Overkill has wrecked the game with the so called Black Market update, it is an point of no return - the big gaming presses knows about their blatant lies.

If you love greedy devs and overprices games, why not, after all ...
Well no, let's be honest, it used to be fun. I mean, the first 3 DLCs were good. Then we got 2 years of **** wich we all paid for because ovk had our trust.
And what did we got ?
Paying skins for a free event, yay

So after all the DLCs and after saying that they will never include microtransactions, now here they are, just trying to get all the money from the players. Too bad...

It was an amazing game until they added microtransactions. Microtransactions that they promised multiple times they wouldn't add. It doesn't help that they added these microtransactions during crimefest, an event that rewards the community for in-game work with "free" DLC.

Added a f2p case drop system to a game that costs over £150 worth of DLC. They outright lied to us saying that there will be no micro transactions. They treat this community like a cash cow, and never listen to what we actually want, instead they release a load of pointless dlc at £4 each.

Developers are untrustworthy and the entire game is just a big money jump. The game is super expensive to play since all of the good heists are DLC and all the good weapons/mods are in the DLC as well.

    Would never recommend/10.

    Why 0?
Because that's the score the game deserves if you take into account the ammount of money it costs.
100+€ DLC, limited time overpriced content that's not aquireable anymore and the fact that they've explicitly stated there would me no micro-transactions, yet they've added micro-transactions. I WAS A FANBOY, BUT THE GAME IS P2W, COSTS 150€ WITH UNLIMITED MICRO-TRANSACTIONS. DO.

This is just the last straw in a long line of straws that Overkill done to tick off the community. The "What's Next" event, safehouse customisation that took two and half years to be released (if it actually DOES come out in spring 2016), the constant lies and cookie cutter apologies. But Crimefest 2015, an event so clouded in a colossal rage-storm that so far no one official has dared to speak, was indeed the straw that broke the camel's back.

This game was great up until they decided to add weapon skins ala CS:GO. That'd be all fine and dandy on its own, if not for the fact that said weapon skins provide stat boosts to your guns, and cost real life moneydollars to get.

Sadly this used to be a really good game. However with the recent course the developers have chosen this certainly is not a good game anymore. The game has gone from a fun experience with quite a lot of dlc to choose from to a game that has become pure pay2win. The microtransactions debacle has personally made me quit and uninstall this game.

The developers have once more made it cear that they don't care about their player base. They promised there would never be microtransactions, and now they suddenly introduced them as a "free reward" for a community event. As if the monthly overpriced DLC weren't enough, this game is now Pay2Win.

It was announced that it would never exist in the game...

If you are planning to buy this game, you might wanna know that you are going to pay much MUCH more than the actual game price !
Just take a look at the game price, all the DLCs, and now all the in-game purchases or the micro-transactions !!
Despite all the Heist farming, this game was one of my fav. I wouldn't even think of un-installing this game, but I'm seriously considering that now

Adding microtransactions as a reward for the 4th anniversary after 17 days of goals reached by the community.
    Overkill cupidity got no limits.
I paid the game 40€, I paid each of the more than twenty DLCs, and now I should pay for weapons skins which provides ingame bonus ? I say no, RIP this game, it was fun but Overkill'cupidity kills it.
I'll never bought another Overkill game.

Now this is only one instance to display the disregard for promises and statements made by their own development crew in OFFICIAL statements. Along with the disappearance of a quarter of a million in prizes for last years paydaycon which the community still has no clue where it went. I loved payday and on release despite the heists lacked the same intense driven feel as the original I still loved payday 2 but after a while not only did the quality of updates in general go down but the avalanche of DLC content was carrying the same level of disappointing effort and no real quality to justify their price point. All in all as the game stands and the continued disregard for player input in favor of a more profit driven dlc fest has created a sadly broken game. Expand

Since then, I have played nearly 200 hours and do not at all regret it. However the dev obviously only cares about money, so I will no longer be playing. The new update completely messed up any sort of balance there was before (weak pistol+skin now better than most powerful rifle). I just hope the mods will one day come to their senses and kill PD:GO.

To make things clear, the game is still very good, but the directions that it has been taking lately is unacceptable. Overkill now treats it as a money printer, and it is time for the community to step up and say enough. These skins aren't even like CS:GO, they massively effect gun usability.

TL;DR: Game is now trash. TF;GO, but much worse. No balance. Dev is a money-grubbing dick.

I have enthusiastically recommended this game countless times to friendsUp until Oct. 15, 2015, this was my favorite co-op multiplayer experience of all time. I have purchased all but the latest DLC, much at full price and including packs of weapons I have never used, in support of the developers and the product that has brought me more hours of enjoyment than any item in my library. I have enthusiastically recommended this game countless times to friends and acquaintances, inspiring more than a few purchases. In my professional career, I have pointed to the lack of microtransaction content as a functional business model that respects its audience while providing a constant stream of new gameplay options.

As of Oct. 15, 2015, I can no longer recommend Payday 2. In the weeks leading up to that date, the developers of the game hosted a series of challenges that, when completed, would unlock new updates that would be free to all owners of the product. On that date, the first of a ten day "Crimefest", the feature revealed to have been unlocked was... microtransactions.

After completing a mission in the game, the player has always been awarded with a virtual card that is flipped over to reveal a new modification for a weapon, a cosmetic mask, and other unlocks. With the new "free" update, this reward can be replaced with a "safe" object. The safe contains a weapon skin of varying rarity as well as the possibility of unique weapon modifications. Very rarely, these weapon skins can add a statistics boost to the weapon when applied. These safes can be opened with a special "drill" object. The catch is the drill can ONLY be obtained by payment of $2.50 (and up) on the Steam Marketplace. There is NO method of opening a safe outside of this financial transaction.

As a long time supporter, this is a betrayal too harsh to bear. The game has been uninstalled and I will not be playing, purchasing, or recommending products by OVERKILL or Starbreeze Studios from this date forward. They have lost this once loyal customer and many others with the addition of this "feature".

    TL;DR - Pay-for product contains microtransactions for potentially non-cosmetic rewards - 0/10

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
