This game is fun for a while, but then it gets boring and sometimes frustrating.
Too much of the same, it needs more variety and a single player mode.

Disappointing game, no campaign you cannot play the campaign mode if there is no other players. Which almost of the times there is nobody online. I got the game on origin for 2 days for free and I'm happy I never bought this, on PC the game looks and feels like some bad Xbox port. Nice concept but completely failed to intrigue me, the story is a mess.

Titanfall suffers from a number of issues, one of which is lack of content.

There are few weapons, few attachments, few gadgets, etc. Now, a limited number of weapons is not an issue if they require practice to improve your skill. Like Counter-Strike for example, where most players use a limited number of weapons that require practice to master. That's not the case in Titanfall.

There are few weapons, few attachments, few gadgets, etc. Now, a limited number of weapons is not an issue if they require practice to improve your skill.

Like Counter-Strike for example, where most players use a limited number of weapons that require practice to master.

That's not the case in Titanfall. The weapons of Titanfall do not require skill developed through repetition, they are laser weapons with fake recoil, the weapon kicks, but its effect on accuracy is non-existent.

The parkour gameplay mechanic is also simplistic and does not require even a tenth the skill required to move efficiently in a game such as Unreal or Quake, and any comparison to those old-school shooters is insulting.

But what vexes me the most is the terrible A.I. controlled grunts whose mere existence shatters the illusion of a battle between two human factions who posses fully developed brains by acting in the most robotic manner imaginable.

It's one thing for the ROBOTS to behave like robots, but to see the human grunts behave like that is pathetic.

Paper targets at the gun range put up more of a fight.

It's clear to me they were trying to develop a more casual and approachable shooter than even Call of Duty, and they succeeded by taking the Call of Duty formula and adding these simpleton A.I. opponents so that even your grandmother could get a few kills.

To summarize: Titanfall is a shallow, repetitive and dull barebones shooter from developers known for making shallow, repetitive and casual shooters, and will surely entertain casual gamers and those who aren't "hardcore" into first-person shooters.

    0/10, would not shootbang.

Couple months after release and they take away 2 classic modes like CTF and Pilot Hunt (basicly team deathmatch) from game ?

Something is seriously wrong with this game atm. Its still "fun", but its just PUG vs PUG all the time... and where are 2 more xpacs almost 6 months after release ? Good game but I find it loses it's replay value quite quickly. Upon getting close to Prestige 1 (or whatever they call it) I found my gun / mod selection bland and my titan selection severely lacking. Only 3 body types and zero suit customization, I just found the game to be quite repetitive. 80% of the levels themselves look the same, dark windows, dark paint, dark stairwells.

Gameplay is fantastic, I don't want this review to scare anyone away, the game really is fun I just personally don't find much replay value in it when games like COD and BF4 offer crazy amounts of customization and the like.

Another thing is the campaign that includes online people, I defiantly thought this would be a downfall and lead it to be less imersive. But its not, I mean the game inst really going to played with campaign in mind, but its still there and still fun.

People say that the graphics were not there but when you have everything maxed out, which inst that hard for a system to do, it looks like a great game. Plus your not even focusing on how good it looks when your having so much fun in online matches.

Just everything about this game is amazing, I like many other thought it would fall under another COD type of game play and the same old same old but seriously I was wrong there.

    Some downfalls (though not many)
-50 freaking GB download size... this was due to uncompressed audio which in some cases could be put under a positive because on weaker systems, not having to constantly uncompress audio could really give you more power.

-Load times are a bit of an issue, I mean you wait a bit to get into a lobby that is full of players, then you wait 80 seconds for the game to start, and then you wait another 30 seconds. but its just a minor thing.

Overall, this has probably got to be one of the best games I've purchased and would defiantly recommend it.

And for all the people saying "ermegawddd it's not worth $60 ITS OUTRAGEOUS blah blah blah" Id like to remind you that Fifa 15 is $70. I'm afraid my initial review must be changed to reflect the current realities of the game. Regeneration challenges aren't enough to keep players around. PC population fell off a cliff in the first month and never recovered. Matchmaking is STILL horrible. There's very little content for the asking price - even less now that there are modes removed from PC version that are still in Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions (Pilot Hunter, specifically). To address this, they'd like you to pay for more maps via DLC! The game is terribly optimized for PC with non-existent support (all Respawn support done through Twitter... what a laugh!). The final product ended up being a hot mess and that's truly a shame because this game seemed to have a lot of potential. Once the novelty of the Titans wears off, most people migrated back to COD for their twitch shooter needs, especially since COD caters to a wide range of players, not just those who want online multiplayer. Also, anyone who writes that the game has a "great story" is either trolling or a shill from EA or Respawn. The "campaign" mode in the game is a joke and the only way to find the backstory on the game is to read it from the Prima Guide! Seriously, the Prima Guide has almost 10 pages dedicated to the back story of the game world and the characters, most of which can't even be found on the official Titanfall site. Expand

The downfall of titanfall is the source engine it’s based on. While Valves engine has powered many a good game it simply feels old in the tooth most of the time you play this game. To add insult to injury is the major lack of customization and locking the entire customization till the player has advanced to a certain level. While it’s a fun game I feel like it’s a one trick pony and will quickly fall in popularity unless the customization issues are fixed. But knowing the source engine that is going to be allot of time and coding.

