can't jump you have to make use of diffrent pathways to your advantage.

So let me explain how titanfall works.
In early game you have to rush to the battlefield and kill the early wave of creeps so you can get your titan.
Once you get your titan the mid-game starts and you have to use your titan against other titans and players once a team bested another the end game starts. The losing team have to escape to the dropshop while the winning team has to hunt the players down.(you don't respawn in late game)

This structure makes it diffrent than any other fps because it changes as the game goes on. And knowing the maps can help you a lot.

Yes the maps... Titanfall has some of the best map design in recent memory. Maps are designed so that you have many parkour opportunities, Titans have diffrent paths which give them flanking opportunities. And there are some indoor sections for some cqc.

Let me talk about the titans, once your titan timer hits zero you can mark a location and your titan will drop in 5 seconds. It feels extremely smooth jumping to a titan. They have a very bulky feeling when it comes to movement. But they can dash to avoid incoming projectiles and other things. They are equipped with a primary weapon as well as an ordanence which is usually a missile. They have a shield as well as a health bar. The shield will absorb about 90% of the damage and will regenerate over time, the health bar will not regenerate. Once your health reaches zero, your titan will be "doomed". In which you have to eject.

Once you eject it will throw you up into the air. In which you can plan what you are going to do. One of the things you can do is to try and attemp to rodeo another titan. In which you will jump onto its right shoulder and you can shoot inside of it ignoring shields. The pilot inside can disembark and try to kill you manually or if he has it activate electric smoke. In which will kill you if you enter it.

Electric smoke is a tactical ability. Both titans and pilots have a tactical ability. Which they can use to their advantage. Pilots have things like cloak and titans have things like "bullet magnet that you can use to send bullet back to your enemy kinda thing (vortex shield)". It adds a little bit more strategy to the gameplay.

Let's talk about weapons. There aren't many weapons in titanfall however they all feel very diffrent and focused. Having small number of weapons which I use every once in a while is much better than a gazillion of recolored guns. But I would agree that there is a lack of unique weapons. There is only the smart pistol that is worth noting. Which was classified as a "newb" weapon at launch. Because it locked onto enemies and got headshots. It is practicly an aimbot. However it is a very fair aimbot. It is very useful for farming minions if you want to get your titan early. However it takes a little bit of time to lock and this time is much longer on pilots. And on pilots it's going to take multiple headshots. So if your enemy has noticed you you will die by their assault rifle or shotgun before you can even get a lock.

As everybody knows titanfall is 6v6. When annaunced everybody was like "lame". And said that it will be boring. This design choice is more of a "how cs is 5v5" kind of thing. The game and the maps are balanced for 6v6. The maps are bf4 kind of large but they don't feel empty. Because of minions there's plenty of things for you to shoot at. If you feel that you should fight with pilots and titans more than the maps will fall apart.
There will be too many titans so pilotss will be ineffective and there will be too many titans and the map will be just overfilled.

Many of you've heard that Titanfall will contain story elements in its multiplayer. The translation of that is you start being deployed from an airship, there's much more audial feedback and you have to escape in the end.
It's actually quite good as just being placed and seeing a countdown feels stupid and awkard.

    But then it falls apart...

Titanfall has a campaign mod which is simply classic multiplayer with burnt caramel chocolate on it. (word limit sorry). The performance is overally good. The game is about pace than performing the best. And curse metacritic for putting a 5000 character limit. I wrote this long to show you the game isn't just cod with guns and doesnt get boring after 5 hours.

This game could have easily went with Valve and adopted the ability for user-made content to be readily available but they didn't. They are likely instead going to charge you for all the maps they make despite there being thousands of free maps for every source engine game on the Steam workshop or FPSbananana.com.

Even the campaign offers you no break from the repetition of this game as it's simply a multiplayer match with a bit of scenic action.

To conclude, I'm quite sure you'll enjoy this game but you will grow bored of it and your playtime will not go far beyond 500 hours if you can even make it there.

