With an increase in scope and improvements in every area, Q.U.B.E. 2 shows that Toxic Games have learnt from their experience and are doing a great job. This is an excellent title that is even better than the great game that it follows on from.

Well done and atmospherically dense sequel of the puzzle adventure, convinces with a multitude of clever puzzles and mechanics.

The story isn't much, but despite a lot of block shifting, QUBE 2's puzzles never stop feeling fresh. [Apr 2018, p.76]

The rigid structure of the story and some insignificances can’t throw a shade over all qualities of Q.U.B.E. 2. Gradually, it will teach you its crazy tricks and you will feel so smart that it may surprise you. [Issue#285]

Q.U.B.E. 2 is a perfect sequel to the 2011 puzzle adventure. The game delivers a deeper experience both in terms of puzzle solving, narrative and atmosphere.

Q.U.B.E. 2 is far more beautiful than the original Q.U.B.E., but it also lacks originality.

In the end the narrative isn’t quite as strong as the puzzle content found throughout, but nonetheless Q.U.B.E. 2 is an impressive entry in the test-chamber puzzle game subgenre first made popular by Valve’s Portal.

Like the original, Q.U.B.E. 2 keeps the emphasis on smart puzzle design and maintains a core group of mechanics that fit together like a glove.

The sequel does everything better than the original Q.U.B.E. and is an absolute joy to look at. It is a great game for younger or less experienced players, because the puzzles, while satisfying, are easy and have single solutions. [05/2018, p.64]

There really is an element of nostalgia, launching blocks across the level and busting open doors, et cetera. And hey, at least this one has a story to pick up the pace when the puzzles drag. Sometimes literally.

Q.U.B.E. 2 is a pretty solid puzzle game with a better graphics than the previous chapter. The story is not very original and there are no complimentary characters, probably due to the limited budget. Even given this, if you like this kind of game you should keep an eye on it.

Q.U.B.E 2 starts well. Q.U.B.E 2 is pretty. Unfortunately, Q.U.B.E 2 never manages to surprise the player. Here's a good puzzle game that could have achieved so much more.

Not the worst imitator of Portal 2 that gets better as the story progresses, but, alas, the moment of magical transformation never comes. You won’t miss much by skipping this game entirely.

Q.U.B.E. 2 takes the first-person puzzler in a direction I can only hope Portal 3 might someday go.

WhichThe simple fact is that manipulating coloured squares and blocks on a wall is not as immediately gratifying as making portals in Portal. Which immediately places this game in a lower strata. Add to that the rather uninspiring scenery, monotonous geometric architecture lit sparely with lots of gloomy shadows, and it's just not a gamespace to enthuse about. The attempt to fill out the experience with a threadbare sci-fi plot with voice acting does work but it's not enough to escape the feeling of being stuck in a bland puzzler. Full Review »

The narrative is captivating and is paced well between the puzzles, it leaves you thinking about every line, almost a puzzle in itself.

The music while fitting is not very memorable, it makes you think in the moment but you quickly forget it. This is a point i think could be improved. The atmospheric sounds and footsteps are nice though.

The graphics are very very nice. You will want to look around or stop and stare in many places. It's not distracting during puzzles, but is beautiful when it needs to be. It gives a very portal feel.

The puzzles. The most important part in a game like this. They are perfect. The difficulty slowly ramps up in a nice way, where you will be challenged more, but have the experience to solve it. New mechanics are introduced often enough that you do not get bored, but not so quick that you get overwhelmed.

I wish this game was a little longer, but it is probably long enough for most at around 5-6 hours.