The game play itself is brilliant the two play styles either on foot as a pilot with parkour mechanics allowing you to get all over the map is one, the other is as the Titans. Both are very well done, they are very well balanced and both are always a threat to each other as the extremely well designed maps and excellent choice of equipment balance out the needs and uses of both. The controls for both are easy to learn and are very precise allowing for you to do what you need to do when you need to do it with no clunkiness at all.
The multiplayer campaign is simply there to tick a box and appease all the whiners who can't accept a game focussing on doing a few things really well, play this through so that you can unlock the other two titans and have all three available for the multiplayer matches-THE REASON THIS GAME EXISTS and the only reason you should buy it.
As of now there are Attrition, Last Titan standing and Hardpoint. All are 6V6, which was a non-issue for me prior to release and in the actual game is just fine and a complete non-issue there, this is not and was never meant to be Battlefield with mechs. You are an important part of your team and you need to pull your weight if you want your team to win.
Attrition is your standard DeathMatch and is the most fun, with unlimited respawns and no fixed location objectives you have the most freedom, figure out loadouts and playstyles that suit you. There is plenty of variety in this.
Last Titan standing is the most tense and thrilling, you start in a Titan and you have one life. So play smartly, conservatively and work with your team and cover each others backs to get the most out of this. In a 6V6 game you need to work togethor! Being outnumbered is a situation that can come up quickly if you don't and you will need to reset the balance to win.
Hardpoint can be brutal you will have to fight hard to take and hold the three points on the map and you will need to have a plan for your loadout and play style in order to do the best you can as you will be spread thin trying to take and hold the objectives.
There are many different ways of playing: want to be a sniper, head on infantryman, human Titan hunter or stealthy gunner? You can do it! Want to control a head-on tough, relentless damage dealing walking tank, good all rounder or fast and agile harasser as a Titan? You can do it! There are plenty of options allowing you to play how you want and they are all exceptionally well-balanced. You can even go nuclear! Creating a massive explosion right in the middle of a group of enemies, enjoy the view from way above the battlefield as you eject and fall back down on to the back of an enemy Titan and riddle its weak points with bullets!
GRAPHICS: There are better looking games, but Titanfall still looks very good and the detail is there. It has some good effects, a good amount of options and 4K support incoming. It does seem to be capped at 60FPS, but this has been great for me anyway, i have a GTX780 and i am not dissapointed at all.
CONTROLLER SUPPORT:The controller support for the Xbox 360 controller is perfect. It can be used to control the entire experience as soon as the game starts up and you can seamlessly switch between it and a M&KB. It is worth me noting that the accuracy is incredibly well calibrated and in my entire time playing i have only used the controller and have never felt at a disadvantage fighting against the M&KB players that make up the most of PC gamers. Unfortunately you cannot fully customise the controller layout (WHY IS THIS TOO MUCH FOR DEVELOPERS?), but the preset ones are very good and the bumper-jumper is perfect for me anyway. I would recommend it for this type of game
MAPS: There are 15 distinctively different, exceptionally well designed maps. This is the first game where i don't have a favourite map, i like all of them. I never have any concern over which random map the game loads up. They are all fun to play on and they all allow for that essential balance between Titans and Pilots.

    *Private servers are available
*There is a training mode to practice the mechanics and familiarize yourself with playing as both a Titan and On-foot Pilot, it won't take long. Also play through the campaign first as this will not be dominated by more experienced players, so you can get to grips with the game.

    A response to complaints:
    * "It's online only" DON'T BUY IT THEN!
    * "It has no single player, i want some single player!" DON'T BUY IT THEN! This was made very clear long before it was released, don't like it don't buy it!
    * "The A.I. sucks" They are there to be an easy target for newcomers so that they can get into the game and try there best to pull their weight in a small team. They are also there to add to the atmosphere of the battlefield, they are constantly dropping onto and spreading over the battlefield making you feel part of a much more epic conflict, especially when they complement you on how awesome Pilots are and how terrifying Titans can be.
*"It's a 50GB download!" This information was also available before it's release, yes it is annoying for those of us with more powerful machines,as the uncompressed audio is there for the sake of people with dual-core processors, but at least it lowers the minimum specs allowing for a bigger player base, which we all benefit from in a MULTIPLAYER ONLY game. As for those of you using SSD's it is not going to make much difference in a game like this, how long it takes to get into the game depends upon the servers not your storage. If i'm wrong explain and prove to me why and i will edit accordingly.
*"There's no destructible terrain!" This would break the balance between on-foot pilots and Titans, whilst the pilots can take the ideal equipment to take on Titans the environment is essential. A pilot in the open can easily be killed by a Titan and is forgoing there advantage of being able to access any part of the terrain. Maybe it will be effectively implemented in a sequel.

I absolutely love this game. I have BF4 and COD: Ghosts, but this game is nothing like those games, and personally I think TitanFall is even better than BF4. Let me state some reasons why I think this game is the best multiplayer FPS you can play right now.

-Graphics are refreshingly bright and slightly cartoonish, I personally LOVE the graphics on this game even though they aren't photo-realistic they are just eye pleasing. It doesn't look as realistic and isn't as complicated graphically as BF4, but I prefer TitanFalls graphics. It's also a SILKY smooth game when played at 60 or 120FPS, as you can tell the engine was made for the smoothest gameplay, unlike BF4 or even the new COD: Ghosts. It's refreshing to have a dev chose smoothness, reaction times, and bright colorful graphics, over photo-realistic lighting and textures.

-It takes you a good amount of time to die. Being that the devs of TitanFall used to be COD, I thought it would be more like COD in that you would die after only a couple shots to the chest. But that's not the case at all. You'll find that you can get away after being shot by jumping and wall-running away. And the gunplay feels incredibly smooth and satisfying, even more so than BF4 or COD. Although gunplay doesn't feel as real as BF4, I don't really care about real.

-If you SUCK at multiplayer FPS games, you actually have a chance to be pretty good at this game. This game has more strategy to it than BF4 or COD, and while playing in a Titan, you don't have to have twitch reactions. And even if you play as a Pilot, you can use the Auto-Pistol, which locks on after about 2 seconds. The pistol isn't nearly as effective as an assault rifle, but if you can't aim, this Auto-Pistol REALLY helps, especially if you jump and move around while it's locking on. Plus there's plenty of Bots to kill on the battlefield besides the real players, which can make below average players feel like they're dominating.

    Negatives

-The matches are a bit short. They seem to last only about 5 minutes per match. Normally by the second time I get my Titan the games already ending. Of course I'm speaking only of the Attrition mode as that's all I've played so far and I'm on level 32.

-Another negative is that battles are only 6v6, making it sometimes difficult to find enemy Pilots to kill. I don't get satisfaction from killing bots. I wish they had a 12v12 or at least 8v8 mode with no bots, and you only got your Titan once per match. I also wish they had a Team Death Match mode where the first team to 50 kills wins.

So overall this game is a 10/10. I don't see how someone can rate this game less than an 8 unless you just HATE FPS games. Because as far as FPS games go, this is the top of the line right now. BF4 is awesome, and has A LOT more guns and customization options, has bigger maps and more players on the maps, but TitanFall's gunplay is more fun and TitanFall takes a little bit more strategy other than just being quick with a mouse. And I like TitanFalls graphics better although BF4 is technically superior. COD: Ghosts just sucks all around.

Every patch Respawn has put out for the game has either failed to address issues present since the game launched or made the game operate worse than it did before. Loading times have significantly increased since the last 2 patches, matchmaking does a terrible job of matching up team of even close to equal skill, and it can take 10-20 minutes at times before the game will even find an opposing team for you to play against, or will just drop you into a game that is basically already lost, count the loss against you and then break up your new team again because you lost so badly.

