    Moral dilemmas do not mesh well with low-brow humor, while the game’s Souls-like approach is hampered by poorly implemented combat. The Last Oricru might entertain you… but will not excite.

    The Last Oricru tried to balance its design between in-depth narratives of CRPG and Souls-like heavy action. On top of that, a world that is a mixture of myth, science and magic is also compelling. However, it becomes frustrating when you realize the shortcomings of Souls-like (no maps, no explanation) and the element of CRPG that every action affect the ending does not make a good synergy.

    From the variable storyline to the co-op options to the ability to equip your hero with the best items the player can find, the game is well poised for success. Unfortunately, so far it gives the impression that it's simply not finished. [Issue#323]

    The Last Oricru starts from some good ideas but unfortunately poorly developed or not fully developed. Almost everything is to be reviewed, from the narrative choises and characterization to the combat system, bad most of the time. Hopefully, these criticisms will lead to a more refined second job.

    The Last Oricru can be terrible in some parts, but when it's good, it's delightful — though, I can't recommend it outside of its co-op elements, and I'd avoid it as a single-player title overall.

    Seriously! I've enjoyed it a lot.

    Overall it is like an easier Darks Souls with scifi mixed in. Very immersive.
    Combat is challenging. Items, skills, upgrading, exploring... It's all in there.
    The main character is quite a chad :) Very fresh.
    I've encountered only one minor bug and they're working on fixing it with the next patch.
    Don't listen to hateful crybabies and try the game yourself.

    I somewhere read it is like souls mixed with Gothic which is pretty accurate, but it also combined with scifi. The world is pretty cool. Main hero takes a little getting used to (strange choice of voice) but it will eventually click and I am glad it isn't just some other forgettable hero.

    I love the story and how the souls mechanic is included into it. Hope these guys get another chance for a game like this, since this AA debut from a small European studio is better than many AAA games from recent memory.    … Expand

But after a few hours, I realized how deep the rabbit hole goes. This is not an ordinary soulslike game, there is something to think about here, and not stupidly brandish a sword.
    I have a question to dialog. They could be a little more mature, but damn, I don’t know how I would behave at the sight of a talking rat)))
    There are questions about the animation of the characters, but after 20 minutes you either don’t notice or laugh at some moments.
    It was a little annoying that after death you need to run from end to end, but this is such an idea and a chance to get more XP. This is needed for the boss fight. For me, this is much better than running around empty locations. It would be boring.
    There are questions about the plot development system, but damn it, you need to be more careful what you do and say, otherwise, you will have to go through the first location several times for the best result.

    The game as a whole is worth the time spent on it, albeit with reservations.    … Expand

    Weak story, insufferable protagonist, and barebones souls-like systems, The Last Oricru does not bring anything new to the genre.
