    The sound and music is also Addictive, often intensifying the tension and excitement of the game’s different levels. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a welcome addition to the series, offering a thrilling adventure with impressive peaks and challenging valleys. Overall, it’s a great game and well worth checking out.

    I've never had particularly strong feelings about the Tomb Raider games. I didn't own a PS1, and those games looked kinda crappy anyway. I played the 2013 game on PS3 for that one month that I got Playstation+ for free for the 2011 hack, and I didn't hate it.

    But my goodness, this game is bland. I just don't have much in the way of positives to say about this game.     But my goodness, this game is bland.

    I just don't have much in the way of positives to say about this game. I suppose the game plays well on my PC, which shouldn't be an issue at this point, but we all know how PC ports tend to fare. Voice acting is pretty good I suppose, but a lot of the dialog is kinda cringey.

    That's about it, folks.

    The game doesn't look particularly good, especially considering it came out AFTER Horizon Zero Dawn. I mean, I didn't love HZD, but I could at least look around at the world and marvel at it. Lara's face in particular teeters on the edge of uncanny valley; her plastic skin and emotionless eyes just feel uncomfortable. I'd expect a Tomb Raider game - arguably one of the biggest franchises in the world - to look better.

    The gameplay is almost a copy paste of HZD's, which is probably a copy of some other game, but the point is that it's getting kinda old. Grab some branches and junk on the ground, make arrows, shoot arrows into dudes' heads.

    WAIT WHA- SHOOT ARROWS INTO WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??!?!

    And this is the part that felt the strangest of all. It's not like some killing dudes is so unusual for games. It doesn't feel all that strange in games like Uncharted, or even HZD, but here I'm 5 minutes into the game, and Lara just freakin shivs a man to death, then headshots another seconds later, picks up his gun and fookin mows down 10 guys. It's uncomfortably savage, and makes her feel like a murderous sociopath. A bit later there's this big action setpiece in a typhoon/tsunami, and Lara witnesses a child falling to their death. She barely reacts to it, and just a minute later in a cutscene she's all like "WE GOTTA DO OUR MISSION, LET'S GET TO THE CHOPPA" - in a monsoon, no less. How am I supposed to feel sympathy for a character who shows none for a literal child? Sociopath Lara constantly shows up throughout the game. That moment when a father thanks me for murdering a bunch of gangbangers - played completely straight, mind you - is oddly off putting. I mean, yeah, Lara objectively improved his life and saved his son, but I'd be pretty terrified of a complete stranger going on a murderous rampage for my child. The disregard for bad guys' lives is wild, and yet, AND YET, in the final moments of the game, after finally taking out the big bad, the game stops and has the gall to try to make us feel bad for him.

    On some level, if the action was great I wouldn't get hung over this part so much, but it's really not, and the game really leans hard into the story-telling bits. And since the story's not all that interesting, it tries to lean into its characters. But Lara kinda sucks. There's this sidequest where Lara has to meet up with people who have been shunned from society, and she has to tell some dude what she's learned from interacting with them. Her response is some Tony Robbins self-help garbage. I couldn't believe such bargain bin level inanities could make it into a [Captain Sterling voice] tRiPle AaA [/Captain Sterling voice] video game, but that probably says more about me than the industry, really.

    The truth is, writing this review, it made me appreciate Horizon Zero Dawn more. If you absolutely have to play an open-world adventure game with arrow-based action and crafting, just go play that instead. HZD has a better, bigger open world, that's less linear and railroaded. HZD's story is better, the action is better, the heroine is better, there is more arrow and weapon variety, the upgrades are more interesting... The only thing Tomb Raider has going for it would be the tomb and crypt puzzles, but if you want to do puzzles get a puzzle game instead.

    Thank god for free games on the Epic Store, I'm glad I didn't pay for this.    … Expand

    Worst of the trilogy we had maybe they have ran out of ideas ? The story is one of the most predictable stuff I can come up with the combat doesn't fell really good and the underwater stealth sections are the killers. I liked the tombs we had and some side quests were actually decent but if you ask me about the game and it's story I would not be able to tell you because only Jonah isWorst of the trilogy we had maybe they have ran out of ideas ?     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Przyjemny kolorowy dżunglowy klimat to było to, czego brakowało mi od pierwszych odsłon z 1996 roku. Ta odsłona niestety, mimo przyzwoitej fabuły oraz otoczenia, nie była dla mnie polaryzująca. Ewidentnie mimo olśniewającej grafiki zabrakło tu tego czegoś, co miały poprzednie tomb raidery. Zaznaczam oczywiście, że nowa seria nie jest zła, ale jest lekko ponad średniej, porównując ją do klasyków. Daję 7 za poziom graficzny, mechanikę oraz trochę za fabułę.… Expand

    It's both beautiful and boring, but even more boring... The tempo problem is really overwhelming. Better gameplay should have been given with these beautiful graphics.