For a lot of reasons most people on here that write reviews are nothing but bandwagon people, going onto someone's profile they gave every game in recent time a 0/10 on purpose with only a few words saying why it's bad
I normally would not believe any reviews that either have a 10-9 and a 2-0 mainly because the people that write them don't say anything really as to why it is bad. Some guy

Anyways back to the game. Titanfall is a great fun game. In recent memory I have not had soo much fun playing this game as I have with other games, the thrill of being able to run around the map with parkour/Spider-Man skills as well as having a personal jet pack to help you double jump around the place. Now firstly this game does have a single player but it is done through the multiplayer with it being a normal multiplayer match with a few voice overs here and there. No I'm gonna hear people say "omg no single player 0/10" or something along those lines. But in a matter of fact it's us gamers fault. Respawn entertainment did research and found less then 15% of people actually complete the single player in games like Cod and battlefield, so why waste the resources if not many people will play it. But no people don't go and do there research and then complain because of it being their fault. The single player has a few nice map selections but I finished it for the Mechs that you unlock.
However the multiplayer in this game is fantastic. It's easy to pick up but hard to master. Which is why so many people enjoy it.

The maps are about the size of a small battlefield map which is great and they are all bigger then any Cod map and they are all unique and different. Another good feature is the inclusion of zip lines. It is quite fun being able to have an almost whole map with nothing but those as you can literally keep on the zip line forever and it's not slow or anything, you can get off any time you want and even hook to another one Bioshock infinite style. The parkour is also great with you being able to go really high, but not as high as BF4, shame water is an instant kill for us pilots though

Now I could go on forever about what I like but I'll keep that for the pro section, there are a few negatives to this wonderful game though
One of them is the lack of game modes, there are about 5 game modes in total that while fun lack any real objective. An example is you have great modes like CTF and last Titan standing plus domination, but that is it, the other two are tdm. More objective modes are needed to make the game last longer,
My other damm is the monsters, while I know that they should not take the show of the game, some more interaction would be great, I hear that in the dlc they will have more fauna and flora which is great, as they have a map all about dragons but the dragons never attack you and another one has dinosaurs that never step on you.
That's it really for my negatives one point though is that the game is 50gb but not all of it is uncompressed audio, they found a way to make the game run well on low end systems and this is shown through the 50gb download
In conclusion I could go on forever about why this game is great and where it is not great, but as it stands it is very fun and I've had some of the most fun in this game then any other for quite some time
    Pros
    - Titans are fast and fluid and great fun
    - parkour and zip lines are ace
    - the maps are bigger then all Cod maps and all feel unique and different
    - all the titans feel different and unique
    - easy to pick up, hard to master
    - Grunts may be weak and stupid but are awesome
    - Game is just generally very fun
    Cons
    - single player is a little short
    - I wish for more monster interaction
    - hurry up private matches
    - lack of game modes
    - lack of content
    Score 8.5/10
    Playtime so far 8 hours

Will update review like most people don't with how the game is going

Quality game right here. Titan fall meshes the age old COD fast style of gameplay with twist of MechWarrior and a dash of Tribes.

If you're hoping for the next BF3 - THIS GAME DEFINITELY ISNT FOR YOU.

This game is fast passed close quarters combat, heavily driven by small teams stacked with AI assistance. You will occasionally get to call in a Titan (think COD killing spree here), those these Titans are not all powerful and with a little bit of coordination can be taking down quite easily.

Match making needs a little tweaking, as team stacking seems to be an issue. However with the simplicity of the game interface, joining another game is simple and fast.

So let's talk about Mechs. They're the star of the show and all of the media after all right? Perhaps not so much. The differentiation is very minor and a little disappointing. That said I've recently been playing Hawken whose business is Mechs so I may be holding the standards too high to Titanfall.

While Titanfall tries to do some interesting things with burn cards and parkour it falls flat when in sustained value. When you take into consideration this is hyped to be an AAA title worth the $60 it simply should have delivered more to the plate.

I really don't know why they wouldn't let you do that, same with the pilots too 6. Large lack of game modes, theres only Team deathmatch (A.K.A Attrition), hardpoint domination (just standard domination), last titan standing (not even fun), and the "Variety pack" all this does is just switch up the gamemodes...

Manly tears were shed when I experienced my first Titanfall.

