Aug 30, 2016An excellent game visually, mechanically and with it’s strong story and acting, this should be in your libraries.
-
Sep 9, 2016It should make one think about the flexibility of the mind and what it means to consider one’s species the apex of creation.
-
Oct 23, 2016The Turing Test joins Portal as another great puzzle game featuring an ominous A.I. entity. The puzzles will make you think, but not as much as the story’s wonderful exploration of life.
-
Aug 31, 2016If you're hankering for a first person puzzler and/or you're a sci-fi nut, then you will probably love The Turing Test.
-
Sep 11, 2016A philosophical-scientific story meets intelligent puzzles - with a better end of the story this could have been a real masterpiece.
-
Nov 22, 2016The Turing Test really proves the player's abilities and make us swim into a deep pool of reflections and ideas about the human mind.
-
CD-ActionNov 18, 2016Even if the The Turing Test sometimes wanders into the realm of clichés in terms of both gameplay and the story, the developers tackled the subject of artificial intelligence really well and created an engaging game. [11/2016, p.50]
-
Oct 2, 2016The mechanics are fun and narration is interesting, but the puzzle design is quite basic and the end result is a fun but limited puzzle game.
-
Sep 5, 2016It’s the sort of plot with so many layers, so many questions and so few definitive answers that it’s likely to keep you up at night.
-
Sep 1, 2016A sleek, shiny FPS puzzler that overcomes the limitations of its gameplay with some accessible conundrums and an interesting tale.
-
Aug 29, 2016Whether you’re in it for the gameplay or find yourself drawn in by the looming mystery that steadily simmers over in due course, The Turing Test (minus the occasionally hard-to-decipher audio) is a smartly-structured and delicately-arranged puzzle game that knows its boundaries and leaves it to the player to fill in the missing gaps.
-
Aug 25, 2016The Turing Test is clever and well designed, but it lacks some variety, since it feels repetitive after a few hours. Still, a very interesting challenge for your brain.
-
Aug 29, 2016A solid but not excellent puzzle game. The Turing Test is a nice title, with interesting puzzles and an enigmatic story. Some rooms are complex and compelling, but at the end of the adventure truly memorable puzzles will be less than expected.
-
Pelit (Finland)Nov 9, 2016An enjoyable, polished first person puzzler in the vein of Portal and The Talos Principle. Shame it doesn't really have an identity of its own. [Oct 2016]
-
Aug 25, 2016The Turing Test sports interesting mechanics, a nice story and some good ideas but it's unable to reach the top. Many puzzles are nothing more than fillers whose only purpose is to stretch out the experience.
-
Aug 25, 2016The Turing Test offers some engaging puzzle gameplay that will keep you entertained for roughly 12 hours. It lacks polish in some areas but as a package is a solid addition to the library of those interested in first person puzzle games.
-
Aug 25, 2016A very pleasant puzzle game, with a catchy narrative and varied gameplay. The PC version shows some flaws with the control system, but all in all it is a game you should consider if you like puzzle games.
-
Sep 5, 2016At first I was rolling my eyes at a blatant rip off of other fantastic games, but by the end I realized this is a great game in its own right.
-
Oct 23, 2016The Turing Test provides interesting story and characters, but the puzzles are a bit too monotonous and easy. Still, this science-fiction tale is worth discovering, and the dialogue is well-written.
-
Sep 27, 2016The Turing Test puzzle platformer is quite entertaining mix of genre ideas. It can also offer a philosophical subtext. Due to not-so-original puzzle mechanics or innovative environment the game stays behind the genre competitors.
-
Sep 1, 2016I don’t want to disparage The Turing Test too much. It suffers by nature of comparisons with other similar games, but perhaps unfairly. With its lightweight puzzles and plot, The Turing Test is one of those “Great-For-An-Afternoon” games, the ones that scratch a specific itch and go down easy. In this case, it’s the “I need something like Portal, but I’ve already played Portal” itch.
-
Sep 1, 2016The Turing Test can be quite accurately described as Portal meets Soma, exploring similar ideas of AI and selfhood. The trouble is, I suppose, that both those games did each aspect better.
-
Aug 31, 2016Its mechanics are solid but largely unoriginal, and its themes and world-building are genuinely great. And while it never reaches the originality and heights of its inspirations, it still manages to deliver an interesting world with one heck of a twist.
-
Aug 30, 2016If you’re willing to accept a game which is slightly rough around the edges, and will remind you of Portal at every turn without actually being Portal, then The Turing Test could be for you. There’s a lot here to like: a philosophical dialogue about ethics, transhumanism and the singularity, in conjunction with occasionally brilliant design.
-
Aug 30, 2016The comparisons to Portal are many, and obviously intentional, but this smart and ambitious first person puzzler is no mere clone.
-
Aug 25, 2016The Turing Test is a nice puzzle/adventure game that revolves around unoriginal puzzles and a very interesting narrative. The whole experience can feel a little drab unless the player both really enjoys this kind of “portal-esque” gameplay and loves a good sci-fi story.
-
Games Master UKNov 9, 2016Story is this game's greatest asset. It's just a shame you have to wade through boring puzzles to reach it. [Nov 2016, p.73]
-
Oct 5, 2016This interesting FPP puzzle game borrows a lot from Valve's Portal but doesn't surpass it in any way. The puzzles are interesting but repetitive and after a while the gameplay becomes a bit boring. The technical side could also be better but if you like such games, The Turing Test could be a nice surprise for you. The story added on top of the puzzles is definitely worth your time.
-
Jul 5, 2017The Turing Test gets a high passing grade for its many engaging puzzles, but marks deducted for a storyline that never fully connects.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Nov 5, 2016Decent and likable sci-fi exercise that tries to aim high with riddles and theme, but it succeeds only partly. The other parts are just unmemorable. [Issue #268]
-
Edge MagazineSep 27, 2016There's promise in The Turing Test's constituent parts, but considered as a whole, it fails the imitation game. [Nov 2016, p.110]

Sep 7, 2016More than anything, I’m delighted that it’s tried so damned hard to be more interesting, more involved, more intelligent. That it falls short is a shame, but that it reaches higher than most is to be lauded. Gorgeous-looking, exquisite-sounding, and ambitious in its desire to be interesting, there’s a lot to congratulate. That the experience is punctuated by tumidity in its writing and puzzle design is the issue.
