This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Don't really understand all hype around Skyrim.

I remember the times of Daggerfall, Morrowind. And when the Oblivion was released it was already a disaster and downfall. Skyrim is not an exception. There is a huge list of stupidity happening in this game:
    - you are FORCED to travel around different shop owners to sell your merchandise. If you do not do it, you will be always overweighted;
    - all the caves are almost the same. You follow the route, fight the zombies, come to the final boss, pull the lever and appear near the entrance. Taps are visible, money not a big deal there, also learn new words. Ok. Same BS as in Oblivion except for shouts;
    - physical issues. It's just a disaster. Objects fly around, sometimes you need NoClip cheat to fly through the door. Thousands of threads on forums about that issue and NOTHING done to fix it in patches;

The story is boring. The game is just boring. Morrowind was the whole new world. In Oblivion you at least could upgrade your athletics and acrobatics. Here you can crawl mountains without training anything, here you are slow. You should be a werewolf to run faster. Falling almost never causes any damage.

Just one huge waste of time. I didn't even finish. Deleted and watched the rest on youtube. Recommend you doing the same to save your time.

    Seni seviyorum...

Skyrim is a good game, not a perfect one but still a good one. The story is engaging, rough around the edges but flashy enough to be cool. My main gripe with the game is how you interact with the NPCs, and the story in general. This game takes itself way too seriously, would it have killed to have *one* intentionally funny moment in the game? Or have a character tell some sort of joke? In contrast, Oblivion knew when to be serious and where not to be, you can still take it seriously in the serious moments, and laugh in the silly ones, the Sheogorath quests are a good example of comedy in Oblivion done right. Sheogorath in Skyrim isn't as mischievous as he was in Oblivion, and it still somehow feels like there's tension as if you're doing the Alduin questline. Now to the NPC interactions, Bethesda really went crazy with the essential NPCs, even the random beggar on the street is essential, even if he's not related to the main quest line at all. Why would Delphine or Jarl Balgruf be essential? They're just middleman characters who don't do things themselves, they have you or another smart character do it for them. The fact that you couldn't just progress through the story without these annoying characters being in the way is really contradictory to the freedom the game advertises. But it's still a good game regardless. Expand

The game was really ambitious in 2011 and until now (2019) still one of the greatest RPG that ever existed. The map is very big, great enemies, great charcter building, great quests. There are some bugs but for a game so complex its kinda unfair to consider thouse bugs as a bad point in a review. For sure one of my favourite games of all time.

And what if i want to become a bisexual rice seller asian black woman with a peenis. And that fact that i cant make that its disgusting and horrible. But even if the game is not perfect the game has some amazing features like the paid mods. The people who complain about the paid mods are probably homeless people who bought the game from a 7 th party seller like G3A or Kunguin or even Instant-Goiming ( NOT LIKE ME who got all the skyrim versions and i didnt buy them once like a pleb I BOUGHT them 5 time so i can suppor the BEST game company EVER). The paid mods are just awesome and make the game even better ( EVEN IF PERFECT AND ITS ALMOST IMPOSIBLE THE MAKE PERFECT MORE PERFECT). Bethesda is the kind of game kompany that does everyhing so the costumer is happy and they do like no other company( they are my favorite game devs after Elektronic Arts). Another flaw in this game is that it allows the played to add mods that are not paid ( such wow i cant belive they did this) like why whould you need free mods when you can buy them (paid mods form the creation club are awesome) the non paid mods are so trash and give you nothing compared to the paid ones. In conclusin this game is the best game made and nothing will top it (maybe skyrim 2)and if you didnt buy at least once every single copy of the game you should even play it. and you shouldnt even play this game because there is no option the make a black asian rice seller women with a peenis and its disgustin to all black asian rice seller women in this world and others. It was a true marvel when it released back in 2011 and now thanks to mods it still holds up as one of the most recommended Open World Western RPGs. Skyrim is beautiful and big province of Tamriel and after so many years I still find something new. You can choose how you want to play. Be it as an archer, mage, swordsman

While the main story is hardly as epic as Oblivion's, it's the various side quests that make up for it.
I'd say this is the best game to introduce someone to PC gaming, even after so many years simply because of its enormous modding community.

This game set the bar for open world RPG games. I can see the mod support will keep it alive until ES:6 is released.

The witcher 3 did surpass Skyrim in my eyes, though the fact that i'm a huge witcher fan boy and i still love them equally should shed some light on how amazing Skyrim is...

Absolutely lovely feeling of returning to Fallout, the very first one, when you seem to have a goal and still do everything you want and more.

And the atmosphere in the game is excellent, the winter is cozy, and even the translated songs performed by bards do not annoy but work for the atmosphere.

