    Star Wars Battlefront II is an awesome game. Have really good game mechanics and perfect game mods. The minus of this game is that there is no Mace Windu, crates and this stuff is sometimes very annoying. The plus of this game is the graphics, gameplay mechanics, heroes and villains, except for Rey's skin. Since when did she have something in common with Skywalker.     Very good game, if you love star wars franchise and simply good, if you want to chill out. Game is similar to Battlefield. I liked Battlefront more actually.

    I bought this game 1 year after release and I think this was the best time to play. No microtransactions, many additional stuff (maps/characters) - even without buying a DLC - and full servers.
    One Problem is the hardcore grind to get more powerfull.

    Honestly, a lot of people hate on this game, but I do not think that it gets teh credit it deserves. Before I do get into this, do not buy this game if you are only into Single Player games, this is a multiplayer game.

    Battlefront 2 acutely demonstrates how good games can be buried under devious business practices. It's a solid multiplayer shooter with a serviceable campaign and can deliver a few of dozens of hours of fun.

    The shooting part of the core gameplay is finely tuned so that every shot has an impact without obscuring your view or hindering your movement, which plays nicely into how    Battlefront 2 acutely demonstrates how good games can be buried under devious business practices. It's a solid multiplayer shooter with a serviceable campaign and can deliver a few of dozens of hours of fun.

    The shooting part of the core gameplay is finely tuned so that every shot has an impact without obscuring your view or hindering your movement, which plays nicely into how fast-paced the game is. Lightsaber combat, on the other hand, feels floaty and lacks response, but that allows attacks to feel lightning-fast and easy to execute. Movement overall feels rather nice, while movement abilities, be it dodges, jetpacks, or droideka roll, are all fun and responsive to use. Gameplay differs drastically between characters, which obviously messes up the balance, but allows for diverse playstyles which fit different players or different moods. The loadout system expands the customization of how you play even further, and it never felt like making a huge gap between players. Transports are of varied quality, but they don't feel jarring or unintuitive to use. Maps are varied, featuring setpieces that emulate the Star Wars feels with uncanny accuracy, but there are a couple of weird choke-points and questionably long and convoluted corridors that might disrupt the pace of the match sometimes.

    As with the maps, the game overall looks and sounds surprisingly close to the movies, providing constant fanservice excitement. Outdoor environments are especially stunning in their realism achieved with the science-fiction art of photogrammetry.

    Campain is a pleasant surprise as well, providing a superficial but engaging story from a rare perspective in Star Wars canon. Characters are nothing to write home about, but they can be rather compelling at times. And the weakest spot, as per usual, is the mission and level design having trouble adapting the gameplay structure designed for multiplayer into a solo experience.

    While not being anything exceptional, Battlefront 2 is a great game that knows what it has to do and executes it very confidently. After cleaning up bugs and minimizing microtransactions and their impact on the game, DICE proved that if not tainted with the egregious monetization model, their shooters can be fun, indeed.    … Expand

    EA really did turn this microtransaction-filled cesspool into a masterpiece. Over the years, they've tweaked balancing issues, added tons of free content, and removed all microtransactions. With big multiplayer franchises like COD and Battlefield on the downturn, this is the most engaging multiplayer shooter of 2020-2021. It's quite sad seeing the user scores and Metacritic scores so low.EA really did turn this microtransaction-filled cesspool into a masterpiece.     POSITIVES: Battlefront II beinhaltet viele Dinge, die mir sehr gut gefallen. Als erstes wäre hier die Grafik. Diese ist zwar nicht die beste, aber dafür solide und passend. Etwas anderes das ich grossartig finde, wären die Unterschiedlichen Spielmodi, die es gibt. Meine drei Favoriten wären hier Helden VS Schurken, Totale Vorherrschaft und der Koop Modus. Es gibt aber auch einen Spielmodi, bei dem es möglich ist mit unterschiedlichen Raumfahrzeugen im Weltall zu fliegen. Die Steuerung des Spieles auf dem PC ist auch super und anpassbar. Die Figuren wirken real und es fühlt sich an, als würde man selbst in der Welt anwesend sein. So lässt sich Darth Maul oder Count Dooku genauso spielen, wie wir sie aus den Filmen kennen. Die einen Charaktere sind dabei eher agil, andere wiederum eher Tanks. Aber das Beste an dem Spiel finde ich, dass es sich so real anfühlt. Man lässt seine Umgebung komplett ausser Acht und taucht dabei in die Welt von Star Wars ein. Das ist EA tatsächlich gut gelungen.

