    A great game with a fun gameplay and well adapted to the original material. Any person who has read the books i think will have a great experience playing this game. Graphics are outdated but that is not as important as a good story and gameplay i believe.

    Our game handled a very boring process at first. Both because the game is mechanically difficult and the game engine's fighting and shooting mechanics are not good, it turns us off from the game. If you skip the first few hours, the later parts draw you in more. I think the game engine used is very inadequate. .So melee almost doesn't work at all. Also, things like weapon design and reticle calculation don't work well in my opinion. Even the atmosphere created by the producer company is very wonderful. In other words, a truly post-apocalyptic world has been created both outside the subway tunnels and inside the subway. Especially the daily routines of people trying to live in the subway are very well conveyed. For example, a child in one room draws a picture with chalk on the wall, while in the other room people eat He raises pigs in cages for them. In the next room, you see the injured people in the infirmary. Details like this and this really add a great atmosphere to the game. Even though the variety of weapons seems like a lot, the effect on the enemies is not very positive. I didn't like the weapon design either. Even if the accent is liked by people, I think it's a bit of a lousy dubbing. But the atmosphere sounds and the sounds of the enemies, look, they are very nice. The game opens as a storyline towards the end. There is a library section in particular, which I really liked. Especially the feeling of tension. this game gives you a good life there.

    I have played the original version of Metro 2033 on xbox 360 back in the days.
    This is a good remaster, gameplay is basically the same, graphic is pretty good.
    The plot is ok but the various missions are a little bit tedious and repetitive, go from point A to point B killing monsters and press a button or open a door.
    The game is pretty short, it took 9h to finish the game in normal difficulty.

    Had some problems, though. At one point (the battle between the Reds and the Nazis) when I got into the Nazi area, all the soldiers were animated - but there were rooted to the spot and completely unable to engage in combat. Needless to say, it was pretty easy to get through that section of the game - but hardly any fun!    Love the game, and the atmosphere and tension is intact.

    Had some problems, though. Further, if I tried to kill a soldier with a knife, the game hung, requiring me to restore to the last checkpoint. Also had a couple of complete hangs, requiring me to kill the program.

    Fortunately, it hasn't ever locked up my machine requiring a reboot (Windows 8).

    An overrated game. Sure it has,some good stuff,but those are not original or truly creative. Those things that are good, already can be found in other postapocalyptic games like fallout. (atmosphere,some closeness to reality,story etc.)

    Boring over-melodramatic start, nonsense propagandic middle and weak ending. Worst knife in gaming history - you won't hit anything, MC can defeat any human in CQC from one move, original weapons are straight from Fallout 4.

    I can't understand why people like this game. I prefer games that actually lets me play them. In this game you're probably going to be confused for one half of the game and not in control of your character the other half of the game. An interactive novel with a light FPS mini-game? If that's your cup of tea, go ahead. I don't enjoy it.

    Great looking levels and very atmospheric but the enemies are repetitive and annoying and the difficulty is uneven. I got sucked into this game at first and really enjoyed the first third immensely but after that it gets tedious and unforgiving as the enemies suddenly become extremely tough to tackle after the half way mark and you're basically forced into stealth gameplay which I reallyGreat looking levels and very atmospheric but the enemies are repetitive and annoying and the difficulty is uneven. I got sucked into this game at first and really enjoyed the first third immensely but after that it gets tedious and unforgiving as the enemies suddenly become extremely tough to tackle after the half way mark and you're basically forced into stealth gameplay which I really did not enjoy (it felt more like a chore at that point).     Don’t buy it on epic or play it on GeForce now as you can’t adjust gamma so the game is stuck at a dark brightness setting for the whole game(still no way to fix it).
    I have to admit that the Controls were intriguing and honestly a amazing system all around.    This game was very eye catching and fun in the beginning but once you start getting to the darker levels it becomes a clusterFück.

    but once you start running out of filters mid fight it starts to get aggravating, I’ll look past the running out of ammo a lot because that’s normal and can be fixed quickly by finding a dead body but the game becomes repetitive having to always be searching lockers and body’s just to find Some spare bullets to waste firing at groups of enemies.    … Expand

    I you like games that tell you exactly where to walk, have no scavenging, economy and strategy: by all means. Try this when you are fighting in the dark: shoot 1 bullet and all the enemies will walk towards you and you can kill them without moving with a headshot on their helmet lights. FUN!