The new DLC has also fractured the playerbase, making it even harder to find matches, uneven or at all, and Respawn has also removed easy access to CTF and Pilot Hunter game modes in what seems to be an attempt to drive players into playing the more popular modes to possibly help improve matchmaking, which it hasn't.

The game itself is good, but everything surrounding the game, as well as lack of communication and support from Respawn drag this game down to the point that I am concerned I bought a game that will soon die due to lack of effort to keep it alive on the PC by Respawn. At this point I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Awesome game. There is a lack of content and customisation. The whole package should not be sold at its current price but the game play is definitely new and refreshing. I believe there is potential for deeper tactics as there are so many more paths given the extra dimension that have not been discovered. Hopefully they release more in the upcoming DLCs.

It could be a little bit like Destiny, you have ur own Ship and ur own Soldier, which u can customize. And then, in the Bridge of the Ship u can choose ur Battlegrounds and start fighting to win the war for your fraction, but respawn thought: COD makes money so we just need a bad Menu, bad Servers and some crashes like BF4. It doesnt feel like the Developers love their game, it feels like a rushed game.

However, the abundance of 10/10 reviews are completely unwarranted -- And not to mention suspicious. Most of these posters have 1 review. one. For Titanfall... And many of them read suspiciously similar. But I digress.

    The bad:

The major detraction of this game is its complete lack of content and misleading advertisement of a (nearly non existent) "campaign" which amounts to little more than a voice over during the pre-drop portion of the map. Otherwise it is the exact same as the MP. A measly three titans with no aesthetic customization and bare bones weapon/perk customization leaves a lot to be desired. The vanilla map rotation gets real old real quick as there simply are just not enough maps. A grand total of three Titans makes you wonder what exactly they spent their time doing. Surely it was not refining the concept and story. Over priced DLC and a a season-pass plan that are down right unscrupulous considering how LITTLE this game came with considering its 60 dollar pricetag. But this is a matter of opinion, and for many, not really a negative aspect.

The titans themselves are okay. Although I'm not sure that the various classes of chassis (heavy, medium, light) actually have enough of a role to change their functionality. They basically all do the same things, have the same weapons, etc. Ultimately the differences come down to maneuverability and the differences in maneuverability between the three are negligible at best.

The grahpics, I personally feel, are just fine, however many have cited this as something they take issue with. I believe this mostly has to do with the "next gen" tagline. I'm not sure what people expected in terms of graphical fidelity, but this seems fine to me. Some of the textures are grainy up close, but whatever. I can live with that. The truth is, the graphics are about where I expected them to be for a "next gen" console -- As a PC gamer, perhaps it is more forgivable as I realize "nextgen console" is really a "last gen PC".

    The good:

The maps that are there are well designed for both pilots and titans, textures and graphics are decent (although many were disappointed when they heard that they were supposed to be "next gen" -- Unfortunately "next gen" consoles ultimately are the equivalent of "last gen" for PC's.)

The gun play handles similarly to any CoD title you've ever played, making it accessible and fun.

the "parkour" is great fun and adds another element to the typical shooter experience. Although perhaps not as innovative as Max Payne's "bullet time" system, it is, nonetheless, a nice change from your typical modern day / not so distant future shooter.

Ripping pilots out of their titan with your own to finish them, is, quite simply, totally awesome. Although I do wish there were more animations for different styles of finishing moves. I also quite enjoy ripping the arm off the enemy titan and beating him to "death" with. it.

Pretty nice game with some really interesting new ideas. I was a little bit let down at first by the fact that there was not really a single player campaign but I ended up liking the multiplayer campaign even better. Since the campaign missions are played with other players it is much more exciting and replayable.

Titanfall is great fun! But it is not value for money.

GREAT FUN - Gameplay is extremely FAST! The literal speed at which a player can travel is new to me in FPS. Wall running is a hoot! It opens up new gameplay strategies. Commanding a Titan is awesome and Titan skirmishes are extremely satisfying. I had to get used to the fact that the guns in this game have barely any recoil at all.

Its definitely worth a try for FPS lovers.

NOT VALUE FOR MONEY- The game is a multiplayer only game. So even if you want to practise match privately with bots, you can't do it. CSGO allows it at its cheap price but Titanfall doesn't. You cant practise on maps! How screwed up is that! Also for a game that is looking to redefine online play, it does not have any of the features one would expect from it. I should be able to watch a replay for the match. But no feature exists. I should be able to save matches, watch my friends matches, just like in Dota. Because quite frankly they charge me $59.99. Even in India where games are out cheaper. So where are the missing features? Buy them off Titanfall 2? I also wanted a few HUGE maps. And a few modes where there are 10 v 10 or 15 v 15 battles on a larger scale to feel the madness of war. Instead I have to pay for every 3 map pack they release.

This game is definitely lots of fun. But does make me feel that Respawn has short changed me by just giving me half my money's worth.

    PROS
    - It's fun.
    - Even if you're not great at shooters, you can contribute to your team by capturing flags like in conquest or domination modes of other games and there are also a lot of AI units running around that give you points for kills. Just a couple of example of how you can feel a bit of accomplishment even when not killing the opposing team's human players.

    - The unlock progression is decent. The different weapon types provide enough variety within the context of the game. Matchmaking becomes better the longer you play during a particular session. I find most rounds to be lopsided when I first hop into the game and they begin to even out the more rounds I play. The matchmaking is decent.

    - Only experienced lag a couple of times.

    - The sound is great, but I'm not sure about the surround positioning. Seems built for stereo at this point with few audio option settings.

    - The graphics are crisp.

    - The maps are great.

    CONS
    - Some of the time I don't feel like many people are even playing this on PC as it can take 5 minutes+ for you to get placed on a team and them another 5+ for the server to match your team up with an opposing team.
    - Too much time between rounds. In addition to sometimes waiting for a matchup, there's 90 seconds of countdown to the 60 seconds of loading the map and the added 10-second countdown to the drop ship sequence (10 more seconds?). This is even with both teams populated.
    - Some of the time I feel like hardly anyone is playing this game on PC as it will sometimes take a looooong time to get a team matchup. If you play 'Attrition' mode (like deathmatch), this is not an issue. If you play campaign or other multi-player modes, you can expect to wait for a matchup.
    - The graphics are a little cartoony/painted similar to CoD Ghosts on a console.

Honestly, at first I thought it sucked, but the more I play it, the more addictive it has become. I like it!