The graphics are enough. Not amazing, not totally bad. People are spoiled these days and expect real life graphics in every game they lay their hands to. Technology is advancing, and some day photo realistic graphics are a standard and everyone can actually focus on the most important aspect: Game play. Which is amazing in Titanfall.

I really never felt like I was playing COD but I was in some futuristic world jumping 50 feet in the air doing all kinds of crazy fun stuff , like battle giant mechs and pulling off some crazy kill moves , like ripping some one out of there titan and tossing them away like trash..

That's not to say the game is perfect because its not. The story mode is a complete joke. For a Online only game I expected a bit more. Yeah 15 maps are great but that's right around the bare bones min when you consider this is a online game and should have had 20 or maybe even 25 when you are pricing this at $60. also game modes... it needs more of them. the ones it has are great and all but why not add a 16 vs 16 mode or a 32 vs 32 mode just for some crazy fun.

The amount of gear and wepons and skills you get are pretty good and they all feel like the belong in the game. Over it is fun but I would not say worth $60 as is. There is just not enough content in it to justify the $60 price tag. If it was say $30 or $40 I'd say sure get it.

I don't see my self playing this months from now but I do see myself enjoying it for the time I do play it before it gets old to me. Its not a game I see having a long lasting appeal for some people.

112 Minutes were spent playing (Which is merely fun-ish. By the way, the parkour isn't that useful- it requires your complete focus, and I always scored better when I just played like a normal FPS and mostly ignored the parkour aspects)

68 Minutes were spent WAITING to play. Over one hour of my time, that day, was spent WAITING. First, you WAIT for enough players, then you WAIT through a voice over explaining the mission, and then you WAIT (yes, even more waiting) through 30 second or so cut scenes that you watch over and over and over again. They stop being cool the third time you play the same map.

I could go on about the massive size (50GB), the ridiculous price point ($60-$80 USD), the poor optimization (34GB of uncompressed audio files, for example), the low quality graphics (10 year old engine), but as I said you can read a dozen of those here already.

Halo: CE was pretty great, but the sequels have about beaten the concept to death. Enter Titanfall, I love this damn game. I may get bored of it one day, but the base mechanics are brilliant. The shooting is great, the parkour style movement and freedom beats that of any other shooter I've played. Need I even mention the titans? They are great too. Going from a mobile pilot on foot to a rampaging titan is a seamless transition, it's a ton of fun to play either way. The weapons and titans are well balanced, despite what some of my friends think I didn't find any particular weapon or ability to be "over powered". Titanfall has a few issues but most of them will be easily remedied by DLC. The campaign is underwhelming, the only real reason to do it is to unlock the alternate titan chassis. It's just a series of Team Deathmatch and Hardpoint matches with some NPC chatter and a few gee whiz moments thrown in. The game modes are also a bit bare bones, you'll soon have played every game type and every map several times over. Additionally there is no private match capability, the only way to play with your friends in on the same team, but I've had plenty of fun playing this way. The base game is just so good my complaints are non-issues by comparison. This is a great FPS, I look forward to future DLC. Expand

Before I start this review, I admit I'm a big fan of the PS4, but it doesn't mean I will give this a bad review.

I played the Beta and ABSOLUTELY loved it, I'm just worried that EA will soon ruin the game through DLCs on Origin.
Overall, the game is amazing, but it lacks in a campaign and gameplay where you play for HOURS on end.
    I give this game a 6/10.

HONEST Review from an ACTUAL Player (and not a COD fanboy). Be CAREFUL of the MISLEADING Negative Reviews.

Titanfall has reminded me of what it's like to have fun while playing a multiplayer FPS. I forgot that there was more to competitive FPS games than just simply running around extra small maps shooting each other with twitch reflexes fueled by Energy Drinks. Titanfall not only tests your ability shoot things in a hurry but your ability to think and act quickly while giving the player almost total freedom of movement.

Once you play a few rounds, you'll understand that you’re never truly "screwed" in a bad situation. Utilizing your environments (and jump pack) is vital to survival.

Surrounded by enemy players? Use your jump pack to reach an open window or roof. Just encountered an enemy Titan while on foot? Jump onto him and shoot out his Titan brain or go invisible and run away. Need a lift to the nearest capture point? Hop on a friendly Titan and ride on his shoulder while he shields you from bullets. The possibilities are nearly endless. Me personally; the best thing about Titans...is not piloting them at all. I am serious! I love calling in my Titan at the right moment and putting him on autopilot. He can either guard a point or follow you around the map.