    Bought this and Last Light redux for 8 bucks. More cutscenes than action. Dark, vague shooter. Got sick of cutscene after cutscene after cutscene, quit with about 30 minutes of cutscenes/5 minutes of boring action. No strategy whatsoever, I honestly suspect that any good reviews are coming from those promoting the game, it was that bad for me, but for only 8 bucks, I suppose i could countBought this and Last Light redux for 8 bucks.     For me the only good thing was the graphic.
    A linear tunnel, with skippable enemies, awful AI, shooting mechanics disappointing and anonymous settings.

    Metro 2033 Redux still has annoying bugs like NPCs getting stuck and auto save in locations where you can't get out. And sometimes you die, because your gas filter runs out during a cut scene... right after the game autosaved.

    The game is great at its core, but all this crap in an "improved" version is absolutely unacceptable. Quality assurance and testing for this game have completely failed.

    If you don't have 2033 this would be a great time to get it, if you do, like me, it is a total rip-off and a waste of your time and money. i'm so angry and disappointed, I wish i'd seen a review like this before i bought it because i had suspicions but there wasn't any to be found. Don't buy it if you own the original!!

    If I wanted to watch a movie, I would watch a movie. This game is PACKED with boring and unskippable cutscenes in horrifically annoying Russian accents. When you can actually play, the gameplay is clunky and clumsy. Terrible game, poor execution and absolutely zero fun.

    Don't like that you can't save or reload whenever you want. There is only auto save and reload from last checkpoint if you die. I got to Lost tunnels followed Bourbon and he's turning    Not sure what Iam doing or where Iam going.     I got to Lost tunnels followed Bourbon and he's turning the wheel to open a gate and all of a sudden I get weird cutscenes and my character falls to the ground gasping and dies, think it's something to do with the gas mask and then reload from last checkpoint and the same thing happens, Iam stuck. This is frustrating and annoying as it reloads just before I die and I can't do anything to fix it as you only get one reload checkpoint.

    That really pisses me off, not worth wasting my time on this.
    I don't like this game at all, it's strange like Iam just in some movie I barely have any control over.
    The only good thing about the game is the atmosphere but I hate this game otherwise, it's just horrible and frustrating and not fun at all.

    I got both Metro games in a bundle for 90% off. I expect Last Light will be more of the same rubbish.

    Whoof. Glad I didn't buy the whole Redux package. This game doesn't work for my PC, or quite a few other PCs for that matter. On paper, I should be able to run this software with no issue, but it crashes immediately. Hoping to play a highly regarded game, redone for a decent price. They've had plenty of time to address these issues. Not impressed.

    I hate when you die, and try the same scene from the same check point over and over again till you finally find the one option that works. I also hate when you bump into stuff and have to wiggle the stick to get your guy to walk down the little path without falling or some other thing like that. The Audio is terrible, the words cant be understood.     As others said, it's a pretty game. Nice gunplay, good story, creepy atmosphere. Proper difficulty options for players. All around a pleasant experience. A nice upgrade over the original.

    Terrible level design. The problem I have with these games is getting lost in a linear designed campaign. Where do you go what are you supposed to do? Dead City is a perfect example of this. You can give all the accolades you want. But honestly does anyone take the time to actually think about guiding the player on their objective with these games?

    Bad game in my opinion, boring gameplay, not much to explore and what you explore is just so simple that it doesn't make up for low/bad exploration part of game, game is just not good, only good thing is atmosphere and music but for that I can just listen to soundtrack, performance on pc is not good. Not recommended!

For many levels, the only way to approach combat is stealth or you will die quickly. The lighter is a nice touch when you use it to burn cobwebs in the tunnels.

    I found the difficulty a little bit broken at times especially during the "War" level.    Very atmospheric post-apocalyptic first person shooter and quite scary as you navigate the tunnels of the underground Metro of Moscow. For many levels, the only way to approach combat is stealth or you will die quickly. The lighter is a nice touch when you use it to burn cobwebs in the tunnels.

    I found the difficulty a little bit broken at times especially during the "War" level. When the Russians spot you, they announce "He's HERE!!!" in a heavy russian accent which was quite humorous. However, if you come out of stealth you will quickly perish.

    If you enjoy Wolfenstein, you will probably like this as well but there's definitely less ammo. Part of the puzzle is finding out where to go through the campaigns linear levels.

    Probably the hardest first-person shooter of last gen. For some reason, Metro Exodus looks more forgiving but that's probably wishful thinking.    … Expand

    I've never seen a game so buggy. almost every mission has a npc that you have to follow and each time he gets stuck somewhere and you have to reload the game until there is one who constantly does not want to move and cannot move forward.

    One of the most atmospheric and immersive first person shooters of recent years becomes even better, by enriching its gameplay, normalizing its performance and enhancing its graphics, with the use of the latest 4A engine features. Its main disadvantage is the discontinuation of price discount for those who already own the original Metro 2033 upon official release.
