    Masterpiece... Although to this day it is mostly due to the mods that still keeps it alive and provides ultimate immersion (Frostfall, iNeed, etc.) and graphical overhauls (ENB, Realistic Water Two w/ parallax, HDT-physics, etc.).

    I have read some of other users' reviews, especially those who rated less than 3, and I want to say that they are right. It's true, Skyrim has some bugs and its basic graphics are not some of the best graphics compared to other games, but I don't want to base my vote on the graphics system (thought I have to say I enjoyed it very much, it depends on each person taste).

    Skyrim is one of the few games that offers you an intense experience of gameplay with a great amount of missions, that can take you whole days of playing. Skyrim is one of the few games that I have started all over from the beginning completing its main story every time, making some changes in my character, and it was worth it. Every time you play this game you have something new to discover, some new mission to complete or some new place to explore.
    You may stop playing it for a while, but there is no doubt that soon or later you will play it at least once again, enjoying it as your first time.

    Skyrim follows the same conventions as the previous TES games really good world design, good graphics for its time and a good soundtrack, however Skyrim expresses these conventions more than any other TES game with it's massive dense world design and 3 years old undated graphics, I'll admit that the soundtrack might not be as good as the previous games because most of it is unoriginal. I could go on about the good points of Skyrim but that is covered very well by other reviewers.

    I'll be the first to admit Skyrim is a no way near perfect game but most of the bad points about Skyrim can be protested, the combat for example, lots of people say "Why can't Skyrim have combat like Chivalry or Shadow Warrior well that’s because Skyrim is a console game as well as a pc title and it would be near to to impossible to make the melee combat as complex as Chivalry’s because there are only so many buttons on a controller plus the demographic that would play the game on console wouldn't appreciate the hardcore melee combat in a game like Chivalry and finally if they were to make the combat more player skill focused like Chivarlry it would make stat based weaponry pointless and stat based weaponry is a vital component of an TES game and most RPGs. I'll accept the complaint that what you do in Skyrim doesn't affect anyone or anything for example when you defeat Alduin dragons will still spawn, the only difference is that npc's will have different dialogue.

    Skyrim is a game you will either love or find okay it all depends on if you can get over the shallow combat and if you're prepared to have to face the odd repetitive dull quest (if not just mod it).    … Expand

    i bought this game on steam for 7.49, one of the best deals I've ever made in gaming. The graphics, music, and environment of Skyrim is amazing and unique. The PC version works pretty well and even ran on my old laptop. The gameplay is fun and the world feels large and interesting encouraging exploration. The K+M controls of Skyrim were ok except when in dialogue or the inventory. The UIi bought this game on steam for 7.49, one of the best deals I've ever made in gaming. The gameplay is fun and the world feels large and interesting encouraging exploration. The K+M controls of Skyrim were ok except when in dialogue or the inventory. The UI is where the game really lacked. The UI consisted of blocky lists that were hard to navigate and manage. The quests were ok though some may be shallow and repetitive. The game also lacked on animations, and the bugs were plentiful. However, don't let these shortcomings deter you from buying the game as many of these problems (UI, Animations, and Bugs) can be fixed with mods.… Expand

They came up with the idea for paid mods. This ruined the modding community surrounding the game, and pissed off the entire internet. Fortunately for the consumers, Valve likes money and wanted to continue making money, so they cancelledThis game is a modding paradise.     This is one of my all time fave games. Elder scrolls games never fail to disappoint. An absolute masterpiece of epic proportions. I loved everything about this game. Despite all the bugs, such as not being able to progress in the mages guild as the quest NPC bugged out. I had so much fun and spent over 456 hours total playing this game. Would of scored 10 if it was not for the bugs.

