    If you've never read Steins;Gate, or even a Visual Novel in general, due to Steins;Gate Elite's unique take on the genre I can't think of anywhere better to start. Steins;Gate Elite managed to combine the best parts of the original VN and its anime adaptation in a way that I genuinely thought was impossible, surpassing the original title in innumerable ways. While the original VN still has its place due to the much more organic inclusion of the phone trigger system, for every other purpose Steins;Gate Elite is now the de facto definitive version of the story. Even if you think you've already had your fill of the story, you might be surprised just how much the changes in Elite elevate the experience.

    Visual novel fans simply must play Steins;Gate at some point in their life. Whether it be the original or Elite is up to personal preference for the game’s initial artwork versus its totally animated visuals. Fortunately, animated scenes in no way hinder the excellent storytelling at work in the game. It expertly weaves scientific concepts, humor, drama and even horror together in one package. Thanks to Steins;Gate Elite, many more people will finally get to experience the incredible world of Steins;Gate for themselves.

    Steins;Gate Elite is the anime of visual novels (quite literally) if the original is the manga. Not that its a bad thing, but it feels better to watch the anime unless you wanna see the different endings. Now all this I said, doesn’t mean its bad. Its still the same masterpiece it is, but in anime format. The anime is one of the best I’ve watched and will always stick with me. But this VN lacks what made the OG great. I still recommend it if you wanna play S;G and don’t have a pc. But if you do have one, I’d recommend getting S;G over Elite.… Expand
