CD-ActionOct 25, 2019The story made me uneasy not because I thought: ‘those are the kind of things that shouldn’t be said out loud’ but because I thought: ‘it’s unsettling how poorly it is written, how badly they depicted a child’s naivety and how everything is just too over the top’. Dec 16, 2019Right now, Little Misfortune is at the top of my personal list of bitter disappointments of 2019. I would have overlooked many of its flaws, if it were just a pilot episode in a series. Alas, this is a finished product.

Sep 20, 2019Despite having my skin crawl at almost everything Mr. Voice said, his breaking the fourth wall to rope the player into his scheme creates an awful sense of complicity. Thankfully, this is directly balanced by the joy whenever you can lead Misfortune into any small act of rebellion against him. It’s a giddy combination of adult smugness at getting one over on a rival combined with childish conspiratorial whispering under a blanket fort.
