    Was genuinely surprised by how good the game is. I had high expectations and it managed to surpass them. Tye gameplay is fire and the story is just next level. Absolutely loving it

    One of the best games this year. And the best one about the Wizarding World hands down.
    Negatives are broken RTX support (at the time of writing), a mostly empty world and repetitive puzzles (Merlin trials).

    The game has stunning visuals/graphics and a Decent combat system, so why am I rating it so low? Because the story and dialogue choices are poorly written/done. Everything else would be fine but no dialogue option made any difference making me actually not want to play the game and rather watch all cutscenes on YouTube aka I wouldn’t have bought this game for the story. From the beginning to the end of the whole game you will be told how good you are "just like that" and even after passing the game you do not know anything about your character. You will communicate with "incredible" lifeless plush characters.

    - The main villain of the game is a goblin who took offense for being called names. And he decided to kill everyone for it. - It is not difficult to assess the strength of the further plot. - You will be given a great opportunity to be a "chosen" messenger on errands in countless exciting bring-and-serve quests. - If you are a seventy-year-old woman who has no one to talk to, it will be very pleasant and fun to listen to every NPC who will tell you his incredible biography from conception to the present day... If you thought these would be fascinating stories (NO). - Distribution ceremony, Yule score, Quidditch game, trips with the faculty to Hogsmeade - no. All HP games up till now are really bad, and fans have longed for a good HP game, but this? This is mediocre at best. Not to mention it's buggy, laggy and stuttery. Bana biraz fazla geldi ama isteyen yapmaz tabii. Açık dünya etkinlikleri sıkıcı, çünkü bulmaca sevmem. Haydut öldürmek o kadar da keyifli değil. Keşiflerinizde bulduğunuz şeyler pek mühim değil.

    Oyun, combat kısmını beklediğimden iyi kotarmış. Sonuçta Harry Potter evreninde yapılabilecek şeyler ve büyü çeşitleri belli. Kaçınma ve doğra zamanda saldırıyı geri püskürtme mekanikleri artık her oyunda var. Buna da iyi yedirilmiş. Büyülerin kullanımı ve birbirleriyle kombinleme de gayet başarılı. Ama biraz kolay olmuş. Oyun boyunca sadece bir kez öldüm, onda da can iksirim bittiği için.

    Ana hikaye meh. Ama arkadaşlarımızın hikayesiyle paralel giden kısımları iyiydi. Yan görevler pek kaliteli değil ama arkadaşlarımızla oyun boyunca devam eden ilişki görevleri güzeldi. Özellikle Sebastian'inkiler.

    Başta açık dünya etkinlikleri çok canımı sıksa da bir süre sonra neyin önemsiz olduğunu anlayınca, ilişki görevlerine ve ana hikayeye odaklanınca keyif aldığım bir oyuna dönüştü. Keşke Harry Potter son filmlerindeki gibi daha karanlık bir tonu olsaydı. Bu haliyle biraz çocuksu olmuş.    … Expand

The game mechanics don’t go well with each other, and everything starts to feel boring and pointless soon. Why would I explore that cave with another gloves in a chest at the end, gloves that I will never use anyway because there is way too much loot everywhere.     Incredible Surprise this game was, Beautiful Graphics, fun game play. Great acting. A welcome change from other Devs. I dont know JK R or Harry Potter previously. my RTX 3060 12GB plays this game better than my 3080 10GB weirdly i'd say it has some performance issues. but over all I loved it.

    There's no point to grind the repetitive tasks other than cosmetic rewards to grind repetitive tasks in game. I already do that in real life.

    I have read all the books, and I love the Harry Potter Franchise, but I was honestly disappointed with this game and was actually really looking forward to this.    … Expand

The game feels kinda empty with that weird plot, lack of emotions, and underdeveloped characters... Like an attraction for wizarding world fans and nothing more (but no surprise here from a studio that never developed a good game so far).
    Overall, that's an OK    So basically it's a perfect example of a game with amazing atmosphere, art, and design but with no narrative whatsoever.     I thought it was a good game until I met a stupid bug (HL-851) that blocked me from continuing my mission. This bug has affected thousands of players but WB and AS are still ignoring it. What a joke!

    This game triggers the purple-haired mentally unstable freaks and degenerates at certain forum that cannot be named.
    All the more reason to rate it 10. The game is absolutely incredible.

    Pleasant atmosphere, interesting mechanics and systems, good realization of Hogwarts. Nonetheless, the game has some issues with game design, but the biggest problem for me is left-wing agenda with diversity and feminism on every corner without any logic in Scotland 19th century.

