Federations drastically enriches what was essentially the last still lacking aspect of the base game, that of galactic diplomacy. Undoubtedly one of the must-buy Stellaris expansions.

A much needed expansion which still doesn’t deliver some pretty important facets.

Stellaris: Federations is a solid addition that provides a new dynamic through any playthrough of your game, regardless of your playstyle.

Stellaris is going in a dangerous direction, even though this DLC adds some pretty cool things to its current state. The Origins are a fun addition, and federations are cool with their bonuses. The problem is the game is very quickly starting to become bloated, and with various changes, patches and more DLC, the "core"' of it all is rapidly being lost. It is losing its 4x status and slowly morphing into a type of MMO/RPR-type game that many of its original fans will likely not be a fan of.

Federations is one of the best expansions for Stellaris that we’ve seen and the impact is going to be felt for the rest of the life of the game, which being supported by Paradox means many years to come.

Again a bad DLC. Ind this is really bad, because it fleshes out a part of the game, that didn't work before and won't work with the DLCAgain a bad DLC. Ind this is really bad, because it fleshes out a part of the game, that didn't work before and won't work with the DLC either.

As soon as federadions will come into play, diplomacy and the game becomes boring and dull, because your diplomatic options are limited.

    A waste of money.
