Dec 16, 2022The Feast is more of an interesting experiment than a full-fleshed video game. I don’t have a problem with the short duration of its story or the small number of endings. The atmosphere and some of the emotional moments are very well put together. But gameplay is limited and the player is too much of a blank slate to motivate players. A little more context would have helped in this area. How players react to the entire experience will depend on their love for dark stories, absurdity, and creepy moments. The Feast shows the developers at Sever have a good grasp of their ability to create narrative and atmosphere, but they need to work on their approach to gameplay.
