Now for the bad stuff.
Graphically, it is bad. Really bad. The maps are sparsely populated by objects (and those that exist are very low detail), you can see obvious texture tiling on the floor, and the texture resolution is on the level of Half-Life 1. The characters especially do not even seem to have textures at all, the male main character looks as if he is not wearing trousers because of it.
Character models are very low detail and there is obvious clipping of the girl's skirt with her legs, and
Character animations are shoddy overall.
There are also no graphics options to speak of, only resolution and a window/full-screen toggle.
But considering how terrible the game looks, those options would be pointless anyway.
Game-play wise it is monotonous and frustrating.
There are only a few types of assault rifles, plus 2 variations of sniper rifles and one hand gun. No grenades or anything to diversify your combat options.
The cover system is problematic at best. Often times you hide behind cover and still get hit, because the bullets pass right through it. When you crouch, which you need to do for the cover to even slightly work, you can barely tell the difference between being crouched and standing upright.
Because there is no blood in this game, there is no hit confirmation. You just do not know if your bullets are actually hitting the enemy, until they die, and for some weapons, there is a disconnect between the almost invisible muzzle flash and the sound, so you do not even know if your weapon is actually firing at all.
The AI, both enemy and ally, is a joke.
Both the mobs and your ally run around the map randomly, there is no pattern to any of it. Enemies only react to you if they can see you, otherwise they scurry around like headless chicken. They take no cover, they do not follow you around, and forget about things like them trying to flank you.
Your ally is not any better, either. he/she also randomly runs around the map, sometimes randomly falling off cliffs, and getting stuck in rocks (as do enemies). That is the reason the devs make you hit the Q key once in a while to call your ally to your position, that's how dumb the AI is.
The game is also incredibly short, only 6 very linear levels, plus a tutorial and boss level.
Even if you repeatedly die because of the gameplay issues, you can finish the game in 1 to 2 hours.
I like anime, and I really wanted to like this game. But it is just bad, on almost every conceivable level.
Even at 10$, I can not possibly recommend this game.… Expand