    Absolutely abysmal game. Maybe the worst game I've ever played. I could go on for hours about how I don't like J.K. Rowling as a person but that's not what we're here for. The gameplay is so boring. The story isn't true to the original plot whatsoever. Worst game I've played since Super Mario Sunshine. Absolute disappointment.

    The is absurdly repetitive, it smells like an Ubisoft game which doesn't mean it's great. It's fine, above average. I think the first hours are made really nice and engaging but after there is nothing to do because all quests and activities are pointless and boring.

    Ridiculously detailed graphics, very pretty. Seems to run great on my 1080ti. Even though there's a lot of dialog so far I don't find myself skipping it.

    edit: Reminds me of Witcher 3, the thrill of being able to explore a ridiculously detailed virtual world. top game of 2023 by a mile. edit2: The chore/training quests are a little too slow for my tastes, install the all-spells    Ridiculously detailed graphics, very pretty.     Wirklich tolles Spiel. Man kann auf verschiedenen Tierwesen und natürlich auf einem Besen durch die große und richtig detailreiche Welt fliegen, aber auch zu Fuß alles erkunden. Das Schloss und die Natur sind einfach atemberaubend schön. Die Geschichte hat mir auch gefallen. Hier und da hätte man gern etwas mehr Tiefe in die Charaktere stecken können, aber ich bin trotzdem sehr zufrieden.

    You can spend hours just exploring the world and especially the castle, and it never gets boring. With the Room of Requirement, there's also player housing, and you can keep your own animals, ride them, brew your own potions, solve a lot of puzzles, and the    Hogwarts Legacy is simply fantastic. It's like diving straight into that magical time of Harry Potter and becoming part of the world.
    You can spend hours just exploring the world and especially the castle, and it never gets boring. With the Room of Requirement, there's also player housing, and you can keep your own animals, ride them, brew your own potions, solve a lot of puzzles, and the characters are also great.

    So far, I really like the game. I've spent a lot of time in the room of requirement, setting everything up just the way I like it. I think it's great that there's player housing in the game. The world overall just looks fantastic.

    Hogwarts Legacy really appeals to me. I've been playing it for several days now and there are still plenty of things to discover. The graphics are the most impressive aspect, of course. They are simply breathtaking and the castle is just gigantic. But the environment looks amazing as well.

    Idk, I think this game is made for fans of harry potter, if you want to play a nice game, play skyrim.

    The game is really enjoyable. The graphics are breathtaking and the world looks simply magical and beautiful. However, I wish there were more emotes for the player character. Also, I don't understand why we can only keep a handful of animals in the room of requirement. Each room has more than enough space. Apart from that, the game is top-notch.

In my opinion a little bit too many dialogues and because of this game after time is a little bit boring but after finished this game I can tell that was good experience.     Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. It was a rather bland game for me. I wish the battles were a little more diverse. You get more pleasure after the middle of the game, but you continue to get the same pleasure until the end of the game.

Сами активности увлекательны только поначалу, дальше они будут повторяться и очень редко оригинальные попадаются. Потому пылесосить карту спустя некоторое время надоедает и становится не профитно. Хотя порой нет-нет, и сворачивал в очередной данж, тут ничего не поделаю)

    The level of detail is so impressive that you can practically smell the butterbeer and feel the warmth of the Hogwarts fireplace. It's like you're actually there, except you don't have to deal with the pesky inconvenience of being a Muggle.

And let me tell you, this time even the bad guys are flat as a plank. In the mind of Moira Squier a bad person means simply a rude jerk.

However, for the slightly more conscientious "gamer" who doesn't usually tear up money, the $70 was expensive. Anyone who has seriously played a good RPG will not be able to love Hogwarts Legacy, a work that is a kind of shoddy copy of The Witcher 3 (2015). Besides being dated in many ways (from the graphics, to the characters' expressions, to the gameplay itself), the game fails to reach the level of detail required for a AAA, even when compared to "Skyrim" (2011). It's not hard, for a "gamer" with some background, to realize how Skyrim's quest system is infinitely more consistent than that of Hogwarts Legacy. It would even be mean to compare it to Rockstar's titles. GTA V (2013) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) are frighteningly more imposing, interesting and consistent than the Warner Bros. game. With several quests with puny, tiresome and/or repetitive objectives, our character almost never faces real challenges. Moreover, other premises of RPGs are neglected: the background of our character basically does not exist; our actions and choices serve no purpose, they do not make a significant impact on the world (it is not even possible to be a dark wizard!!!); our house has no influence on the story; and the most shocking of all is that the world simply does not respond to our actions. Skyrim, in 2011, introduced a "revenge" system that consisted of mercenaries trying to kill us under contract if we had murdered some loved one of some other character. And that's just one example! Hogwarts Legacy is a mediocre game that will mean little or almost nothing to gaming posterity, if not as an example of "fan service", and nothing more. It's a shame that consumers are so satisfied with so little.    … Expand

    The story is a bit mid for a game based off the Harry potter universe they could've done a lot but decided to play it safe, the game is a 12 rated and it really feels like it, constantly reminding you what to do in puzzles with cringe dialog as well as hand holding throughout the story which becomes tiresome. I do not like the trials either which is the core of the story they are generic and boring.