    NEGATIVES: Leider fühlte sich Battlefront II zu Beginn überhaupt nicht so an. So war die Grafik 3x so schlecht, wie jetzt und die Menüs mit den Charakteren sahen auch komplett anders aus. EA machte auch den wohl dümmsten Fehler aller Zeiten. So war das Spiel zu Beginn nur Pay to Win. Die Karten konnten nur mühselig freigeschaltet werden (daher auch die schlechte User Bewertung). Dies ist aber Vergangenheit und mittlerweile glänzt das Spiel auch so gut, wie nie zuvor. Dennoch gibt es auch heute noch Dinge, die mir nicht passen wollen. So finde ich es komisch, dass Charaktere, die kauern so schnell laufen können, wie kleine Spinnen. Schade finde ich auch, dass es keine privaten Lobbys gibt. Ich würde gerne Mal ein VS mit meinen Freunden zocken.

    FAZIT: Battlefront II ist ein grossartiges Spiel. Jeden Monat kommen neue Inhalte ins Spiel. Das sind nicht zu viele Updates, aber auch nicht zu wenige (siehe Fortnite). Ich würde das Spiel jedem empfehlen, der gerne Shooter Spiele spielt oder ein tolles Star Wars Feeling erleben möchte. Ich weiss nicht, wie die Zukunft des Spiels aussehen wird, aber ich denke das dauert noch eine Weile, bis das Spiel eingestellt wird (Meine Spielstunden betragen 430h).     Very fun multiplayer game. Almost all maps and heroes are good. Game modes are good too except Starfighter assault, very boring game mode imo. I played 500+ hours in this game! This game is overhated imo

    Очень жалко что такая игра плохо начала, кто знает, чтобы было с ней сейчас, если бы в неё не ввели адский донат.    … Expand

    I love this game. Don't mind the micro transactions either. Best is that you can have maximum on all graphics settings on such an old game. Looks beautiful. May the force be with you!

    I really loved this game, so much! :) I got it for Christmas from my parents in 2020, for 19EURO, the DVD Box version. The DICE made a very great job, down with the hat, my appreciation! :) Awesome, incredible graphics, great atmosphera, the music, the sounds and the story, everything was great! :) Thank you so much for this game! :)

    Amazing graphics, precise gameplay mechanics, fantastic sound and a great story.
    You have to know that it is not one big story, instead there are various missions with there own story consistent with the overall SW story. I am solo player and the campaign is a little bit short. I have tried the multiplayer mode, but that is not my    Star Wars Battlefront II is one of the best SW games.
    Amazing graphics, precise gameplay mechanics, fantastic sound and a great story.
    You have to know that it is not one big story, instead there are various missions with there own story consistent with the overall SW story.

    It‘s great that ea show reaction ! Even with p2w it was fun but unfair . Now it got a new hype because its free on pc . It‘s not a Main shoter with its heros and battelpoints but its very fun . What a shamw That ea destroied the Hype from the game with p2w back in 2017 !

    Great game for the price ($0 on Epic). Love the fact that there's no loot crates or any of the pay2win nonsense that resulted in all the low reviews on launch. Too bad it wasn't like that at launch, but it's great fun now, especially progressing on multiplayer (usually in co-op mode). Haven't played PvP, but that's not really my thing... too many aimbots.

    After Disney slapped EA and DICE around a bit, they fixed a **** ton of stuff, they completely removed the pay to win systems and and now you just gotta play to get the good stuff, I don't think the this score is ever going to change but here we are, if you are a Star Wars fan you gotta get this game dude, it's so **** good (95% of the time).     Now that the drama about the loot boxes is long gone, people should accept that this is the best SW multiplayer game around. The locations, characters, vehicles and weapons are great representation of the movies and even the short singleplayer campaign is fun! There are still some heroes missing and other details could be improved, but nevertheless it's a great SW game!

    I have played about 5 hours and this game is sublime. The campaign will keep you glued to your keyboard and mouse. The Multiplayer is fun, overall it's a complete package. Well worth your money. Don't doubt the haters get it now.