A common criticism with this game is the size of the matches. Currently you’re capped out at 6v6. In my humble opinion, that is a good thing!! Seriously! The rest of the teams are filled in with A.I. controlled grunts. The A.I. do a good job of filling the battle and making you feel like your part of a much larger conflict. Also, while we are on this subject of player size, lets just try to imagine what a 24-64 player match would look like...let me answer that for you...chaos. You have to remember that each player gets a titan every 2-3 minutes. If 64 players got their titan every 2-3 mins...well you get the picture. The game was crafted so that you have to use tactics and skills to survive in a match. On that note, the maps are really well laid out. There are an equal blend of open areas for your titans to walk around as well as nooks, crannies, and interiors for the pilots.

Now every game has its downsides and Titanfall is no exception. One criticism you will hear most often is the lack of content, specifically the lack of weapons, items and abilities. The weapons and abilities that are in the game are well crafted and feel unique but there just needs to be more of them. Another hot topic is the lack of single player campaign. Now, I get what Respawn was trying to do but they failed miserably. They were trying to fuse single player and multiplayer together into one seamless experience. But instead you get voice over dialogue playing overtop of explosions and gunfire within a match. It really feels tacked on and rushed.

Titanfall didn’t reinvent the FPS genre but it certainly feels fresh. The constant balancing of pilot and titan combat is where this game scores huge points. Every match I play brings me this excitement I haven’t felt for a long time. I just wish there was more content and lore to explore because it feels like I just got a really good appetizer but no main course.

I would give this game a 7.5 out of 10 but it gets a 9 to help level out those unwarranted 1’s and 2’s scored by people who obviously have not played the game.

This is an excellent that does change the rules of engagement in FPS. FOrghet about parkour and mechs, Titanfall is worth it's bucks and days of gaming just for the sheer intensity of the conflict and the way all the elements of the game have been equilibrated with a rare mastery.

It is true that the game takes up 50gb and that while being pretty enough it is not a visual miracle.

It's also true that the AI of the killable NPCs is terrible but this is on purpose so that they provide a function of being easily killable (giving much fewer points to the killer than killing another player or titan) and so that they populate the battlefield - this not only positively changes the feel of the game, it also makes the game available to new playstyles and makes it more accessible to new players who won't feel so left out, while not being able to make as many points as seasoned players.

There is an auto-aim pistol but it is more or less useless in fighting against other players and is primarily used against NPCs. This is a feasible tactic for any player but once again makes the game more fun for people who can't yet compete with the quick aim of a COD marksman.

The campaign is terrible and as far as I am concerned it is the only thing about the game that truly disappoints - every criticism written here I can happily agree with. Luckily the standard multiplayer modes are so much fun and the map count is large enough to make the campaign unnecessary. Given the amount of content I think that it's childish to be upset about the lack of a single-player campaign.

Apart from the multiplayer campaign the only other valid criticisms are with the inability to play private matches and as of yet no anti-cheat measures. Respawn promises to fix both soon.

The parkour movement and the addition of the titans make this game for me. It takes a while to get good at the parkour and it's hugely rewarding as you start flying around the battlefield, getting into advantageous positions against your opponents and running away from dangerous situations. Titans don't take a long time to learn well and provide a very different type of game from being on foot.

Overall I see how on first glance someone may be disappointed with this game, especially after being subjected to the extreme hype preceding its release, but giving the game an honest try (especially with friends), I truly don't understand how someone could give it a low score.

BAD: story is non-existent because it is so straight forward; losing a match in the campaign will not affect the storyline; scripted campaign missions where you can win but they say you lost even if you beat the other team; short campaign where both combined lasted me 3 1/2 hours; the campaign only uses two game modes; small variety of game modes where most of them are tacked on(like CTF); few guns available(10 for pilots and 6 for titans); smart pistol aims for you which means you don't require skill at the beginning of the game to rank up when you can just use it; no customization for your titan or pilot(this game was perfect for it); not a lot of content; this game was supposed to be a system seller for XBOX ONE but you can just get it for PC which is a lot better

FINAL VERDICT: this game is good at its core and fun now but not in a few months. Titanfall barely squeezes in a 6/10. I was looking for some innovation in the FPS genre but most of the game was tacked on for me. If interested in the game, wait for the price to drop to $30 which in my opinion was supposed to be the price for this game given the amount of content in the game.

