    I am 35 and have been a big gamer all my life. I've played 100's of games in almost all the genre's. This game is a masterpiece and deserves recognition for all the hard work that went into it. Snowflakes can go cry while I'm slaying trolls and riding hippogriffs like a wizarding boss.    … Expand

    i love it, its a great game. Will play it again and im really looking forward to new dlcs, there is so much you could do(Quditcch, Triwizard Tournament or even a Year 6 ?) i love it this could be one of the best games in years. Dont listen to the woke poeple talking trash this game is REALLY Great

    This is just a dream come true for longtime Harry Potter fans. Is this the next Breath of the Wild? No. But it's an amazing open world game with decent immersion and a literal ton of things to do.
    Make sure you update to the latest drivers for your video card though, was a little choppy before I did that.

    As a Harry Potter fan for 20 years, I finally found the game I wanted. The many interactions you can experience while traveling to Hogwarts and learning powerful magic are very interesting. I'm looking forward to additional contents!

Constant suttering, lag, freeze, crash, textures loaded litterally seconds after they should be, no matter your config or the game settings (low to ultra). Some people seem to run the game fine, even with entry level configs , it seems very random.
    Developper MUST know the problem, but they released the game anyway in this state.

    I've heard about HP movies before, but not really a fan of it. Just tried this game since my friend recommended it to me. But to my surprise, this game is awfully gooood, the graphics, environment, soundtrack and voice acting are on point. I just want to add that the optimization on this game is excellent, I could play the game at 1440 with only 6600xt. By the way, the combat mechanics forI've heard about HP movies before, but not really a fan of it. Just tried this game since my friend recommended it to me. But to my surprise, this game is awfully gooood, the graphics, environment, soundtrack and voice acting are on point. I just want to add that the optimization on this game is excellent, I could play the game at 1440 with only 6600xt. By the way, the combat mechanics for this game doesn't feel grindy.     I want to give this game a 9/10, but I can't. My conscience does not allow me. The game is beautiful, yes, it's the game that all fans want, yes, but the performance in the PC version is very bad, frame drops, stuttering, etc, by now we all know that. The video game industry should have more respect for consumers, I bought the deluxe version, almost finishing the main story, and with a badI want to give this game a 9/10, but I can't. My conscience does not allow me. The game is beautiful, yes, it's the game that all fans want, yes, but the performance in the PC version is very bad, frame drops, stuttering, etc, by now we all know that. The video game industry should have more respect for consumers, I bought the deluxe version, almost finishing the main story, and with a bad performance experience over the last few days, with no patch fix in sight.     Amazing game. Honestly in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Sure the frame rate can drop sometimes but besides that the game is beautiful and is full of content. I can’t get enough. One of my favorite features is the gear you can equip but change how it looks to other items you’ve found. You can tell the people making the game are real gamers. Not a cash grab at all

    I am liking the game and graphics are good but one issue... it doesn't have the mystery, magic and warm of Hogwarts. You don't have the magical experience of 9 and 3 quarters and the train ride into Hogwarts, everything feels to easy to get into and visit, no need for a cloak, no real feeling of welcomed into ur house and class mates, feels less exciting. the colors feel like Skyrim, sameI am liking the game and graphics are good but one issue... it doesn't have the mystery, magic and warm of Hogwarts.     Hogwarts Castle is so well done it feels like it was pulled from my imagination.

    The Forbidden forest is so incredible and alluring that it actually provides an ominous feeling.

    The map is so ALIVE and vibrant, it's just stunning.

    (Apparently there are people saying they have had performance/FPS issues?)

    I have had no issue(s) in that capacity game play wise or other etc, it has been a smooth and fun ride.

    The Game itself truly truly felt like coming home.

    VERY VERY VERY GOOD GAME!

    The game is amazing. One of the best games I've ever played. There have been some FPS drop issues and stutter problems that have been an issue on PC, but other than that it's been a wonderful experience.

    Excellent, marvelous, incredible, this is the best game I have played in 2023. If you are an RPG lover, I mean a true RPG Fantasy lover, this is the game for you. Worth every penny.