They've fixed the micro transaction issues, there's at least 10 - 20 hours worth of co-op gameplay leveling up all the characters. There's a little bit of flexibility with the loadouts with some of the cards letting you swap abilities on spawn leading to adaptive gameplay. There's also aThis game is wicked hot.     This game is honestly good now. The single-player is not worth your time but the multiplayer is pretty damn fun. Other than certain sides having clear advantages in some maps this game is still good.

Сюжет мне сдался нудным, а вот сетевая игра разнообразная и интересная... до тех пор, пока на поле битвы не заявляется герой, который своими умениями разносит обычных юнитов налево и направо. Однако, я не считаю это минусом, ведь ты понимаешь, что если ты позже возьмёшь героя, то при должном умении это будет машина убийства, и такого рода "дисбаланс" мне по нраву. Хочу отметить красочность Батлфронта. Везде лазерные лучи, завораживающие пейзажи, декорации, карты - всё это захватывает. Кстати, надо упомянуть и блестящую оптимизацию, ведь при такой красивой картинке на среднем железе у меня практически нету просадок, на ультра настройках, которые игра выставила по умолчанию. Покупать ли её? Думаю стоит, но на скидках, цена на неё большая.… Expand

    Когда ее начали раздавать бесплатно а Epic Store я решил попробовать сыграть еще раз спустя 4 года с моего последнего захода. И знаете что? Я просидел за ней весь день. Шикарный мультиплеерный шутер. Я в восторге

    Battlefront 2 has really improved, they removed all micro-transactions, and its a really good game. Multiplayer and Co-Op is good and the story is great. Only downside of this game is that it gets repetitive and they should add more or switch up the characters a little.

    Ever since they made their fixes and updates, this game has really shined a new light and should get a second chance. In the beginning, this game was just awful. But that's because EA rushed it out. Now that Dice was able to make important changes to it, adding even free dlcs it has turned into my favorite star wars game. Through numerous updates they have lifted the game from a frustrating micro-transaction filled mess to a fun Battlefront game. The sequel era content is easily the worst, but the content in prequel and OT stuff is fantastic.     2020 Steam release, it is better than Battlefield V story wise, the story is a little short, you go from bad guy to good guy fast as the female special forces officer, but the thing is, they made the game feel sand-boxy even though it is linear, it still kept its fun for me. Multiplayer at times feels unbalanced, then at other times you are doing very well, aside from the guy on the top of2020 Steam release, it is better than Battlefield V story wise, the story is a little short, you go from bad guy to good guy fast as the female special forces officer, but the thing is, they made the game feel sand-boxy even though it is linear, it still kept its fun for me. Multiplayer at times feels unbalanced, then at other times you are doing very well, aside from the guy on the top of the leader board that seems to have a spammy level of kills....All in all I like it, will keep playing and hope more people join online, it isn't a counterstike experience with super fast spawns but it isn't anywhere near Battle Field V, where you die so fast and wait forever only to have to pick who to spawn on each time, or run ALLLLLL the way across the map again for an objective, at least in this game it seems to be 75% faster gameplay overall. To end it, I wish titles like this learned from games like Counter Strike and the success it has, because what people want is not super realism in mechanics and being able to customize all the time, they want environments that are small scale, fast, even if you do have a large map, it should be simple....left and right side of map, try to push one side or the other, or simply team slayer overall, game companies are missing the mark generally by trying to provide what people hate, the same way Halo MCC for PC ruined matchmaking by removing custom server choices, where if you want you can play the same map over and over and over again....that's why on steam their player base is non existent.… Expand

    The game got fixed and is now quit good. The multiplayer modes: Galactic Assault and Battle Scenarios are the best to level your characters. The multiplayer is relatively balanced, anakin is still a bit broken. The Single-player story is alright, but the NPCs are sometimes really stupid and just do nothing. The multiplayer modes: Galactic Assault and Battle Scenarios are the best to level your characters. The multiplayer is relatively balanced, anakin is still a bit broken. The Single-player story is alright, but the NPCs are sometimes really stupid and just do nothing. In Hero Showdown the dark side has much better Heros. A good General Grievous and Darth Vader are almost impossible to beat. The "Crawl" ability of Grievous is way too power full, if you spin on a enemy you can almost instant kill him. One of the most important additions to Battlefront 2 was the fact that the developers listened to what the players really wanted, including new blasters when fresh ones hadn’t been added since launch. Even though lightsaber combat feels a bit weird, the points system to unlock vehicles and heroes is much better than the hero token system of the 2015 version. Heroes and vehicles also manage to balance fun for the hero and the infantry they’re facing, and not upsetting either side of the argument.
    The singleplayer, unfortunately, wasn’t what most people wanted. The story starts out with the player playing as an imperial stormtrooper, but quickly goes back to the standard rebel gameplay. A few hero missions are mixed in, but aren’t really that interesting especially the infamous bug-fighting level. Overall, the multiplayer-focused game has a good multiplayer and a disappointing singleplayer, but that’s good enough for most players.    … Expand

