Game is impossible for me to play on Win7 because from what I can tell, the camera controls are borked due to driver the game not liking Win7 drivers.

To call Tacoma a game would be quite a stretch.
Like all other walking sims all you do "Playing" it is walking around learning tidbits about the story.
Story in which you have no stakes since it all ended before the game even began. In Tacoma you aren't an actor but just a spectator of other "people" stories and i find it quite boring. Even though the game's extremely short (finished

The story could be intresting but as i said you have no stakes in it.
The characters are quite bland. Gone home did a much better job by just focusing on ONE character instead of six.

I would not recomend Tacoma to anyone to be honest.

This game has two big problems: it's boring and ugly. The effect is somewhat reminiscent of a low budget System Shock 2 - sterile, grey environments and "ghostly" crew members - with all of the gameplay stripped out. There's no way to tell which items are significant, so you need to pretty much look at everything, just in case it's important.

The space station has a deliberately maze-like layout, presumably so you won't finish the game too quickly. I suppose this comes as no surprise as the game is from the developers of Gone Home, and the space station is just as unconvincing as the enormous, sprawling house in that game. But unlike the grounded setting and emotional storytelling in Gone Home, Tacoma's bland, poorly-realized sci-fi setting never really grabbed me.

Too short, and a ho-hum story.

I like walking simultors, and this game has been quite carefully crafted (even though Fullbright can't still develop a decent 3D engine; it stutters very often, albeit less than Gone Home), but the story is just not very appealing, primarily due to the narrative structure of developing a past event. At 20$, this game is excessively expensive. If you

At 20$, this game is excessively expensive. If you played SOMA, and expect a similar (great) experience, stay clear of Tacoma; if you didn't play it, then buy that one instead.

Very simple storyline. The whole game is stories about heroes of gays and lesbians. I do not want to be imposed on me in games deviant behavior of people. It is not normal.

I am a fan of 'walking simulators'. Soma, Life is Strange, and Rime are the best examples of the genre. I do not care if it is only a couple of hours long, or anything else as long as long as it has a good story and the environment is engaging.

I also normally do not care who makes the video games, but I have an issue when their politics affects the games that are made. Which is an

I also normally do not care who makes the video games, but I have an issue when their politics affects the games that are made. Which is an issue I have with this game, and it isn't surprising if you know the personality of the creator of The Fullbright Company, Steve Gaynor. Both Tacoma and Gone Home are terrible, not by design, but by the intent behind them: to push a political agenda. It wasn't as bad in Gone Home (the problem with that game was that it was marketed and sold as a horror game, obviously it's not), but judging by Tacoma, the company's future games will only be worse.

Do not support video game companies like this one and Beamdog, who care more about agendas than making good video games. (Beamdog's baldur's gate siege of dragonspear is absolutely terrible, even worse than Tacoma in pushing an agenda. Not to mention the content they added to an already amazing game (Baldur's Gate 2) is trash-tier fan fiction)

Ironically, the insufferably preachy founder Steve Gaynor got all it's cred from supposedly telling opproesed stories, has been outed as fostering a toxic work environment that drove women to leave his studio. A former employee compared working for Gaynor to "working for a high school mean girl. His go-to weapon was to laugh at people's opinions and embarrass them in front of other people."

This is a walking simulator - just like Gone Home. But it is primarily a political and social propaganda piece that is as ham-fisted as one could ever make. .

I could even forgive the pandering if it wasn't done so badly that I got annoyed and quit believing or caring about the characters after 20 minutes. And no, that doesn't make me a homophobe for calling out terrible plots, writing, and twisting an entire story around a social diatribe you want to shove down my throat. It's bad writing and I never finished it.

This ain't woke - it's tired old-school preaching. And we all quit listening to angry people that condemn others that don't agree with them a long time ago and for good reason. Go out there and find any one of a million other much better games to spend your time on.

I give ZERO score for every unity based title which claim "full controller support" and directinput controllers not handled correctly. "Developers" learn from ex. Layers of Fear, Syberia 3...

Tacoma a self-parody of ham-fisted wokeness. Social politics are poor basis for a video game.

Gone Home developers tackle the issue of corporate hell aboard futuristic space station. Unfortunately their sentimental style does not go along with the brutally down-to-earth (oh, the irony!) subject too well. [10/2017, p.67]

Walking simulators live or die by the strength of their narrative, and Tacoma gives away its main plot just minutes after you start playing it. It does have other secrets, but they aren’t worth your time.
