I’ve played another game from this developer, Summer in Mara, and I can see the rich world-building the team is developing across all of its titles as characters from Chibig’s other games made guest appearances in this one. I’m not sure everyone will have the appetite for the fetch quest, back and forth nature of Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, but I found the map size to be appropriate to balance that out. While it may need a little more time brewing in the cauldron, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain was a fun ride and just goes to show that Chibig is one developer worth keeping an eye on.

Mika and The Witch’s Mountain is pleasant enough that you probably won’t hate it, but it’s far from being a must-play. [Early Access Provisional Score = 65]

Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is as short as it is sweet, and while it might not be the most stunningly original or captivating game released this year, it has so much heart that it’s impossible not to lose yourself in its charming world and cast of characters. [Early Access Score = 70]

In all, Mika and the Witch's Mountain is an incredibly charming game that is easy to get into and just relax and unwind, with the only real issues being the short length and the map layout being a bit odd to get used to. When one of the biggest problems with a game is that there isn't a lot of it, that's when you know you have something wonderful on your hands. If you like games that are short, sweet, and relaxing, then Mika and the Witch's Mountain is definitely one to look out for. [Early Access Provisional Score = 88]

Mika and the Witch's Mountain is an aesthetically pleasing title from Spanish studio Chibig that respects and converses with the original medium from which it draws inspiration. It's a cute short coming of age adventure that elegantly touches on the condition of labor without reaching the point of becoming a preachy manifesto. [Early Access Score = 76]

The game could really expand on this area by adding more scenery in the nature areas, perhaps some animals, and giving the town a more lived-in, bustling feeling. While it may seem like a minor criticism, I think it could go a long way to make Mika and the Witch’s Mountain a better game than it is now. [Early Access Review]

Mika and the Witch's Mountain delivers a simple and relaxing gameplay experience, with great graphics and soundtrack. While the lack of content may be a turn-off at the early access launch, the game delivers solid gameplay and has a promising future. [Early Access Score =75]
