Govern all aspects of the exotic Egyptian, culture from religion to trading with distant cities. Cultivate vast farms in the Nile valley and discover the important role this river, with its unpredictable floods, played in the life of the Egyptians. Stone by stone, erect giant monuments - from the Sphinx, to the lighthouse and library of Alexandria.

Manage your city poorly and you shall watch it burn, be pillaged or collapse in economic ruin. Manage it well and ultimately the greatest Egyptian structures will be built in your honor. Your rule will span generations, until your dynasty, your royal bloodline produces a Pharaoh!

Pharaoh includes many features never before seen in a city building game, such as a farming model based on the flooding of the Nile, naval warfare, giant monuments that are assembled over time, unique dynastic progression, and variable difficulty levels. This a massively addictive, huge, but most importantly fun game that is a great choice for anyone looking for a solid city builder title, or an intellectual challenge.

Although I liked Zeus more visually and in many gameplay moments, it would be foolish not to say and not to admit that in THIS game the variety of construction and interaction was greater and more varieble. With all my love for Zeus, I could have spent more time in this game if not for one BUT that I really disliked in it: the mechanics of finding workers. I tried to approach this "beast" from different sides, tried to find compromises between the "aesthetics of the city" and "why the hell is this building not working", but in the end I could not get the same pleasure that I received from Zeus. And when my hands finally reached the Emperor - the last game in this series, I abandoned Pharaoh altogether. But, of course, I can recommend it: Zeus, Pharaoh, Emperor - this is the foundation of the ancient city-building games with that interesting game mechanics, it's a sin to bypass such cool games. Oh, and I didn't mention Caesar game because I didn't play it. When I found it, it seemed too be outdated for me and was no longer interesting. Especially after Anno games. Expand