Let me start by saying that this game is hard for me to review because it is a good and bad game at the same time. First off, this game is an absolute blast to play. It is quite addicting and far better than Call of Duty ( sorry CoD fans, but it is a different game). The gameplay is fast paced and the level design has you think way more than the other FPS (so much so that other FPS gamesLet me start by saying that this game is hard for me to review because it is a good and bad game at the same time. The bots serve a great purpose so that a gamer like me, who hates competitive multiplayer shooters, survives and feels more comfortable going up against many seasoned players in the genre. Then comes the bad.

When it comes to online gamers, you meet cheaters and right now there are plenty. There is also a lack of modes and customization, which is a minor grip that I'm sure they will add as time goes on, with lovely micro transactions (sarcasm added).
This next con is probably why you won't buy the game... you try to get on and the servers are down or you can't find a group to play with for 2-5 minutes because you have to play with someone because it's an online-only game. You can't even do training without being online. They could have made an offline Bot Mode to pass your time as they fix problems with servers or just to train and feel comfortable with the game in a simulated environment. I am not mad at there not being a single player campaign, but to create a single player experience that could quench the thirst of playing in short time situations of life. Like... when you are in a rush, but you want to play a quick game before you go or plain old pausing to go to the bathroom would be nice. I do feel that the game is over priced due to lack of modes, offline options and with no word as to if they will add these things I would say if you don't get it now, don't get it. I'm not sure how long the community will last and without any sort of single player experience, there would be no way to come back and get a taste of what you remembered.

In a gaming world that has become stale with games such as COD plaguing the market with fifth graders screaming in your ear various insults regarding your mother's weight, Titanfall breaks the pattern and gives us what we all truly want from a first person shooter multiplayer game: hours of challenging, satisfying destruction.

When I heard that Activision and EA were teaming up to make this game, I was concerned. All we needed was the combination of COD's lack of creativity with EA's history of terrible launches. Fortunately, this was not the case. Titanfall launched with almost no issues, and the gameplay is FANTASTIC. The feeling of hearing your titan break the speed of sound and impact the ground like a meteor gives me chills every time. It also doesn't try to hard to shove meaningless customization options down your throat. Instead, the creators and designers took the time in stead to focus on Titanfall's main achievement: gameplay. No one titan is better than another, all the guns are nicely balanced, and there aren't any perks that give any one high-ranked individual a ridiculous advantage over the rest. This keeps it challenging even when you get to the higher ranks and, in turn, increases its replay value. But perhaps my favorite part of this game is the innovation of the thruster-pack (or whatever you want to call it). The ability to hang off of walls, double jump across vast distances, and wall run whilst shooting a sentinel in the face is truly the aspect that gives this game originality. I found myself consistently amazed with some of the things I was able to do in this game that looked like they should be straight out of some futuristic Bourne movie. This game gives both expert and novice players the ability to have balanced, exhilarating fun.

Perhaps the only flaw in Titanfall is its story. It barely has one. The creators did incentivize the player to play through it so that one could unlock the Strider and Ogre titans, but if they hadn't, I would imagine barely anyone would ever even touch the campaign. It doesn't have a coherent and easy to follow story. You have to really pay attention to what's being said in the background in the loading screens between missions. And the missions themselves are merely conquest and attrition matches. It has no discernible difference from the multiplayer besides a few small points here or there. Really the only thing good it does for the game is give the multiplayer maps some backstory, but that's it. Fortunately, this flaw is not one that is crippling to the game itself. At least it didn't try too hard to make some powerful, emotional story and fail miserably (we're looking at you Battlefield). In the end, this hickup does very little to impact the game in any negative way.

