The game was so-so. Its maker has created better games (Telepath RPG 2, Telepath Psy Arena 1 & 2).

SoG had some nice features, such as a few powerful characters (Griffin, Arman, Rahel), cheat codes to make your game easier and a fascinating storyline starting with the main character escaping from his prison in order to save his parents and overthrow the evil government. Another character (Luca) had an interesting skill Juxtapose 2 that swapped positions between her and enemy troops, thus exposing them to your main damage dealers to deal backstab damage to them, while Set, a healer, had a skill that can boost both current and maximum health of your teammates nicely. You could even choose a new game+ that allows you to play the game at a higher difficulty while your characters keep their stats' and skills' levels.

The game however wasn't perfect and collecting money to level up your teammates is actually a messy story, as u had to start the game on Easy and keep beating the game all over again until you reach Nightmare (5th difficulty). A hgiher difficulty means slower progress, as training costs increase fast, while rewards you get from battles drop. There were actually only two areas with good rewards for winning battles (in Great Forest and Mechanics' Base -- the latter place requires from you to go through many puzzles until u finally find it). I only use the Hero and 2-3 other characters and it takes me a whole week to reach beat the game on Nightmare.

    - Number of allies: Only 10 peronalities to choose from. Your hero at TPA 2 had WAY more options for the team, as there were no limitiations regarding your teammates' class. Why doesn't SoG as well allow you to use a Dark Spriggat or a Shadowling Guardian?

    - Game balance. The only really powerful characters are your main Hero and the other 4 people that u meet at the start, meaning that there isn't much replaying value. Other characters just didn't have enough abilities to make up for their low dmg. Look at Qudssi - why can he use only his normal attack and doesn't learn another skill???

    - The number of quests that u get is SMALL. Where to start from? I really wish that u could go and murder more people after you join the Black Rose (where they send u to kill only one person and that was it). Or perhaps u should be able to choose Elan's side instead and fight that slave trader who asks you to bring Elan's head to him. On top of these, the game really had just one ending, making it boring.

As someone who enjoys playing turn-based RPGs, I wish Stern had included more stuff to SoG. And if possible fix the bug that reduces rewards for harder difficulties.

Totally over priced and rated piece of trash flash rpg. Add to that the FACT that the developer lives to delete ANY kind of non-positiveTotally over priced and rated piece of trash flash rpg. Add to that the FACT that the developer lives to delete ANY kind of non-positive feedback about their game and you have a recipe for hurt feelings and wasted $. The game itself is...pathetic, like i guess if there is such a thing as a flash rpg fan they MIGHT enjoy it..everyone else will see it as trash. Expand