Я принципиально против что бы ЛГБТ лезли в мою жизнь, что бы они диктовали разработчикам какие игры они должны делать, я против сцен однополой любви в играх, которые я играю. Почему меня и моих детей заставляют это смотреть? Я в таком случае хочу что бы на играх писали что есть сценыИгра просто шикарная.     Would be a perfect 10 if not for performance issues. Love the expanse of the world, even outside the castle, the awesome cinematics, and simple but fun gameplay. So much to do that it slams that nostalgia button hard.

    Amazing game, definitely a game of the year contender, does have some technical issues that should be mitigated with patches and drivers, if you like open world rps then this is a no brainer, stop wasting your time reading reviews and get it.

    I've only watched the 3 movies (started the first one last week) so don't know much about the universe but I still really enjoy the game to the point I already got about 10 hours in within 2 days of release.

    Normally I despise magic systems, this magic combat is however enjoyable! I play on Hard mode and have to say the challenge still feels fair and I actually get a thrill out of fighting, not many games can do hard mode well but I have to say it really just feels like the devs paid attention to balancing modes outside of normal mode as well.

    This is the only game next to Cyberpunk 2077 where I actually got immersed in the world and started exploring, doing little side content and side quests without really rushing main quests. The world-building is great, puzzles are fun but get repetitive as there are a lot of the same ones.

    Leveling is also not done like most RPGs, you actually HAVE to explore the world to level, it's great design really.

    It's also very great to see this game does not have microtransactions or booster-type things. You pay for the game and you get the content, no stupid grinding to entice you to pay for an xp booster.    … Expand

I don't regret buying this game. I want to point out that there hasn't been anything so delightful in the Harry Potter universe for a long time. All these newfangled political views and the flow of feces due to other people's views can only harm the development of the world. Do not touch the beautiful Universe of magic and this game, leave it outside of your "new" and "correct" outlook on life..    … Expand

    The fight system is great! The castle is huge! 16 hours in, and still haven't seen all the the castle has to offer!

    For grown ups, it is not harmfull! For kids, it can be a transgender trojan horse with the character creator, and the in game NPC trans character! So be advised, and watch out for your child!    … Expand

    I’ve experienced 15h of game play so far. Minimal spoilers ahead: HL is simply a nostalgic game, with an enchanting ambience and quite captivating story. A must for longtime fans of the series, no matter the age.

    You can get lost in the story for hours. There’s a great number of side quests, with variety involving fetching, brewing potions, flying challenges, defeating a number of enemies    I’ve experienced 15h of game play so far. Minimal spoilers ahead: HL is simply a nostalgic game, with an enchanting ambience and quite captivating story. A must for longtime fans of the series, no matter the age.

    You can get lost in the story for hours. There’s a great number of side quests, with variety involving fetching, brewing potions, flying challenges, defeating a number of enemies - including with specific spells or items.

    The NPCs, in emphasis the companions and professors, are relatable with very interesting backstories and tidbits of information.
    Classes are FUN! I wish we were able to attend more classes, or that they’d be more consistent time wise.

    The map is huge, with a lot of exploration. You can unlock landmarks regarding location, enemies, beasts etc. by completing quests or just using a simple revealing spell.

    The visuals are beautiful, but the performance is not quite up to the game overall quality. In my case, my pc is between the minimum and recommended specs. I believe they’ll release a path to reparo and optimize the gameplay. Yet, even with hiccups and slight FPS drops, I give this game a 9.5/10.    … Expand

    I would give this a 10 but there are problems with performance issues, apart from that it is one of the best games I've ever played in 2023, lets hope all devs keep the same practice and become what Hogwarts Legacy day one

    The best game based on wonderful lor. I rad JKR books many times and for me it's first opportunity be active part of it. I hope, that stupid hate can't spoil results of work a lot of people, who spent a lot of time for creating this fantastic game.

    Absolutely amazing game, Even though there are pc performance issues, they will be fixed soon by Nvidia updates and game updates. Best game I have ever played. Tied with Dark and Darker for me.