And finally I fell in love with the game after two moments. At first, in one of the cities a guard came up to me, frowned at me and said - "Or maybe this is me, only I don’t know it yet." And the second was much later, when the thief who met me at night, to my usual "what am I like a person who has money?" honestly answered me that I look like a person who has nowhere to put them ..

    Suffers from:

    - bad combat
    - dumbed down RPG
    - bad story
    - forgettable characters

The game is graphically pretty good, even for the parameters of 2018, and for its time, it was a reference for the genre, a masterpiece that no player forget. You never forget when you first climbed the mountain and saw the snow being projected by the wind down the hill.
The soundtrack its impressive and you have hours of dialogue and story to listen. You almost can talk to every single person in the game that they have something to say to you.
Game mechanics are obviously limited, compared to current titles (I do remind I'm reviewing this in 2018), and it is still possible to find bugs or side quests that do not work right. However it is very important to note that there are community-corrected mods that do not affect the achievements of the game (in any case, be aware of them before using them).

Skyrim is a fantastic open world game that should be a reference to every open world games. The size matters but the most important thing is, without a doubt, the content. And in Skyrim at every step you find something to do. It's easily a 200 hours plus journey if you want.

Skyrim its one of that games that any gamer must play, at least once, and that will always going to use as reference for what a open world and role playing game should be.

Once upon a time, a handsome young yarl and his royal thane walked out of a tavern and were immediately attacked by a dragon. The young yarl retreated to the tavern, leaving his thane to her fate at the talons of the beast. He lived the rest of his life in the tavern, safe from any more dragons. The end.

This is my favorite game. I enjoy reading a lot of myths, legends, and fantasy, and this game made me feel like I was in one of my books. The only problem I have with it is that there are no combos. Not MK combos, I dislike those, but I wanted a fighting style similar to Kingdoms of Amalur. Otherwise, like I said, this is my favorite game.

Skyrim has huge amounts of content and freedom, but much of it is "quantity over quality".

Most characters are very 2-dimensional and a lot of voice acting is not convincing. There is also the usual lack of voice actors (kill a villain, then talk to quest giver who has same voice and tone). In many ways this game is not a big step up from Oblivion.
The terrible interface is built around the limits of consoles and their controllers. Level design is linear & restricted due to console hardware limitations (Xbox360 only has 500mb RAM).

The mod scene is very vibrant and there is a mod to improve on just about every weak aspect of the base game, but finding and installing 100 mods is very time consuming. Still, there is nothing quite like modding Skyrim - if you persevere through the initial setup you are rewarded with hundreds of additional hours of quest content, much of it to a higher standard than the base game.

So, vanilla Skyrim is decent, but not worthy of some of the hype. But add 100 mods and then you have something special.

Progress and improve your skill with all the 18 different skill trees to match your play style, learn countless spells and collect powerful weapons and armour to improve your arsenal.
You start off as a prisoner of the empire, about to be executed after being captured when crossing the border, you are saved however when a dragon burns the town and you flee with a stormcloak or an imperial soldier to a town of Riverwood, from here you embark on a journey to kill the dragon Alduin, the world eater, to do this you learn a vast array of shouts, spells and gather many weapons and sets of armour as you progress. Once you have completed the story there are many side quests for you to do, from joining a group of assassins to collecting artefacts of powerful deities and even becoming a vampire of a werewolf. The characters you meet when on your journey feel unique despite the limited voice actors/actresses
Skyrim has an amazing character creator where you can choose how your character looks. You can choose from a range of different races each with their different perks, for example a Khajiit for example, a race of cat people have increased damage in fist fights because of their claws and have a night vision ability. The game is very easy to pick up, with simplistic controls and varying modes of difficulty, as you progress the enemies you encounter become stronger with you and this keeps the game challenging even if you have reached a high level.
If you have finished with the game as a whole and have nothing else to do you can install mods made by the community, from dinosaurs to making your own city, the possibilities are endless.
In my opinion the game still holds up well today and well worth the £19.99 ($26.30).

In a role-playing point of view, Skyrim can be great. From the cart ride at the beginning of the game, to delving into dungeons or just exploring towns or the world itself. Even with mediocre graphical quality, Skyrim maintains a sort of magical but grim and dark theme. But after the first maybe 10 hours you'll really start to see the game's flaws

    Pros:
+Immersion. You'll stumble into a town and hear guards talking about recent events. Citizens will gather around a pub/inn or a market place. At a glance skyrim can really feel alive.
+Easy to pick up and enjoy. If you don't often play games or are just generally not good at them and prefer a more casual experience. Skyrim is easy to get into and has a very simple UI and pretty simple controls.
+Stumbling across quests while just exploring feels rewarding.
    +Mod support is good.

