Killing floor is a wave based, co-op, zombie survival game. Its addictive perk leveling system and regular updates from Tripwire, will keep me playing for days and days. This game really shouldn't be compared to L4D. Both are great games but they have completely different play styles.

It's a very (VERY) good game, I'd probably say the best FPS I've played. I bought KF before LFD and wow when I played LFD I thought to myself "Why did I pay money for this?" I mean seriously KF just blows it out of the water.

Killing Floor tests your accuracy and reactions to the max. Absolutely brilliant game play. The only reason I am not giving this game a 10 is because the avatars look slightly dated; however the environments are superb and can be quite scary at times. The other reasons I am not giving this a 10 is because you cannot see what wave the server is at before joining and if you join round 7 - 10 and no one gives you any money; you are stuck with a pistol, knife and no body armour and normally die pretty quick. I wish tripwire would add an update so the servers display "Wave X" making it easier to choose a server rather than hanging around in a match because you died early. I will be playing this game for a very long time. There is plenty of life in this game especially with the levelling up of classes. I can never picture myself becoming bored of this game. If you like the Left 4 Dead games you will love Killing Floor. Highly recommended. Expand

An incredibly fun game, almost at the standards of even Left 4 Dead. Perks make the game less repetitive, and there are many well made maps, with more coming from the players. It's priced at only $20 and it is often on sale. I picked mine up for $5 and couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend this game to a fan of Left 4 Dead, or any FPS in general.

Again, not as add-ons, but for free. Only real complaints are shoddy menus, shoddy third-person models, and repetitive game play.

Begginer is well, way too easy and boring. Normal is well, hard, the fact that in a matter of waves it is way to easy from being overran to die. The single play is the worst thing ever. It is scary, but WAY too hard on anything other than begginer. Now the zombies are probbly the best thing of the game, they have great design and each has a special power including the average zombie. Finally the lag, OH GOD THE LAG. I get about what, 120 ping and the AI just jacks up to a point where a zombie 30 ft. away from you teleports straight to ya and takes about 20 life away. This may seem like it makes it bad BUT THIS IS A GOOD GAME! I'm sure if they make a Killing Floor 2 They could fix this into a one-hell-of-a-killing-game. And people that say its a waste of money, it isn't. It really passes that time when your stuck there thinkin about what to do today. I think you should buy this game if you don't mind the low-ish graphics (It really doesn't bother me.) Expand

This game is one of the best to play with friends. Much better than L4D or L4D2. The graphics are neat, the gameplay is amazing (killing zombies for LOADSA MONEYYYYYY, who wouldn't love it?), this game was one of my favorites last year.
I think the reason more people don't know about it is because it's not out for consoles. But then again, most good things aren't.

It turns the old survival concept into an incredible cooperative experience. The reason people are not enjoying this is because they haven't taken the time to level up and play higher difficulties. When you have a team of people who are masters of their perk; it becomes non-stop intensity. Character design, classes, leveling system, enemy design and map design are fantastic. It may seem repetitive to some, but with the unlimited amount of strategies that can be thought out; the fun never ends! Professional Critics are stating it to be a Left 4 Dead rip-off; they are wrong. It's not a matter of opinion here, because the original Killing Floor mod came out before Left 4 Dead. I was hesitant at first to pick up the game because of he reviews. Then I was forced (gifted) it by a friend, and so I tried it out and thought it was decent. But I haven't had this much fun since CS:S and Halo 2. I'm looking forward to upgrades, some of the negative reviews here do have a point. It could use a few more gametypes. Expand

Killing Floor is an action packed FPS co-op zombie shooter, where you and your buddies go through waves of zombies with chainsaws, crossbows, grenades and a lot more. The game is pretty straightforward (which some may not like about it) and can be very addicting. The graphics, on the other hand, may not be "up to par" with today's FPS's, but nevertheless, the game runs smoothly and looks great.

