this game sucks so hard they are never going to fix anything and it is almost impossible to play the game without buying 150 dlc's and then you can still waste another 20 bucks to gain a skin with stat boost which brings your weapon over the breakpoint.
going over the breakpoint is insane cause you now only need 1 shot instead of 2 but that's the reason why to spend 20 bucks...

Overkill flat out lied to the player base when they said no microtransactions. We already have more than $100 in DLC on top of the base game, but apparently that's not enough money. This isn't even scratching the surface of the bad practices the developer has done, and because of it I leave this negative review.

Why on God's green earth would they add microtransactions? Seriously, the game is raking the dough as it is, you have to add THOSE as well? Geez. Oh and now of course the thing that cost 20 bucks and was supposed to be cosmetic only has stat boosts.

It used to be such a good game before developers decided to go full retard.
They added p2w skins to the game which for example makes pistols now stronger than most rifles.

At its current condition this game should no longer be played or supported in any way. Walk away don't look back.

    Good game.
Used to be. Before Overkill introduced microtransactions and skins that boost guns' stats. Despite claiming they hate them and that they will NEVER cripple their game with MTs. Dick move, OVK, dick move.
Oh, and there are also DLCs with owerpowered weapons like flamethrower, minigun or RPG.
1/10 just because it's still fun. Sort of.

A good game that has been degraded into a money making scheme by greedy devs. Milking the gamers, first with almost monthly dlc containing the best weapons and perks. Now a crate system which means spending money for a random item that may or may not improve your weapons.

Before the **** started, I would highly recommend to everyone to at least try this game because of its awesome Co-op experience.

Now, I will say stay the hell out of this game at all times! Why the sudden change? Here's the most recent reasons why I give this game a pretty and red "0": - Microtransaction with stat boosts which affect the balance of the game even though it's P2E.

Now, I will say stay the hell out of this game at all times! Why the sudden change? Here's the most recent reasons why I give this game a pretty and red "0":

    - Microtransaction with stat boosts which affect the balance of the game even though it's P2E. Overkill/Almir promised us that there would be NO MICROTRANSACTION in Payday 2(shame on you if you thought otherwise. That rings a bell, huh?). Even the reasons he given couldn't justify what he had done to community(Google it if you really wanna know).

-The COMPLETELY OVERKILL PACK. This pissed me off the most since I'd paid $20 just to "support" Overkill innocently and what did we get? Only 1 out of 25 weapon skins and every weapon skin is horrendous with stat boosts which Overkill claimed that they were crafted with "love and care" and promised they were only cosmetic. *Double facepalm*

These 2 most recent cases show how Overkill treat the community with dishonesty and **** I recognize that the purpose of company is to earn profit but this is not how you earn it by lying to your loyal customers and treat them like walking wallets.

What's done is done, what's done will be done. GG Overkill.

The 1st, they promised us to don't put the micro-transactions in the game. The golden «shame on you if you thought otherwise!».

The 2nd, the system is using the casino-style drop-roulette that means you probably will not get the item that you wanted exactly.

The 3rd, most of items looks like a junk. Give your child a paint spray and a gun and you will get the same result. Moreover, you can scrap your fresh painted gun with a rasp because in the game you will get a random item with the random skin and the random QUALITY. But it's not over yet. If you got a DLC-item, you have to buy this DLC to use this item (remember about €110+).

The 4th. Weapons that you got with micro-transactions is actually stronger than the regular variant. At this point it started to be Pay 2 Win.

The 5th. Skins provide for you and your team XP and MONEY BOOST. More guys with the painted guns you have – stronger boost you get. Just think of it: you can be kicked from the lobby for not buying the random **** for your real money. It actually happened.

We have a good game that ruined buy the lie, greed and sloth.

Once upon a time there was a small, independent game studio that emerged from Grin which was dicked over by a contract default. They made a successful game, PDTH, and the sequel was more successful than their wildest dreams, making millions in profits by pre-order only. They were successful because they really were the mythical regular-guys developer that actually interacted with its community, and got a big help from that community in word-of-mouth marketing by devoted fans. Fans built this game and this company. They're the ones who got the game started and continued to buy DLC clinging to the small-indepedent-developer line until it became undeniably false.

