The pool with puzzle pieces is a bit bigger, which helps a little in the later stages where hundreds of tiny pieces are stacked on one another. The "fishing" for the pieces is still bad, often picking up everything but the one piece you are pointing at, but at least it's a little bit less broken than it was in Japan. It also tried differentiating the gameplay by making the player manage a soldier on the bottom of the screen while putting together the puzzle, setting up barricades, buying weapons and fending off the zombie attacks. It's not very well done and doesn't fit in the gameplay style, but it's just a gimmick you can turn off when you get bored or annoyed with it.
That gimmick addition is also included in the menu, where you can really see how bad it is. Especially if you are going for the achievements, because to get them all, you will have to spend around two hours playing this mess of a shooter, all in one sitting, with no way to pause it.
Speaking of which, just like in the previous game, there still is no option to save the progress of your puzzle and come back to it later, all of them, even the ones with hundreds of pieces have to be completed in one sitting.
It's a little thing, but the settings also proved to be an annoyance, specifically the fact that they do not save your changes (it seems to be a theme for this game,) and if you don't want to play with the default levels of sound and in fullscreen, you'll have to change it every time you launch the game (fake sliders included.)
As for music, I can't say much about it. It very well may be good (It is the only game in the series you can buy soundtrack of) but I quickly got annoyed by the zombie moans and grunts in the background, so I've turned it all off and listened to my own music.
Overall, by comparing it to the Pixel Puzzles Japan (which got negative review from me) it is decent enough to make me consider giving it better score (if you ignore achievement hunting, and look at the core gameplay only,) if it wasn't for one thing, which happens to be the most important: The puzzles themselves. It's all a matter of taste, but frankly speaking most of them (excluding just one, maybe two) are just ugly and/or disgusting.
No matter how many things it fixes (which isn't that much in this case anyway,) I can't find myself recommending jigsaw puzzles with visuals like these.… Expand