    I'm just going to say, this game is wonderful. The soundtrack, graphics, combat, amazing. When it works. I have crashed and massive bugs can make your game experience horrid. Otherwise, this game is great. The story is very well written and keeps you glued to your chair the whole time. Free-Roam,oh man. Free-Roam is phenomenal. So many items and armor, and the beautiful landscape will makeI'm just going to say, this game is wonderful. The soundtrack, graphics, combat, amazing. When it works.     i found skyrim to be my #1 game on an island alone the story is not that good i liked playing it but it does not give you stuff like a normal rpg you have to find ores and MAKE your own stuff of course thats fine after the story theres a lot to do for say doing an assassin/theif class? join the dark brotherhood then do the mehrunes razor side quest! doing a warrior class? join thei found skyrim to be my #1 game on an island alone the story is not that good i liked playing it but it does not give you stuff like a normal rpg you have to find ores and MAKE your own stuff of course thats fine after the story theres a lot to do for say doing an assassin/theif class? join the dark brotherhood then do the mehrunes razor side quest! doing a warrior class? join the companions (which i never did) even if you completed ALL MISSIONS and ALL SIDE QUESTS theres still mods and i love to explore and find bandit camps and assassinate them with bows and daggers to level up my stats theres thousands of places to explore! theres alot of side quests i like walking around to find a bandit camp? a dragon might appear and a big battle will start after that courier might show up saying something theres alot of things to do but lets say you 100% completed the game what now? create a new save as an assassin class and be all assassin-y on people and if you have done ALL CLASSES and stuff thats possible go buy morrowind or oblivion get tired of oblivion go back to skyrim and a new class as an assassin/mage plus all dlc's… Expand

In this Elder Scrolls entry, we are sucked into the fantastically fantastical world of Skyrim, a world which Bethesda has masterfully crafted, with elegant craftsmanship being found in every tree, temple, dungeon, house, castle, etc. If you hadn't gathered already, this game is a joy to explore, with every dungeon, every bandit hideout, and every city holding its own unique mystery and excitement. In Skyrim,I wasn't forced to explore every nook and cranny in its vast open world, I wanted to explore every nook and cranny. The game never forces exploration on you, because it knows that you will be more than willing to traverse the world on your own. The combat in Skyrim is an improvement on the combat of previous entries to the series, with kill animations and an actually viable 3rd person camera. There are also many varied, interesting quests to be found throughout the game, as well as many dynamic random encounters to be found that will keep the game fresh after you've completed all of the quests. The skill trees are as diverse and in-depth as ever, and perks are a fun addition. There are a few problems though. As with many other Bethesda games, there are multiple bugs throughout the game world. While most of these bugs are mildly annoying, there are a few bugs which can be game breaking, although I myself haven't experienced any of bugs which significantly hindered my enjoyment of the game throughout the 200+ hours I have spent playing. Also, some of the dialogue is poorly written, as well as some of the characters, but most of the time the dialogue and characters are interesting and enjoyable. Overall, I have and will continue to truly enjoy Skyrim, and I highly recommend it to any fan of The Elder Scrolls, RPGs, video games or quality entertainment in general.… Expand

It has a cool, interesting story with the old fashion, bizarre prisoner opening setting, tons of cool, slick, unique weapons and armor, tons of books to read filled with detailed lore, great skill tree, much improved UI over Oblivion, improved leveling, much faster paced combat, and much more.

    The reason I gave it a 9 is because the AI can be so poor that it    Skyrim is freaking awesome. It has a cool, interesting story with the old fashion, bizarre prisoner opening setting, tons of cool, slick, unique weapons and armor, tons of books to read filled with detailed lore, great skill tree, much improved UI over Oblivion, improved leveling, much faster paced combat, and much more.

    The reason I gave it a 9 is because the AI can be so poor that it could be hilarious or very frustrating. Their pretty stupid. They get lost, walk into walls, die all the time, ect.. You should also buy it on PC if you can run it, which you should be able to as recommend is a GTX 260 which is pretty low by todays standards. It's better on PC for mods and WAY, WAY faster loading screens. This game is an eight on consoles just because it has a pretty low framerate and super long loading screens.

    It's worth getting for any system, but I recommend on PC for the reasons I stated earlier. Skyrim isn't better than Morrowind, but it does lift a bar so high that no RPG has yet to raise further.    … Expand

    But it have amazing open-world game mechanics, map is huge, you can talk to many npc and interact with them. Spells are fun, Shouting is awesome. I liked civil war and you can found many items, secret things and have fun with it.