    Summary:
    Pros:
    - Balanced weapons/perks/titans
    - Refreshing environment
    - Innovative gameplay

    Cons:
    - Forgettable campaign

The price like $60 is just way too much for a game like this, too little content and could've had a better storyline if this was $40 maybe it would have been better because to me this game is kinda not at Triple A standard yet.

Overall this game is amazing from the despicable Call of Duty franchise where is just sequel after sequel of the exact same gameplay and only slight changes but to me this game shows the creative idea of Respawn Entertainment but if only they could had have more weaponry and titans with a much better storyline.

If you don't read any further know this. This game is multiplayer only and I couldn't tell the maps apart. The gameplay was uninspired and not enjoyable. $59.99 used to buy you a full game, now you get a quickly thrown together joke of a multiplayer experience with a laughable "Campaign" mode thrown in to trick you and make you cry for more.

This is worse than when I was told that I would love Battlefront because there were Star Wars characters in it. Well those games sucked and just because there's robots and shooting doesn't mean this game was going to be good either, but I gave it a gamble anyway. Man I wish I was a console gamer and could take this back to GameStop for store credit.

This game is very fast paced and the fun is very limited to the times when you are enjoying your mechanical suit of armor and weapons. The trouble is, you only get to use the thing once or twice per match assuming you aren't killed on the way to your mech. You then spend the next three or four lives trying to make your way back across the enormous map to find your now half dead auto-fighting mech. If you do manage to get in your Titan the fun lasts at most a minute or two. Small enemies you can't see will destroy you while you work on the three or four guys from the other team who all got their's at the same time.

And don't get me started on the load times. Between the game cut scenes of Campaign to the load times and 90 second lobby wait you will spend most of your time waiting to play the game. Put on your patience cap and hope your "room mates" have good ping.

The leveling is worthless and the Burn cards are a joke. If I run faster it just means I get to die quicker. And even if the smart pistol is "smarter" it doesn't make it any more useful in a quick firefight with an actual human player. The Smart Pistol has got to be a joke by the game makers. It can kill instantly any grunt in the game. But any human with 2 feet can be impossible to lock on. And forget just shooting the thing like a gun, direct non-smart hits are like butterfly kisses. I get killed every time I round a corner and see another machine gun wielding player because no matter how many bullets I put into his head, it doesn't count if the little circle wasn't red.

Another side note. I have never once seen one of my grenades explode. I have thrown every grenade I have ever had in the game and never once did I see an explosion or kill or injure another person. I don't know what this can be attributed to but it was very disappointing. I was also unable to get the game to run at a decent framerate despite playing the game on an MSI GS70 Stealth on the lowest settings. At most the game pushed 25 FPS. The lag and jerkiness of the gameplay was at times unbearable, others acceptable, but never did it reach what I would call polished and playable. I intend on uninstalling this game after I finish writing this review. 49.99 GB is way too much space for this piece of garbage to eat up on my hard drive and I can't even get enjoyment out of my $59.99 purchase. It is a sad day.

This is the best FPS I have played in a while. There seems to be a lack of specialization that goes to differentiate players from each other.

In addition, matches have started feeling too scripted, if that makes sense? For me this realization has started to kill my prior hyper-enthusiasm, yet I'm determined to play the game until I figure this all out..

*apologizes if this somewhat depressing review didn't add much value.

Titanfall is Ok. Too bad the PC port has been put on the back burner to get the Xbox One version to shine brighter. Even on a decent PC, performance is not that great, getting lots of tearing with or without Vsync. I just hope the PC version gets patched with decent performance before the interest goes away. Graphics are ok, nothing really next-gen here.

Campaign mode is boring, story line in not interesting, just a run thru the maps with some guys talking in the background. Win or loose, the story follows thru no matter the outcome. Multiplayer with only 12 players... why only 12 players? Probably because having 32 players all spawning Titans at the same time would have made the game suck.

ok. So that the game doesn't feel so empty they added AI bots that respawn inifinite times. Saying AI is bad on these bots would be an insult to Bad AI, these guys are utterly useless. You can drop in a room with 4 of these bots, kill them all and not even get shot at once. They are that stupid. What make them annoying if that from a distance, you cannot know if it's a player or a grunt.