    This game has massively changed since it's controversial launch. Microtransactions have pulled a Houdini and dissapeared completely, leaving a very fun multiplayer shooter, that anyone can enjoy without popping open a wallet.

    At launch this game was a 2 out of 10. now finally after all the tweaking etc it is an epic game. is a massive shame they didn't get it right first time (well really second time as the stuffed the first game's launch but in different ways).

    I know this game has had a rough start. But in mid-2019 it turned and became one of the best Star Wars license games I've had in a long time. An absolute must-buy for every Star wars fan.

    The game has grown since its initial launch back in November 2017. Battlefront 2 has gotten much content that has helped the game grow.
    It has become an enjoyable multiplayer game for star wars fans like my self. Its also gotten cheap and is often on sale.

    P.S Don't bother with the campaign its trash

    Plenty of good (often non-EA) games at a reasonable price. I will enjoy plenty of games, and would only buy favorites I want to keep, and even then I get a discount... So for me, that sub looks like a good deal and for subscribers this game worths the time spent downloading it.

    This game has certainly redeemed itself since launch. The game constantly has new updates that adds content that only makes the game more engaging and fresh. The combat is sleek and the many classes (especially for the clone wars era) are all fun in their own way. If you want a game that makes you feel as though you are in major Star Wars battles, then this is the game for you.

    I now this game is not start good but DICE never give up on this game and finally it's a great game. DLC's are so good and all of them are free, game mods is great and fun, graphics are spectecularly good. After 2 years later this game worth your money now.

    After a rocky start 2 years ago I'm glad to see Dice was able to put effort into reviving this game with exciting additions and completely overhaul the progression system so if you never had the chance to play or refused to play I recommend to get this game now!

    I don't care what people say, I like this game. Great action, amazing visuals, being able to play offline, and a semi-competent campaign style mode. It can feel repetitive at times, but I'm fine with that. If you play it just an hour or two at a time, It won't be repetitive. Overall it is a pretty good game.

    This game is so much better than the previous one. It has breathtaking graphics, funny multiplayer, lot of maps and characters, updates. It's not the good ol' Battlefront 2 (2005) but it's decent game, that i enjoy playing. :-)

    After the Launch Disaster and the following Backslash I can really recommend the Game. At the Current Time they removed all Lootboxes, balanced the Progression System and also released some new Heroes, Maps and other Features while also working on future Updates for at least the Duration of 2019.     Now, i have picked the game for about 25$, because i kinda liked the previous title, and mainly ignored the 1.1 user review score that was given here. Now, more than 200 hours into the game, i guarantee you    I first picked up BF2 from Origin at about mid 2018.
    By this time, the loot box controversy was addressed and all of the P2W elements were replaced by a new progression system.
    Now, i have picked the game for about 25$, because i kinda liked the previous title, and mainly ignored the 1.1 user review score that was given here.

    Now, more than 200 hours into the game, i guarantee you that this game doesn’t deserve the huge backlash it received, for a number of reasons.
    First of all, this is not the first nor the last game to use micro transactions. In fact, after the new progression system patch, the game has become the only game i know that you can access fully without having to pay a dime. (Free DLC - where can you find that?)

    So with that said, ill explain what are the pros and cons from the perspective of a CASUAL gamer, cause if you are a competitive type of feller, i am afraid that you will be better avoiding the game, or trying to understand that it isn’t meant to be a competitive shooter of some sort.

    First of all, the multiplayer.
    There are plenty of modes, that some of them may appeal to you and some may not at all.
    For example, i never play the Starfighter mode, simply because i dont like it, not because its bad or anything.
    There are other modes, bigger and smaller, such as Blast which is basically team death match, Galactic Assault which is biggest one, and simulates a battle between two enemy factions based on different objectives for each map. Its a very dynamic mode.
    Another new big mode which is my favorite, is Capital Supremacy, which i will not get into details of, but check it out cause its cool.

