    Strangeland is an honest point'n’click adventure with elements of psychological horror with perfect dubbing that can't be confused with you. In his surreal world, you will encounter a thrilling unknown and a disturbing strangeness. The game does not throw sticks under your feet unnecessarily and thanks to the shorter playing time it can maintain a dense atmosphere.

    Strangeland is both a satisfying mystery and an atmospheric horror journey through a dark nightmare. Humor and tragedy collide to bring a literary experience for its players. Great puzzles, character writing, and multiple possible solutions give credit to its players while personalizing the path to one of the endings. Overall, Strangeland is a complete experience that masterfully balances grotesquerie and relatability.

    Strangeland is a remarkably interesting game for the fans of classic point 'n' click adventures. Undoubtedly, its short duration, combined with the relatively low difficulty of the puzzles and the somehow abstract ending, will probably make you doubt whether it is worth buying. But if you decide positively, be sure that this nightmarish journey will be unforgettable.

    The creators of Primordia offer us an exceptional point and click adventure game, with a spectacular staging and personal and deep story, which is a couple of steps behind the previous work of the studio due to how short it is as it is a smaller project.

    Whether or not you find the destination satisfactory, Strangeland’s journey is a joy. It dips into the grotesque without getting too in-your-face, and despite some downbeat and occasionally distressing themes, it’s uplifting in all the right places.

    A densely harrowing, unique experience that seems to have been engendered by the likes of Kafka or Beckett. After a replay it still grabs my throat and carries me away with the utmost subtlety, largely unparalelled in any media.
    One could argue that for a graphic adventure that relies on puzzles it doesn't present the (albeit challenging) most fresh or ingenious. Nor does it engage the player with tawdry tropes. Where it maybe excels is as a narrative vehicle, a maelstrom where level design and an unforgettable, stream-of-consciousness story melt together as if unborn and captivate both mind and heart. As a whole it remains one of the most imaginative, profoundly moving things I ever played. That it garnered so little attention only bespeaks a bias and an immaturity inherent to videogames and what surrounds them.

    I may sound hyperbolic, but I could never praise Strangeland high enough; I couldn't do it justice with 10000-words piece of prose poetry.
    It is a masterpiece. Just play it. The ride might be too intense at times, but you'll never regret it.    … Expand

    Point and click adventure games have fallen out of fashion in the last decade or so, largely because the people making them have bizarre, awful logic that makes puzzles a chore or too separated from the plot to make any sense. Thankfully, this game has none of those problems. The UI is quick and fluid. Items you find and use have multiple uses and aren't just "one time" throw away items. The combining of items in different ways allow the use of said items in a natural, logical way.

    I enjoyed the characters, the story, and the voice acting a lot. As I said before, this is a VERY dense game text wise. There are references/jokes/allusions to all sorts of classical literature, religious mythology, philosophical quandries, and much much more. It's a game that is fiercely intelligent and expects you to keep up. That being said, the overarching story and the revelation as to what "The Dark Thing" is felt a tad bit underdeveloped. Something really powerful could have been said here about love, life, loss, and self-hatred, but as it stands it didn't quite hit the emotional resonance I felt that it could have.

    Minor issues I had aside, it's still a damn tour de force of the genre.    … Expand
