    Pay 2 Win day 2
More skins in the new update and more bugs
It's pay to win now, as the skins cost money to buy and have stat boosts
It already had DLC content over $100

This studio just want to make quick and easy money and is selling you something you might never get.

Trust me, you can invest those kind of money into games and studios that deserve it. I am regretting ever supporting Overkill.

Spent money on DLC's to support them and keep the game alive for years. Sure, microtransactions do work, but not like this. The skins give advantages. Also promised no microtransactions, but oh well. Lying is a thing. I'd be lying if I'd say this is a good company. The game isn't what is's used to be.

Joining myself in the crusade of a statement we want to bring to Overkill: **** you Overkill!!!
On the first day of the crimefest event 2k15 was supposed to be free content, but it was a free update with a copy pasted cs go skins and the micro-transactions that it brings.
What less people discussed is also the weapon stats has gone totally overboard and is totally rushed and not well

It used to be good then came the characters dlc every other day and the paid buffed skins. Choke in it greedy devs. Tgen to make people buy skins they nerfed certain weapons. 2 years ago the lead dev said that they would never do microtransactions. Well we know better now.

A delightful fun time, until the developers added microtransactions that changed weapon stats, then nerfed the weapons to the point that without microtransactions, weapons are useless. Do not play.

The OVERKILL crew wants to get ALL your money by all means. 100$ + micro-transactions for skins that change weapon stats is the worst marketing idea ever.
Playing the game be ready to deal with desynch that makes coop stealth impossible, bugs, and disbalance (coz DLC weapons are 200% better than vanilla).

    Negative review.

Because **** microtransactions in PD2 world. Overkill promised us a game without any weapon skins and microtransactions. Time has passed, director of the game has changed and now developers are spitting on us, forgetting their promises.

    PD2 is dead for me.

This game has become a blatant cash-grab by the developers. You need to purchase the base game, then over $100 in DLC, and now they've introduced stat boosting micro-transactions so you can feed them more money in an attempt to to "pay 2 win".

The game used to be fun, particularly in co-op with friends, but recently the quality and content is going down hill (lots of bugs that don't get fixed, item's clipping through characters, attempts at weapon re-balancing that did the opposite etc) and the company spends more time developing ways to get more money out of you than adding new and interesting content. Don't waste your money or time.

Overkill crossed the line. They shouldn't have lied, they shouldn't have put micro-transactions the way they did it. But as a greedy developer they've become, they had to do it. Was it worth it? Was it worth pissing all your community? Surely they think it was, but when their other games come along, the internet will remember what they did with Payday 2 and it won't be pleasant.

Developers aren't putting effort into this game anymore, in fact, the developers are actually trying their hardest to sink it with microtransactions that affect the game balance and half-assed content whilst ignoring the users.
Don't buy this game, don't buy their DLC, don't even think of giving them a single penny from your hard-earned money until they undo all their wrongdoings.

Let's get the positives over with. This game fills a niche market; a game where you get to play as a criminal with very specific skills and profiles. I know you may be thinking GTA at the moment but Payday is very different. Not being an open world game, Payday focuses on the jobs and heists themselves. You and a four person crew work together to hold off police forces while accomplishing goals and gaining assets. There is also a fleshed out skills system in which you customize your characters abilities and fighting style. For a long time this was the best game for anyone who loves heist movies and wanted to experience the thrill of criminal enterprise without all the jail time.

Now for the negatives. This game has always been buggy and the graphics are below average at best. The AI has always been awful, demanding that you play with other people; any hopes of playing by yourself will be quickly shut down. While these were relatively minor issues, because Payday 2 is constantly being updated, problems have cropped up. One can easily spend over one hundred dollars on DLC for this game, some of which is needed to stay competitive. DLC's show no sign of slowing with a new one being introduced nearly each month. Micro-transactions are also part of the game costing $2.50 for a gamble on a new weapon mod each time. One can't help but wonder if the studio has squandered all its profits on a hugely successful game and are now bailing out a sinking ship. The point is that Payday 2 certainly looks to be on the decline and isn't worth consumers' funding any longer.

As another note, any potential buyers should understand that the older any reviews are, the more unreliable they get, due to the nature of this constantly updated game. The newest reviews are all going to be the most accurate to the game as is it right now.

It was a good game. Until the dev team turn it in the **** pay-to-win game I've ever seen in my whole life. I used to like to play this game, but the direction the Overkill came taking is affecting the game.

All we get are more and more paid DLC, some being totally clueless (maybe funny?).

Usually doing that in games is boring and/or frustrating as all get out, but PAYDAY 2 found a way to make it work, and work REALLY well.

So what happened to get this negative review? Long story short: the updates. People began to note that with each passing DLC there was a sort of power creep going on. A pay to win system. Now the latest update promises weapon rebalances to fix this issue as part of this massive community event where we completed challenges for free rewards. What happened instead? Weapons were further nerfed and a microtransaction model was implemented. Get a safe at random and then pay a fee of real world money to get a drill to unlock the safe to get a random skin. Sounds familiar? CSGO and TF2 did the same thing with their key system. Only difference here is that the skins enhance your stats.

So what did this update the community have to work for and were promised a free reward turn out to be? Your guns are rendered useless and the only way to buff them back to where they were before, which means still a power creep and paid DLC guns are still superior, is to spend even more money to have a CHANCE at fixing your loadout. That's BS. What is also BS is that prior to release the company stated in an interview when asked if PAYDAY 2 will have microtransactions, "No. No. God, I hope not. Never. No." But wait, that came from someone who left the company! I hear you, I understand. Here's a link to a statement from Almir Listo, who is still at Overkill and working as the unofficial PR guy because Overkill won't hire a real one for some reason. http://i.imgur.com/wQCwAyd.png This update has turned them into liars.

"Wait wait wait," I hear you saying. "Not all the guns were nerfed. Some of them were buffed." Indeed, buffed to ridiculous extremes. For example, pistols are now doing three times the damage shotguns are. This is its own problem. As stated earlier, there was a powercreep going on. It has gotten so much worse now, with specific items at least. The balance has been thrown out the window. So how do you catch up your nerfed weapons to be back where to were, much less on par with the other weapons that were buffed to high hell? Skins! Pay up and MAYBE you'll see your gun marginally improve.

Nerfing weapons to hell and putting buffs to them behind a gambling paywall is wrong.

Buffing weapons to the point that the game is completely unbalanced and Bulldozers, this game's version of COD MW's Juggernauts, are able to be killed in 3-5 headshots and the effect where their mask flies off from the damage taken simply doesn't work anymore is also a game killer. You don't really have a game anymore. Just something to throw money at.

Was this game great at one time? Absolutely.
Is it worth your money now? Heck no. Stay away. You'll just end up having to spend even more of it anyways.

I had to buy the game again because they refused to support the older-gen port.
Then, I bought the COPack to keep the game's policy at a state of "Paid DLC is necessary" and "We do Free DLC as often as we can"
I also bought it knowing that Overkill was an indie dev, had new concepts like Safehouse Customization, and wouldn't have microtransactions. Currently, all of those are wrong.

Don't forget grinding to unlock "free" content which was really paid.
Or having to sell ourselves out like a mobile game to unlock content.

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
