It has everything and gives you nothing. The biggest problem with the game it explains nothing and leaves you in charge of every advanced piece of technology. There are no tutorials on how things work or join up. You spend your time creating a base, selling it then creating it properly.
You'll go to the internet wondering what this symbol means, or why doesn't that work. God the number of times I have had to stop the game just to figure out simple things the game should have told me.
Then there are the constant bug attacks, no sooner have I figured out how to create a bio-gas plant setup, then I have to leave it halfway through because of another attack. Then if I am not under an attack, the computer and woman are telling me that I should clear out another nest. That constant messaging is so mind-numbingly grating after the 50th time. You end up dropping everything, burning the wildlife like the Americans in Vietnam, just so they will shut up.
And this is the problem, the game throws everything at you, expecting you to deal with everything and offer not a single method of delegating. You ... have... to ... do ... everything. EVERYTHING! I literally have to manually chop grass down to feed the biogenerator.
The character is annoying, and the chatter between the AI and the Girl becomes tedious and incessant. Then at the most critical times, when you founder around wondering what on "distant planet" you are supposed to be doing ... nothing. They don't offer any help or advice outside of very general pointers. Most of the time they are useless and frustrating you want to turn off your speakers not save your ears.
Then there are the graphics. They are decent. but there is so much ok on the screen that my Ryzen 7 5800x and RTX3080Ti turn my office into a Swedish sauna.
Then there are the missions, given in speech form with very little direction and actual goals. It is so annoying when you fail a mission because you destroy something you were not supposed to. The problem is twofold, you are often under pressure when you get instruction, and having to firefight while listening to instruction. Then the lack of highlighting and waypoints means that sometimes it feels like the game is talking to you like you already understand or know what the hell is going on.
I am not stupid, I just have no idea what you're talking about. How about a little down arrow from the sky to make it obvious to everyone?
Apart from that, and the pure frustration. There is a game here with some very addictive parts. I have deleted this game twice already, only to go away from the computer frustrated and realise how it's supposed to work. Then go back, install and play it all over again.
I both hate and love this game ... at the moment I am in my hate phase. The most annoying part of this is a simple tutorial would have solved so many issues with this game.
The missions that mean clearing out nests and bugs are just a pain, you are just swamped with critters. This means that your PC starts to lag, and then you end up trying to hit a sequence of buttons in order to defend yourself. Highly frustrating and takes the enjoyment of out this game.Shame as I switch between a 5-7 for this game.… Expand