The game's mechanics are well balanced. running around is fast, and techniques like wall jumping is easy to do and becomes second nature after your 3rd match. weapons are fun, but a little limited. Titans are fun to play in, but if you've played any mech games, it's nothing new. The game does a good job to combine both worlds (Running around as a Pilot vs in a Titan), but I feel the maps are too small to really have fun with the mechs. Titan battles are usually short and done at melee distance, I would have loved to have maps the size of BF4 with destructible buildings so that using a Titan feels more powerful than it does now. Having a 25 feet high Titan stopped by a 3 foot high wooden box when is walks doesn't really feel powerful...

Overall a nice game, but I think it's been much too hyped compared to what it offers long term.

The second biggest downfall is it's own hype.Every man and his dog got super hyped for this game (even ea) and like most things it inst "The Best Game Ever" as the most of the press are making it out to be.

If this game was indie or it's wasn't hyped as much this would be getting a ten but because of the little amount of game modes and maps for a online game it's slightly disappointing.

    Still worth a play tho.

Titanfall is a reference to multiplayer games especially new generation, managing innovation in a style of play so saturated. Despite not having a single player mode, could well understand the plot behind the battle.

Titanfall isn't as revolutionary as the hype would make you believe. At its heart, it is a COD style shooter with the pace ramped up. There are elements incorporated into the gameplay that haven't been mixed together in the FPS genre before, but nothing that hasn't been seen in other first person games.

Now, I'm fine with a game being multiplayer only, but it needs to be one hell of a multiplayer experience, and Titanfall just doesn't have that. Essentially you are paying full price for a multiplayer game with only 4 game modes and 15 maps.

The interesting elements of Titanfall are the parkour-esc maneuvers you can do to get around the map, which brings to mind the very fluid movements you could achieve in "Mirror's Edge", and the ability to summon a mech to climb inside and blast your enemies with. Unfortunately those features just don't seem to fit together too smoothly, and makes the game feel more like a mish mash of games, rather than a whole new experience

There are no leaderboards, and the game doesn't keep track of your k/d ratio or any of your stats for even your own personal knowledge, so you never feel like you should keep playing to achieve something or get better. A multiplayer game really needs something like that, or else it feels shallow, and when all your game has is multiplayer the last thing you want is your game to feel shallow.

All in all, Titanfall isn't a bad game. If i saw it on sale for a good price then i would likely pick it up. At it's current price tag though it is definitely not worth it, and i am thankful for the Origin Great Game Guarantee so i could get my money back.

Lost the second :( This is where it got strange, the campaign mode continued and kept going when you win or loose??? I did both side as this is forced on you to get the additional Titans.

So after that out of the way I played the regular games online with friends and it's just as clean and smooth but it just repeats and repeats and is so fast you are unable to work as team, I cannot span or support my buddies and work together. Not long after I started to get bored.

The next day we played Last titan standing. This helped. It helped as we started in Titans and together so we could work together. But again several hours later I'm getting bored of the same thing and the same style of play. Now I am level 49 and have everything unlocked it seems pointless to me?

This is very sad, I was so looking forward to the game only to be bored so easy with eh same game play all the time and nothing different or better unlocks to change your game style.

I have to say I am disappointed and hope they add to the limited 5 game modes and 12 maps, maybe add to the hunt the 6 enemy on huge maps that can cloak to something better.

My advice, get it cheap to go on from time to time but don't expect the latest and greatest shooter, this isn't it.

I was waiting for a game that would blow me away and break the oligopoly of Battlefield and Call of Duty. Here it is. Titanfall shows that online shooting does not have to be confined to contemporary battlegrounds. [05/2014, p.42]

In the mind-boggling question that tortures world's biggest gaming studios (how to refresh the competitive FPS genre), Respawn answers by taking the Call of Duty core, enhancing it with elements from various sources and franchises (Mech games, Crysis , Tribes, Mirror's Edge etc.) and forging it in the Old School mold (Quake/Unreal Tournament) . Titanfall does not innovate. It manages, however, to leave a fresh taste by balancing nicely all components of its gameplay.

Titanfall is a highly entertaining online shooter, but it's a bit light on content for a full priced game. You quickly start to realize that Titanfall could desperately use more maps, more unlockables, more upgrades and more customization. [Apr 2014]