    Also a favorite of mine, are the Hero Showdown (which is great if you have a friend willing to coordinate attacks with you) and the Heros VS Villians modes, which are very casual fun modes (pretty unbalanced, however) that shine because of their accuracy to the SW movies and are very appealing to people who like the SW universe of characters, and lets you play as iconic ones such as Obi Wan, Vader, Palpatine and etc. in a sort of power fantasy manner.

    Overall the multiplayer modes are very nice, fun, lore accurate and chaotic while calculated, even if somewhat unbalanced and a bit buggy, which makes the game not very appealing to hardcore gamers,

    The gameplay has improved drastically over the last title, and is appropriate for a triple A shooter however it may take some getting used to.

    There is also a campaign mode, that i would look at as a nice bonus for the true Star Wars fans who will appreciate a nice cameo of an iconic character here and there. The story won’t win any awards, but is nice to have,

    A huge pro that this game has is its visual aspect.
    Now, say what you will about EA, but they sure do know how to make their games look fantastic.
    Search for photos and you will understand what i am talking about; all the models and assets are near 100% accurate to the movies and look even better than the CGI from Episode 1 , for instance.
    All of this while performance is great, i have a graphics card from 2012 which runs the game on almost max settings and a stable 60 fps, and loading screens have been improved and are now very short if you have a decent CPU and an ok hard drive.

    I think that by this point the game has a lot of content, with a lot of maps, heros, and modes, and the game’s biggest con is the poor balancing in some of the modes. Also, despite the fact that the game received overall decent support since it’s launch, there are some things that could make the game a far more appealing experience, such as private matches, that are being asked for a long time and yet to be added. That is why i am conflicting with myself how i would rate this game, because on the one hand, it’s a really impressive and most of all fun game, but on the other it lacks some things that could make it a lot better.

    It is worth saying that as far as community goes this game has a relatively large and nice community and 2 great community managers that do everything they can to bridge between the dev team to the players, which is worth pointing out.

    The game costs currently around 7 USD, and for me it was worth my 25$, so watch some gameplay and do what you will.    … Expand

    This game is great. All you haters need to investigate the cost of developing AAA-games these days and understand how the industry need to look into ways of financing the level you expect. MTX might not be the way, but it¨s better than many other models.

    Im sad that Metacritic become same dump as Steam Reviews. If you look on negative reviews, all were made in day of release or even before and they all scream "pay2win sux". Yes it does, but they removed it, so people should remove or change their review.

    As I said. If you are SW fan, buy this game. It can be bought now for 40euro which is definitely good price for 8 hour Star Wars interactive movie.
    If you love SW world, if you low SW characters dont skip this game. It have great interesting campaign between Ep6 and Ep7.    … Expand

    Gameplay, which is essential is probably the best of all Star Wars games - heroes feel really like charactes from Star Wars, not to mention brilliant starfighters gameplay or basic soldiers. This game feels immersive and rewarding with high quality graphics included. Free DLCs are coming in shortly and I would even pay more for chance of experiencing more of game's world. People keepGameplay, which is essential is probably the best of all Star Wars games - heroes feel really like charactes from Star Wars, not to mention brilliant starfighters gameplay or basic soldiers.     I'm really enjoying the game. It's gorgeous. Servers are full and it's quick to join. The campaign is fun. Pay to win is gone. Why all teh negative hype for a fun game. It's also 40% off. Worth it at that price for sure.

    Games is AMAZING.
    Stunning graphics. Great gameplay and Star Wars feeling.
    It's much better than Battlefront 1. Content is much bigger and space combat is way much better. It feels like You're in Star Wars movie.

    Its better than Darkforces 2, and that game used to be the best SW game we ever saw.
    Ppl need to chill, and understand that not everything is going to be given to them for free.

    And even then, the lootboxes are easy to get and it showers you in them

    I like this game and EA shows reaction! People are complaining about everything! It is very dumb judging this game only by micro transactions. There was no "real" pay to win and you aren't even forced to buy credits with your real money. So get over it and stop bashing a game without even testing and getting an objective opinion!