Overkill has cashed in every last drop of devotion from the fans who created it. They continued the regular frequency DLC model to manipulate fans into supporting them, then released microtransactions to double dip. They only work on DLC while ignoring simple fixes and bugs, they promise things that take literally years to get a half-♥♥♥♥♥ copout release, if at all, they nerf DLC content after release, and they've rebalanced (nerfed) specific weapons with the sole motivation of creating a wider pool of weapons that people may want to buy skins for rather than actual gameplay reasons.

Overkill does not care about you. Treat them like EA or Ubisoft from now on.

If that wasn't bad enough, Overkill have added microtransaction skins in what is called "safes", basically CSGO or TF2 cases, but you can't sell these and you can get skins for guns you don't have the DLC for, forcing you to buy DLC to use skins you paid for. They **** up the balance of the game as the skins give boosts to your guns, giving you an edge over players who don't spend extra money (though that was already the case with the dlc's), making it pay to win. The reason for why I score the game a firm 0 is with what the game has become and actions done by the developer Overkill Software.

Overkill promised to not put microtransactions into the game, and they did put microtransactions into the game. Microtransactions for weapon skins that have a stat boost. Sure, not a big deal in a PvE coop, one might think, but the stat boosts can actually push the weapon over critical damage/stability/concealment thresholds. Then they rebalanced the game allegedly not around the stat boosts (but it is around the stat boosts) and into oblivion, so a pistol is more accurate and deals more damage than assault rifles with the proper pistol-skills (there are no damage enchancing skills for assault rifles). In short, microtransactions that make you better in a game is Pay2Win. Once I regarded Overkill as one of the developers that 'got it', now I regard Overkill as one of the most untrustworthy developers out there which also lack insight into what made their games great.

The latest is that the stat boosts now is reduced and offers a boost to XP and Money for the team of up to four players. Which in turn means that if you find yourself in a lobby where 3 players have XP and money boosts, you are likely to be kicked if you do not have two XP and money boost weapons. That is not a fun game, it is not the Payday 2 I remember. It is exactly a game I do not want to play. Maybe you do, but I do not.

Later we bought Payday 2 for PS3. We were impressive how many heists they made. Wow, there are 4 different bank heists! Later we realized that they are the same. The same location is used for different heists. We were disappointed but it still was a fun game.
3 months ago I bought Payday 2 on PS4 and were impressed how many new and fun heists they added. I enjoyed this game.
Also I decided to try Payday 2 on PC. I had to wait for a sale because I didn't want to spend 100 euro on DLCs (the game itself costs 20 euros). Later I bought every single DLC for about 27 euros. So in total it's 47 euros on sale. You can buy few AAA titles on sale for this money.
I didn't like the recent DLCs because they add nothing besides new weapons and masks and weapons shouldn't even be in Payday (come on, swords and bow for bank robbers?). Anyway, I knew that it's just an overkill way to get the money. Ok, that's their model and I accepted it.
16th of October, 2015. They implemented microtransactions like in CS:GO, Dota or TF2. They went further and added stat boosts to the skins. They added microtransactions in a game that costs 120 euros.
One month later they finally released completely overkill pack award. People were angry at overkill, the most loyal fans who bought COP asked overkill to at least remove stat boosts from skins. And then later overkill responded: "We added more stat boosts! Yaaaay!".
That's it, I won't recommend this game to anyone anymore.

In 2013, just before the game was released, the lead producer (or the "poster boy" of the company, OVERKILL) Almir, (we'll just call him Satan from now on) promised that there would be NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS of any sort in PAYDAY 2. Then, he went on to say that no DLC for the game would be more than $5. That promise was quickly broken, but that doesn't matter, as now it was mixed between 5-7 dollars per DLC, and that was alright since they were bringing in bigger and better maps, as well as lowering the cost of older DLCs.

