If you're a Medal of Honor multiplayer junkie looking for a new fix, you'll get considerably more mileage out of it, especially the Tug Of War mode.

Dying repeatedly to learn the magic path can get tiresome, even in a short game. [Feb 2003, p.81]
  3. Rather like Half-Life’s "Blue Shift" expansion, Spearhead is over in barely three hours... It’s only because Spearhead chimes in at 20 quid or thereabouts that we don’t rip it apart – as it is, it’s rather like buying a DVD of your favourite war flick.

Spearhead's default movement is also faster, which makes the game livelier: But if you're only interested in single player, there may not be enough here to sway you. [Mar 2003, p.70]
  5. Spearhead isn't a disappointment, exactly, because the three hours of gameplay are excellent, and arguably better than the original missions of "Allied Assault."
  6. It could have been great, but some poor design choices, like the way your allies cannot fall in battle, really ruin the experience.

It doesn't change anything gameplay wise, although it features new locations to fight on both solo and in multiplayer, as well as new weapons like my favorite the Sten. The solo missions are very short and you will spend around 2-3 hours trying to complete them depending on the difficulty setting you are playing on. There is one really hard and almost unfair mission where you are on a halftruck and you shoot at tanks, infantry, nebelwerfer and you are vulnerable to all of them since the health bar is not the one of the truck but yours. I used quicksave a lot to get past it at some points during my run but all in all I must have died 10 times tops. Another trick is to use the console to heal yourself but I didn't use it as I felt it wasn't that hard . I played the expansion on Normal. Gary Oldman reciting poems and letters before and after each mission is really good but not as much as Reznov in CoD but still a nice touch. It's a short and sweet treat for someone craving more of that Allied Assault gameplay... Full Review »
