Her job is to guide and advise him, to make him look good so that he can land a royal bride. It is her responsibility to keep him out of trouble - not to let him walk blindly into a political minefield, not to let him get arrested for a crime he didn't commit, and definitely not to let him fall in love with her. The more-than-occasional exposition dump is very common to try to help the player make sense of the story and the relations between the characters.

Choices are spread out and not too common, leading to minimal player interaction in the overall story, but are generally very clear with where they lead you leading to little guess work when selection options if they significant choices.

I quite like the CG work, but the overall backgrounds in normal conversation need the organic touch of the backgrounds in the CGs and are a tad disappointing. While the CG and the normal art are done by different artists, the change between the appearance between the two different artists is not too large, making the overall piece look fairly together despite how low key the backgrounds are.

Music in general was fairly bland (probably just my taste). It's often composed of guitar tracks along with some more amped up music for combat or emotional scenes. After a while it got somewhat annoying and repetitive, but it does the job alright and cues the player on the proper mood.

Overall Royal Trap is a fairly solid Otome Visual Novel, so fans of the genre should go for a read.