    Then came Infamy 2.0

Infamy in PAYDAY is like prestige in CoD. You give up your level 100 status, skills, money, etc. and you have to earn it all again. In return, you earn an infamy point to spend in either extra total exp gained from heists, or a cool mask, or skill set requirements being lower. Now once again, OVERKILL and their poster boy, Almir (Satan) lied to us. They stated that Infamy 2.0 would NOT be just masks and a couple of exp boosts. After of which, Almir (Satan) said that he would discuss Infamy 2.0 and how to improve it according to community feedback.

We're still waiting on Satan to talk with us. But then, around a month ago, OVERKILL finished digging their grave and started to assemble their coffin.

OVERKILL and Almir (Satan), on the 4th birthday of the series, decided to implement Micro-transactions as a REWARD for the community. These were skins for your weapons. Remember when Almir (Satan) told us that there would be absolutely no microtransactions in PAYDAY?

But that's not even the worst part. These skins are not cosmetic. They have an effect in-game. They add attributes like stability, accuracy, damage bonuses, etc. to your weapons, making you more powerful. So essentially, the game has become pay 2 win.

Some may argue that the bonuses are insignificant, and while that is correct that they are small, the effect they have is astounding. One particular weapon has a damage of 62.9, and the breakpoint for 1 shot headshot kills is 63 damage. And guess what? There is a skin for that weapon that gives it +1 damage. This applies to many other weapons as well.

Another factor to look at is that the skins also just look so **** They look like Almir (Satan) and his cronies went into MSPaint and had a colourgasm all over a model of the gun.

A large portion of the player-base dropped after this. And you would think that OVERKILL would try to patch up the wound they created by shooting themselves in the foot. And they tried. Almir (Satan) hosted an AMA on Reddit. He discussed the recent changes and how to work with the community.

It was essentially a massive **** you" to the community.

So now, the ugly pay2win skins were here to stay on top of a $20 base price and over $120 worth of DLC.

But today they hammered in the final nail in their coffin.

Today they released the Completely OVERKILL Pack. The Completely OVERKILL Pack was a $20 DLC released during the Hype Train event in March this year. This gave the players 4 new masks and a "Secret Item to be revealed at a later date".

    To quote from OVERKILL themselves:

"YOU will each receive an in-game package from an old friend. Wrapped in true virtual aluminum. Inside is an item randomly given to you from a limited collection of 25 items. It will be rare, it will be a true PAYDAY collectible. Each item is carefully crafted with love and respect for our hardcore OVERKILL supporters. As a thanks to you from us and from the rest of the community for making the Hype Train render so much BONUS content for millions of players standing by. This secret content is still being worked on and is the only content that won’t be released during the Spring Break. It will be released when we have given it the care and love that it deserves."

They also stated it would be a purely cosmetic item, with no in-game advantage.

    Once again, they lied.

We each got 1 of 25 weapon skins which looked pretty **** in my opinion, which we could sell on the steam community market. Yeah. A true PAYDAY collectible. Given the love it deserves.

But not only that. They weren't cosmetic.

Some of the skins gave stat bonuses, like stats and accuracy etc. But some give you bonuses on the amount of exp and cash that you get at the end of a heist. So you can easily be better than those without skins. Once again, OVERKILL and Almir (Satan) lied to us.

They were a good company once. They listened. They were the one company who gave us a FOV slider within an hour of the game coming out in the beta version. They were the one company who gave us silly and fun achievements to do. They were the one company who made amazing live actions to promote their game.

Now, they have simply stained their reputation and become another EA/Ubisoft.

Overkill screwing the Completely Overkill Pack buyers and adding the safe (crate) gambling killed the game for me. I am not against paid skins (without the p2w), but in the way they do it now is really bad. Buyers should be able to choose what skin they get.

Unfortunately I have to strongly recommend against buying this game due the recent rolling out of pay to win microtransactions. This, in addition to their piecemeal weapon dlc system, heist dlc, and character dlc despite promising no microtransactions ever, makes payday2 one of the worst pay to play games on steam.