Extremely LGBTQ+ INCLUSIVE with the best character inclusions that don't feel forced and don't sum them up as what they are but who they are! The most open character creator in terms of gender freedom ever. Incredibly great and fun game play, fun mechanics,Amazing game. Insane amount of exploration and exciting secrets, Easter eggs, magic, gorgeous views and magical nooks and crannies.     The amount of detail and world building within this game is second to none! I've never enjoyed just exploring and marveling at the small details like I have in this game. The controls felt fluid and easy to dive into and the story was compelling enough to make me motivated in continuing to play through.

    Very well done.

The dialogues are the weakest part of the game, when it should have been the strongest.

    The world does not feel like it is in the same universe as the Harry Potter movies. I don’t know why, but it just doesn’t.

    The quests are made by a Ubisoft book - in order to get “A” go get/do/speak to “B”, “C” and “D”. There is a better way to build quests and tell the story. Just look at CDPR or Rockstar... I am 8 hours into the game and it is still boring, still going strong with tutorials…

    It’s 2023 outside, but the game world and textures looks like 2010, honestly.

    I bought it for 40 euros and I don’t think it is worth more.    … Expand

    Metacritic is calling all 7's a Mixed result for Hogwarts Legacy instead of Positive as they do for EVERYTHING else.

    The game is both stable and has a lot of enjoyable gameplay, as well as covering all the major elements and areas of the movies. It is not perfect, but is far better than most games today.

    This is the first game I’ve played in a long time where I lost track of time. Before I knew it I was 5 hours in and felt like I barely scratched the surface. The visuals are amazing, controls feel good so far, some stutter issues that I hope they work out with a patch. Overall, solid 9 out of 10.

Its an open world game, that's also contained. Its a game that will work well with past gen and new gen tech.     Pretty good game about 5 hours in. The start is horrible though, I cannot understand how one could make it that bad. And I do think the performance is pretty bad on most average systems as the world and things in it are many and big, but cant complain on a 3070x13600k.
    The combat was atually better than I thought but nothing special so far.

    The graphics can be nice but it does not really feel like the game came out in 2023, especially the menu etc is quite slowish, though it seems more suited for a console than PC.

    The most critically bad thing so far is the amount of diversity. In 1800s England (200 years back from Harry Potter as far as I understand) and your teachers are Arabic/indian, East-Asian, vendors are women with male voices, the first character I met outside Hogwarts was a 60 year old woman talking about her wife Priya, many African Vendors and students from Uganda (this could actually work but if they were born in UK they wouldn't be talking like they are from the most distant tribes in said countries/continents. it really is a shame as this experience is supposed to be british, not Asian, African or a same-gender-love accepting soceity, sadly as was the reality(and yes this is fiction but based in the real world). Which makes me sad to see the game go so hard in that direction just because JK Rowlings happens to think that those who can give birth are women, which should be acceptable to agree with.

    Also weird that there is no "bad person" on school yet with a gang walking around and most people you ever talk to there are people who experience bullying, which do happen to be fair, but every single student being bullied? Also when you get sorted the one talking is not the headmaster but a random professor, and the headmaster shows me a random student to the dorm? Odd.
    Something is off with the FOV (still after changing it) and movement, it doesn't feel natural.

    The headmaster seems to have suprisingly little authority as well which is important for this world to work. Also think its fair to say that the character creation is pretty subpar, you have about 10 faces to choose from which cannot be changed, the haircuts are awful in graphics and style, the voices are the worst because there is just 2 and then you have 4 versions of that voice tweaked, the tweaked once are so poorly made it cannot be used.

    Its a pretty solid 7 so far but I can see it fall to a 6.5 or bounce up to a 7.5 depending on how it unfolds. Hopefully the diversity is enough by now, if only it was a truly british only 1800s experience, that would have been incredible to experience.    … Expand

The music is remarkable, you can even hear classical pieces along Hogwarts, The spells feel awesome, thanks to the wonderful SFX, but not only, the VFX are exquisite!     Plays great on Steamlink for me but I run a modern high end router and modern high end TV with latest WiFi standards built in so experiences may vary.

    As for the game? It’s been really fun. I got Hufflepuff…Gryffendor at first but I like the underdog thing. The castle is meticulously represented and even entering a place in game for the first time feels familiar, and what’s fun is learning new skills like in any game actually is now in a school so it makes sense lol.

