Play MagazineThe visuals have their respective platforms humming at their storybook best. [July 2004, p.72]
-
PC GamerDefinitely a kids' arcade game with the extreme simplicity of a console title, Shrek 2 offers enough comic mischief to make children love the big green guy all over again. [July 2004, p.58]

This thing is damned short. If anyone over the age of 15 puts in more than four hours into this, it either means theyve left it on and forgotten about it, or theyre supplementing the play experience by simultaneously experimenting with stem cell research.
-
Shrek 2 provides comedy similar to the movie, but gameplay that is stuck in the swamp.
-
Shrek 2 for the PC is strictly for kids, though considering its clunky controls and short running time, it's not even a terribly good game for them.
-
It's really really bad. There's simply no other way to describe this product. In fact, playing it makes me like the movie less.
-
With none of the original voice talent from the movie, you're likely to find very few laughs and almost none of the heart you saw in the theatres.

Jun 11, 2023Shrek 2's humor and voice acting are spot-on, but the gameplay is shallow, short, and lacks depth. A game only for younger audiences.