A really great game. I loved to play it.
First came the 'rebalancing' that weakened all the dlc weapons. Then came the first wave of micro transactions. Then the second (team stat boosts). And now I'm sad and confused on why they would end their own game this way. I don't get it. Overkill, pull yourself together.

LONG STORY SHORT : Be wise and never buy any game from Starbreeze or Overkill if it's done in recent years or in future. All you get is false marketing and lies.

    Why? Well...

This game used to be fun when it came out. Sure, it had it's bugs'n'glitches and quite many features were still missing but devs promised they would come. Years later, there are still bugs and some features are still missing. It would not be that bad, because it used to be fun, but then they sold dozens of DLC's on it. Same thing happened, kinda, as with Killing Floor. But it wasn't so bad. Yeah game's about 30 euros and then you buy over 100 euros worth DLC, don't get everything they promised prior publishing BUT the game was still fun so it was bearable. Barely.

Then they broke the game and last one of their promises. "There will be no microtransactions", they said. They did introduce it. It was not only cosmetic thing but with stats as well. In the same time they did something they called "weapon rebalance" which actually made all other guns than pistols vain. Shotguns were like throwing peabags to enemies, sniper rifles were vain because you just could use pistol with more ammo, higher firerate and scope, submachine guns were not that good to begin with and they pretty much stayed the same. Even assault rifles and LMG's were worse than pistols. So. They introduced microtransactions through which you could get RANDOM skin for random weapon, some of those skins with statboosts. And those guns, all else than pistols, were pretty much useless. Unless you got atleast bit of statboost which you might get by buying dozens of drills. So you've bought DLC's with many kind of guns, customized you guns for hours and then... it's all futile. You just can't get them work anymore, not even with customization. Devs got lots of negative feedback. Which they completely overlooked.

But wait! It got even better! They sold these 20 euro worth "Completely Overkill Packs" which supposed to give somekind of nice unique cosmetic token. Guess what you got from them? Some RANDOM weapon skin :D Yeah. 20 euro's worth of weapon skin to, most likely, useless gun. They have lied and deceived their customers for years but this time it's been false marketing and deliberate breaking the game. Like getting the game as hostage.

So I ended up playing this game, uninstalled it after 800+ hours of playtime, 100+ euros poorer. I'm not bitter, I'm not angry. Sometimes you just pay heavy price for trusting some companies. What can you do when you've learned your lesson? Warn others. Spread the word. I've done so. If you buy this game, or any other game they do, you're going to get ripped and robbed. In that case you can only yourself to blame since there's easily 30k+ angry fans spreading the word. Seriously. Don't buy it, not even in sale.

Paired alongside the fact that they have slowly been adding DLCs that include weapons better than the base weapons and forcing users to buy it in order to achieve the strongest builds, I will be keeping my review of this game negative until there is a change by Overkill about all of this. It is a fun game, don't get me wrong, but they have slowly been teetering towards a crash they should be able to see from miles away, and is a wake-up call.

And now, even more fun, as of 11/13/15. As a reward for those players that decided to support them by basically donating 20 dollars, and having to wait months and months and months after each and every setback, they were given, you guessed it, a skin. And this can be horrible quality, while another can be good quality and have ANOTHER stat boost that increases experience and money gained. Most of the skin look horrendous, and somehow it has taken them this long to create them.

This is how they treat loyal players. They give them everything they don't want as thanks for being here for so long, and feed off of the new players that don't know any betters. As of the writing of this, 3 Steam Mods of the Payday 2 forums have refused to moderate anymore, due to Overkill not listening and due to DEATH THREATS. This is getting out of hand on both sides, and it, again, could have been avoided.

I just can't figure it out if it's a good game or a bad game. I've had it like almost 11 months.
This is the first longest review ever.

    Pros:
Soundtracks: Hands straight down, the soundtracks in this game that's what it keeps live. And then Simon Viklund left.

More customization: Guns and mods, masks with paintings, are all available for customizing. (Just look at the about the low quality in actual third person models.) It's patched, but bots are still using low quality.

