It took some time for me to warm up to Mega Man X Dive Offline, but it’s reached a point where I have a hard time putting it down.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline is an unusual game to review. I wouldn’t label it as “good,” and I wouldn’t recommend it to newcomers to the franchise. Given its nature as a collection of Mega Man characters, it’s evident that this game is designed for fans. Nevertheless, I can’t help but appreciate it on principle. For the sake of preservation and making the game accessible to those who dislike gacha experiences, Mega Man X DiVE Offline is a commendable effort, showing that all gacha titles should offer offline versions so that both contemporary and future audiences can enjoy them without the burden of excessive monetization.

Being able to obtain any items or characters really creates a outstanding game since gatcha games usually have very complex mechanics to try to make you waste money, but in this case you are free to experiment and try different items, weapons, characters etc without losing anything. There is plenty of missions with more or less all previous events being available and the full campaign.

Only thing bringing the score down for me is the really bad UI and lack of proper controller support in menus forcing you to use the mouse to navigate everything, but overall the game plays fine and there is no major issues with it. If they ever update the UI and control scheme this would be a 8/10 game easily for me.

Definitely a step in right direction for game preservation and hopefully many more companies will follow what Capcom did here, so I am hopping that this game will succeed.
