A mix of wholesome friendship, murder and mayhem like no other, Saints Row is a riotous blast that entertains for hours on end.

Saints Row is a quite cool game, throwing players into a sandbox while giving you cars and guns to start messing around. There is only pure fun here, perfect for passing the time, looking for some depth of play and plot? Sorry, wrong game. Although this reboot removed the superpowers, it seems to want to take the game back to before it was confused by the demons of hell, the Matrix, aliens, and much other chaos. But when people find that these saints do not rely on superpowers to make trouble, and start to beat people with fists and iron bars, will they find them not interesting enough again?

Saints Row is not really what we can call a total reboot of the saga, but rather a soft-reboot: it is very similar to Saints Row The Third which, even if appreciated, is nonetheless ten years old. In fact, this is felt and this new adventure is still struggling to impose itself through its technique, its gameplay or its creativity which remain anchored in a certain immobility despite some novelties: it is however a game of effective action that never takes itself seriously, rather funny and with damn generous content, which we can never blame him for. Volition finally delivers Saints Row 3 with far-west sauce, which remains appreciable without breaking three pieces of dough for a gunslinger.

The Saints Row (2022) reboot takes things back to basics but with very little push for innovation. It still gets a lot right, but that success is in areas where it was already strong, and little effort has been invested in strengthening the weaker aspects. A reboot should offer a chance at a clean slate, at cutting ties with what held you back in the past, but Saints Row (2022) fails to do this in any meaningful way.

Saints Row reins in the absurdity to a fairly significant degree but still manages to indulge in some of the chaotic action and silly hijinks the series is known for. Its story is simple and fairly predictable, yet spending time with its diverse and well-rounded characters makes it worth seeing through to the end. It's a shame the gameplay isn't quite as progressive, opting instead for out-of-date mechanics and level design. Combat is decent, and the story missions are enjoyable when at their most over-the-top, but there's too much bland filler in between. Rebooting the series made sense, yet in many ways, Saints Row is still stuck in the past and struggling to live up to its legacy.

There’s a weight of history behind Saints Row, and no matter whether you’re comparing it to the more serious early games or the sillier later ones, it’s pretty clear that the Saints Row reboot doesn’t live up to any of them.

Volition miscalculated. They interpreted that ridding Saints Row of its over-the-top nature, leaving behind only the series' essence was the right way to get to a triumphant new beginning. But in a post-GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 world, they found out that Saints Row's essence, without its excesses, simply doesn't cut it anymore.

The best game of the year or even five years.
Or what do you compare it to?
    Failed "failed" cyberpunk?
    Or with classic GTA remasters?

Before that, the remastered game did not reach the level of Mafia 1, but it did not try.
And after such games, you look at a game like Mafia 3 with different eyes.

But it is better to compare it with Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2, especially with Watch Dogs Legion, where more and more game mechanics, features and details were cut out with each part.
Here even cars are not bricks on wheels and not pinned in the middle on a pin.

Or you can compare it to Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3, although they have nothing to do with it. But do you understand what I mean?

And we don't have a big list of such games:
    Mafia
    Mafia (restart).
    Watch Dogs
    Sleeping dogs
    GTA

Maybe a couple more of these games.

Did you expect more from her?
The GTA level can only be reached by GTA and then, the big question is whether she will be able to do it with the 6th part. (and will she come out at all?)

Definitely worth taking, that's just confused by the price, this game is clearly not at the level of $ 60, but thank you for not $ 70

Only one thing I ask the developers, it's enough to shove such a style everywhere, it's not Fortnite enough, do normal graphics, from which it does not dazzle in the eyes.

This aint it volition. This version of saints row leaves behind what made the original games so much fun to play. No more offensive, yet funnyThis aint it volition. This version of saints row leaves behind what made the original games so much fun to play. No more offensive, yet funny humor and wacky story missions, with over-the-top memorable characters that the original games reveled in. I can't remember any of the new characters names, but I remember Shaundi, Gat, Pierce, Kenzi, Oleg, Angel, Professor Genki, The Deckers, The Zynn. The Syndicate. Not the Generic, car-loving, musclehead panteros that just feel like discount brotherhood from SR2.

Santa Illeso is a bland, boring, empty open world, while fun to explore at first, offers nothing to find but a few collectables of pointless value. The mission structure feels way too repetitive, you can no longer buy businesses or take over districts one section at a time. All the clothing for customization is littered all over the map with way too many individual vendors. Want a cool cape? You have to drive all the way into the mountains to buy it from a guy that sells that and gloves, cool. Bugs were minor and frequent but never game breaking for me, and after about 5 hours I had no desire to play this "new" saints row anymore.

Gun combat is way too clunky for a 2022 game. The camera snap feature on all different settings made me want to just quit. Enemies will charge you while you're fine aiming so you have no option but to get animation locked when hit while you try to back away, but cant so you stumble around and get shot at by the others. Guns would constantly be un-loaded when I'd swap to them, and my character would often times get stuck reloading over and over again.

The features of placing specific building for empire planning and being able to customize anywhere are really cool, and I wish I had these options in the previous games to make it feel like I was running a real criminal enterprise.

When Saints Row does GTA it never works, but when Saints Row does Saints Row, its always great. This is just another open world clone with no substance and forgettable content.

All in all, it's an okay open world game, and a bad "Saints Row" game.

Holy **** this game is bad. Some halfwit here **** themselves over it having a 69 rating from critics and claimed that not only was it gameHoly **** this game is bad. Some halfwit here **** themselves over it having a 69 rating from critics and claimed that not only was it game of the year, but the best game of the past 5 years. This is, of course, an excellent way to either say that you haven't played another game in that time, or that the studio is paying to shill for them. It now has a rating of 65 by the way... The same halfwit ignores the bugs that this game had on launch.

It's telling that the cowardly sack of excrement releasing sales figures won't give an answer about how many copies this game has sold. More importantly, it's been admitted to be a flop and I'd honestly be surprised if it broke even. The other games were good and funny. Having to listen to some dip****s complain about student loans, THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SIGNED FOR, makes the admission that they are complete and total morons unsurprising. I'm guessing that's the crowd they were shooting for with this. Maybe take a look at WHY the original was so popular and try to go that route, rather than a bunch of whiny 20 year olds.