Stealth features: If you kill/bag a security guard while the other person saw him, or break glass/camera, or you let the civilians stay alone while in stealth, they all will call and bring the cops, and know that there's something wrong. It's really amazing, no games have features like this.

    Mods support

Development support: The game is updated every 2-3 weeks, which is very great to keep the game fresh and updated. This is why we still keep playing the game.

    Cons:
    Bad Graphics:
It's terrifying, just look at the third person guns, they're absolute like quake's guns (PATCHED, they partially fixed it, specifically, they added an option for it???). the post process is always on and can't be turned off, and yet it makes THIS game slow
as a **** Most important of all, maybe it's just not me really, the textures of this game are
just like GTA SA's textures. I can barely see bad textures like the security guard's sleeveless
arms, hot dogs arms, atleast add hairy textures. Or the puddle.

    Raped FPS:
Logically, the graphics is horrible, then how come my PC can't meet the requirements
of this game? How GTA V ran on my PC so smooth without FPS issues? I'm 100% serious and I'm
    not the only one.

    Downloadable Contents:
Let's see, since CLOVER + Diamond, or JIRO + Gage Ninja Pack, SOKOL + Golden Grin came out on the same day, they are separated. THEY ARE SEPARATED. I MEAN A NEW CHARACTER IS FIT IN THE NEW HEIST TOGETHER IN THE SAME DAY THEY RELEASED, BUT THEY ARE SEPARATED! Let's not forget that each new DLCs come out every months. Let's talk about what kind of retarded DLCs I've mentioned. One have bows, flamethrower, grenade launcher and swords, shurikens. It gets better. Lethal cards.

Wait, I thought it's supposed to be a realistic heist shooter? I know what you're probably thinking, me **** Wrong. I own every DLCs except the retarded contents. I'm still buying DLCs.

    Bugs -
There's ALOT, AND ALOT of bugs that this game I'd embarrassed to label it as "Early Access", I'm not going to list it here because maybe OVERKILL would remove them here in this review. Fix everything god damnit! I'm just very worried what will happen in 2017 when OVERKILL leave. God knows how many cheaters there'll be. I'm very worried.
Cheaters: There are MANY 6 year olds hackers. Little **** always ruin everything. OVERKILL, it's
your responsibility to fix these bugs you lazy piece of **** the van will also gets its Overkill icon.

    Host games
"Player is joining the game". "Connection to host has been lost". I know, thank f***ing God in Payday 2 the loading is now faster than PD:TH. But it's still pretty ♥♥♥♥ing annoying to wait a few seconds while doing objectives then forgot what to do. And now this, whenever a host left, the game lobby is closed forcing everyone to leave. Just remove this feature for ♥♥♥♥s sake. MY POINT IS HERE, make a public party game without local host like in L4D, PLEASE!

    Lack of animations
98.99% This game is about interacting things like lockpicking, taking money, fixing saw, planting things and opening doors. Bots can do anything like parkour, reviving teammates and even do the infamous Heat speech.

    CRIMEFEST 2015. Obviously.

Two years ago, you said "We've made it clear that PAYDAY 2 will have no micro-transactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!" And they have lied. This pile of sh!thole micro-transactions introduced on Crimefest 2015 (Specifically, the challenge said four players must loot 4 cards in one game at the end of heist count by 1, and the goal was to reach 5,000,000 loot cards). The micro-transactions is about reskinned weapons, and they have boosted stats. Then, the rewards, we spent many hours of blood sweating, hardworking and waste our lives for challenges to get rewards. We finally have managed to complete all of it. Result for rewards? We recieve 1-2 horrible rewards DAILY. We got a few of unnecessary masks, stronger turret van (We never ask for this.), and bugfixes. IT'S TRUE, some rewards are very small bugfixes like filter stealth or loud and unnecessary weapon re-balances. We never ask for this.

