Q.U.B.E. 2 takes the first-person puzzler in a direction I can only hope Portal 3 might someday go.

WhichThe simple fact is that manipulating coloured squares and blocks on a wall is not as immediately gratifying as making portals in Portal. Which immediately places this game in a lower strata. Add to that the rather uninspiring scenery, monotonous geometric architecture lit sparely with lots of gloomy shadows, and it's just not a gamespace to enthuse about. The attempt to fill out the experience with a threadbare sci-fi plot with voice acting does work but it's not enough to escape the feeling of being stuck in a bland puzzler. Full Review »

The narrative is captivating and is paced well between the puzzles, it leaves you thinking about every line, almost a puzzle in itself.

The music while fitting is not very memorable, it makes you think in the moment but you quickly forget it. This is a point i think could be improved. The atmospheric sounds and footsteps are nice though.

The graphics are very very nice. You will want to look around or stop and stare in many places. It's not distracting during puzzles, but is beautiful when it needs to be. It gives a very portal feel.

The puzzles. The most important part in a game like this. They are perfect. The difficulty slowly ramps up in a nice way, where you will be challenged more, but have the experience to solve it. New mechanics are introduced often enough that you do not get bored, but not so quick that you get overwhelmed.

I wish this game was a little longer, but it is probably long enough for most at around 5-6 hours.
