Nov 22, 2017This game is just meh its fun when you're the avatar but the rest is mediocre. the customizing is super fun but the non-avatar or team stages are super boring especially the classic stages they suck compared to mania.

Jun 11, 2020Sonic Forces is for me - Sonic's fan, painfully average. When i realy enjoied this non stop action in beautyfull graphics and realy good music there comes linier level design, underdeveloped compared to Sonic Generations controlos and annoying, cringe storyline. It hurts this game.

Nov 15, 2022The game is polished, it doesn't have many bugs, the presentation is nice.
Unfortunately that's all the positive aspects. The game is INCREDIBLY bland, lacks any substance, feels uninspired and unoriginal and boring. It's not bad... but it's not good either.
This is truly one of the games of all time, and nothing more. -

Game World Navigator MagazineMar 2, 2018Only the nostalgic levels really work, but if you want another run across cult classic Green Hill Zone, you can always launch Sonic Mania that came out back in August. [Issue#226, p.59]
-
CD-ActionFeb 8, 2018Sonic Forces’ few merits (like the soundtrack) are not enough to offset primitive gameplay, crude level design, poor pacing that completely obliterates the sense of speed, and the script that resembles a fanfic. [01/2018, p.42]

Jan 18, 2018I won’t pretend that Sonic Forces is a disappointment – it telegraphed its kitchen sink approach to content a long time ago. Desperately trying to please every kind of Sonic fan, it is every bit the mishmash of half realised ideas vying for your attention that it seemed like it would be. I guess I just never expected that their attempts to hold that attention would be so feeble.