Now they add XP and $ boosts like those you'll find in games like Warframe. Why is this bad? Because we're talking about a game that has over $100 worth of DLC's, which are often necessary to play the game because the default weapons are obsolete. Adding microtransactions that affect stats to a game that already have DLC's that affect stats and cost $15, to further add more microtransactions and pay2win boosts means only one thing: Overkill is blinded with greed, and for this exact reason players should let them drown in it. I won't tell you to stop playing the game, but don't buy anything else from them.
I don't like extremely greedy companies, hence my personal score.

Lots of guns, great soundtrack, really satisfying shooting and an awesome heist movie aesthetic that really tickles my jimmies. The first few games with friends or with strangers are going to feel really cool and immersive. But the cracks really start to show fast and repetition sets before long. Make no mistake: this is a game about grinding, and is designed to encourage it in every way.

The scale of time versus reward when playing on a moderate difficulty or just playing less rewarding heists is stupidly low, so it quickly becomes a game of identifying the best levels to grind and playing nothing but those. Equipment variety is tossed out the window if it doesn't help you complete those specific heists faster, and the community expects you to be on board with this. Sure you're not required to grind, but you'll find that not only are fewer people willing to play with you, it takes an agonizingly long time to acquire what you want.

And this is of course because the drop system is ridiculous and designed to make the game last way longer than it should. Weapon mods are awarded randomly and might not be for the weapon you want. Plus they require cash to attach... and then more cash to attach again if you swap them out for another. Mask customization materials are one-use only and also random. Everything is stretched out and limited that it almost feels like playing a free-to-play game that's nudging you towards microtransactions. More on those later.

But none of this is a deal-breaker for me yet. I don't mind a bit of mindless grinding. It's always been a game I play on the side of whatever else I'm actually playing, something where I don't have to think much and can just pull the trigger a lot. And it does get to be a lot of fun with friends for a while, especially when you're coordinating and pulling things off smoothly, especially the stealth approach, even if the stealth system is silly as hell.

I honestly don't mind a lot of DLC when I like a game. There is some really dumb and overpriced add-on content for sale with this game, and overall it's spread out over way too many different packs, each containing very little, but I've bought most of it anyway to support a game I was enjoying. The DLC situation has got worse and worse over time too, becoming less interesting with each release and coming more frequently. The heists are always fun and impressive, though there isn't a lot of game time with each one, and the weapon packs vary from useful and almost required for high-level play to utterly useless for anything but novelty.

I've shrugged off a lot of crap over the years with this game, still playing it and defending it despite how dumb it acts sometimes. The buggy and unpolished nature, the emphasis on constant grind, the excessive dlc, and of course just how braindead it actually is despite disguising itself as a sophisticated heist simulator. Weapon packs were fine. Character packs were fine. I've been consistently disappointed in the lack of actual upgrades and tweaking for the main game in favour of paid content, but tweaks don't pay the bills, I get it. It's not helped when the developers act obnoxiously "cool" and quote memes while they sell their new DLC and act like everything they do to the game is a huge favour, but I don't have to like the developers to like their game. At least they hadn't fallen victim to any F2P temptation yet.

But they finally did it. Rather than try to maintain the illusion that they were a cool, rebellious little studio that would never give in to mainstream pressures, microtransactions have arrived. Not only that, but they're not simply for aesthetic rewards either, but actually have gameplay effects. Even with the addition of rare free safe drops this has already broken the already very thin goodwill I had left for this company and I am very unlikely to support any of their future projects ever again. They've strung me along nicely so far and wrung money out of me as I continued to come back to their strangely addictive gunwank, but I'm done.

In short, this game was pretty fun for quite a while, but has gradually declined in quality over time. In its current state, there could not possibly be a worse time than now to get into this game if you haven't already. You missed the train and it's not coming back. Just keep moving. Nothing to see here.

Now we are on a path that totally destroyed the comunity trust. That was just a greedy and horrible move...

To new gamers, it's very important that you disregard any review that's too old, since it won't reflect the actual status of the game, it includes probably all the professional reviews.