    Some good things:
    free DLCs and updates. classes are good. gameplay is good. modes are good. microtransactions removed. some bad things: even throught that the microtransaction were removed the loot boxes are in game. campaing story is good but it is like in every multiplayer game, the campaing is more like tutorial with some story. so yea good game    Good game with big problems

    In the present condition this game deserves a 8-9. But I give a 10 because of the many stupid and unrealistic "0"! The game delivers georious graphics and sound, great gameplay and a lot of fun. It's simply one of the best multiplayer shooters out there and a lot better than BF1, what was very boring. Yes, EA is greedy and the lootbox system was to much, but it doesn't make the actual gameIn the present condition this game deserves a 8-9.     Please, do not listen to all of those “pay-to-win-made-me-score-this-game-zero” whiners. I did not spend a single penny on in-game puchases. And I definitely do not feel overrun by those who did.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like the changes they made to Battlefront I and I don't feel it's a "pay-to-win" game, you're not required to pay any additional cent and can still unlock everything.

    Most heroes are unlocked by default and some have to be unlocked for in-game credits you earn by playing multiplayer, arcade or campaign.
    Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker for example can be unlocked for 15.000 credits which is the most expensive price heroes can have, others cost 10.000, like Chewbacca or Emperor Palpatine.
    Roughly after my first 10 matches in multiplayer I would have been able to get Darth Vader for what I earned, yet I did rather purchase Trooper Crates instead since I get to use Troopers all the time.

    You can purchase ingame "crystals" for real money, which in turn can be used to purchase Loot Crates ingame, yet they can be purchased using credits you earn by leveling up your overall rank, completeing milestones(achievments), playing the arcade or playing the story campaign.
    Especially in the beginning you will accumulate big amounts of credits fast for the lower levels are reached faster, the typical milestones (achievments) like "Capture an objective in a multiplayer map." will give you credits as reward as well.

    Other than purchasing crystals, which can be spent on the 3 different types of Loot Crates "Trooper Crates", "Hero Crates" and "Starship Crates" there is nothing else you could possible purchase with real money and these can be earned by playing as well, that's why I don't feel microtransactions make up an important part of the game.

    To move the focus away from flaming about microtransactions here are some details about the actual game:

    There is a short story campaign, which will ultimately leave you behind thinking about what's going to happen next in the upcoming movie in decembre 2017.
    It is a linear story starting during the last of the original trilogy from the '80s - Return of the Jedi - and ending after the most recent one from 2015 - The Force Awakens.

    The actual game, multiplayer, features several different gamemodes, which are:

    Galactic Assault (40 Players): Battle on a series of team-oriented, objective-based maps. Visit iconic locations, pilot favourite vehicles, choose from among four trooper classes, call in special units, and be a hero.
    Starfighter Assault (20 Players): Two teams of pilots take control of fighters, bombers, interceptors and hero ships and engage in multi-stage, objective-based space battles.
    Blast (20 Players): Blast invites players to leap into fast-paced, close-quarters combat.
    Strike (16 Players): Two teams of eight players compete in objective-based scenarios.
    Heroes vs. Villains (8 Players): STAR WARS' greatest characters pitted against each other in a four-on-four team battle.

    There are plenty of new vehicles you didn't see in Battlefront I and even some rideable creatures on some maps, no more pickups spread across the map instead you need to earn battlepoints throughout the match, by killing opponents and playing the objective, which can be used to spawn as a hero, special unit or in a vehicle.
    I felt the heroes are a little less powerful than they used to be in Battlefront I, or harder to play, rather.
    The Separatists and their droid army are now a playable faction including their vehicles.
    The one thing I was missing most of all in Battlefront I is now included: Master Yoda!

    The other playable heroes are:
    Boba Fett
    Bossk
    Chewbacca
    Darth Vader
    Emperor Palpatine
    Han Solo
    Iden Versio
    Kylo Ren
    Lando Calrissian
    Leia Organa
    Luke Skywalker
    Darth Maul
    Rey

    Each of them can be equipped with up to 3 star cards once you unlocked them by opening Loot Crates.