    This game is a dissapointment on the trilogy while it keeps the amazing graphics of the second one the history is way worst and the ending is mediocre.

    The tombs were more fun than previous games. The tomb puzzles were better. The hint system was better.

    The story was more involving and actually made sense compared to the previous stories. They improved Jonah's character as well.

    The city was better. Graphics were better.

    There was a much better variety of gameplay.

    Meanwhile the plot is way too far-fetched and makes zero sense, I still had some fun on this one.
    The graphics were kinda ok, beautiful landscapes and all but the characters weren't pretty and were lacking variation. Even Lara's face had some weird renders, especially in the in-game photo mode.

    Am frühen Anfang und kurz nach der Mitte bis Ende hat mir das Spiel am meisten Spaß gemacht, ich empfehle für den maximalen Spielspaß einfach durchzurennen, die schnelle Action kann man sich durchaus geben. Ich habe leider wieder jede Ecke abgesucht und am Ende gemerkt, dass ich nichts davon gebraucht habe, in dem Sinne, dass es mir das Spiel erleichtert oder einen Vorteil vorenthaltenAm frühen Anfang und kurz nach der Mitte bis Ende hat mir das Spiel am meisten Spaß gemacht, ich empfehle für den maximalen Spielspaß einfach durchzurennen, die schnelle Action kann man sich durchaus geben. Lara ist eine wundervolle Frau und man kann einen Teil aus ihrer Kindheit spielen, das hat mir sehr gefallen, vor allem mit der heutigen Grafik. Ob es jetzt der schwächste Teil der Reihe ist kann ich nicht genau sagen, jeder hat seine eigenen Vor- und Nachteile, ich fand in diesem Teil der Trilogie das Kämpfen am allerbesten, das war in Rise am ungenausten, dafür fand ich die Story stärker und Teil 1 hatte irgendwie die beste Balance zwischen allen Punkten. Ich würde es spielen wollen, wenn ich es noch nicht hätte.… Expand

    The only thing that is improved in this game is the sound of guns shooting but everything else from the story to the character designs for the main 2 is worse the game was so boring and infuriating to play at one point I quit and never played it again

    A very bad conclusion to the trilogy. The game was a lot worse as compared to the previous two titles. Even with the story, graphics and side quests. The tribe section was horrible. I hated literally every character in the tribe, especially that kid. 4/10.

    Lara has no motivation, they don’t explain to us why she needs these artifacts, how she found out about them and how she got here at all, there are practically no new mechanics, shooting is disgusting, enemies are stupid like felt boots, Lara constantly has bouts of idiocy, she often hysterias and generally leads acting like a dumb dignitary, there are A LOT of cliché moments, the tombsLara has no motivation, they don’t explain to us why she needs these artifacts, how she found out about them and how she got here at all, there are practically no new mechanics, shooting is disgusting, enemies are stupid like felt boots, Lara constantly has bouts of idiocy, she often hysterias and generally leads acting like a dumb dignitary, there are A LOT of cliché moments, the tombs have become absolutely uninteresting, very monotonous and the rewards for passing are absolutely useless and useless to anyone, almost all skills are useless because they are directly or indirectly related to the combat, but only in the game the combat is almost never used , there are almost no action scenes in the game, the whole game is some kind of corridor and the feeling that this is one location, an absolutely idiotic concept of a secret city, which is located in the most prominent place where oil has been extracted a couple of kilometers and have been excavated for 400 years and traders who they sell new guns, while they themselves use primitive ones. In short, this is **** I absolutely do not recommend it, and it would be even better if you don’t go through it at all, it’s not worth it, don’t spoil the opinion about the franchise with this terrible project!… Expand

    Sorry, this game feels like mix of a walking simulator with some quicktime events and a bit of minimalistic survival shooting. But nothing done right.

    Tomb Raider was personal because it was personal. But now it’s come full circle to yet another vapid videogame character muddling through bad writing, rote familiar gameplay, and fewer features than the last time. Wake me when the next reboot is here.
