One of the most in depth strategy games I have ever played. There is so much to do in this game it is baffling, no matter what your WWII fantasy scenario might be you can just about live it out while playing this game.
-
Given the overall complexity of Hearts of Iron, its surprising that Paradox found such a smooth interface. Everything is quickly available with just a few clicks or hotkeys, and helpful tooltips pop up for just about everything on the screen. After a short amount of time I was up and running efficiently, if not effectively.
-
Brings a few changes from the original release and seems like an overall better polished title. The learning curve however may stop this game from having any sort of retail success and wont appeal to the masses. This game is for hardcore strategists onlytank rushers and zerg herders need not inquire.
-
A perfect buy for the thinking strategist that is willing to learn something; all others steer clear because youll get bored real quick.
-
For the price and the quality of the game, Hearts Of Iron Platinum is the best WWII strategy simulation on the market currently.
-
A good game in it's own right, however it is a niche title. So what are you strategy fans waiting for? Hitler isn't going to overthrow himself.
-
The interface is very efficient for maneuvering the pieces around the board, for creating a unit, for performing research and for performing political actions. But when it comes to deploying troops, grouping units and selecting specific units, the interface fails pretty miserably.