This is a major turn-off for most people. If you like a challenge & plenty of teamwork, this game is for you. It also test the skills of the player as there is no cross hair and you have to look down the sights. A plus side to this game is that there is a "perks" system will player can level up, making their character more powerful, depending on the "perks" & the weapons they choose. It may seems boring & difficult to play at first but it sure gets a lot easier later. Players can also choose their difficulty which is a plus for new players. It's pretty straight forward and it goes something like this. In multiplayer or solo mode, you start the game off by killing as many monsters as you can within the "wave countdown timer"...You are rewarded money for each kill you get. Once the countdown ends, a trail of red lights will lead you to the weapon shop. You can run to the shop and buy stronger weapons and armor. After that, the next wave starts. If your team survives all the waves, a cut scene appears and the boss comes out...Kill the boss and you win the wave and move on to the next map. Mind you that the game allows you to vote for maps. Going back to the "level ups"...Once you get used to the game, you can start focusing on leveling up your player so you can obtain stronger weapons and armor. This game features only one mode, which gets repetitive after you have played it several times, the AI nothing special, its all scripted. the weaponry seems to be the most developed section, yet you need to buy your weapons from a vendor, the vendor is a female women with quite a repetitive stereotypical english accent with poor dialogue that gets annoying the first time you hear it. the graphics are sub-par , but from a mod why would you expect more? i'l tell you why; because this Mod makes you pay for it, and it is certiantly not worth it. Killingfloor should essentially be free, or it should drastically improve. its no Garrry's Mod, its no Team fortress ( which was orignally a mod ) I cant understand the fuss being generated over this mediocre peice of work. Each Class has there own set of multiple weapons to choose from. You have a weight limit, and your movement speed is dependent on how much weight you are carrying. Also, there's ZED time. Basically "bullet time" it's activated when you or someone else in the map does something "impressive" like a major crit or killing multiple specimens with one shot etc. Everyone on the map goes into ZED time and your reaction time is improved for a very short time, in which you have the opportunity to line up perhaps a couple head shots. There are a couple classes that even have the ability to extend the ZED time once it's activiated, depending on whether or not the circumstances are right. I played L4D when it first came out...for quite a whiiiiiile...I got my Zoey up to lvl...er...honestly, L4D is great. It's just like most other shooters tho. One thing i love about Killing Floor is that there are no crosshairs. If you choose not to use the iron sights then you'll really be firing from the hip, and you'll have to learn where you're aiming, kuz sometimes you don't have the luxury of using the iron sights. But the learning curve is nothin. If you've played games like Crysis and Far Cry 2 on the hardest difficulty you'll fit right in. Be prepared to really work together tho, the Devs did a great job of balancing everything. You'll be able to tell when you stop playing on normal and hard modes and get yourself lvled up to 4 or higher and start playing on the suicidal mode...talk about adrenaline! Expand

Comparison with L4D: much more variety in terms of maps, weapons and solutions to stay alive. l4d has better graphics and you can play zombies. since i started KF i stopped playing l4d, l4d just hasn't this long term fun compared to KF, the really huge amount of custom maps are the main reason therefore. Despite this game having the lowest metacritic score on my games list, it's undoubtedly my most played. The game is simple yet addictive. Killing Floor doesn't hide behind shiny graphics or a carefully crafted backstory to get you "entertained", it throws you in a map with guns, friends, and a horde of mutants and says "enjoy". If you're more concerned with how well wet rocks reflect light than blasting that monster gnawing on your arm, then the game isn't for you. There's a ton of servers even after you put on plenty of filters, so there's never a worry about not finding a server to play on, the only downfall is that you never know what wave the server is on; joining matches where they're a round from the final boss or already killing it happens way too often. Overall, I give this game a 10/10 simply because the ratio of the hours I've played verses money I spent exceeds 10; in fact, it exceeds 20. eat that L4D. Expand

Killing floor first felt to me like a poorly constructed game, but after giving it another go i found it seriously entertaining, Im in disbelief that it only has a score of 71 and yet Modern warfare 2 has a score of 87 on PC when no one likes the PC release? Are you kidding me, at least KF has some fun to it. Bullettime is great. Downloadable Weapons! The best of all 6 player co-op!

Awesome game, and for $20 I dunno if there's anything out there that compares. They've put out additional content for FREE too- more that Valve can say after promising and not delivering on L4D...

Very fun game, leveling up with friends and making epic last stands on suicidal mode make this game well worth the money.

I really have to say that this game deserves more credit then it gets. Tripewire is doing a great job on patching and releasing new things in the game. The graphics aren't the best, but not bad either, but you really don't mind that since you'll be too busy poppin' ZED heads!

I got this game when it first came out and i found myself glued to the seat, but about a week later i started to get bored. a month or so later, i found out that the dev team was keeping good to their updates and improving gameplay and adding more of everything like guns and zombie type experiments. This game is seriously better then most games that i pay full price for. This is one of the few games that I will revisit time and again. 1. Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.
  2. Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.

While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