    Ignore the political BS, if you’re a gamer, don’t deny yourself the fun.

    There doesn't appear to be any sort of alignment system at play, I was really hoping to be able to play the game as a jerk-ass Slytherin.

    There doesn't appear to be any sort of like bonding or friendship system in the game for NPCs, this means that relationships don't feel like they really exist.

    Putting in a emotion system like Fable, where you could learn different means of interaction would have been a very welcome game mechanic. I want to be able to flip-off my fellow students.

    Terrible optimized, intro works on my 3070 perfectly on high, after reaching hogwarts and outdoors are a lot of frame drops, unplayable atm. Normally the frame rate is reasonable arround 50 - 60.

    Last Time I was so hooked in a Game was when Elden Ring got released. I love how many Details and Eastereggs are in the Open World and especially in the Castle itself.
    I have 0 performance issues. Usually I get above 100 FPS on Ultra Settings. But I heard a lot of People have Issues with the Performance on PC especially with NVIDIA GPU’s. But from my Point, this Game is a solid 10/10.

    Contrary to what I was expecting, the combat is also fresh and engaging. It feels a little clunky at first but it's truly enjoyable once you learn a few spells and get into the flow. It’s probably going to be copied a thousand times like the Arkham games combat.

    The experience stumbles a bit when it comes to storytelling. So far, it’s been full of little coincidences and things that don’t make sense, but it’s at least doing a good job of keeping things moving at a good pace and is in line with what you’d expect from a Harry Potter story.

    Some of the quests can also feel a little simplistic but the characters you interact with while questing make up for it.

    You’ll find some politics awkwardly jammed into the game but, although they break immersion, they can be ignored for the most part.

    By far the worst part about the game is the PC port.
    One moment I’m at 160 FPS, the next one I’m at 20, and this really ruins immersion.
    While it does look good, there is simply no reason for it to drop below 100 FPS at any time on my PC.

    In conclusion, I’d say this by far the best video game in the franchise.
    If you are familiar with the books or even movies, you are bound to find this enjoyable.
    If you don’t care about Harry Potter, you’ll probably still have a good time.    … Expand

But also that for unexplained reasons now and then the entire PC goes out and does not boot properly when restarting, but the graphics card also hangs.

It just calls you to explore every corner, check every single tile of the game to see what's happening, i never had a game like this attracting and i am not rushing it to finish because i know i will not have a game like this a long time. So enjoy this masterpiece and i hope it will have a Hogwarts Legacy 2 game.

    I think the games really fun to play!! That’s the measure that matters most! The combat is actually challenging (on hard don’t know about the other levels) and the story is easy to follow. The exploration is fantastic and you can easily lose yourself in the game for a long time! I think it you are a mega wizarding world fan then it would easily be a 10!

    Not visually impressive these days, uninteresting story. Repetitive gameplay, combat is the most mid thing ever to exist and by buying it you’re giving money to someone that hates the existence of transgender people… give it a pass

    Game is amazing, it's the best Harry Potter game ever made. It seems that these salty snowflakes boycott didn't work lol, and i'm really happy for that :)

    This game is so good. The graphics, the story, the accesability, the things you can do and explore. This is literally already the best games i’ve played the last 5 years and i don’t think any game will beat this anytime soon. If you’re thinking about buying this, then do it without any doubt. Absolute worth it

    Game is an absolute blast, especially if your a Harry Potter fan. Pc preformence is spotty , but that doesn't stop me from loving this game! I highly recommend it!!

    A wonderful game, a luxurious experience, the game world is very beautiful, the gameplay is fast and very elaborate, the storytelling and dialogues are enjoyable, the diversity in the game is wonderful, an experience that is not repeated 10/10

    The success of Hogwarts Legacy clearly shows that good sales and warm feedback from players are ensured not so much by the gameplay thought out to the smallest detail but by carefully reproducing the right atmosphere. But this is already a subtle moment, akin to real magic, and here the nameless developers of Avalanche Software succeeded.

    Hogwarts Legacy is an altogether excellent port of Wizarding World to PC screens. It proudly belongs to the Young Adult fiction genre, which may make immersion difficult for older gamers.
