A virtuadoll named Regret has created the world of Redo in order to save people from their past regrets by unknowingly imprisoning them in a simulation. However, this "Paradise" is shaken to the core when a virtual idol named X breaks into Regret's virtual reality and restores a high school student's memories of the real world. In order to escape Redo, they form the Go-Home Club, a resistance group that seeks to fight against regret and her enforcers, the Obbligato Musicians.

The Caligula Effect 2 is far from unique. It wears its influences front and center and isn’t quite on the same level as any of the modern Persona titles. There are only a few of those, though, and if you’ve played them and want something more, then The Caligula Effect 2 is absolutely worth checking out. With an interesting battle system, appealing characters, and a killer soundtrack, I consistently had a good time until the credits rolled.

At theUnfortunately, this game feels like a recycled version of the first one with a lot of missing parts that made the first one great. At the start it did had a decent potential but halfway through it all fell down on it's face. The characters were pretty decent but it felt like the writers gave up by the end and provided them with a pretty ''meh'' realization. After the mid act the entire game felt rushed and that is too bad since there isn't that many focuses on the characters and their traumas which made the first one pretty good. The combat is the same as the first one and only the the side quests had a bit of an improvement. There are still long as hell corridors with enemies which just drains the little enjoyment you had for this game. The VA were fine but there were not really any memorable songs like the first one and that's really weak. Story also had potential but the twists that they gave at the end just felt rush and boring and generic as hell. Overall buy this if its 50% off and if you really enjoyed the first one just to be disapointed in this one as me. Expand