In the beginning the game was about aiming carefully to conserve ammo, stick together to kill the specials and do the objectives, with the DLCs and free updates (explosive ammo, akimbos, critical hits (why do we need criticals on a action game???), snipers, RPGs) the game became just another hack and slash, you'd hardly end up without ammo and only an cloacker would be a threat (kind of).
The game became unispired and not about the player skills and team play, just about pray and spray or one shot kill tactics, the maps wasn't balanced in the experience rewards, very easy maps like Hoxton Breakout would give way more xp and money than a longer/harder mission like framing frame/firestarter, what transform the game in an infinite repetition of the same job.
The last nail on the payday coffin was the microtransactions, they are not just about cosmetic items (what I wouldn't like either, but would understand), but items that actually improve the performance.
As it wasn't enough, my AK rifle with DMR, that before was doing around 100 damage is now in the 180 damage, the skill necessary to play the game is now officially ZERO.

Micro-transactions... from now on most likely only new skins will be added.
    No new maps, nothing.
Only this kind of ,,content". Notice that sarcastic way i say content.
This is why PD2 gets a negative from me.

Absolutely awful business decisions by OVERKILL. I literally made an account to post this. You don't lie to the community and expect them to just forget. Terrible.

The game is very bad. There is very little to do without purchasing the game's DLCs, which total to $110 despite this game not being free to play. They also recently added microtransactions, something they said they would never do. Ever. If you want a similar experience to this game that you can enjoy at a fraction of the price, try the first game.

The developers are the insidious kind of weasels that cause nothing but grief to you. The amount of money you have to pay to unlock everything is now functionally infinite, because the skins involved in reaching the meta are all locked behind CS:GO paywalls. Don't buy it. At best, you're bored. At worst, you're hooked, and doomed to the same thousand-hour fate that I am. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

For a $20 game it is pretty nice...until you factor in the $110 of DLCs which isn't even the worst part since they decided we should pay them more money to buff our weapons with skins that contribute stats values.

$2.50 to open the new crates that will give you a skin for a weapon you might not even have.

The gameplay for this game is currently pretty great.
The developer has proven, through a pattern of dishonesty and disrespect toward the playerbase, to be untrustworthy deceptive. The future of this game is in jeopardy, and the developers don't care about players' opinions; they're pushing forward, full-throttle.

A great game, ruined with micro transactions and expensive never-ending DLCs. If you buy the base game, about 70% of the weapons are locked, DLC only.
Their goal is to rip off every penny you have with any way possible.

In short words: DLC infested trash.
    1. They promised us a lot of heists, but instead they recycle the existing 3 day jobs and make them 1 day job, or making the same heist "pro job" so it must be completed in one run.
    2. They sell content that should have been included in the base game, like snipers, shotguns, grenades,... 3. They sell character packs, one of which adds a huge boost to

    4. They shamelessly use payday 2 to promote other stuff, like john wick and hotline miami which are in no way connected to payday 2.
    5. The "free content" they always promise, and which fans use to defend their dlc policy is usually trash.
    6. They give updates as rewards to their community challenge.
    7. Prestiging system is horrible and it gives no rewards.
    8. Bascially the whole leveling system is based on grinding.
    9. Mods and developers are cocky and rude and they constantly lie.
    10. Many more things can be said but I'd have to type untill tomorrow...

The latest microtransaction drama confirms it all. Community should have rallied agains overkill a long time ago, finally something happened. Developers promised no microtransactions, but here they are.
They do some damage control and the worst thing is it actually works on some people. I hope this doesn't get swept under the rug like most of overkill's f***ups

The game is fun if you have friends to play with, public games are horrible. I had fun playing with friends, completing challenges and stuff. I didn't mind buying some dlcs while they were on sales but honestly i'm ashamed that i did. This selling content that should have been included should not be a standard.

Trash since even before they introduced the microtransactions that killed the game. Terrible support for fixing glaring game breaker bugs, zero communication to fix said bugs, all while pumping out DLC expecting more money, and finally attaching stat boosts to skins just so you can be competitive and actually win the game. PaytoWin, **** you Overkill.

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