The fighting is diverse but chaotic, you either sneak and kill the opponent in 1 dagger hit thanks to the maxed 15x damage multiplier, you cast a bunch of spells and hide behind your follower or you just slash your way through. The dungeons and their enemies become redundant. You can crank up the difficulty any time you wish, but at one point you will simply be too strong, even against opponents who're well above your level and the the incredible amount of side-quests become quite tedious after a while. The thing is, you won't notice these things after quite a while and at the time you reach this point you will have got more than enough happiness out of this game than most RPG series will be able to grant you! The insane amount of detail loaded in this game is a milestone and you will surely be able to appreciate it through the amazing voice cast, the beautiful graphics and the mighty Nordic, dark and cold, art-design and soundtrack. As for the story, the trailer (if trailer reviews were a thing, I'd give it a 10) made it sound more epic than it was. It certainly wasn't bad by any means, but I wasn't that enthusiastic for it, luckily there are enough other smaller stories in the game you can dig (honestly, I thought The Dark Brotherhood quest-line was better than both the primary and secondary main quest-line). All in all, the amount of flaws in Skyrim are easily forgiven by the incredible scope of it which make faults inherent.… Expand

    after lifting the payed mods you can look it up on steam its over with they won't be doing this anymore.

    I now feel they can have a good score I'm giveing it a 9 out of 10 but really the game is kinda lame by its self the mods are what makes it good

    Every Elder Scrolls game feels the same: They do everything really well, and one thing exceptional. This one is no different. In Morrowind, the story was what drove it for me. The leveling system was jenk, and combat was terrifyingly garbage, but Morrowind killed the story. In Skyrim, the leveling system was finally brought to where it was not as abusable (although enchanting iron daggers by the busload is still there), but I found the story to be the weakest yet, and the exploration was dulled slightly by running through the same environment with slight changes for hours upon hours. The enemies, although very well made graphically, suffered from the same monotony that the scenery does.

    All said and done though, this was still an amazing game. With plot that was more gripping it would have been a 10.    … Expand

    Came back to this due to the incoming special edition. As I used graphics mods, it felt like it was released a few months ago, and the gameplay didn't get old a tiniest bit. Elder Scrolls never ceases to amaze me.

    Gameplay
    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playing game, playable from either a first- or third-person perspective. The player may freely roam over the land of Skyrim, which is an open world environment consisting of wilderness expanses, dungeons, cities, towns, fortresses and villages. Players may navigate the game world more quickly by riding horses, or by utilizing a fast-travel system which allows them to warp to previously discovered locations .. The game's main quest can be completed or ignored at the player's preference after the first stage of the quest is finished. However, some quests rely on the main storyline being at least partially completed. Non-player characters populate the world and can be interacted with in a number of ways; the player may engage them in conversation, marry an eligible NPC, or kill them. . As in previous Elder Scrolls games, killing certain NPCs can make some quests or items unobtainable. Some NPCs cannot be killed. If witnessed, crimes like murder and theft accrue the player bounty points in each of the world's nine districts.     A perpetual objective for players is to develop their character. Attributes regenerate over time, although this process can be accelerated by using potions or regenerative spells. Stamina determines the player's effectiveness in combat and is depleted by sprinting, power attacking, and being struck by frost-based attacks.     This game is amazing. Very good storyline, replay value, soundtrack etc. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is the glitches because there are so many and at times can be frustrating.

    One of my most played games is Skyrim. Plenty of awesome content and stories. A few dull quests and bugs keep it back a bit.

    I only installed this game because of reputation for visual fidelity, and I'd just bought a new graphics card. Years later, I bought a true beast of a graphics card (AMD R9 390 8GB) just to play Skyrim, a game that originally cost me 10 UK pounds. I've never got very far in it to be honest, I travelled the 7000 steps just once. I've logged hundreds of hours, but mostly that was justI only installed this game because of reputation for visual fidelity, and I'd just bought a new graphics card. Years later, I bought a true beast of a graphics card (AMD R9 390 8GB) just to play Skyrim, a game that originally cost me 10 UK pounds. I've never got very far in it to be honest, I travelled the 7000 steps just once. I've logged hundreds of hours, but mostly that was just retreading familiar ground, after tweaking my mod setup again. At one point I'd broken the game so badly I had to re-install from scratch and took the opportunity to switch from NMM to Mod Organiser, and then S.T.E.P Advanced. Now I have over 500 mods and 240+ plug-ins.