I couldn't even play the game without crashing as much as 80 % of the time I played it. now I only crash like 15-20% of the time I play it now. maybe less. still consistent. But that is just a part of the heap of problems this game has. What's more it has ridicilous load times, which was recently even furthered by some patch meant to fix something else. Maybe it has to do with the ridicilous 50 gigabyte folder that you will have on your computer when installing this. maybe that's why it takes so long to load the right files. 50. gigabyte. Whereas 35 gigabyte (!) is uncompressed soundfiles, which of half is likely nonsense dialogue that nobody gives a damn about. The best game sound I've heard comes from the battlefield series, I dare say bad company 2 had the best sound in the series. and that was four years ago, and it still trumps this uncompressed sound. And that game is 8 gigabytes large. I can't say I've had much technical difficulties when I finally get into the game (besides crashing of course), so that's all good.

And then there's the gameplay aspect, ah yes. My first complaint would be the absolutely horrid matchmaking system. If you've ... say played a halo game online, you will know how this works pretty much (except some crucial differences I'll get to later). The likeness is in that when you lose a game, you will have to quit, because otherwise you will still get pit against the winning team of the last round, which consistently consists of much much much higher ranked people. people who have gotten as far as generation 3+ and beyond. So it's not much use staying there. And there the load times come in again. because you have to login to the main multiplayer menu for some reason, which would take 15 seconds or something. What is good, however is the gameplay, which gives you a regular shooter experience and also the opportunity to pilot a mech. All of this works well and is pretty well balanced. Except maybe that... if you use a gun without silencer you show up as a big dot on your enemies minimap. which kind of sucks, cause then you're likely gonna die. it even shows what height you are standing for your enemy. The guns feels more killzone than CoD strangely enough. Oh and the story is really uninspiring. Maybe this is worth it on a console, because it's not as poorly optimized there (I would not know).

Some issues with optimization whereas a computer that can run BF4 on high can't run this on high But with a $1500 like mine I don't really have issues.(would hope not)

    Gameplay: 8
It is essentially everything you have seen before with some extra seasoning. I genuinely love how vast paced it can get sometimes, especially with stim and capture the flag. And the titans add a whole new depth to the gameplay. Hearing your titan roaring down from the sky is both gratifying, and just plain cool. It makes being out in the open as a pilot terrifying. It's also awesome watching the little npcs have their squads massacred and see one pulling another to safety. (hehehehehe~)

Very solid sound design in my opinion. The gun sounds feel satisfying(especially while in the titan) And everything feels consistent. No sound feels out of place and creates a very intense battlefield.

I would recommend it to anyone I know, but if you are low on budget I might suggest another title over paying full price for this one. But if it is on sale, You should really give it a try.

The game is beautiful and the mechanics are brilliant to say the least. But the online only play with a lackluster campaign for the whoping 60 dollars is abit to much for rather repetetive gameplay.

The multiplayer campaign in itself is a good idea with a broken execution, as the matchs results don't change the ending in any way. Also, the maps in the campaigns are not different from the standard multiplayer match, except for a voiceover.

The main issues ? after 8 hours of playing, you can have tested everything. Even Call Of Duty has more content. The graphics are also under waht you would expect from a so much recent game.

Overall, this game is a good alternative to CoD, but it is overrated.

Next off, the mechanics. Wall-running, double-jumping, titan-riding and Spectre-hacking all put their own spins on the gameplay and make it differentiate from the common "CoD with mechs" stereotype of onlookers.

Balance. Whether you are in a Titan or running as a Pilot, you stand an equal chance in battle. Everything balances each other out so you don't feel like there's cheap deaths. Subtle, but fantastic.

Now, the cons. Honestly, I only have a few.

The price. While I got this game 20% off in an Origin Spring Sale, I still think $60 is a bit steep. Go deal-hunting for Titanfall instead of paying full price.

Two minor things: I wish there was the ability to vote on maps and rename custom Titan and Pilot loadouts. One of the biggest gripes I see has been resolved: there's private matches now!

Titanfall is great. Each time you play, you're presented with fresh and diverse challenges and you'll have an awesome story to tell from each and every match. Pick it up, and enjoy.

Unlike most games, Titanfall doesn't have a single player story mode, it has a "multiplayer campaign" mode. But this MP campaign does a horrible job of telling the player a story. The way the story is told is through dialogue sequences that pop up while you're playing, similar to Borderlands 2. However, it's harder to comprehend what the forgettable characters are talking about since the game is fast paced, and there are explosions, titans dropping, A.I. bots fighting, and enemy pilots all around you. So you'll be more focused on trying to stay alive rather than listening to the dialogue (I recommend turning subtitles on to help understand the dialogue). This "campaign" had 1 job: to give us context to what we were doing. What planet and what solar system are we in? Why are the Militia and the I.M.C. fighting? Where did the titans come from? These are some of the many questions that the campaign never answers (you'll probably have to check the wiki for the answers). Besides a small cutscene that plays at the start of each of the 9 missions, there's no difference between the MP campaign and the classic multiplayer. Also, completing all 9 missions should take you 70 minutes, but to unlock the other 2 titans, you'll have to beat the campaign on BOTH sides. To make matters worse, I had to restart a few of the missions because some of the players in my lobby would back out. This "story" mode is tacked on trash. 1/10

    Gameplay/Multiplayer:
Titanfall took things from multiple shooters and added some new things as well. The shooting and melee system is exactly like Call of Duty's, the parkour/free-running is similar to brink, and the movement is similar to Quake. The biggest thing that Respawn added is the addition of titans (mechs) fighting alongside infantry. Titan gameplay is similar to some of the other mech shooters out there with some cool abilities (a sheld that picks up projectiles and hurls them back at enemies, rocket pods, and electric smoke are some examples). The level design and the spawns are the game's highest points. There are 15 maps available on the base game, and all of them are well designed to cater to both pilot and titan gameplay. The spawns are also excellent, I played 12 hours of the multiplayer, and I didn't get spawn killed once. Another big new feature is the controversial A.I. bots. Even though the grunts and specters are extremely dumb, it doesn't hurt the game because the A.I's purpose isn't to be challenging and threatening, they're only there to increase the grand scale of the match (make it feel like Battlefield 4's 64 player matches), and to guide players to where the action is happening. Plus if you pay attention to the small dialogue the grunts say to each other, you'll know that they act dumb because they're suppose to make the players (pilots) feel like superior super soldiers (also explains why they can't use any abilities and why they move slow). So essentially, Grunts=Humans, Specters=Machines (that are suppose to take over infantry soldiers in the future), and Pilots (Players)=Spartans (Master Chief). So the bots aren't a bad thing to me. However, the biggest problem in the multiplayer is the lack of content available. As a pilot, you only get 10 weapons, 3 abilities, 12 perks, 3 sidearms, 4 anti-titan weapons, and 4 equipment. As a Titan, you get 3 titan choices, 6 weapons, 3 abilities, 4 rocket types, and 10 perks. There're also not many attachments you can put on either pilot or titan weapons. There's also no camos, character customization, or titan customization (only customization option outside of classes is gender). What's even pathetic is that you can't even name a loadout. Another problem with the game are the 90 SECOND PLUS LOAD TIMES which you'll be seeing a lot of. Balance is good (with the exception of the EVA-8 Shotgun. The smart pistol is weak against pilots), and burn cards (1 life abilities that boost your performance in-game) add some variety to your gameplay. Overall, the gameplay is good, but is lacking content. 7/10