    Outside of the story there's your standard AAA fluff, trials, caves, puzzles, monsters den's etc. Very few monster types here though which is a shame considering the material they had to work from. There's a Pokémon mode that I'm not a fan of as the animals look ridiculous like something out of a 90s Disney movie. The flying is one of my favourite parts of the game, but as soon as the story starts they tell you quidditch is not in the game, you can tell the Devs ran out of time on that one because the quidditch pitch has been moddled to a very high detail, seems odd to have done that but no official mode for it

    Edit: I'm lowering my score to a 4 since the Devs have failed to fix performance issues on pc after multiple patches and since the old gen versions are soon to release I highly doubt these will be resolved soon. Such a shame, all I wanted to do was explore hogwarts in high fidelity without bugs, maybe next year the game will be playable.    … Expand

Playable, but to polish. reminds me of games like dragon age inquisition or similar. They have put a lot of care and detail to capture the magical world to their fans. Great job from devs.

    - сюжет слабенький и наивный, вне сюжета делать нечего, пустая беготня по карте только добавляет негатива к такому решению

It's filled with repetitive MMORPG type quest like collect animals, gaze into stars from various locations, collect herbs, for hours run around Hogwarts and every hamlet collecting book pages, keys and flies for noUnfortunately, this game feels more like chore than fun. It's just run here, reload screen, run there, reload screen, back to Hogwarts, reload.. over and over and over again.. It's filled with repetitive MMORPG type quest like collect animals, gaze into stars from various locations, collect herbs, for hours run around Hogwarts and every hamlet collecting book pages, keys and flies for no real reason, cuddle your animals, collect rewards for cuddling, unnecessarily upgrade your gear from materials you get for cuddling... well, sorry, not my type of fun. I'm sure it has very special charm for everyone who loves Harry Potter world. For others.. well... combat is action paced, if you don't mind that you will be fighting with spider, humans, statues and trolls .. and that's about it ;( But combat is only 1/10 of the game time.     I'm quite confused on the positive reception of this game.
    Obviously the HP fan have the best depiction of Hogwarts, but that's it. That's the only positive things about the game.
    RPG system is a joke. Gameplay is very repetitive. Very few enemies with very few attacks repeated. 3 Puzzle repeated ad nauseam. Story completely shallow and on top of that, all characters are lifeless and    I'm quite confused on the positive reception of this game.

    1. Technical issues a plenty. Glitchy lighting, shadows and LoD with performance issues and stuttering (even after patches) on an RTX 4090. 2. The world is littered by Ubisoft-style side tasks. There are almost 100 Merlin trials, boat loads of balloon challenges etc. Who the heck    The game felt magical for the first few hours, but then the magic quickly faded. The reasons for this:

    3. Enemy variaty is SEVERLY lacking. You will be fighting the same dark wizards and goblins for the majority of the game, alongside spiders, wolves and the occasional troll.

    4. The main story is very slow and not that interesting in general.

    Had I rated the game after the first 10 hours, I would have given it a 9, but as the hours kept ticking, all the flaws just became more apparent and in the end I even struggeled to keep playing and actually finish it.    … Expand

Visually, the game is a marvel, full of intricate details –Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG set in the Wizarding Universe of Harry Potter, a century before the events of the book series. This is a game that is designed for fans of that universe – Hogwarts Castle, the centerpiece of the series, is marvelously detailed, and the game is full of the whimsy that the brand is known for. Visually, the game is a marvel, full of intricate details – Hogwarts Castle is the single best looking area in any video game, ever, and the world at large is quite nice.

    The game has you play as a fifth year student – a 16 year old – of the visual appearance and name of your choice. You get to get sorted into your house (though in reality, you can choose it), get a wand, and get to explore Hogwarts. You learn spells, and instead of fighting like a FPS or a standard action game, the game has a wholly original combat system based around matching shields and managing spell cooldowns and choosing your targets. It actually works well, and unlike most games which either abstract it a lot or feel like third person shooters, it actually feels like it is its own thing.