    Fully modded, it is a breathtakingly beautiful game, of rare scope and ambition.Mods only add to that, it becomes a game of "what do you want to play?" I even lately started to watch a Role Played "Let's Play" on YouTube GamerPoets Channel. It's amazing in itself, as it doesn't feel like a game, more like watching a TV serial.

    As a game it's not what it was when it was released, but it has also become so much more. If you're a gamer, you owe it to yourself to play this, especially in modded form on a decent, (by 2015 standards) PC.

    I gave it a 9.0 as by default it does have bugs and it can be a bit unstable, though again with mods you can get it to behave, and spend hours playing without issue.    … Expand

    One thing to keep in mind when reading the negative reviews is that they were all posted within the same few days, about the same topic. "Paid mods". This is clearly an attack from some fool (or fools) who want that changed. These mods are completely optional and only further a story line you make yourself.

    Yes, Skyrim may have some annoying bugs and visual glitches, but the immeasurable amount of fun I have playing it is undeniable. Once you get sucked into the beautiful world of Skyrim, you will be lost there for dozens and dozens of hours.

    25 hours spent on this game. Was pretty good. Drawbacks are some glitches, some strange physics in the game when players are on mountains. On good side : scenario, history and what is behind the story, fights, freedom of movements. Good too to find it a 5sgd on steam. That's worth.

    One of my favorite games of all time. Even without mods this game has almost everything an RPG- Fan could ask for.

    A massive open world, decent combat mechanics, great story- and questlines.

    Graphics for a 2011 release are decent.

    The only thing i sort of dislike is the dumbed down skill system.

    If Skyrim had Morrowind´s skill system skyrim would be a 10/10.

This game is a great way to spend a few hours or less, having a virtual world to explore by your self makes you appreciate all the detail that went into the game design.     the reason i dont give skyrim 10 is because of lack of the story and repetitive gameplay.     one of the best games ever released, this game set a boundry for RPG games, it really creates a diverse and beautiful game for its time, and its remastered edition is no exception. Skyrim had one of the most fun worlds to play and explore, and I had an awesome time. One of the best systems and exploration.

The plot is well developed and has multiple engaging threads. There is the feeling of freedom as you choose to change the fate of a nation, or simply gather herbs. The gameplay is generally fun, though it can be underdeveloped and slow, I enjoyed using the bow and there is a varied selection to choose from. The RPG elements are well implemented, though they can be a little shallow. There are many different paths you can take for your character, you can choose to be an assasin (like me), a mage, or a warrior and be highly specified, or you can just do everything and be a jack of all trades. Overall Skyrim is a very fun and enjoyable game, though it has many bugs, but these can be overlooked for the engaging quests, great gameplay, and engrossing world.… Expand

    I'm so impressed by this game! I played it through several times on my 360, and since buying the steam version and DLC, I've sunk another 400+ hours into mods and various character builds. If you haven't played it, pick it up, try out a texture mod and play it through, you won't be disappointed.

    Skyrim has an amazing character creator where you can choose how your character looks. You can choose from a range of different races each with their different perks, for example a Khajiit for example, a race of cat people have increased damage in fist fights because of their claws and have a night vision ability. The game is very easy to pick up, with simplistic controls and varying modes of difficulty, as you progress the enemies you encounter become stronger with you and this keeps the game challenging even if you have reached a high level.
    If you have finished with the game as a whole and have nothing else to do you can install mods made by the community, from dinosaurs to making your own city, the possibilities are endless.

    This is my favorite game. I enjoy reading a lot of myths, legends, and fantasy, and this game made me feel like I was in one of my books. The only problem I have with it is that there are no combos. Not MK combos, I dislike those, but I wanted a fighting style similar to Kingdoms of Amalur. Otherwise, like I said, this is my favorite game.

    Skyrim is one of the best games, i have ever played. The dialogs are great, the leveling, the crafting, the gameplay and everything else. But the developers should have done more bugfixes so far.

    One of the best RPG games I've ever played. Sure, it's not perfect, e.g. the quests are sometimes repetitive and the main storyline isn't all that great, but the open world, freedom of choice and art style are excellent. I get why some people dislike Bethesda's style, but for me, it's something special.