    Graphics:
The game is colorful, but is running on a last gen engine. So that means the textures are weak. Honestly, these graphics remind me of Black Ops 2. 6/10

    Sound:
All the in-game battle sounds (gun shots, radio chatter, footsteps, titan sounds, etc.) are really good (even if they sound arcade-y). The only weak thing about the sound is the score. The score is extremely forgettable. Other than that, the sound here is great. 8/10

    Verdict:
Titanfall is good, but EXTREMELY over-hyped. There's barely a story here, the Multiplayer lacks customization, the load times are aggravatingly slow, the graphics are last gen, and the score is barely noticeably. As much as the multiplayer is fun (and better than the last 3 Call of Duties), This game is not worth buying a $500 XBox One just to play. On PC, I recommend a price drop before purchasing. Keep in mind the game takes up almost 48 GIGS of space, and most of that is audio files. 7/10

I really enjoy that aspect.

Now this game isn't perfect. The campaign is a multiplayer campaign, and it's fun. But the story is pretty much non-existent, and there isn't a single player campaign. I think it would be cool if they had single player campaign, then a multiplayer campaign. The current campaign by itself is very short, and I think it was a missed opportunity.

Also the last flaw is I think there should be more weapons for your solider. The amount of weapons and customization is underwhelming. Also the NPCs, while cool to have you in battle, are basically walking targets. They aren't too smart or difficult, but they are good for target practice or getting a few kills.

So if you find this game on sale for $40 or less, then I recommend you check it out if you enjoy FPS games. You will find the gameplay very satisfying, sound effects are good, and fighting mechs on foot or in one is really fun. That said, the game isn't worth $60 for what it has. It's worth $30 in my view, but for $40 I think you'll still get your money's worth.

The storyline has been done so many times (examples: Borderlands 2, the movie: Elysium) and if that wasn't bad enough, it only takes you through 2 different game modes. Secondly: the content. I understand if they were trying to make a mainly multiplayer FPS, but the amount of content included is just sad. There are 15 maps, 5 game modes, and only 50 levels to go through. There is, however, a prestige system, which allows you (once you've reached lvl 50) to restart. This does absolutely nothing for you, except you level up faster this time around, and you get a lame little USB looking thing next to your name with the amount of times you've prestiged on it. All and all, Titanfall is an amazing concept. Its just short on content. Expand

The graphics are not even last gen, they are 2004/05 at best. The gameplay feels clunky and the so called campaign is a joke. The AI is the worst I have experienced in many years. The only redeeming qualities of this game is the actual Titan concept. This has clearly been a copy and paste job like a sandwich with multiple spreads ripping ideas from Battlefield 2142 and shoving them into a Call of Duty universe / gameplay style. I can only give it a 3.00. Mainstream reviewers should be ashamed of themselves for praising this farce.

Titanfall is a fast paced, exhilarating and enjoyable multiplayer experience that takes classic hallmarks of the genre and brings them into a new and exciting modern day title that excels in several key areas. With Call of Duty becoming increasingly stale and Battlefield struggling with persistent issues; this game is a great alternative in a very competitive sector.

Firstly, the engine and controls are absolutely magnificent. These allow for frantic and fast paced gameplay, the likes we all saw and loved in Unreal Tournament and Quake. Anything and everything on the fantastic and varied maps can be scaled in seconds. You can wall run, jump from pillar to post and land on your feet without fall damage. It's incredible fun darting round and matches are often extremely fast and furious. Camping is almost non-existent in this game and if you see someone lurking around a rooftop, they can be got at in seconds with the flawless and fluid controls and map design. The guns and bullet detection is also of an amazing standard. The infrastructure of the menus and general presentation is easy to navigate and mimics that of COD which may seem a negative but it's actually beautifully put together and designed.

The typical modes that you expect are all there from Attrition (TDM) to Hardpoint Domination (DOM) and CTF. There is also Last Titan Standing along with Pilot Hunter which is titans v titans and a TDM variant that focuses on PVP point scoring. The playlist may seem small but the key gametypes matter more than 'novelty' modes which has plagued COD.

Titans are the main part of this game and although I prefer the pilot gameplay; these don't disappoint. The mech aspect is enormously enjoyable and brutal to other players on the ground. The controls are easy and the weapons are spectacular. This adds a new dimension to the game and against other titans; it also adds to the battle on a substantial level.

There are a few negatives with this product though and my biggest concern is the player count. 6v6+bots is a problem. I can see why the count has been reduced to incorporate the titans but this has a hugely negative impact the pilot gameplay overall. The bots offer nothing in combat and are just like recruit bots on COD. The gameplay becomes somewhat discredited. It ups the ante when titans are spawned but it's far too sparse at times with just foot pilots. Large kill totals with other players is a rare and at times frustrating occurrence. Shooting bots isn't very satisfying either. The campaign is also a total disaster. It's played in the multiplayer experience with fellow players in matches at the same point as you. The story played across both sides is extremely hard to follow and very weak indeed. A completely pointless addition for a MP game only.

The game also feels very bare at times with a distinct lack of guns, unlocks and depth. The price is very steep although the season pass is very respectable.

Overall, Titanfall is a great game but is let down in a few areas that matter. It's huge fun with some stunning design and production standards but this doesn't quite have the depth and staying power that games like these in the genre require. I'd happily give this a 9 for now but I fear this could go down in a few months as keeping me engaged in this product may prove tricky in the long run with its lack of features and limited lobbies. Time will tell but credit due to Respawn for now at least. A great alternative .

The game runs on an outdated source engine, it looks last-gen on PC. But at least it looks better than XBONE because it only runs on a native resolution of 792p. This game is suppose to be "next-gen" but it can't even hit a 1080p native resolution. It also lacks a lot of basic features when compared to generic military shooters. It's only 6v6 but that's arguably the right amount, shooting bots is tedious because the AI is stupid and the "campaign" is BAD. I know the multiplayer campaign isn't suppose to be the highlight of the game but if it's there, it should still be critiqued.