    But, while this game is a visual masterpiece, it falls a bit short on the actual experience. The game has a really good opening sequence, full of marvelous visuals and a lot of interesting set pieces, but after you get through the tutorial and start in on the game proper, you realize that there were some sacrifices made along the way to get this out the door, and this unfortunately makes the game world feel much less alive than it should.

    The other students are basically scenery – you barely interact with them, and the only times you really do is quests, of which there are an enormous number. Few of your fellow students or professors get much characterization – really, only four or so characters in the game really get explored all that much, and even then, one of them is terribly bland, and all but one of them have very bland designs.

    There are no companions here – there are some quests where you are accompanied by one of four fellow students, or by a professor – but they don’t last all that long, and they don’t do enough to characterize most of them. Ironically, the Slytherin companion is the most interesting one – and in fact, there are two interesting Slytherin characters, which works very well as they have a pre-existing friendship and you are sort of “intruding” on it, which creates an intersting dynamic. Moreover, one of them is very much into Dark Magic and is very emotional, while the other rejects it as dangerous. The one who is into it befriends you and influences you to try and find a cure for his sister, Anne, who has been cursed, at whatever cost – but even as he seduces you to the Dark Side, it kind of becomes clear that he is going too far and nothing he is doing is ultimately going to work out.

    Unfortunately, while this is a good tragedy, it is interspersed with a general plot that is nowhere near as good. One of the other students is okay – she has a bunch of beast-related sidequests – while the third is a fairly lame do-gooder whose characterization isn’t exactly exciting, and who is presented as some exotic figure – except the school is *extremely* international (much more than in the series) resulting in her not seeming so exotic at all. It just doesn’t work.

    There’s theoretically one more companion, but his existence is so fleeting that he shows up basically one and a half times. It is obvious he was meant to play a bigger role, but it seems like whatever subquest he was getting got cut – either because it wasn’t very interesting or because of a lack of time.

    Indeed, it is very obvious that the game was meant to have a companion system, where you brought people around with you; there’s remnants of dialogue from that, and unfortunately, without it, the world feels very sterile. You can’t interact with anyone but shopkeepers outside of quests, and so while the world is pretty, all there really is to do is to run around collecting stuff – which there is a plethora of, but it is mostly the same stuff, over and over again, outside of Hogwarts.

    The greater open world is honestly pretty weak – it looks good visually, but gameplay-wise, there’s just not enough enemy variety to sustain the game. The game could do some interesting puzzles, but there’s only a handful of them, mostly in Hogwarts, with most of the rest just being “use spell on object”. The actual combat is okay at first, but by the end you are just an overpowered wrecking ball and nothing can stand in your way, even without the use of Dark Magic, and the lack of enemy variety makes it increasingly repetitive the longer you go on.

    Overall, the game is a valiant effort, but the shortcomings hold it back from greatness, leaving it as a bit above par. If you play this, stick to the quests - they're quite solid - but the open world is not worth it.    … Expand

    So the good parts are the gameplay and the visuals, the game is gorgeous and the gameplay is fun and it feels good. Maybe the combat felt a bit repetitive close to the end but overall it felt good. Now the worst parts of this game are the story, sound design, and optimization. The story might just be the most boring thing I've seen in recent times I know is for kids but is just awfully boring. You can sense where the story will go way before actually getting there. Is so very superficial and the characters are so flat written. By the end of the game I did not care not even a bit for any of the characters. And there is the optimization, from 90-100 fps it drops randomly to 20-30 in the same area doing literally nothing (on an rtx 3070ti btw). Unfortunately, this became the norm in gaming and is sad. The sound design is disappointing, on a home theater the voices so echoish even outside of Hogwarts, some sounds are very quiet and others are extremely loud.
    So, overall the game was a pretty good game if you close an eye on the optimization part. For the right fan of the Harry Potter universe, this might be one of the best games they've played. But again this should not be the norm in gaming and is sad to see developers becoming lazier and lazier in optimizing their games.    … Expand

This is a game that oozes out Passion, The developers at avalanche, and Portkey games really poured out their soul into this one, and while this game lacks things like Quidditch, house points, and Wizards Chess to a degree, it is aLet me tell you something, every time I play this game, I always say a line from the movie, whether it's a spell or "Avada Kadvra" the way Voldemort says it.     The success of Hogwarts Legacy clearly shows that good sales and warm feedback from players are ensured not so much by the gameplay thought out to the smallest detail but by carefully reproducing the right atmosphere. But this is already a subtle moment, akin to real magic, and here the nameless developers of Avalanche Software succeeded.

    Hogwarts Legacy is an altogether excellent port of Wizarding World to PC screens. It proudly belongs to the Young Adult fiction genre, which may make immersion difficult for older gamers.
