I think Telmari is a game that could be amazing on mobile, it’s simple style and aesthetic seem perfect for small screens. The controls are also simple if your worried about them being confusing or difficult to work with.

What Telmari attempts, it generally does well! The gameplay is very well mastered, the speedrun aspect is well brought out while remaining attractive to more traditional players, and the basic concept itself is appreciated from one end of the adventure to the other.

This mileage will vary depending on your skill level, but regardless, it would have been nice for Telmari’s arrows to have a secondary skill, especially as Telmari won’t hurt a creature. It’s a game for the most patient among us and one that will go down well with speedrunners. It’s reminiscent of old-school platformers in both the best ways and the worst - simple to pick up, difficult to master. While I enjoyed my time with Telmari, it isn’t a game that will stand out in memory outside of its genuinely lovely visual design and early levels.

Telmari was a game I was excited to get stuck into, but the central mechanic doesn't lend itself to precision platforming and instead leads to frustration.
  5. If Telmari had any level of polish, then it’d be a fun, if simplistic, platformer, but that level of care hasn’t been put in. The result is a game that fails at its core purpose and is a mere echo of far better games.