It's barely even a campaign (not a single character development), it's poorly executed and it's just a mere intro to the game. You'd seen the whole campaign in the beta already, it's just 9 missions that you have to play twice and you can complete it within 2-3 hours. If Respawn promises us a campaign but they're just being lazy with it, they shouldn't have even bothered because then there would be less complaints. It would be much better if they had a separate offline campaign like they do in CoD, Halo and BF as the XBONE is clearly not ready for "always-online".

This game doesn't just borrow from FPS games but it borrows elements of DOTA 2. There are only 6 multiplayer modes and no private matches. The only way you can have a private match (so far) is to boot the guys you don't want in your lobby (which is annoying). I can't believe they shipped this game with only a few multiplayer modes and they had the balls (and got away with it to) to sell it at full price despite the lack of community features. Sure, you can patch more modes and better native resolution but this review (despite being late) is my initial reaction of the game at launch. The fact that you can make a game better through patches and updates (as well as price drop) can be said about every game. It lacks every fundamental features, even customization and an anti-cheat system.

I've ranted about the negatives for too long. This game immediately feels fresh as soon as you start playing despite having a CoD feel to it but with parkour and mechs. The Titans and weapons are perfectly balanced and thanks to the smart pistol, newcomers can enjoy the game at ease. The Smart Pistol is essentially an aimbot but it takes a while to lock-on which can make a difference between life and death if you're up against advanced players who can instantly kill you with a shotgun. It is annoying getting killed by someone with no skills but the Smart Pistol isn't as OP as you think.

Overall, if you love fast-paced futuristic shooters with parkour and mechs (which seems to have a mass market appeal), it's an easy buy. For others, you might want to wait for a price drop. It's very disappoint for a "next-gen" title, it essentially feels like another CoD and I got bored of this game (got a refund) after about a week. Titanfall is a fresh title for the over-saturated FPS genre but it's not the definitive "next-gen" title it claims to be and, in my opinion, it's overpriced for it's value. Kudos for surpassing both BF4 and Ghost.

But to what price? Remember the annoying bunny hopping in COD (all versions)? It has been sadly elevated to a feature. When facing real players it turns into a jump-fest.

It seems that many cheats used in FPS are elevated to 'features' - some temporary, some permanent: invisibility, constant jet-jumps from real players, x-ray vision etc. Everything I hated in CoD is in Titanfall!!!

This restricts the appeal of the game to a certain population. It is aimed mainly at pre-18yo teenagers. despite the 18 certificate.

The hit boxes are weird - too big for AI enemies and seem too small for real players. It is difficult to say whether your shot hits the enemy or not. It is strangely unsatisfying to get a kill. AI is silly - most of the time, in close combat, I just kick them - no waste of ammo.

For now, it is difficult to figure out who is enemy and who is friendly. In the heat of play is difficult to spot the name tags. The uniforms are too much alike!!!

Maps and gameplay are interesting, but 6v6 MP, matchmaking system and weird hit boxes lets the game down. Matchmaking means that sometimes you just wait and wait for a game to get set up. Loading times are veeeeryyyyyy loooooong!

This game would be great with dedicated servers and full customization of gameplay. I would love to play on a server where we could disable certain features! But that's not going to happen, sadly! The new private match features may help here, but being ...err private, makes it kind of useless. Nothing can replace public servers!

A huge download for the PC - almost 50GB. Really?!!! For what? The uncompressed sound files. Which are then used to generate chatter on the radio. Huge price for an attempt at immersion. It works for the first day or so, then it becomes tedious! Same repetitive drivel that doesn't help in the gameplay - there is no story line!

Worth £60 for the game+season pass? No! Get it on sale, get it on sale, get it on sale!!! There is no guarantee people will buy the add-ons. After all, EA or Respawn could always kill the servers at some point. They have done it before.

A 2 for the innovation in gameplay.

Respawn, for PC, please bring public servers to Titanfall, otherwise the interest will fade soon. For some it is already gone!

    The Bad.
Mainly there is almost no content. The game has no more value than a mod to COD.

The so called campaign... I admire the idea of multiplayer campaign but the execution here is lacking. Its basically the same exact game modes as in "classic" multiplayer but with an annoying soundtrack blasting the whole time. If you try to do well you will not pay any attention to the soundtrack, if you want to know whats going on then just stop playing and listen. It also doesn't matter what you do you automatically move to the next map so there is no winning/losing. Feels very last moment slapped together. Overall the campaign is not engaging in the least.

the "classic" multi-player game with 15 maps and 6 games modes. The maps are mostly similar and the modes have very little differences as well. Just the way you score points varies. The maps are tiny! Why give me a massive robot and confine it into a small box? Its like a GTA game with 2 roads.
The play dynamics are also strange, pilots die extremely easily so its realistic but very unbalanced with the titans.
The titans not only have massive HP and a million ways to kill a tiny pilot but also move way faster than the pilots. So the game forces you into a titan whether you like it or not. "Everyone will get a titan and like it!". Also titans somehow can step on you with thier midsection... I am still confused about that.

The matchmaking is some of the worst i have ever seen. Long waits to find anyone to play with, then a long wait 120sec for the game to start. Then at the end of the match a long wait for everyone to run to a ship. In other words expect to spend half the time waiting and the other half being smushed by a titan.

The worst are the menus. To start or to quit the game you have to go through a long onslaught of slow menus that say "connecting". There should be no wait until I get to the matchmaking itself. There isnt even an alt-f4 option to quit. Had to bind a taskkill script to a macro on my keyboard.

    * inability to really play with your friend. There are no clear indications of where your friends are (they've patched it to make your friends show up in a different color -- but that doesn't help). You should either be able to spawn near your friend or have a bigger indicator in the 3D map that shows your friends.

The graphics are average at best. By today's standards, it's clear that this is a rehash of the COD engine. The graphics, interface and multiplayer components look and feel like COD. In comparison to other shooters on the market, Titanfall seriously lacks content; weapons, upgrades, maps, etc...
Net code is buggy and you constantly have problems getting and maintaining a connection to Origin, which disconnects you from an actual game. The biggest negative in this game is the lack of actual human players in MULTIPLAYER. Multiplayer is half stuffed with retarded bots that add nothing meaningful to the game. Clearly they made this decision to work within dire limitations in the engine (and their scheduled ship dates). To NOT have a single player, then to put bots in multiplayer is a conjob on a grand scale.

If you are new to shooters, you will find this game fun for a few hours, but if you are an experienced shooter, this game will have you feeling played/hustled. One of the wort shooters I've every purchased.

