This game is so fun, the DEA should put people in jail for playing it. I has a 6 player coop where playing as a team actually matters. People that like to wander away from the group end up dead. 6 classes that impact the game in their own unique ways.

AND the game is fully modifiable for tons of extra fun beyond the core game.

The game isn't that good... it was pretty bad in my opinion. it's buggy and it has a lot of errors. the graphics are pretty bad, and the animations are terrible. i do like the slowmotion effects, and the game can be really fun with friends. overall, not good enough for an 7/8.

I play the game regularly, and I have to say that I don't get bored of it. Remember it is not a Call Of Duty run in and gun, but a game which requires the player to take on enemies specifically accordingly to perk and weaponry. This is a game truly for people who want a vivid, groundbreaking time and are up to complexly challenging difficulty ( Suicidal and Hell On Earth Difficulty ). I recommend any FPS player who loves zombie/infected/mutated genre to take on this game. Expand

Dosh grab it while it's hot!

Anyways metal, zombies, blood and gore, zombies, guns, zombies= all out fun!
If your bored of the official maps than checkout the ones by other players.
They have special events in game for the holidays such as Christmas and Halloween, also a summer event. Nothing like slaying mutated rednecks (wait there's no difference between a mutated one and a normal one).

This is a simple and great game. Nothing fancy, some glitches, simply AI, but really a lot of unadulterated fun. sit back and enjoy killing some zombies, sometimes you might actually find yourself being a little frightened. MAYBE. Probably not, if you're like me, you shoot the **** out of everything that moves. Lots of fun, it doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not.

One of the best zombie shooters i've ever played by far, it's fun witty and will keep you on your toes. very underrated and should have been alot more popular then it should have been, having said that there is no shortage of players for you to team up with and frag some zombies.

Killing Floor is interesting when you're playing with friends, although it does get quite boring eventually. I liked the slow-mo effect whenever someone does headshots, but there is quite lag, even on a server you host on your own sometimes. It's occasional, but sometimes it's annyoing because a lag might cause you to die.

It's an okay game, I wouldn't buy it at full priced though. I

I must begin by saying I spend an absolute ridiculous amount of time playing Killing Floor (nearing 400 hours played) and even I will have to admit that yes, the game can get repetitive at times. The solution to that is typically trying a more advanced difficulty; even when you know what to expect the harder difficulties presented in the game are truly a challenge. You

What really falls in this game, is the extreme repetition. the game is based on clearing 10 waves, plus an 11th which is the final boss, using a team of 6 soldiers that uses (very well) different classes in order to wipe the monsters. However, the levelling procedure is EXTREMELY slow and will take lots and lots of time in order to reach max level, especially when each class have their own way to level up (firebug= roast some monsters; Medic= heal tons of time; Support= weld a lot of doors). However, this game is really fun though, especially if you play with friends or have a clan to play with, especially because it's NOT an easy game (except low levels): it's a game that encourages team work and a lot of defensive maneuvers, which isn't very easy to do if your team is clueless on what to do, and the classes must be used wisely too (the sharpshooter, for instance, can almost one-shot most of the biggest enemies, while the firebug is a good crowd controller). It's a very repetitive and simple game, but that simplicity has a lot of deep into it. Give it a try, I really recommend to give it a look if you're looking for a different team based shooter. Expand

I give Killing Floor a 10 because of what it is. Many people gave KF a score of 7 or below, or 70 or below (for "professional" reviewers). KF was built on the Unreal Engine 2 (or 2.5), and if it is poorly optimized, then that is a problem with the engine, not the game. It is repetitive. Yes, that's because it has one objective: shoot specimens. L4D is repetitive, too! "Shoot never ending waves of zombies. Go here. Repeat." At least KF has "perks" which reward your play style without harming your gaming experience at all. In fact, it may aid it! I remember selecting the Support Specialist perk, which adds a bonus to carry weight, and picking up explosive weapons (from the Demolitionist perk) so I could carry more weapons! Of course, reviewers pass over these pluses and simply go straight for the negatives. Ignore them. Killing Floor is a great game that is MEANT to be repetitive: get better at the game at all the maps it has, with all the perks it has to offer, on all the difficulty levels it has to offer. Play with friends to make it more interesting. Killing Floor is extremely replay-able, L4D is not. I have a total of 14 hours playing L4D, 17 for L4D2. That was after a couple play-throughs for each. Killing Floor? 201 hours. And that's because I have a real life to attend to. I keep going back to KF because it is addicting (repetitive, for you ignorant folks), and the community is great. I definitely recommend this game for its excellent playability and "fun factor." Expand

For those of you thinking Left 4 Dead (L4D) franchise is better, your entitled to your opinion, but I may have to disagree with you. Each of these games are different and bring different qualities of gaming to the table. Whereas L4D franchise will take the fabled zombie apocalypse more seriously and try to be more realistic about how scary it might be, Killing Floor revels in the many opportunities you'll get to kill hordes of zombies. Basically it comes down to the very nature of how one might wish to combat certain death. You can either move from place to place cowering in fear in L4D safe houses, or you can laugh in the face of death and move from place to place buying weapons from the same merchant who knows all the good hiding spots and could never possibly think to harbor anyone else because she needs money in an apocalyptic future that still somehow has a working economy, especially for buying/selling guns which you will be spending all your money on in Killing Floor. Point is, Killing floor has bucket loads of replay-ability. Expand

Also, some modded maps support many dozens of characters. I once saw a modded match containing 300 players. All modded content in a map is downloaded when you join a server- no work on your part required. The community is active and large as of August 2012.
The game is easy enough to run for even people with basic, old and outdated pcs to have fun in 6 person matches, but if you have a god pc, you can jack up all the graphical options and join massive matches as well.

There is no story or anything of that sort, but the gameplay definitely makes up for it. It involves you fighting off waves of zombie-like creatures together with teammates, then buying better guns and fighting even tougher creatures. The enemy creatures that you face are very intriguing. Each one has its own means of attacking you and its own backstory. There is also a very impressive selection of guns that you get to use to fight the creatures off. The players also get to choose their class. The class system is great, because it allows teammates to specialise, what means that teamwork is encouraged greatly. It's quite flexible still as you are not limited to certain weapons with each class. It's just that you get different bonuses. And then there are some minor RPG elements present. You get to level up each class and get better at certain types of weapons depending on your style of play. Killing Floor is an incredibly fun co-op shooter, but it's not so much its huge selection of guns or a lot of gore that make it so fun, but it's the sense of teamwork that it brings about to the players. My favorite part of the game is the fact that you will usually never win if you do not have a good team with you, it is NOT by any means an easy game that you can mess around in, if any players are bad they will hurt you and your team in many ways, when there are multiple bad/inexperienced players in your game I can guarantee you that you will not win unless you are playing on the easiest mode in the game (beginner mode), that being said the game forces everybody to work together using a myriad of different tactics. The class system is also flawless, all 7 perks in the game take a very long time to rank up to level 6. And with each of those levels your class becomes much more effective, which practically balances out the game, in that if you play as a level 4 sharpshooter on hard mode you will usually always do MUCH better than somebody who is playing as a level 0 - 3. The in-game soundtrack is also great, every song will seem weird at first but they eventually start to grow on you. Overall, Killing Floor is a master piece in the world of co-operative gaming. 1. Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.
  2. Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.