    Cons:
-Voice acting is a huge hit with it sometimes feeling like only 10 people are voicing the hundreds of characters in the game.
-The main quest is quite dull and feels like Bethesda put 90% of their budget into quantity instead of quality.
-A lot sidequests are unmemorable with maybe 2 handfuls standing out out among the absolute **** load of quests.
    - There will be more than a few times where you'll obtain a quest and put it on hold for another quest only to completely forget about that quest and then decide it's really not worth it.
-Being able to master anything in the game with no restrictions removes a lot of replayability.
-After seeing all the mods for the game you really start to see what Bethesda could have put in the game, and disappointingly starts to feel like they relied too much on their community to make their game good.
-Bugs,Glitches and crashes still to this day,if you've not downloaded an obligatory mod to fix all of the game's issues, then it's a buggy crashing mess.

If you don't mod the hell out of it, Skyrim becomes boring quickly, Especially when it's compared to previous titles in the Elder Scrolls series. With bugs and crashes that Bethesda has still not fixed to this day,the game never feels stable on modern hardware even with it's mediocre graphics.

I have legit not seen a quest line I consider even passable. The dungeons, while a fair improvement over Oblivion's couple strains of layouts, are mostly populated by the following: Bandits, more bandits, necromancers, Falmer, Falmer-to-dwarven-ruins, Dwarven ruins, and irrationally savage natives on the west side of the map. Bland.

This game is in some ways so watered down that even the obvious racist factions do not care what race your character is. In many ways this game is unbelievably sterile. I think it is because they stopped letting Kirkbride be lead writer, artist, and designer. God knows it would have killed him to continue that amount of alcohol and drug abuse, but the setting is ever the blander for it.

Anyway, in my honest opinion, the setting jumped the shark when the lore books started to directly contradict the setting, entirely to make an inoffensive, voice worked, familiar game. What do we have now? A setting more generic than the first EverQuest? Prove me wrong.

Now this isn't fair to judge these games off the bat. They have always, at their best, been about user content. But we're lacking the 'big' mods, like Mart's Monster Mod, Obscuro's overhaul, Fransceso's, the Tamriel Rebuilt, etc and ever the poorer for it.

So it has to be half a score. There is nothing insanely dense and creative, the writing has pooped itself, and the creators are pushing an MMO. Holy crap what a downturn.

Imagine if the game series we had in 2002 had continued on with no sacrifices made to the gods of expedience or so your neighbors idiot kid would play it for more than an hour or two.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI, b*tch.

Skyrim is a perfect RPG experience, but it fails to deliver in all the other areas. Combat, immersion, crafting, bugs and glitches, this are all areas that Bethesda could have improved but didnt, thats why IMO skyrim gets an 8 out of 10 (skyrim can be massively improved with mods and is easily turned into a 10/10 game)

Launching the game smoothly, with no issues and crashes collides with being a mirracle. Graphics is cheap and without mods it looks like garbage, even for 2011.
Sadly, once again, the community had to repair the game instead of its devs. I hate Bethesda for that they're not giving their games the love they deserve. If you finally get over the **** Bethesda have left you with, after launching the game with dozens of mods and community patches, it can finaly be good looking, partly repaired, balanced, smooth and addictive. If you are willing to spend around 1-3 hours installing mods before playing the actual game - it's fine. Otherwise, give up.
Unfortunately, I'm here to rate the original, vanilla Skyrim, not moded one, and this one is sole garbage. Just don't.

Fixing all bethesda fails, creating great game. And it takes lot of time, for someone new, i would say at least two weeks being burried in lot of problematics.
But reward is - one of best games out there, even with fact, that its so old, with proper mods, it competes with anything 7 years newer, with ease.

Now again - Fixing all bethesda fails, creating great game. And how is it even possible, that bethesda dares to destroy this, attepmting to monetize it, trying to divide modding comunity, either with their creative cash cow nonsense club, or releasing SSE, which is almost completely uncompatible. This company is clueless and all their new efforts only prove it, and i worry, this is the last tittle really worth it.
Giving score to game, fixed by thousands of fans, talented active amazing people from all around world - 10/10.
For bethesda version, i wouldnt put more than 5/10, maybe 4/10.