I've been playing the game on the PC for about 20 or so hours so far without any major problems or quirks. The gun play feels great and is extremely responsive, while also having a lot of variety in the types of weapons. You have the normal assortment of assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, DMRs, Sniper Rifles and the really cool S.M.A.R.T Pistol that locks onto enemies and guides the rounds into their targets. The Titan gameplay also feels really refined and this is where the game shines. The mix between Pilots and Titans during battles, even with the lower 6 v 6 player count, makes for some epic moments as you bail out of your doomed Titan while being fired upon from different directions, getting catapulted into the air and then trying to hide or return fire. I've had some pretty awe inspiring moments so far.

If we look at the overall graphical and audio quality of the game, things look and sound quite good. The graphics, though not state-of-the-art by any stretch, get the job done when it comes to details on the Pilots and Titans. Pilots have great looking armor and suits that pending you're using the Insane Texture settings, look absolutely amazing up close. The Titans also look great when it comes to texture quality but also in the animation department. The animations in the game look incredible with the Titans acting like super-sized soldiers, moving left to right with virtually zero stutters.

Now, overall you have to look at the big picture and look at what kind of value this game offers. First off, the game does not have a Single-player mode so for some of those single-player fans out there, you're out of luck. All of the "Story" features have been seamlessly integrated into the multiplayer in the "Campaign" mode which is simply a combination of different games modes and maps with an added narrative at the beginning and end of a match. Game modes range from Team Deathmatch (Attrition), CTF, Domination (Hardpoint) and a Last Titan Standing mode, each mode calling for a different play style to be successful. The multiplayer also integrates a feature called "Burn cards" which are one time use abilities that grant you weapons, speed boosts, armor boosts and whatnot. Finally, customization is definitely key in this game with familiar create-a-class features coming from the Call of Duty series included for both your Pilots and Titans.

To really sum it up quickly, if you're a big fast-paced multiplayer fan looking for something a little different, give Titanfall a shot. Unfortunately, there will also be the people that will see the lack of any other modes apart from the mutiplayer as a weakness and a problem for longevity and that is who the game won't be for.

Reasons why I gave this full marks:

    - Easy install with no problems

    - Fast matchmaking means playing in no time
    - Fast-paced game-play which involves some fast tactical thinking
    - Level-up system to unlock weapons, mods, customisation
    - Good mix of standard FPS and vehicular combat
    - Use of AI amongst Multiplayer means more kills and more fun
    - Graphics look good and will run on lower spec machines
    - Good intro/training to introduce you to the game
    - Play the style that suits you
    - No annoying in-game chat like 'noob this' and 'your mother that'
Installed, no problem. Played, no problem. This was a great start, so many games these days have problems with hardware, software, contacting key servers, and are generally such a stressful experience just to start playing a game that I have almost given up on PC gaming altogether. So, for me, this smooth introduction and game stability was a great bonus - no time wasted searching online for answers on how to actually get the game working. If only more game experiences were like that.

This game has immediately become my number one, it's a blast.

Better than BF4? Well, it's playable, so yes.
Better then CS:GO? Well, there's no annoying players bossing you around, calling you a 'noob', or generally being annoying.
Better than COD? Haha, that's a joke, almost everything is better than COD.

Of the mainstream FPS' out there at the moment I would have to say this is my favourite, and the shear smoothness and stability of the game-play has been a big plus for me. In the last couple of years gaming has turned into a nightmare of trying to get games to work rather than playing them - this brought back simple fun and joy to gaming, and for that, I cannot find a fault.

    - - BIG PROBLEM: You need 5-7 DAYS TO UNLOCK EVERY PIECE OF GEAR, this is what makes feel ripped off by EA (they want 60 $ for this!)

The game is hampered, however, by the need to "level up" in order to access new weapons and titans. That's fine for a single-player campaign, but multiplayer on PCs needs options to keep people interested.

Matchmaking in this version is horrendous. Day one, I was up against level 40+ players in my first match.

Next time, just give me the single-player campaign. The "Campaign as Multiplayer" concept seems really great on paper, but it just doesn't work out too well in practice. The story of the game seems to take place completely in the background. You and your fellow players basically serve as diversions to allow the major characters time to do whatever it is they're doing to advance the plotline.

That said, the game is still pretty fun to play. It's a well-done shooter, and it plays smoothly. The downsides are just making it such that I don't really feel like loading the game up anymore.

Well, it actually went well - this is a GOOD GAME. It suffers a lot, however, because of the downright GREEDY marketing (60 $ with no single player and 40 $ season pass).
Gameplay is brilliant both as a pilot where you run all over the map, wallrun, chain walljumps, use ziplines and rodeo enemy titans and as a titan where you blast your way through any encountered enemy. Titans work somewhat like killstreaks in CoD, but you get them even if you play very poorly, thus being better for casual players (with good score you get them faster).
There is also a completely FRESH MECHANIC OF BURN CARDS which is an interesting idea, you get cards for playing matches that you can use (up to 3 per match) and they grant you for example a superior weapon, infinite grenades and similar stuff. Is it good ? Well, it replaces CoD killstreaks but honestly I prefer the killstreaks, it's just way more satisfying even if you get them rarer.
Matches are only 6v6, but this is imo not an issue, as both sides get a lot of NPC grunts that serve as a targets for faster titan acquisition (sort of a crutch for weak players) and you generally get a lot of action, and thanks to NPCs even if it's clearly not your day you still feel powerful by slaughtering foot soldiers and hearing them scream in ave as they see you fight "Holy s...t did you just see what that pilot did !?". Their AI is basic and they are a pushover but still I think they fit well in Titanfall.
Maps are numerous (about a dozen) and well-designed, though they do not feel unique and are similar to each other, so it's a mixed score for the maps. Complete lack of destructibility is a shame too, as it would work so well with giant titans on the battlefield.
Sadly, the important thing that is player customization is non-existant (can only select gender), and the pool of weapons, perks and equipment is about 1/2 of any modern CoD/Battlefield game. This could have been done better. IT GETS STALE QUICKLY, much faster than let's say CoD, I have 200+ hours in Black Ops II whereas I have about 1/4 of that in Titanfall because THERE ISN'T ENOUGH CONTENT !
My second BIG PROBLEM with this game is LACK OF SINGLE PLAYER. Campaign COULD have been awesome, with all these mechs and alien creatures (totally scripted) we encounter on the maps, and those giant ships exploding around (scripted of course) you really missed a great opportunity there.
WARNING there is a thing called ONLINE CAMPAIGN but it SUCKS COMPLETELY those are just regular matches with scripted scenes and some dialogues running during the game but they're not even good voice actors there.
Yet still, you dare charging full price for this ! Come on you sc..bags, that's downright greedy !
So you want 60 $ for you game and then 40 $ for a season pass, but you don't even care to make solid amount of guns, single player or co-op ? *Sigh*

Should you buy this ? Yes if you're a multiplayer-focused FPS Player tired with BF and CoD serving you same stuff every year but be prepared for the lack of single player.