    The 4 basic Trooper Classes are:
    Assault
    Heavy
    Officer
    Specialist These are the playable artillery type vehicles: AT-AT MTT LAAT Gunship U-Wing Gunship These are the playable armoured vehicles: AT-ST AAT AT-RT These are the playable speeders: T-47 Airspeeder LIUV X-34 Landspeeder Speeder Bike Stolen LIUV These are the playable fighter starships: TIE/LN Fighter ARC-170 N-1 Starfighter TIE/FO Fighter Vulture Droid T-65B X-Wing T-70 X-Wing These are the playable interceptor starships: V-Wing RZ-1 A-Wing RZ-2 A-Wing TRI-Fighter TIE/SF Fighter TIE/IN Interceptor These are the playable bomber starships: BTL-A4 Y-Wing BTL-B Y-Wing Hyena-Class Bomber TIE/SA Bomber As with the heroes all of the above mentioned can be equipped with up to 3 star cards. Every Star Card you own has 4 ranks - common, uncommon, rare and epic - which determines how efficient the starcards effect is. You can improve your starcards you the next rank by spending materials you earn similar to credits. Each Trooper Class, Hero, Hero Vehicle and each Vehicle-Class has a star card rank that is equal to the amount of star cards you own for that class plus 1 for each additional rank on your star cards.    … Expand

    I would have given it a little higher of a score, the microtransactions were BS (wonder if they'll come back with just cosmetics as it is in the game, but hidden/taken out, not that I support that idea of cash for that as well), but glad they took them out for the time being, yes there is a bit of a grind, but there is a ton of fun to be had in the game. Visually, the game is stunning to play, controls feel pretty tight. The single player campaign was a fascinating addition, great little story to add to the new SW post-EU universe.     On the negative
    - Graphics look about the same (which means they look great) yet seem to require better hardware (so maybe this is a negative). Prior to upgrading my video card SWBF2 did not perform as well and SWBF yet when i upgraded my video card and play at max setting I can not see the difference in improvement.

    - Seem to be less ambitious with the various multiplayer modes. Gone are the blended modes that mixed space flight with ground action.

    - The drama from the gaming community is worse than the thing they are complaining about.

    EA and Star Wars is just a hot button topic for the gaming community. But this mob mentality and complaining about greed and "evil" publishers has simply gone too far. You can simply ignore the microtransactions and eventually everyone will have unlocked the most impactful upgrades so its sort of a moot point.    … Expand

    This game has amazing graphics and gameplay. I had to make a Meta Critic account just to support the true value this game still has, since most people. Now that the P2W system is gone for sometime, The game has opened up many opportunities. However, I had to give the honest 9/10 rating, because EA is still a horrible company that ruins great games. They ruined this Battlefront 2 beyond repair, because they thought that massive paywalls and micro transactions would be accepted by the community like the dumb people they are. However, grinding has been proved to be much easier, as unlike the original 40 hours, it now only takes 4 hours to unlock Vader and Luke, and less for the others, and grinding is no longer as hard. However, the prices of the loot boxes, the amount of credits gifted by matches still need to increase, for people should not need to spend any more than 2 hours unlocking their favorite heroes. Shooter experience needs to be revamped to match that of iconic shooters such as CoD and Battlefield. But of course. EA will never listen to us. They will continue to release more good games like this then completely screw them up with stuff like micro transactions. This game had potential to outdo all the previous battlefronts. EA had that chance, and screwed it up. Still buy the game, as most of the negative ratings are still based off of the micro transactions and paywalls, which have been removed, and since unlocking heroes takes only 4 hours instead of 40, this game has become much more bearable for me.… Expand

Now that the easy route to acquire cards has been removed... these same gamers are complaining that it takes "too long" despite everyone now on the same playing field. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Upon last inspection, the loot boxes don't include skill or gaming instinct.

    This doesn't lay at EA's feet alone. DICE needs to shoulder some of this as well. EA says: "Have MTX so that your game has some long term revenue sources." DICE is who designs the system.
    EA doesn't have anything to do with that other than saying "It should have MTX." There's a significant amount of engineering and design behind the star card system, it's not like EA can just shove it in there. It's unfortunate that those who don't actually know what it takes to fund, make, and sustain these games we all love so much had to go and tarnish the great reception that awaited this game. Rather than outright boycott MTX because it exists, provide feedback on what you'd like to see in the MTX instead. The free DLC and lack of a season pass far outweigh the cost of players buying loot boxes. Like it or not, MTX is necessary for a healthy and thriving games industry to keep producing the hits that you crave. (cosmetic or otherwise.)

    World of Tanks, Football, Hockey, and Soccer Ultimate Teams, Battlefield 4+... where was the outrage then?! Just because it's a beloved franchise like Star Wars? You all think it's YOURS, and you OWN it? Please stop parroting what you're hearing about gambling, unlock times, the death of the industry and all the noise out there. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride

    Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

    Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
