    Ashwood Creek
Step into the shoes of Ethan, a police officer in the quaint town of Ashwood Creek - a place where the trees whisper, the mountains loom, and secrets hide just out of sight. What begins as a routine investigation, quickly spirals into a haunting journey through the unknown.

Ashwood Creek feels frozen in time, untouched by the chaos of the outside world. But under the surface, something dark is stirring. A teenager has gone missing. A strange signal is cutting through the static of local radio stations. Lured deeper into Ashwood Creek National Park, you’ll need to tune in to every frequency and every echo of the past in the hopes of uncovering the truth.

Guided by the voice of Robert, your childhood friend and the town’s chief of police, you’ll venture through dense forests, foggy valleys, and forgotten trails. Together, you’ll piece together clues, follow mysterious broadcasts, and uncover the secrets that Ashwood Creek would rather keep hidden. But the closer you get to the truth, the more you’ll realise that some things are better left buried.

Radiolight is an interesting game, certainly great for anyone who enjoys compact, creative and very engaging stories. If you liked Firewatch and other similar games, but you wanted a horror component, I think Radiolight fits right in. The radio mechanics are unique, and they actually matter in the game’s world. Not only that, but the fact that this game is made by a solo developer raises things up to the next level. It certainly feels like a game made by a small team, that’s for sure. Aside from the story and atmosphere, I am also a fan of how cohesive the dialog is, and the fact that you have plenty of stuff to explore. When we talk about solo-dev games, a lot of the time they need to cut corners due to a lack of resources. It doesn’t seem to be the case here. You do get to have someone to connect with as you play, the story is fun enough to keep you entertained and interested, but at the same time, there are spooky moments as well. It’s a nice change of pace from regular walking sims, while retaining the great atmosphere and gameplay that these titles are known for.

Radiolight is an enjoyable sci-fi adventure where we’re constantly wanting to see what’s next, with great performances pulling us through to a solid conclusion.

With only a little interference to enjoyment, Radiolight‘s one-man production offers a supernatural 1980s mystery well worth exploring in a gorgeously detailed yet solidly creepy woodland setting.

An intriguing narrative-driven mystery that feels like a spookier version of Firewatch, there's a lot to like about Radiolight — especially when you take into consideration that it's from a solo developer. It's just a shame it's held back by a myriad of bugs and issues.

Radiolight, although it doesn't present any technical problems, places us in a scenario that is perhaps a little lacking in detail, where the presence of more points of interest, such as buildings or other shelters, might have been more functional. However, it must be considered that the adventure takes place in a National Park, so one couldn't expect any real miracles in this respect.