Running around as a pilot and shooting enemies is great fun because the wall-running is an appealing aspect to combat. Shooting endless waves of AI bots is far less appealing but they provide a way to acquire your Titan faster and promote chaos. You’ll be killing five times more bots than humans and this never sits quite right.
Titans are a blast to command and dash around the map in. You’ll crush AI bots like you just walked over ants and punch jumping players into red mist. Titans are powerful, and this is glorious for a short time. But when one team has 4 or more, the other team has a serious problem. The core mechanics are wonderful but near impossible to actually balance without jeopardizing what makes it so good. Titanfall also floods you with action and challenges while pressuring you back into combat. For that reason it can get tiring, but never boring. Its best played in short stints and struggles to provide long term enjoyment that you might expect from an online shooter.

Titanfall feels like a fresh and exciting game in a somewhat stagnant genre. All the combat is exhilarating and responsive (both for Titans and Pilots). The cat and mouse game between Titans and pilots achieved a far better balance than I had expected.

Unfortunately it's not all sunshine and daisies. I do have some minor complaints (and some less minor complaints as well). First off,

Unfortunately it's not all sunshine and daisies. I do have some minor complaints (and some less minor complaints as well). First off, while I do like the idea to add AI grunts to the mix to fill out the playing field... there's only one game mode that actually requires their presence and gives them a purpose other than a minor distraction. Grunts in Attrition are a step in the right direction, but I think the idea is squandered in other game modes. I also wouldn't mind seeing more weapons/ items as well as some new game modes (the latter of which have been promised as free DLC). Lastly, I do have some complaints about the current state of the PC port of Titanfall. Despite promises of an upcoming patch since the launch of the game, it is still locked at 60FPS and does not support multi-GPU systems. While the game does run fine on a single GPU, those of us with 120hz or higher displays would like to utilize the full horsepower of our systems.

Given all the marketing and rave reviews by so called "Critic Reviewers" it's clear that we've been hustled and misled. This goes to the same category with me as Call of Duty -games. These games entertain a certain kind of gamers, but for some reason I have never understood these games and their appeal for some people at all. Maybe Titanfall is made for a supercasual gamer, but I couldn't ever put lot of hours in the game because of its repetitiveness.

The hype got the better of me and I regret buying Titanfall for the full price at launch. The game is fun for maybe the first 10 hours and then repetition starts to kick in. Lack of interesting game modes and very limited weapons arsenal makes Titanfall a short online-only experience.

This re-imagining of the CoD genre(twitchy FPS shooter) has some great ideas. The merging of multi-jump, wall running and mechs are interesting. That's where the game falls apart. Balance of weapons ruins the game badly.

First of all, the aimbot pistol (smart pistol) is the dumbest addition to any online competitive shooter. It has no business in an online FPS game. The shotgun is extremely OP. This can be balanced, the aimbot pistol just needs to be removed.

Beyond that. The game has moments of fun but it just feels like a shallow shooter with little to no depth. You play a VERY CoD like shooter but with jet pack jumping then now and then you get a mech to use if you choose. The weapons are very few to choose from but cover all normal types of guns, a assault rifle, a LMG and DMR like gun, a sniper rifle. There is only one of each however.

The game doesn't feel worth 60 bucks. 50 would be pushing it. As another user posted, there are free to play games that offer better value and substance.

Respawn most certainly has spared no expense in making this the most action-packed, revolutionary and enjoyable multiplayer shooter that money can buy right now.

On the in game battlefield there's two distinct levels of battle - One, the foot soldiers on the ground, like the traditional FPSes from Respawn's Infinity Ward heritage, and two, the battles between the colossal Titans, making the experience all the more exciting as you wait for your Titan to fall into play, allowing you to join the "real" fight.

The jump-kit mechanics also offer something new to the otherwise tired Multiplayer FPS genre, in a way combining it with platforming genres - allowing for double-jumps and even wallrunning, and there's a veritable treasure trove of tactics to be discovered with regards to these mechanics.

In summary, to describe Titanfall in a nutshell, it's like HAWKEN crossed with the best bits of Call of Duty, with a little Mirror's Edge thrown in. And the result is a delicious and revolutionary action FPS which will always leave you hungry for more.

**** Brilliant. They couldn't have refined it any more. Game of the year, I say. This is a truly remarkable game, full of a high powered, fun range of futuristic weaponry, fantastic graphics (if you're computer's good enough!), groundbreaking mechanics, an undefined parkour system, and the gameplay will leave your face glued full throttle to your monitor.

As soon as this game finishes installing, ahem - 4.5 hours approx - ahem, you will be playing non-stop. This is truly the ultimate first person shooter. Get it now.

By the way, anyone who rates this game below 7 have either serious mental issues, only play COD, or are **** **** trolls.

Pretty entertaining, but it's basically like Counterstrike for 60 bucks. I think the game lacks a lot of and the need for skill. After 30-60 minutes, you're sick of doing the same thing over and over again. If you are filthy rich, I'd recommend getting this game. It's fun for short little stints. For everyone else, save your money.

Titanfall is a best shooter that came out for the last 7 years. I was enjoying every COD game, but Ghosts killed the series for me. I used to love Quake, Unreal Tournament and CS. This is fresh air. Well done Respawn. Just add some more modes, pilots only mode and we have a absolute killer. Thanks!

I was waiting for a game that would blow me away and break the oligopoly of Battlefield and Call of Duty. Here it is. Titanfall shows that online shooting does not have to be confined to contemporary battlegrounds. [05/2014, p.42]

In the mind-boggling question that tortures world's biggest gaming studios (how to refresh the competitive FPS genreĀ), Respawn answers by taking the Call of Duty core, enhancing it with elements from various sources and franchises (Mech games, Crysis , Tribes, Mirror's Edge etc.) and forging it in the Old School mold (Quake/Unreal Tournament) . Titanfall does not innovate. It manages, however, to leave a fresh taste by balancing nicely all components of its gameplay.

Titanfall is a highly entertaining online shooter, but it's a bit light on content for a full priced game. You quickly start to realize that Titanfall could desperately use more maps, more unlockables, more upgrades and more customization. [Apr 2014]