    The Elder Scrolls series, as always, is a game that fascinates you with its wide open world, its graphics are quite sufficient for its year and its character development is a very enjoyable game. A must-play for those who love open world role-playing games and old fantasy themes.

    everything is excellent in it: atmosphere, music, gameplay, graphics, plot, but there are also are one disadvantage: bugs, they spoil the game but it's not critical and the game still is great

    A great game to lose yourself into, one of my favorites, a lot of good open world things like side quests and gameplay variety, skills and exploring and top notch and some of the best gaming has to offer.

    Suffers from:
    - bugs
    - bad combat
    - dumbed down RPG
    - bad story
    - forgettable characters

    Oblivion < Skyrim < Morrowind

    9/10 despite all the flaws, yea its that good, a must play.

    Great game, everyone has played this game on every console you can think of from the 360 to the switch, to the toaster, there isn't an electronic that doesn't have support for this game, and that's saying something, I have a few complaints but the first and foremost is that the battle system is basic as **** and it really shows, but everything else is top of the line.

    Uno de los mejores juegos que jugué en mi vida. Historia espectacular, un transfondo increíble y aunque tenga ya sus años todavía te sumerge en tu enorme mundo llamado Tambriel Recomiendo jugarlo con Mods de ambientación y gráficos ya que lo mejoran a gran escala
    Lo malo es que hay bastantes Bugs pero se soluciona con (como ya mencione antes) Mods

    Encounters with NPC´s feel lively and dialogues are well written, even tho the dialogue options are minimalistic most of the time, which can give you a feeling of restriction. The main-story is good, not great but definitely good, but the quests and storylines I enjoyed most were from the DLC`s. You feel important within those stories. You are a small piece of a bigger issue, trying to accomplish your goals, the outcome depends on your actions and it feels like you are climbing the ranks with every small step you take.

    The many different playstyles Skyrim offers vary from being a farmer living in peace and silence, over a wizard/necromancer with magic spells to a warrior who kills his enemies with sheer force or stealthy with intelligence and perfidiousness. Fighting can feel kind of dull in this game, but the many options how you level your character gives you a huge variety of different playstyles and you can just mix it up a lot.

    The game is kind of buggy sometimes- NPC´s running in walls, objects flying around, getting stuck and so on... Nonetheless even tho it has it´s issues it´s a great game. Overall this is a must-play game for every RPG/Fantasy-Fan and i would definitely recommend to play it!

    My all-time favorite game, the MVP of the RPG. But I still can't give it a full 10, because even ten years and a dozen ports later it's still a buggy messy. To me, it's been so long those are just beloved features. I still think it's a **** practice for a video game company to not bother to fix their own game if they're gonna re-release it that many times.

    Epic game! For RPG nerds. One of the longest living games I can think off, a great modding community which constantly 'updates' the game and turn it into something else. Look into Skyrim Together!

    Skyrim is a one-time experience, and it is a great one. they really **** that up with the paid mod stuff, but i think thats in the past now that they took it back

    - Система прокачки. Не вижу смысла в прокачке многих веток, по типу восстановления и красноречия. - Кривые анимации. - Озвучка не очень, по крайней мере русская. - Баги, их не много, но есть.     It's a super atmospheric game with satisfying mechanics and controls but is brought down by its extremely large number of bugs and glitches, overall amazing however.

    Sometimes I sleep soundly, have beautiful dreams, and then I remember that every merchant has a chest noclipping under them. Then I wake up with that fear and terror, that everything is fake and you can noclip through all materials. I start crying, beating myself over and over so this nightmare will end...

    The game is quite fun, tbh.

    Первый мой заход в скайрим затянулся часов на 5, хотя рассчитывал просто посмотреть пойдет ли у меня эта игра на старой видеокарте. Не идеальная, как продолжение или рпг, но как игра прекрасна.

    Unfortunately, Skyrim trips and falls on its own (most probably, to make the cool-sounding deadline of 11-11-11) and just before it reaches perfection as the ultimate specimen of its genre, it self-destructs in a crucial aspect of game design: the interface and the peripheral components (inventory, journal, map, etc)... but that is not to say that Skyrim is anything but a truly majestic, epic RPG that will suck you right in its cosmos.