Then when you drop in you immediately get to know the environment of the civil war in Skyrim. The character customisation is combined with the game in a very good way. Then 2 minutes after you started the game and saw the civil war you meet your main antagonist - Alduin. I also really like the irony that Alduin saves you from death, so you can defeat him later. Overall the main quest line is quite good as it introduces you into a lot of the main cities, the thieves guild, and the blades. It shows you that in this game you will be exploring A LOT of caves. The 4 sub-plots of the story - The thieves guild, the dark brotherhood, the companions, and the mages college are even better than the normal story because they introduce daedric lords, and most of the different skill trees you can build your character around. The bards college sub-plot is smaller, but still very fun as you can slightly make your own song for a festival. The biggest sub-plot - The civil war is awesome, and the battle for Whiterun is the most epic part of the whole game. The only down side I find to it is that you either choose jarl Balgruuf to hate you or jarl Laila to hate you (she also gets replaced by Maven Black Briar, and you probably hate her). Another thing I think they should have added to the Civil War is the hard to do option of stopping the war, combining the Stormcloaks and the Imperials, and driving the Thalmor out of Skyrim once and for all. The first DLC was a nice add-on that gave players more freedom, so I respect it. The Dawnguard DLC did an amazing job of showing us the vampires, and I like how they again gave us the option between Dawnguard and Vampire Lord. The Dragonborn DLC added a whole new chunk of land - the island of Solstheim. The main story of the DLC wasn't as good as the main story of the Dawnguard DLC, but I think all the other missions, items, and lore added with it made it the best DLC of the three. To sum up, Skyrim is the single-player game that makes you think you are playing a multi-player game, and even after your 4th play-through you can still have fun with it, not to mention how many game-breaking mods are there. I definitely recommend to every gamer out there. GO AND PLAY SKYRIM! Expand

Calling a game perfect may sound as an excess or exaggeration to most people, but this game may come close. Great, beautiful, large world. Great story and lore. It has everything to be considered a classic.

I actually got this game as an apology for something that happened on my Birthday a few days before and to this very day it is one of my favorite games ever made. Ignore the bugs, even though some can be game breaking and this is among the greatest games of all time, the best rpg ever made in my opinion as far as freedom is concerned.

Remember! I have never been a RPG lover.

I want to be honest now, the game is highly overrated. Why? People do not see what's going to be in a game, simply, and when I say this, I think it's important things that are missing here. Cutscenes in some part, at least, got to be in a game, I don't se anything of that, very rarely. And one of the most important thing, the combat system, is so

Skyrim is a good game otherwise, don't let me wrong about that.

Skyrim is beautiful, not only the map, but the all game is just beautiful. Soundtrack is so amazing. Combat System give you so much freedom. Some of side's story are fantastic. A lot of people say that the plot sucks, does not, it's average but definitely not suck. TES V: Skyrim it's very good game, that's all.

I tried few times to create new characters specializing in different combats styles after the main playthrough, but eventually ditched them after 20 or so hours cause experience was so much the same as the first time around.
Still it is a very good game, and mods can provide unlimited replay value if you are willing to spend time looking for the good ones.

I love this game a lot, but the entire community is being ruined by paid mods on the Steam Workshop.Skyrim is only mediocre when played without mods. Skyrim was an amazing game, and now Bethesda have abused this by introducing payments for modding the game.

Don't let companies ruin the PC gaming market.

There are tons of locations to explore and most of them are not just an empty landmark. Loots in this game are insane, you will ended up putting stuffs in boxes and sacks, and maybe forget about some of them. Many quest lines and side quests are interesting. They will keep you engaged for months if not years. I will not complain about bugs too much as it is common in games of this size. There are also other minor issues with this game such as not so well written story, not refined relationship system with NPCs... well, I really have a hard time finding something to complain about this game. I would recommend everyone (of the right age) to play this game and they play again with some mods installed. But beware beware the dragonborn comes! Expand

Glorious. Best game ever. Except maybe too easy, except the very beginning fighting naked, there was no difficultly level sufficiently high enough to challenge me. The story and atmosphere were great, although I don't see how others can be playing this single player game indefinitely.

This game will be great once fans fix it and mod it... just like any other Bethesda game- so grats to the only company today that can not only get away with releasing broken games and getting fans to do all the work to make it playable... but the company that gets unbridled fanboy praise for doing so.

Anyone giving this game a 10 wouldn't know a good game if it came up and bit them on the face. We're seeing too many companies release broken games before they should be (because if this game was released without all the awful, and I'm talking game breaking awful, glitches, it would be amazing), and yet get away with it- why? Why are we settling for this? Why are games this flawed getting tens? A game that has numerous bugs that literally ruin the game, make main missions unfinishable, etc... is NOT A PERFECT GAME!

What to say about a game that is already considered a classic? The game may feel a little boring after a while, but if you immerse yourself in the story you will definitively love this game. And MODS, TALOS LORD THE MODS IS ONE OF THE BEST PART, specially if you play the game raw, and then install a bunch of mods.

Unfortunately, Skyrim trips and falls on its own (most probably, to make the cool-sounding deadline of 11-11-11) and just before it reaches perfection as the ultimate specimen of its genre, it self-destructs in a crucial aspect of game design: the interface and the peripheral components (inventory, journal, map, etc)... but that is not to say that Skyrim is anything but a truly majestic, epic RPG that will suck you right in its cosmos.
